A/N - October 17, 2023

Okay so I totally didn't rush to get this chapter out today despite have 3 essays and a fuck ton of course readings to do, but we have waiting 5 years for this day.

Today, Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, and Steve Rogers? are officially dead. It seems as though it was yesterday that I was seeing Tiktoks coming across my feed reminding me that canonically our favourite trio would not be dead for another 5 years. I cannot believe how many Tv shows and MCU films have come out since then. As sad as it is to say it, Endgame is the film that got me hooked on the MCU. I was definitely one of those kids who thought that Marvel was for nerds but now look at me, cosplayer, fanfiction reader/writer and walking MCU encyclopaedia. Without the MCU I would not have found myself, Luke and I probably wouldn't even be friends without the Marvel CInematic Universe for bringing us together.

So thank you to Tony, Nat, and Steve for inspiring so much, thank you to RDJ, Scarlett, and Chris for bringing these characters to life and sticking by them to the end of the line. We will never forget you or your impactful characters.

Now that I'm done sobbing, time for some Q and A's. So make sure to comment any questions you have and we'll try to respond.

crity2re: Firstly, check your inbox, i've messaged you in regards to the beta position you inquired about ;). Secondly, it is always so nice to see your comments. I definitely am still figuring out with Luke what Gamma jacked Hermione is going to look like but know this, it is going to be AWESOME!

Wildcatatheart: So I actually haven't seen either of the seasons of Loki (I know, I don't know how I've avoided spoilers for this long) so I will have to put that question on the backburner but i will make sure we use it when I actually get around to watching this show.

CallaRose4ever: So the problem with debating which side we would be on with Civil War, because we actually both agree for once lol! But that's a good one!

That's it for questions this week. But just a reminder we are looking for a ghost beta to edit the fics because Luke can't stand my crappy spelling for much longer and I honestly love having a beta to point out plot holes or give some suggestions for the story so if you love editing and also want to have a say in the fic, feel free to comment or message me!

Before reading this chapter I implore you to keep in mind the conflicts in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iran, and with that our hearts go out to the LGBTQIA2S+ community with their struggles against US lawmakers. And please keep the Palestinian people in your thoughts during these recent terrorist attacks.

That's it for this week. I hope you enjoy this chapter! As always here is a list of the Marvel shows I have not watched or finished yet so please do not spoil them in the comments, Loki seasons 1 and 2, What If?, Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, Agents of SHIELD, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Werewolf by Night, and Secret Invasion. It isn't that I don't want to watch them, I just haven't had time.

And once again, I own nothing but the storyline. If I owned Marvel or Harry Potter I would've starred in the films and been rich, and directed the films, oh and married Sebastian Stan or Tom Hiddleston, or RDJ, or well, really just any of them. But I do have to take Chris Evans off of that list now, as he has now tied the knot so big congratulations to him!

I hope you like the chapter, enjoy!

June 26th, 2012 Stark Tower, New York City (12:00 PM)

The only thing Hermione could see was flashing lights, so many that she had to squint to be able to see anything. People yelled and shouted so many questions that she couldn't even register what anyone was saying. Her senses were in overload. She felt Happy's hand on her back, guiding her to the steps of a small makeshift stage. She must have gotten disoriented and lost on the way there. He sensed her stress levels rising, noticing her drift dizzly from not being able to see and she was suddenly very grateful for his presence. There was a long table with Tony and Pepper already sitting on either side of the table, with a chair in the middle for Hermione.

With a shaky breath and uneasy steps, she walked onto the stage, as the room when silent, the click of her heels taking over the room. She refused to look up at the room full of people until she had to. There were about a dozen different microphones placed in front of herself and Tony respectively. It was intimidating, to say the least. She sat in her chair slowly, looking to her right to see Tony mouthing 'are you okay?' she nodded as he began.

"I'm sure you're all wondering why I've asked you here today. No, it is not regarding the attack on New York, however, myself and Colonel James Rhodes will be happy to discuss with you after we discuss the matter at hand." Tony explained, Hermione had never heard him so serious before, she didn't know he was capable.

"I've called you all here today as there has been a recent change in my life. A few days ago I received a life insurance notice regarding the daughter of an old friend of mine, Helen Granger nee Carter-Sousa, and her husband. I discovered that among the lengthy list of sketchy dealings Obadiah Stane did, he also covered up the fact that I had a daughter."

As Tony finished his sentence the room went crazy, cameras once again flashed crazily and the questions of reporters filled the room. Pepper and Tony called for them to settle themselves so Tony could finish. It took several minutes but finally, the room settled as Tony continued,

"Thank you, anyways, Stane covered up any knowledge that I had a daughter. He told Helen that I wanted nothing to do with the child, which was of course untrue. As soon as the notice came in I flew to England where Helen raised the child. I found out that my daughter is no longer a child, she's 16 years old. I helped my daughter bury her parents and flew her back to the states which was her own choice. Now before I allow you to ask her and I the many questions I am sure you have. I must remind you that over the last few days, my daughter has faced an unimaginable loss so I ask that you be patient and speak one at a time. I introduce to you my daughter, Hermione Granger."

Hermione lifted her head to look at the room full of reporters who immediately began flashing their cameras as they had a clear view of her face, with questions coming at her left, right, and centre. She didn't know who to answer first so Tony picked someone from the crowd who immediately identified herself.

"Tammy Sawyer, The Sun, Miss. Granger, how do you feel about your father's heroics during this week's attack?"

That was not what Hermione expected her first question would be but just as they practiced she took a deep breath and answered, "I believe Tony's heroics were brave, as well as the entire group of heroes who defended this beautiful city. I commend them on their bravery and their success in battle. It is good to know that the world has heroes to defend it."

She looked at Pepper who looked proud of her answer, it was short, sweet, simple, and to the point. Just like they practiced. Hermione then turned to the crowd and pointed at a young male reporter towards the back of the room.

"Oh um, Pete Longly, LA Times, I'm sure everyone would like to know, were you aware of Tony Stark being your biological father? And if not, do you resent your mother for not telling you about your true parentage?"

"Wow, well that's a loaded question," Hermione laughed at the length of the question, as the reporters laughed with her. "No, I was not aware that Tony was my biological father. I obviously can't answer why my mother would have kept it from me other than that she didn't want me to feel unwanted by Tony which was just all a part of Obadiah Stanes' lie. I don't resent my mother for her choice of not telling me, she didn't know that Tony would have actually accepted me. And to her point, I had a wonderful step-father who had been there for me since I was 2 years old. At some point, she probably didn't even think about it anymore.

"Mr. Stark! Toni Sanders, Toronto Star, how do you feel about your daughter being raised by another man?"

"I am eternally grateful to the man who raised my daughter. I am so glad that someone was there for her. Am I disappointed it wasn't me? Of course, but I am just happy that I now have the opportunity to get to know her, despite the circumstances that made it happen." Tony responded easily.

"Miss. Granger, Jonnie Fuller, New York Times, do you share the same genius as your father?"

"Yes, I do. I have an IQ of 257 upon my last testing." Hermione replied simply, Tony didn't know that, the last report he had was an IQ of 230 when she was 10. Guess he was even learning more from this press conference.

"Miss. Granger, Mitchum Finley, Chicago Tribune, "At the same age you are now, your father was just about to enter university at MIT, do you have the same plans?"

"I was fortunate to be accepted into an invitation-only elite boarding school back in the UK at the age of 11, a school I still plan to attend," Hermione answered and when she saw him come back for a follow-up question she answered as she already knew what he would be asking. "Before you ask, yes I do feel challenged at this school. It is not because I would not be smart enough to attend a school like MIT, I just happen to enjoy the school I attend. Seeing as I only have 2 years left of my education there I plan on completing my education there before seeking higher education. Besides, my father knows all too well how isolating it can be to enter a university school system too early."

"She's right, and I fully support any decision she makes in terms of education," Tony added, fully supporting her statement, grabbing her hand and squeezing it in comfort, indicating that she was doing well.

"Miss. Granger, Ben Urich, Daily Bugle. In light of the new masked hero now being called 'Iron Hex' who fought in New York's battle the other day in a suit eerily similar to your father's Iron Man suit. I'm sure we are all wondering, are you that masked hero following in your father's footsteps?"

Pepper and Tony looked at each other subtly in a panic, that was maybe the one question they hadn't prepared her for. Hermione though, was quick on her feet, beginning to laugh.

"As much as I would love to take credit for being 'Iron Hex', unfortunately I can't. I am not the masked hero who flew around New York or waved a stick around, casting magical spells. I am just plain old Hermione Granger, the daughter of a billionaire, genius, philanthropist, but to whoever Iron Hex is, thank you to you and your friends for coming to save the city."

Hermione didn't want the attention of being Iron Hex on top of being Tony Stark's daughter, though she'd picture how crazy the crowd would go if she simply said, "I am Iron Hex." Just like her father had done just a few short years ago.

Tony and Pepper looked at Hermione with a prideful look, she was good at this press conference thing. They'd prepped her well.

"Mr. Stark! Sasha Morris, Star Tribune, did you build the Iron Hex suit? Do you know this masked hero?"

Tony had been prepared for this question, "I did build the Iron Hex suit, it was meant as a protective device for my fiancée Pepper. However, upon the attacks in New York, I was asked if an enhanced person could use it as extra protection, and upon a background check I agreed."

"Miss. Granger! How is this adjustment? I mean a quiet life in the suburbs of London to living in a penthouse in New York City, the daughter of Tony Stark, it must be very daunting."

Hermione sighed, she had been expecting this question but really, there wasn't a good answer to it. "My parents passed only a few short days ago and while it was my decision to move so quickly in moving to New York, it is still a jarring experience that is going to take a while to get used to. But so far I love this city even when it's being destroyed by a bunch of aliens." To which the crowd laughed, "But I still miss the way life was, I mean how can I not. But had everything not happened the way it did, I never would've met Tony, which if the last few days have shown me anything, it's that once Tony Stark is in your life, he's there for good and for the better."

She heard Tony make a coughing noise beside her, she turned to the side and saw that Tony was trying very hard to hold back tears. She gripped his hand again and squeezed it with a reassuring smile.

"Miss Granger! Isabelle Ibara from The Kitchen Post here. How do you plan to spend your fathers fortune now that you have access to it?" She asks, pointing her recorder at her.

"Unfortunately for your article, I don't plan on being irresponsible with it." She flashes a practised smile at the reporter. "I plan to only use it for schooling, and try my best to earn my own way in life."

"Miss Granger! Paislee Perkins with the British Post. Do you think your mother slept with your father to try and get some of his money?" The woman asks.

"I do not take kindly to any rumours that my mothers any kind of slut, thank you very much." She levels the reporter with a glare. "My mother felt something for my father, they grew up together and had recently reconnected when I was conceived. There was something there, romantic, plutonic, Plain and simple."

"Miss Granger, Delaney Dawson, with the Queen's Tribune. How do you respond to the people who believe that you're faking being Tony Stark's daughter?" She asks.

"Who would think that?" Hermione asks in disbelief. "The news literally just dropped."

"Just doing my job ma'am." The reporter responds.

"Then frankly, that belief is bull. Tony Stark is my father, and no matter what people believe, that fact cannot be changed." She earnestly answers, but realises she may have been too harsh with her response, even after all that prep. "I mean even if we didn't take a DNA test I mean look at me, I have the mischievous Stark twinkle in my eyes." To which the room laughed, she looked over at Tony and Pepper to see them nodding along with her response, enthusiastic smiles gracing their faces.

The rest of the commerce went fairly smoothly from there, they had questions for Tony about the battle, and they had questions about Hermione's childhood, where she grew up, how she found New York and such. Before she knew it she was saying goodbye to the crowd, being escorted back upstairs by Happy.

June 26th, 2012 Stark Tower, New York City (12:47 PM)

"You did well," Happy reassured in the elevator as Hermione let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding.

"Really?" Hermione asked nervously, even though she knew she'd practised and done her best, her anxiety still got the best of her.

"Yeah, I saw Tony and Pepper, they were impressed with you, and bonus, you almost made Tony Stark cry," Happy reassured and joked. This young witch was definitely better than Tony at the subtle art of the press conference. The elevator doors opened to the penthouse as Hermione and Happy stepped out into the living room, Steve and Bucky nowhere to be found. At her look of confusion, Happy informed her, "They went to the SHIELD gym to train, they'll be back in a few hours."

"Oh cool," Hermione replied simply, she wondered if Tony trained at the SHIELD gym or if he had one in the building. Hermione went to sit on the couch, grabbing Pride and Prejudice which she'd left there earlier this morning.

"I was wondering, if well-" Happy asked shyly, something Hermione had never seen or heard before.

"Yes?" Hermione asked from the couch, looking up from her book.

"Could you tell me about him? My nephew? My brother?" Happy asked the girl. He'd always been curious about what happened to them. His parents may not have wanted him but that doesn't mean he wasn't curious about what they were doing or what happened to them. Hermione smiled at the innocent request and patted the seat beside her.

"I don't know much as Greg Jr is a Slytherin and well, you know well enough how they feel about people like me," Hermione explained. Happy nodded sadly, he was ashamed to be related to such blood supremacists. "So I don't know if you know but there was a wizarding war many years ago, led by a man named Voldemort who wanted to eradicate all muggle-borns. He led a group called the Death Eaters who were made up of pureblooded wizards."

"Greg was a part of it, wasn't he?" Happy asked sadly, slightly choked up at the notion, Hermione nodded.

"He was. The group ran officially from 1970 to 1981 when Harry defeated Voldemort as a baby. No one quite knows how a baby defeats the darkest of lords but somehow he did and his rain of terror ended." Hermione decided to not mention to Happy that Voldemort was back. He would just go to Tony and worry him. "Greg Sr avoided Azkaban after the war. He had just had Greg Jr a year or so prior. I believe he works for the ministry. I'm not actually sure. That's all I know about your brother, I am truly sorry."

"That's okay, I completely understand. You go to school with my nephew though, right?" Happy asked hopefully.

"Yes, Goyle," Hermione said with great strain, Happy picked up on this instantly.

"Don't sugarcoat who he is, Hermione. I know how pureblood society brainwashes their kids to be terrible people just like them." Happy offered bluntly, on that note, Hermione cleared her throat and began.

"Gregory Goyle, he's a Slytherin and a beater for the quidditch team. Last year he was on the Inquisitorial Squad which was a group formed by the 'high inquisitor' aka Dolores Umbridge, a ministry-appointed professor to keep us kids in line." Hermione said with disdain.

"Was it that bad?" Happy asked.

"Let's just say that I'm not a fan of them. Your nephew is one of the reasons that a blood quill was used on me." Hermione told him. She figured telling him about Umbridge's rain of terror was safe enough since she was no longer in power. Happy deserved to know what pureblood society had done to his nephew.

"What?!" Happy choked with wide eyes, Hermione pulled up her sleeve, and using her new accelerated powers, waved her opposite hand over her left to expose a scar that read, 'I must learn my place.' Happy looked up at Hermione in horror. "You have to tell-"

She already knew what he was going to say, "I will…just not now. He's already wary about letting me go back to Hogwarts."

Happy thought for a moment, clearly contemplating his loyalty to Tony versus Hermione before nodding, "You have to tell him though kid. You have until the end of the summer, or I'll have to tell him."

"I will," Hermione reassured, and she meant it. "Anyways the Inquisitorial Squad and Umbridge have been removed from Hogwarts."

"So I assume Greg inherited my brother's blood supremacy mindset then?" Happy asked the girl, disappointed, already knowing the answer but couldn't help but let out a sigh when Hermione nodded in confirmation.

"I've heard quite a few 'mudbloods' when I pass him in the halls. He's not the brightest student but shows decent capabilities in Divination and Astronomy. His best friends are Draco Malfoy and Vincent Crabbe. Although I prefer to think of Goyle and Crabbe as Malfoys lackeys. That's pretty much all I know about him." Hermione said sadly, she wished she could give Happy more but unfortunately, that's all she knew.

"Well thank you, Hermione. I am sorry that he has made your life difficult." Happy apologized, he didn't know what to feel but he was at least glad he knew more about his biological family. Even if it wasn't all warm and fuzzy.

The elevator door opened to reveal Pepper, Tony, and Rhodey, coming from the end of the press conference.

"Look at you, Miss Stark Heiress!" Tony said with an excited smile, arms open wide as Hermione ran to him to receive a prideful hug. Her father released her after a moment, "I am so proud of you. You did great."

"You did amazing Hermione," Pepper added, bringing her step daughter in for a tight side hug.

"Glad to know there's at least one Stark who isn't a complete ass when it comes to press conferences," Rhodey jokes, before looking around, noticing the two super soldiers were nowhere to be seen. "Where are Barnes and Rogers?"

"They went to train at the SHIELD gym," Hermione told the group. Tony, Pepper, and Rhodey all looked at each other at that piece of knowledge.

"Actually kid there's something we all wanted to discuss with you, then we can unpack your room okay?" Tony told his daughter nervously.

"Okayyyy," Hermione replied, drawn out, becoming worried at Tony's nerves. They all sat on the large couch, never taking their eyes off the girl.

"Now I'm sure you would not be opposed to this idea but Pepper suggested I ask just in case." Tony began, "I was discussing this idea with Rhodey, Coulson, and Fury on a conference call this morning and I was thinking that the Avengers need a headquarters."

"I agree," Hermione nodded, the Avengers needed somewhere that wasn't affiliated with SHIELD, somewhere private they could all go to…decompress.

"I was thinking we would make Stark Tower the Avengers base while myself and SHIELD build a base…more remote," Tony asked his daughter.

"Really?" Hermione asked him excitedly.

"Yep, that would mean a bigger lab, training centre, everything in the basement below Stark Tower," Tony explained.

"Hell yes!" Hermione agreed a little louder than she intended, blushing at the surprise of her over-excitement, this meant she didn't have to go through SHIELD for training. Sharon would probably be against her going any closer to SHIELD than she already was. "I mean everyone lives here anyway, so might as well."

"I'm sorry everyone?" Rhodey asked, immediately going into military investigation mode. "Even those Gods, and Iron Hex?"

"The Gods returned back to Asgard yesterday and Iron Hex disappeared after the battle," Tony answered for Hermione. He didn't like lying to Rhodey but it was his daughter's secret to keep, not his, she decided who would know what and when.

"Alrighty then," Rhodey replied simply, he'd clearly heard Tony tell him this before. He clearly didn't believe Tony's lie. "So it's official then Tony? This is the Avengers base?"

"Seems like it." The billionaire answered with a smile, beaming at his daughter.

"Ok then, I need to head back to base, the battle has left me with a mountain of paperwork." Rhodey excused himself, still wary of Hermione but still reached out a friendly hand to shake goodbye. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Hermione, I look forward to getting to know you this summer."

"Likewise," Hermione said with a half-hearted smile, shaking the Colonel's hand as Pepper and Tony escorted him out.

June 26th, 2012 Stark Tower, New York City (1:25 PM)

"So what did you think of Rhodey?" Tony asked his daughter, the colonel is one of his best friends and Tony wanted his daughter to like him. Hermione who was sitting on the couch, ensconced with her book, looked up at her father.

"He's nice." She replied simply with a straight face, before adding, "He's suspicious of me."

Tony sighed that his daughter had noticed, "He's suspicious of everyone, don't take it personally."

"I'm sorry I have to put you in a situation where you have to lie Tony. Especially to friends." Hermione apologises earnestly. She really hated doing this to him, she knew she had turned his life upside down all in a matter of days and now he's adjusting his entire way of life for her.

"Are you kidding? You're my kid, that trumps Rhodey any day. Besides, it's not the first time I've had to lie to him." Tony replied simply, shrugging her apology off. He really didn't need her to feel guilty for something that is completely out of her control. But the new dad was quickly discovering that that was just who his daughter was, the type who feels guilty and apologises for things totally out of her control. It warmed Tony's heart to know that his daughter has grown up to be a good person. He saw his daughter smile at his words and before she could find something else to feel guilty about Tony decided to suggest a distraction. "So you wanna unpack?"

Hermione's eyes lit up at the suggestion, 'a new room, fresh start' the young witch thought to herself. As much as she didn't want to go through her stuff from home. Pictures, trinkets, trophies, all reminders of her parents. But she knew that the sooner she unpacked, the more Stark Tower would feel like home. She nodded as Tony led her to the room beside hers so they could stay loading the boxes into her room. Pepper soon joined them, getting off a conference call for some country or another, as did Happy who finished his mandatory lunch break Pepper insists on taking him, since it is union rules. The foursome began to sort boxes of clothes and unmentionables that Hermione would want to sort by herself later. This was her least favourite part of coming back from Hogwarts, all the unpacking, only to repack 8 weeks later. It all seemed so pointless.

Pepper began unloading her various trophies and knickknacks onto some of Hermione's shelves. As Hermione and Tony tackled the biggest challenge of all….her books. They must've taken up at least 15 boxes of just books alone, the book boxes were almost double the boxes with clothes and trinkets. The boxes were extremely heavy, so much so that eventually after the 4th box, Tony pulled out his gauntlets with their rupolsters and used the extra thrust to lift the boxes with ease. Hermione didn't dare tell him she could levitate the boxes with her wand.

"So how are we organizing these?" Tony asked breathlessly as he placed the final box of books in front of the wall-to-wall bookshelves that Pepper had ensured was installed prior to moving in when they found that Hermione was a genius who loved to read. They had found an old newspaper interview of hers from when she was 8 years old where she said that her favourite pastime was reading, anything and everything. Tony and Pepper knew they needed to install library-sized bookshelves for a kid genius. They had only hoped that she still had the same passion for reading as she once had when she was a child, they were glad they were right. Luckily the wall-to-wall bookshelves were the right choice as Hermione had a lot of books, not enough to fill the shelf space luckily, but Tony wouldn't be surprised if he needed to dedicate a room to her books by this time next year.

"Pardon?" Hermione asked at the question. She had never known another person who organised their books, other than her parents who were just as bookish as herself. Ron and Harry, and even Lupin just threw their books on the shelf aimlessly and were able to differentiate their reading material but the colour of the covers. Hermione had always cringed when people would just drop books on a shelf with no organization. Much to the dismay and annoyance of her friends, she took every opportunity she could to organize and sort the bookshelves around her, Ron and Harry always appreciated it until they couldn't find any of their books, 'not that there were many, to begin with,' Hermione thought to herself, so she stopped doing that.

"How do you want to organize the books? Alphabetize by title? Or by the author? Personally, I prefer by the author but however you normally do it is-" Tony began to explain before Hermione interrupted hesitantly.

"No, no I know it's boring, you don't have to help me organize them. I can just pop on my headphones and listen to music to pass the time-" Hermione began as her father interrupted and the two began to talk over each other.

"No it's really not a problem I like sorting things-"

"No, no I'm sure you have better things to do-"

"Really Sabrina it isn't a problem,"

"Maybe we can-"

"Holy hell you two are too fucking similar for me right now," Happy groaned in annoyance, "I'm getting a headache just listening to this."

"We are not," Hermione and Tony replied defensively in unison, before turning to each other to play a round of jinx. Leaving Pepper and Happy to roll their eyes half in annoyance and half in pure annoyance at how adorable and pure Tony and Hermione's relationship was. They had both never really seen this side of Tony, they knew it was there, but it was just a side they didn't get to see too often.

"Hermione, Tony actually finds organizing relaxing so when he says he has no problem helping you, he means it. Happy and I, however, need to go over your new safety protocols, so we'll leave you two to organize." Pepper offered, bringing Happy along behind her. Hermione turned to Tony who had already picked up an armful of books from the myriad of boxes. The young witch smiled at her father's enthusiasm for organizing books.

"I alphabetize by author. Last name obviously." She responded, answering her father's earlier question, he smiled at the similarities between their organizational styles. It was nice to think, whether it is inheritable or not, that Hermione had inherited some of his traits.

Beginning to place some of the books on the shelf in silence, the room quickly became awkward for the two as they realized this was the first they were truly alone. There was nothing that needed to be discussed or talked through. Neither knew where to begin, what to say or what to talk about. It was just so…new and awkward. So Tony did what he normally did when things got awkward and uncomfortable, and played some music. He used his watch to begin playing 'Should I Stay or Should I Go' by The Clash.

It didn't take long before Hermione and Tony started bopping their heads to the beat to begin to sing along quietly to the lyrics. By the end, the two were singing very loudly to the song and laughing at just how terribly they sounded.

"So The Clash?" Hermione asked Tony, "I thought you were more into that classic heavy metal kind of rock."

"Oh I am, believe me, no one has a more rock and roll playlist than me. But I dabble in other genres," Tony told his daughter, placing a few Jane Austen novels in the 'A' section which had already taken a shelf and a half of space. "I recall your mom and I bonding pretty heavily over Elton John and the Beatles."

"Still technically rock," Hermione pointed out, adding Patti Smith's 'Woolgathering' and 'The Coral Sea' to the 'S' shelf which, just like the 'A' shelf, was already growing exponentially. The novel caused Hermione to smile sadly. They were her mothers, Patti Smith was a personal favourite to Hermione's mother. Between Smith's poetry, music, and books, Hermione had grown up with her mother's constant recommendation of her works. Hermione made a mental note to find Smith's book 'Babel' her mother's personal favourite so she could reread it soon.

"Touche." Tony responded, "You have the same love for the classics though right?"

"I mean how could I not? I grew up in a household where my mother was in her 20s in the 70's so of course I got an earful of Queens, Elton, Bowie, Zeppelin, Eagles, Ramones, Temptations…" Hermione listed, as Tony's face grew a goofy grin, to which Hermione laughed, "What?"

"Oh, I'm so glad that my child is cultured!" Tony exclaimed gleefully, dropping the books he was currently shorting through to give his daughter a big hug. She laughed at the ridiculousness of Tony's gesture.

"You really doubted Mom? Besides, Grandma Peg filled in the 40s, 50s, 60's." Hermione added as she was released from the hug and the two continued organizing her library of books.

"Okay so favourite Elton song?" Tony asked his daughter, genuinely curious. His was 'Rocket Man' but with Elton, could one really go wrong?

"That's like asking me to choose between my favourite non-existent child!" Hermione gasped jokingly as Tony snorted. "But Candle In The Wind is definitely the most played."

"But yeah I mean point is, I definitely have a preference for the more metal side of rock but my music taste is all over the place," Tony told his daughter honestly.

"Oh, I definitely understand that. One minute I'll be jamming to Stevie Nick's, the next I'm belting out 'Defying Gravity'." Hermione agreed before remembering the oh-so-delightful nickname Tony had given her. She could only hope he wouldn't connect the dots.

"Oh, so you are Glinda then?" Tony teased, as he began playing 'Popular' from Wicked. Hermione rolled her eyes in irritation, letting out a disappointed sigh, 'Evidently, jokes just cannot be forgotten with this man.' Tony threw his head back and laughed at her disdain for his joke before adding, "Come on Glinda, teach me how to be popular."

His daughter once again rolled her eyes at the lameness of his jokes. She casually ignored him before opening another box which made her well up with tears instantly. Seeing her eyes brim with tears Tony immediately stopped laughing and had JARVIS shut off the music. Tony cupped his daughter's face as her lip trembled trying to hold the tears in, he used his thumb to wipe away the tears that threatened to fall.

"Hey now, what's all the tears for?" Tony asked softly, coming to her side and dropping his right arm over her shoulder, rubbing his hand up and down her arm trying to calm her down.

"I-It's really stupid," Hermione admitted with a sob, instead of telling her it would be alright or that everything was going to be okay, Tony just place her head in his shoulder and whispered,

"It's not stupid, okay? Nothing's stupid if it's important to you. Just let it out." Tony consoled her. That was exactly what Hermione needed to hear and Tony knew it. He'd been through it before and knew what he wished he had heard in her situation. Tony's awareness of what she needed calmed her down instantly. Her mind didn't wonder to responses like "it's never going to be okay again." Or "Why did this have to happen to me?" Instead, she felt valid and heard. Hermione took a few long, deep breaths before pulling herself out of Tony's shoulder.

"You ready?" Tony asked, if she didn't want to talk about it and just wanted to move on that would be fine with him. Of course, he would want to know but he knew that that was not his right to ask for anything more than what she was willing to give him. Hermione nodded, wiping the last few tears from her face with the back of her face. Sniffling and taking a deep breath before she explained.

"It's mine and Mum's old Judy Blume and Roald Dahl novels. We used to read a chapter of each book together every night before I went to bed, even if I did grow out of their reading levels at age 3. Mum knew it too, but it was the only book I never read ahead in, and never rushed to get to the end of the story. It was the 20 minutes to a half an hour that I would just get to spend time with Mum. She would read to me like I was a normal child who wasn't reading studies on quantum mechanics earlier in the day. And I got to pretend that I was a normal child who experienced all of the problems of a normal prepubescent teenage girl."

"And I mean Judy Blume really did have a book for most problems that girls my age have and somehow in 300-400 pages, made it all feel normal and that everything was going to be alright. And really "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret" literally helps every little girl who doesn't understand what happens when a woman grows up and somehow by the end of the book makes it feel normal. Then of course "Deenie" really helped me understand beauty and how it's only skin deep, what it's like to feel like the weirdo. I mean yes it's a different story, me being a witch and Deenie having to wear a neck brace, but I mean all of the feelings and emotions are there!"

"I mean Matilda and James and the Giant Peach somehow made everything that was happening to me, aka showing signs of being a witch, normal. Especially Matilda, who somehow rationalized that all the witchy symptoms I was showing were normal and should be embraced. I remember how Mum somehow got tickets to Matilda the Musical on the West End for me for Christmas last year. That was the best day of my life, I still listen to the soundtrack on repeat sometimes. I heard it's actually coming to Broadway in April of next year." Hermione had to take a deep breath after going into her long-winded explanation and blushed embarrassingly after seeing Tony's jaw drop in complete shock at her

"May I?" Tony asked, gesturing to the box, Hermione nodded reluctantly. Tony carefully looked through the book before pulling out the 4 books she had mentioned and placed them one by one on 4 glass book stands spread out on her mantle, like a place of honour. It reminded Hermione of the displays one would see at a bookstore for really important books. It warmed her heart to see her and her mother's favourite books honoured in such a simple yet meaningful way.

Hermione hugged Tony instantly which he found to be a sweet reaction to such a simple gesture. "Thank you," she whispered.

"And that Matilda Musical sounds good too. Maybe you could take me and Pepper to see it." Tony told Hermione, being careful to phrase it in a way that made it so Hermione would be taking them and introducing them to something she and her mother loved. He didn't want to make it seem like he was trying to take over those memories that Hermione had made with her mother. Hermione seemed to take notice of his phrasing and smiled,

"I would love to."

"Good." Tony sighed in relief, from then on The two debated everything to do with music, their favourite artists, favourite songs and albums. It felt weirdly normal to both of them. Any signs of the previous awkwardness ceased to exist, the two had found a middle ground and from there they could talk about everything. Hermione's school trips to see West End productions, the time her parents took her on a tour of Buckingham palace when she was 10, the first time she went to Diagon Alley to get her wand and how it had taken the poor wandmaker a good 2 hours to find her wand. Which she then had to explain was an absurdly long time for a person to look for a wand. And then Hermione then had to go into Wand Lore, which to be honest no one really knew much about so it didn't take long. She then had to promise she would let Tony borrow every wizarding book she had that could help him understand her culture. She made a mental note to hide all of her texts that referenced the first wizarding war. Which would be hard since she already told him her favourite book was 'Hogwarts: A History.' She would have to use her patronus to ask Dumbledore, Remus, or Sirius if they had any older copies from before the war since she didn't have an owl to write to them with.

Tony talked about his time creating the Iron Man suit, and how Agent Romanoff knocked Happy flat on his ass, but Hermione noticed how he conveniently left out his time in captivity. She understood though, after going through something like that, she could only imagine what he had been through. She could understand why he probably didn't want to talk about it. But she did enjoy learning about Tony's life. There's only so much one can learn from the internet or magazine articles. He kept trying to bring the conversation back to her and she understood. Tony wanted to learn as much as he could about her to make up for lost time but she was just as eager to learn about him.

It had been at least an hour and a half since then began sorting through her books and then could proudly say they were a little over halfway done. Tony would've continued forever if it meant he could learn more about her but the billionaire came to a halt when he heard Hermione yawing in exhaustion.

"I think I still might be getting used to the time change. Jet Lag, you know?" Hermione joked as she looked down at the boxes as if she didn't want to stop but physically she couldn't organize properly anymore. "Would you mind if I read and kipped for a bit? We can finish this later. I promise, I won't sort anymore without you."

Tony smiled and nodded, "Of course, you never have to ask. You could've actually told me to 'F' off and I would've understood. You get some shuteye yeah?"

Tony left the room as Hermione turned on one of her side lamps and she noticed JARVIS begin to close her black-out curtains. 'She's still afraid of the dark' Tony noted with a smile, 'It pays to be an observant genius.'

"JARVIS," Tony called before calling to Hermione, "Lights on or off?"

"Off please, thanks Tony. Thank you JARVIS." Hermione thanked before opening her book, Tony noticed it was "Babel" by Patti Smith, it sounded familiar to him. He wondered if Helen had ever recommended it to her during one of their 'family obligated dinners' as teenagers. Tony closed the door allowing his daughter some privacy before he heard his AI.

"You're welcome, ma'am." His AI responded

"Hermione," He heard his daughter call out to the AI.

"You're welcome, Miss Hermione."

"Ugh!" Hermione huffed in frustration. Tony smiled at the simplicity. Since when did such small facts about a person make him this happy?

Tony ran into the living room startling Pepper and Happy who began to worry about Hermione's safety. The pair quickly abandoned their safety plan planning, and hurried over to the panicked billionaire.

"Tony what the-?" Happy began worriedly

"Is Hermione okay? What's wrong?" Pepper began to ask, panicked, grabbing Tony by the shoulders and trying to grab his bearings.

"Hermione? What she's fine, she's just kipping in her room, whatever the hell that means, JARVIS, find me a book on British slang and have it sent over ASAP-" Tony began to ask his AI.

"Damn you Tony, I thought something happened to her, why the hell would you come out here in such a panic?" Pepper demanded to know angrily, punching him in the arm.

"Auch, jeez Pep, I came 'cause I needed your help."

"With what?"

"I just pretended to know who the hell Judy Blume was for a good 10 minutes while Hermione explained the importance of "Are you there Jesus?" or something and some book about a kid with a neck brace or something and how it affected her relationship with her mother an-" Tony began ranting.

"You really came in here in a panic because you wanted me to tell you the plot and importance of "Are you there God? It's me Margaret " and"Deenie " in a young girl's life?" Pepper asked, outraged.

"Yes!" Tony replied exasperated at trying to remember the name of one YA novel let alone two for the last 10 minutes.

"Why didn't you say so? I love Judy Blume!" Pepper gushed excitedly, pulling him over to the kitchen table, dismissing Happy for lunch so she could explain Judy Blume to Tony.

"You and every other girl in this building," Tony muttered under his breath, regretting and questioning the lengths he would go to understand and make his daughter happy.

June 26th, 2012 Stark Tower, New York City (5:36 PM)

When Hermione awoke she found her book in her lap, the pages barely read before she had drifted off in exhaustion. She turned to face her bedside table to look at the clock and noticed she had slept way longer than she wanted to. She groaned at the thought, this was the worst thing she could do for jet lag, she should've just chugged a few shots of espresso.

"Damn it," Hermione muttered, peeling herself from the bed. Taking her wand from the nightstand to message Remus and Sirius about that outdated version of Hogwarts: A History so she can allow Tony to read it. She muttered a quick, 'Expecto Patronum' As her familiar blue silvery otter appeared she relayed her quick message to Sirius and Remus.

'Hey guys, I'm wondering if you have an outdated copy of Hogwarts: A History from before the war that I could borrow? I really don't need Tony getting involved in all of this before I've gotten to know him. If you have one and would be willing to send it to me I would be extremely grateful. All my love, Hermione."

Pocketing her wand, she headed over to her wizarding world book collection and pulled books such as 'Wand Lore: As Much As I Can Tell You' by Garrick Ollivander, 'The History of Hogwarts Founders by Wallance Ficklebee, as well as 'Fantastic Beasts: And Where to Find Them' by Newt Scamander. She also grabbed 'Quidditch Throughout The Ages' by Kennilworthy Whisp and 'Quidditch: A History' by Longworth Bittlebom for Steve and Bucky as she thought it would interest them. She remembered she would have to look for her book on 'Wizarding Business Owners Throughout History' for Pepper. But after much deliberation on collecting more books, Hermione decided that that should be enough to get Tony by for at least a little bit.

She also pulled a wizarding dictionary that was written by a muggle-born who attended Hogwarts around Remus and Sirius' time. Professor McGonagall recommended it to her on her first trip to Diagon Alley and it had been a lifesaver her first year. She would of course be there to help Tony with any questions he may have but really she understood how stupid the questions could be. She and Harry bothered Ron and Neville relentlessly about slang and terminology mentioned in their textbooks.

Looking in a mirror and quickly taming her hair, she headed to the living room praying that dinner would be ready. She was starving.

Luckily as she approached the living room she could smell food coming from the kitchen.

"You're up!" Pepper exclaimed, stirring up some marinara sauce in a pot, while Tony and Happy went over a large folder labelled "Operation Hex" which she could only assume was her protection plan that Pepper and Happy had been working on all afternoon.

"Hey, you sleep okay?" Tony asked curiously, Hermione nodded sadly.

"Wish I didn't sleep as long, I gotta get ahead of this jet lag thing." Hermione shook off, taking a seat beside Tony by the kitchen island. She pushed the wizarding books she collected towards Tony, keeping the Quidditch books to herself for when Steve and Bucky came back. "There's one on wand lore, one on creatures, one on the Hogwarts founders and I've included a dictionary."

"Hermione sweetie you just fought in a battle and exerted yourself physically and magically. The jet leg should be the least of your worries." Pepper advised, putting some pasta in some pre-boiled water.

"Yeah I know, I just like to get ahead of things," She told Pepper.

"What about that Hogwarts: A History book that you said was your favourite?" Tony asked looking through the pile of books she had given him only to find the one he was most curious about missing.

"Oh I left it with Ginny before I left, she wanted to borrow it. But I used my patronus to message her and she'll be sending it over shortly." Hermione lied easily. This was becoming too common but she knew what the alternative was, if she told Tony he could involve himself in the war or he could refuse to send her back to Hogwarts. It would just be safer if he was kept in the dark until it became necessary for him to know.

Tony nodded at her reply as the elevator rang and opened. Steve and Bucky came back from training, freshly showered and laughing at something the other had said.

"How was SHIELD?" Hermione asked the two, suddenly feeling less dread from sleeping too long and beginning to feel a lot happier.

"Great, we actually talked to Fury about this summer," Steve informed the young witch, clearly hiding the lead, causing Hermione anxiety to spike. She was worried that they had backed out of wanting her to teach them about all they'd missed, or that Fury was sending them on a summer-long mission like Sharon. Her worry was skyrocketing but she decided to play it cool.

"Oh?" She asked, trying to be casual, "What about this summer?"

"Well, we talked to Fury and told him about your plan to teach us everything we missed over the summer." Bucky began to explain, looking to Steve to continue his sentence to build suspense. Which Steve quickly picked up on.

"And it took a lot of convincing but…" Steve continued, enjoying the look of impatience on Hermione's face.

"We are happy to report the Winter Soldier and Captain America are on summer break!" Bucky exclaimed, waiting for Hermione to react with just as much enthusiasm as himself and Steve.

"So I'm sorry let me see if I understand this? You have the entire summer off from missions?" Hermione clarified before allowing her to get too excited.

"Yeah I mean save for if the Avengers need to save a large city from an alien race again, we're pretty much off for the summer," Steve confirmed, the two soldiers watched as a large smile crept up on the young witch's face.

"Ahhhhh! Oh my god, this is going to be so much fun." Hermione squealed giving Steve a big hug before moving onto Bucky happily took in the hug and swung her around as she laughed in glee. "Pepper you and I need to get started planning the 50's, I'm thinking a malt shop that converts into a sock hop."

"Yes and then we could hire-" Pepper stopped herself as Tony looked up at the word 'hire'

"I'm sorry we're hiring people now? How much money are we spending on these history lessons." Tony asked half jokingly half confused. Steve and Bucky went ghost white at Tony's questioning.

"Hermione really we don't need to recreate-" Steve began nervously

"Sorry Tony, I can just make a powerpoint and-" Hermione began to apologise. The air in the room was tense as Steve, Bucky, and Hermione began to apologise for their assumption.

"Really Tony? Stop joking around with them, look at them, they look terrified," Happy scolded, as Pepper began to laugh, and soon after Tony joined in. Steve, Bucky, and Hermione had colour quickly returned to their places.

"Even if it was a joke, I'm sorry Tony I shouldn't have assumed." Hermione apologised, hanging her head in shame. She realised how quickly she had gotten used to the idea of having unlimited money.

"Hermione, I'm not saying go out and buy a jet or whatever, actually don't that's a really good birthday gift idea." Tony joked

"Tony," Pepper warned crossly. She knew Hermione was freaking out and really didn't know how to take a joke right then and there. The young witch began to hyperventilate from her intrusive thoughts. Bucky and Steve quickly came to her side, rubbing their hands up and down her back as well as along her arms which seemed to calm her down for the most part.

"No but really kid it's like I told you in the hospital, this is pennies for me." Tony tried to console before quickly realising how that was the WRONG thing to say. What could he say? He was still getting used to the title of genius, billionaire, philanthropist, and DAD. Hermione groaned in frustration at herself

"Yeah but now all I'm thinking about is how many people are starving and struggling in this world and I want to spend money recreating decades in history! How selfish am I?!" Hermione began pacing the room frantically. Tony looked to Pepper and Happy for advice and the two just gave him a look of 'you started this, you fix it.' Then just like the genius he was, a brilliant idea struck.

"How about this, for each dollar you spend on these lessons, I will double it and give it to different charities each week." Tony offered quickly. Hermione stopped to process what he had told her, she thought silently for a moment, removing herself from Steve and Bucky's comforting grasp to stand tall to Tony.

"As long as it comes out of whatever trust fund I'm sure you've already set up for me." She offered, it only seemed fair to her. Tony went to argue but Hermione quickly put up her hand to silence him.

"Nope, I'll pay for it." Hermione insisted stubbornly before adding, admittingly, "From the money you gave me."

"Hermione, I get a tax write-off from it. Stark Industries will get a tax write-off from it. Really you'll be doing me a favour." Tony swore, Hermione knew that he was just trying to make her feel better and when she went to argue he added. "Also technically I have about 16 birthdays to make up to you so this will just be me making up for lost time."

"I wouldn't argue about this Hermione," Pepper told the young witch. "Tony can be very persistent."

After a lot of internal debate, Hermione agreed with a huff. "Fine."

"Great now that that's settled I'm starving." Happy exclaimed already up and out of his seat to help Pepper get the garlic bread out of the oven.

"I'm actually surprised you guys cook," Hermione mentioned to Tony and Pepper. "I figured you guys would be too busy and have a chef or something."

"Well, I did before Pepper and I became well…Pepper and me. But Pep loves to cook and I like to eat so it's a match made in heaven." Tony said, walking5 over to the oven.

"It also allows us, or at least me to maintain-" Pepper slapped the back of Tony's hand with a wooden spoon when he tried to grab a piece of garlic bread from the tray before Pepper could plate them, "Some sense of normalcy."

"Can I set the table?" Hermione asked, eyeing the large dining room table. Quickly beginning to reminisce over her family dinner's before well…

Tony, Happy, and Pepper all looked at each other knowingly as they all knew damn well they never ate at that table. They would either sit at the kitchen island doing work while eating or watch the news while sitting on the couch. But seeing Hermione look at the dining room table with that all too familiar look in her eyes they knew that traditions were going to be changing.

"Sure, utensils are all in the top drawer beside the sink and placemats are…" Pepper had to think for a moment about where she put them. She knew Tony had ordered some at one point because he got into a 'kitchen accessory' mode on Amazon one night. Before remembering she put them on the very top shelf above the fridge. "Above the fridge, maybe one of your soldier boys could help you reach them." The redhead teased as Hermione blushed at the term 'your soldiers' as she headed towards the fridge and realized she was indeed too short to reach.

Bucky, being ever the charmer, leaned over Hermione's smaller frame and grabbed the placemats with ease. "There you go, doll."

"I'll 'doll' you in a minute." Hermione jokes, elbowing the man on his non-metal arm. Before collecting the appropriate amount of cutlery and began setting up the table. Steve and Pepper brought over a bowl of garlic bread and Caesar salad respectively. Happy brought over a large plate of spaghetti and meatballs before going back to help Tony bring a pitcher of water and 6 water glasses. Tony had to whisper to JARVIS to find out if they even had a pitcher let alone its location.

"Well this looks great thank you, Miss Potts," Steve thanked politely as everyone began digging into their food.

"Thank you, Miss Potts," Bucky added quickly. Hermione smiled at the politeness of the two boys, no doubt drilled into them by their mothers at a young age.

"It's Pepper guys really, there's no need for the formality." Pepper insisted, Hermione smiled at the quaintness of the mismatched family they had put together.

They all ate in silence for what seemed like forever, the only sounds to be heard were the sounds of chewing and utensils scraping against their plates. It was kinda nice she thought, that even people like Captain America and Tony Stark still have awkward family dinners.

"So what's going to be involved in these lessons? I heard something about a malt shop and sock hop," Bucky asked, trying to break the ice, Hermione giggled slightly at the pathetic attempt to break the ice but decided to give him a break nonetheless.

"They were popular places for young people to hang out in the 50's, or so the movies have led us to believe." Hermione explained, "But I was thinking, movies, presentations and lessons on historical events, actually visiting places that have become landmarks, like Disney World, anything major you've missed, believe me I'll cover it."

Bucky groaned at the word presentations.

"What Bucky means is, he didn't love the sitting still and learning aspect of school." Steve explained, slapping his friend upside the head for being so rude as to groan at the ideas of someone who merely wished to teach them.

"Don't worry, I've learned with Harry and Ron how to make lessons interactive and fun. It's always better to learn in a practical setting then a boring classroom." Hermione assured the dark haired soldier with a look that told him it was okay to not like certain aspects of learning and that she did not judge him for it.

The rest of the dinner was a pleasant affair, the awkwardness slowly and painfully faded. As everyone laughed and shared random stories from their pasts, Hermione looked around at her new makeshift family and smiled. It wasn't the family she pictured just a few dasy ago, but she was genuinely truly happy with the family surrounding her.

It was a far cry from those perfectly normal 3 person dinners she had grown so accustomed to. But it was new and though it was weird it was perfect, like the beginning of a bad Tony punchline. 2 super soldiers, a witch, an iron man, an assistant, body guard, and a green scientist with massive anger issues walk into a bar…

It wasn't much…but to Hermione, it felt like home.

The All-Father watches his golden haired son look at him with pleading eyes. In all his years, Odin never thought he would see the day that Thor pleaded for something in regards to Loki. The raven haired boy he had once called his son looked at him with the same eyes, begging for a chance. In his thousands of years, Odin never thought he would see the day that

A. Loki and Thor were on the same page

B. That Loki would beg.

He briefly contemplates having a guard light this so-called "character letter" on fire, however it intrigues Odin. 'Someone from Midguard is willing to advocate for my trickster son,' the All-Father thought to himself, looking at his son Loki, still thinking this must be some trick. 'I must know how mad this harlot must be, to fall for Loki and his lies.'

Odin rips the top of the 'envelope' as he had come to understand the name of it, there was no wax seal with a house name, something so customary on Asgard. Technology has advanced far beyond what even the All-Father could have ever imagined. He folded open the centered halves of the written page, and began to read aloud, allowing for Loki and Thor to hear those words that they wished to be taken into consideration.

My Dearest All-Father,

I hope you can forgive my familiar greeting however being your apparent adopted niece, I felt it was appropriate. My name is Hermione Maria Jean Granger-Stark-Carter of Midgard, daughter of Helen and Anthony, adopted niece and goddaughter of Loki Laufeyson. 14 years ago, Loki Laufeyson came into my life and changed it for the better. He was an uncle, friend, confidant, and role model to my younger self. 5 years ago, I discovered I am a witch, and for years without my knowledge, Loki taught me to control my abilities. I am now the brightest witch of my age and fit into this world more than I ever thought possible, it was not without its challenges. This is because of my Uncle Loki.

This amazingly wonderful man made me feel surrounded by love and support in a world where I was so alone. The man who would quote 'The Princess Bride' endlessly, took me out for ice cream when the other children bullied me, taught me how to ride a bike and skate. The man who introduced me to science and ancient forms of literature. Whenever Uncle Loki was around me, I could be whoever I wanted to be without judgement.

Now before you ask, no, I did not know that he was the Trickster God of Lies, and honestly if you had told me that before the events of the Battle of New York I would have laughed in your face. This is the man who everytime we went out to eat and saw a homeless person, he would buy them food as well, a man who would help older folk cross the street, and if he ever saw a person eating alone, he would ask them to join us. He used to tell me 'it's important to listen to everyone's story, because you can meet so many people with so many lessons, just waiting to be heard.'

But that is just how I grew up with him in my life. While the actions of The Battle of New York cannot be ignored, I implore you to consider that while this was a devastating turn of events, this does not reflect him as a person.

You see, I am a midgardian witch, and we have a terrible curse called the imperious. This curse takes away the free will of the person it is cast upon and the caster takes control of the person's very being. This is what happened to Loki, a mad titan and a wizard from my realm that I could not identify, took control of Loki's mind. Loki's actions at this time were not his own and therefore should not be held accountable for his actions.

I believe this began around the time that Thor was banished to midgard as that is when the visits to me became infrequent and his behaviour shifted. While I understand this is hard to believe, if given the chance I can prove it to you through a form midgardian of wizard technology called a Pensieve. I am willing to submit my memories of the event to you to prove that what I say is in fact true.

I know that Loki has disappointed you, I know that feeling all too well, because of this mind control he missed my late parents funeral, his best friends in the entire world. I know you do not know me and do not have to believe me. But trust me when I say that he would never have let anything stop him from being there to support me and commemorate my parents in my time of need.

Loki Laufeyson is a good, kind and honest man. I know his actions reflect poorly on you and on Asgard but irregardless of that he is still your son. You saw him on Jotunheim and felt connected to that abandoned child. You raised him as your own, you watched him grow, seeing his struggles and successes. And for actions far out of his control you would lock him away? I implore you to give him a chance. If you don't believe him, then give me a chance to show you how wrong you have been. If not me then I can name a half a dozen of Thor and I's new colleagues that would confirm and agree with what I have stated above.

On a personal level, please do not lock up my uncle and throw away the key, for Odin forbid, execute him. I have seen the man he truly is. Even if you will not have him on Asgard, I know that with time Midguard can be a great place for him if you choose banishment. Let him prove himself to be a man worthy of Asgard, of your family name, and I promise you will not regret it. For once Loki Odinson is in your life, he's there for good, and for the better.

And to you my dear uncle, I love you and miss you. I can only hope that these are enough words to demonstrate just how truly incredible of a person you truly are. Even if this letter does nothing and people ridicule your character just know that I will always know you as my amazing, gentle, warm hearted and extremely loved Uncle.

Warmest Regards,

Hermione Maria Jean Granger-Stark-Carter

Odin looked up from the pages and for the first time in centuries…was completely speechless. He looked to Thor who seemed to be fighting back his emotions behind his authoritative demeanour. The All-Father looked over at Loki not knowing what to say as he saw free tears streaming down his adopted son's face.

The All-Father did not know what to say but he did know this, turning to his sons, "I need to meet this Hermione Stark."

To Be Continued…

*LINEBREAK*

I sincerely hope you enjoyed that chapter!

Okay so as far as the last chapter's poll question, I am so disappointed in you. Luke won, yay for him *instert sarcastic eye roll* this brings our still impressive score (for me anyways) to:

Delaney - 11

Luke - 4

This week's poll question is: Is Miraculous Ladybug a kid's show or a show that began as a kids show but has become a show for teenagers and young adults?

Delaney: I think this show is 100% for adults. I can admit that the first 2 seasons were definitely targeted towards kids. However as the audience has show a significant increase in teenager and young adult viewers. The storylines have become more complicated (ie, you have to watch previous episodes to understand what is happening in a current episode). The jokes have increased their sexual tension between the two characters and overall the show while still suitable for children has become a show more geared towards teens. The show has a very original concept and has only continued to build on it's lore and backstory with every new season. I am going to just add that Luke has a Hate On for Miraculous Ladybug because he is so sick of hearing me talk about how good the show it. This show overall demonstrates that lines can be blurred with children and adult television, and that writers can create shows suitable for all audiences and age groups.

Luke: Miraculous Ladybug relies on the most overused trope that is only found enjoyable by children, which is a variation of the miscommunication trope. Two characters can't tell each other their secret identities for reasons that aren't elaborated on, they both pine for one of the others identities. This premise is entirely idiotic and becomes extremely frustrating and worn out by the second episode. A good example of a show that started as a kids show, but later became a show enjoyed by older audiences is Ben 10, which features transformations, but later becomes mature enough to feature galactic scale civil wars, and even the destruction of the entire universe twice, the show proved itself capable of growing up with audiences, which is something that Miraculous doesn't seem capable of, given that my almost 9 year old cousin doesn't even like the show. All in all, the show is based on a stale concept, that evolved into a stale show, that continuously proves incapable of living up to whatever expectations the fans of the show seem to have for it.

We are slowly starting to run out of topics to argue about so I would love to get some suggestions from you guys on what you want Luke and I to debate. We will even give you a shout out for the question if it is used. It can be anything, it doesn't have to be Marvel related. Feel free to comment it, or message me privately. I can't wait to hear your suggestions.

That's all for me, I won't give you a timeline because if I do I'll just keep disappointing you and myself! But you can bet it'll be before Christmas! *insert nervous laughter and nervous Debbie Ryan hair tuck* I hope you are all doing amazing and are looking forward to the next chapter!

Once again message me or comment if you are interested in being the new ghost beta for the story! I look forward to chatting with you

Love you guys!
