The rescue team consisting of the DSO and BSAA piled into several trucks in route to the facility. Helena and Leon had only hoped that neither of the children were harmed. The pain from the beating she had received earlier that day had disappeared thanks to the adrenaline she was feeling. Leon had still wanted her to get checked out, but she wasn't going until the children were out of that facility.
"Alright. Leon, Jake, Sherry, Jill, and I will plant some bombs. Helena will find the kids and get out there. Rebecca will be waiting here in case anyone's injured." Chris says as all the trucks pulled into the garage. Chris put some C4 on the security door and blew it open, the two teams storming the place and splitting up. Helena went by herself, her gun drawn as she tried to locate the two teens. She hid behind walls, taking guards down from behind. One guard was talking in his earpiece about Aliya.
"Yeah, I'm going to grab both kids now and get rid of them," he says, not seeing Helena sneak up behind him and putting him in a choke hold.
"Don't even think of alerting anyone. Where are the kids?"
The guard couldn't do anything except point straight ahead as the alarms started blaring, letting her know that the facility was on high alert and knew they were there.
"Bring me to them." she says, pushing the soldier ahead and pushing her gun into his back. The soldier shakily walked forward, knowing better than to do anything to try and disarm her while she had her gun pressed against him. He brought Helena down several hallways until they came up to a steel door with an ID card scanner.
"Open it."
The soldier scanned his badge, and it was at that moment that Helena hit him on the head with the butt of her gun, knocking him out cold and opening the heavy door.
"Helena!" Aliya says as she saw her, rushing over to hug her.
"Hey, are you two alright?" Helena asks, seeing the dried blood all over Aliya and checking both teens over for injuries.
"No, we're fine." Trevor says awkwardly. It was weird for him to see Helena genuinely caring about Aliya now that he knew the two weren't related at all.
"Alright, let's get out of here. The place is about to blow."
"Wait it's gonna what!?" Trevor asks, his voice high pitched as Helena ushered them out of the room, taking the ID badge from the soldier she had knocked out cold.
"We need to hurry guys. They're almost done setting the bombs."
The three ran down the hall, stopping right in their tracks when they saw Natalia standing in their way with a gun pointed at them and Helena aimed her gun at Natalia.
"Aliya, down the other hall are the stairs. Take Trevor and go down a floor, someone will find you and help."
"Okay, yeah." Aliya says, taking Trevor around the corner. However, instead of listening to Helena and getting out of there, they stayed hidden, watching the interaction.
"You have been a thorn in my side lately, agent Harper. She's my daughter, let me handle her." Natalia says as the two stood still, pointing their guns.
"Some mother you are, using your own kid as an experiment. Mother of the year right there!" Helena says with a scoff.
"You two have no idea what you're dealing with. She's dangerous and I'm just trying to keep everyone safe."
Helena rolled her eyes, taking the safety off her gun as she prepared to shoot, "I'll take my chances. She's safer than us than with you."
Natalia was tired of the back and forth and shot her gun, shooting Helena right in the stomach. Helena gasped at the sudden pain, dropping her gun, and collapsing to the floor. It wasn't long before blood started pooling around her on the linoleum floors. Natalia closed the distance between them, kicking her gun away from her but inadvertently kicking it towards Aliya.
"It'll be so much easier to get Aliya now that you'll be out of the way." She says, lifting her gun and Helena closed her eyes, waiting for the killing shot that didn't come. Instead, she heard four gun shots ring out and Helena opened her eyes and saw that Natalia was now on the ground and Aliya was holding Helena's gun.
"Come on, we need to get her out of here," she tells Trevor, grabbing Helena's arm and Helena, using all the strength she had left, picked herself up and let Aliya drape her arm over her shoulders.
Getting Helena out of the hall proved to be difficult considering that Aliya was only eighty pounds and Helena had about forty pounds on her. Even with putting her other arm around Trevor it was still a challenge.
The two managed to get her into an elevator and helped her sit against the wall and Trevor pressed the button for the ground floor while Aliya took her sweater off and placed it on Helena's stomach, dark red blood soaking through.
"Helena, stay with me. Please stay with me," she begged, trying her best to keep Helena awake, seeing that Helena was about to lose consciousness. The two teens jumped when they heard the elevator ding and the door opened to reveal Sherry. Aliya had never been so happy to see the blonde in her life.
"What happened?" Sherry asks, stepping into the elevator and seeing Helena.
"Natalia shot her."
Sherry took over as Helena's crutch and helped Helena stand, letting her lean all her body weight on her.
"Alright Aliya, I need you two to cover me," Sherry says, urging them to go ahead of her while she led Helena down the hall through all the gunfire. Even Sherry was having a hard time helping Helena since the younger woman was practically unconscious.
"You two run ahead. We're right behind you."
The two didn't need to be told twice and took off running towards the garage.
"Leon! Have you seen Sherry?" Jake asks, looking around to see if he could find the blonde anywhere.
"No and Helena isn't out yet either," Leon says, getting worried the longer they waited since Chris had to set the bombs off but wasn't going to until everyone was out of the building.
"Let's go back in for them," Jake said, but they didn't even need to because Aliya and Trevor came running out.
"Leon!" Aliya yelled, nearly giving Leon a heart attack when he saw the blood on the two of them.
"It-It-It," Aliya stutters, clearly in shock and unable to get a single word out but didn't even need to explain because the next thing he and Jake saw was Sherry coming out of the security door half carrying Helena.
Leon felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach as he saw the state Helena was in as he rushed over and took Helena into his arms, rushing to get her into the truck where Rebecca was.
"Alright, let's move out!" Chris commands, getting behind the wheel while Rebecca administered first aid to Helena.
"Here, Leon, give me your jacket." Rebecca commands Leon not having to be told twice as he took his leather jacket off and gave it to the medic, who folded it and placed it under Helena's head like a pillow. Rebecca gently rolled Helena onto her side.
"Alright, there's no exit wound which means that she's only bleeding from this one spot. The bad part is that she's going to need surgery urgently."
Leon looked at Helena, who had become pale and groaned as Chris drove faster. From where she was on the floor of the truck, she could see out the window as the facility blew up in a cloud of smoke and flames. She had begun to shiver as if she was cold.
"She's going to bleed out before we get back to base. We need to find somewhere closer."
"Wait, I know where we are. My moms a surgeon over at East Mercy, just take the next exit." Trevor says as they got onto the highway and Chris looked at them in the rear-view mirror.
"Sure that's a good idea?"
"What choice do we have? Helena doesn't have an hour. She'll be lucky if she makes it another twenty minutes," Rebecca says, looking over as Leon gave her an alarmed look, "sorry."
Rebecca focused on trying to stabilize Helena until roughly ten minutes later when they pulled up to the entrance of the hospital and Trevor and Aliya got out first and rushed inside where they saw Carla at the nurse's station looking over another patient's file.
"Mom!" Trevor yelled, Carla turning and her eyes widening as she saw the two teens.
"Are you two okay!? Whose blood is that!?" She all but screeched as she saw the blood all over their clothes and skin, trying to see if they had any visible injuries.
"Not ours but we need your help!" Trevor says frantically, pulling his mother towards the doors.
"You two come with me!" Carla calls to two of her nurses, who grabbed a gurney and began to follow her.
Aliya and Trevor rushed back out to the truck where Chris and Jill got out and had opened the back to see if they could help Rebecca get Helena's bleeding under control.
"Oh my god," Carla says, having not expected this to happen at all that evening. In all honesty, she had expected Trevor to be either at home or at Aliya's place and now her son was possibly caught up in some sort of crime, "alright, bring her here," she adds, snapping out of her shock and helping Leon get Helena on the gurney.
"GSW to the torso with no exit wound and she's already showing signs of going into shock." Rebecca says as Carla and the two nurses began to wheel Helena inside.
"Monique with me. Emma, take my son and his friend and make sure they aren't hurt." Carla orders as she took scissors and began to cut Helena's shirt to get a better idea of the damage while one of the nurses took Trevor and Aliya to an exam room to make sure neither was hurt. When she cut Helena's shirt, she noticed black and blue bruises on her stomach, which weren't typical of gun shot wounds and made a note to talk with Leon about that later.
"BP is eighty over sixty," the younger blonde nurse, Monique, says as Carla shined a flashlight into Helena's eyes, breathing a sigh of relief when her pupils dilated. Carla moved around Helena's head and carefully inserted a breathing tube.
With the breathing tube inserted, the agent was rushed into surgery and all any of them could do was wait.
