He stopped his revisiting of the past when his feet brough him to a familiar place. His feet dragged him to the house where Sakura lived the past year.
The door opened when the sole occupant sensed his chakra. He didn't even tried to mask it. He wants the man inside to know that he was there.
"Why are you here, Kakashi?" The cold voice of Uchiha Sasuke asked him.
Kakashi looked at Sasuke, his gaze steady. "I came to ask why you did that to her."
"So, she came running to your arms?" Sasuke maliciously asked. "And here I was, believing that she left because I was hurting her." Sasuke's voice returned to its dark tone.
Kakashi sighed, the tension between them palpable. "This is not about me and Sakura. It's about what you did to her. She's broken, Sasuke. Physically and emotionally. I want to know why."
Sasuke's eyes narrowed, his Sharingan spinning in irritation. "Why do you care? She's not your concern anymore."
"She was my concern, and she still is. You don't get to hurt her and walk away like it's nothing."
Sasuke chuckled darkly. "You think you have any say in this? She's the one who left me, remember?"
Kakashi's eye bore into Sasuke's, unwavering. "She left you because she was afraid for her life, not because she found someone else. You pushed her to the edge, and I won't let you pretend like it's her fault."
Sasuke's expression hardened. "She left because she's weak. She always has been."
Kakashi's patience wore thin. "She's not weak. She's strong, and you took advantage of that. I want to know what you did to her, Sasuke. Why did she have bruises? Why is she so terrified? What is it about kunai and Chidori? I did not teach you that technique so you can hurt someone, Sasuke!"
Sasuke's eyes flickered, a momentary sign of discomfort. "It's none of your business. She's just a liability. A burden."
Kakashi's fists clenched. "She's not a burden. She's a person, and she deserves better than this. I won't let you get away with hurting her."
Sasuke scoffed, a malicious smirk on his face. "What are you going to do, Kakashi? Fight me?"
Kakashi's eye glinted with a seriousness that made Sasuke pause. "If that's what it takes to protect her, then yes."
The air in the room became charged with tension as the two powerful ninja locked eyes, each one carrying the weight of their own past mistakes. The battle between them was not just physical but a clash of ideologies—Sasuke's twisted sense of power and control versus Kakashi's determination to protect the vulnerable.
As the confrontation loomed, Kakashi couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for Sakura's pain. His own mistakes had contributed to the series of events that led to this moment, and now he was determined to make things right, even if it meant facing the formidable Uchiha.
