Sasuke's rage seemed to intensify for a moment when he heard the name, but as he looked into Sakura's eyes and saw the fear and sincerity in her gaze, a sudden realization washed over him. His grip on the Chidori loosened, and the electric crackling ceased. He took a step back, shock and regret filling his expression.
"Kakashi," he muttered, almost to himself. The weight of the name is attempting to crush him. "You're leaving me for our old, useless sensei?"
"I'm not leaving you for anyone!" Sakura insisted, growing tired of the cycle. "I'm not leaving you because of him. I'm leaving you because you scare me. And I don't want to be afraid inside my own home." She cried.
Sasuke's anger and jealousy now shifted towards a different target, but the truth of Sakura's words began to sink in. He had allowed his own darkness and instability to create a toxic environment in their relationship, causing Sakura to fear for her safety.
His Chidori dissipated, and his Sharingan deactivated. He ran a trembling hand through his hair, his shoulders slumping in realization of the damage he had caused.
"I've become a monster," Sasuke whispered, his voice heavy with self-loathing. "I never meant for this to happen, Sakura. I'm so sorry."
Sakura could see the genuine regret in Sasuke's eyes, but she remained wary, knowing that their problems ran deep and wouldn't be easily solved.
"I know you're sorry, Sasuke," she said, her voice filled with a mix of sadness and resignation, tears still streaming down her face. "But sorry isn't enough. Your actions scarred me deep. I can never be relaxed when I'm with you or the others. You caused me my sanity." She tried to keep the tears from escaping her lids, but she cannot. "Just please, let me leave. We're done."
Sasuke's shoulders slumped further, and he nodded in defeat, the weight of his actions and the consequences of his behavior bearing down on him. He took a step back, his anger and jutsu dissipating.
"I understand," he said, his voice heavy with regret. "I won't stop you from leaving, Sakura. You deserve better, and I've hurt you enough."
As Sakura turned to continue packing her bags, Sasuke remained in the room, feeling a profound sense of loss and self-loathing. He knew he had driven the person he loved away, and he was left to confront the darkness that had consumed him.
