The Daily Lives of the Owl Familia: P2:
Skara's First Day: Part 2

Summary: While enjoying their day, the Sirens run into familiar faces.

"Mom-me!" Skara screeched joyfully, "Faster!"

Nora laughed as she caught the swing her daughter was on and gave it a little harder push. Skara shrieked with delight when she went a little higher. Nora caught the swing and was about to push again when she heard a faint noise.

"Is someone tum-tum rumbling?" the older bard asked warmly.

Skara looked at her mother with a bashful smile and a light blush as she nodded. Nora smiled and took her daughter out of the child swing. They left the slaygrounds and began walking toward the local eatery.

"Where do you want to eat, Little Song?" Nora asked.

"Delibo, Delibo!" Skara chanted.

Nora giggled as she headed in the direction of Diablo's. She would never understand why Skara and her friends liked that place so much, but she didn't deny her cute daughter her choice.

The Sirens were nearing the shop when Nora spotted two familiar faces. Nora smiled and waved to get the two other witches' attention.

"Trica! Sabria!"

The Trisights smiled when they saw their friend walking up to them. The mothers then saw Skara and couldn't help but gush.

"Oh my, is that Skara?" Trica asked.

The "knocked-down" looked at the three-eye adult and smiled a big smile. Trica and Sabria couldn't help but 'aww' at this, and Sabria looked at Nora.

"Can I hold her?" the redhead asked curiously.

"It's up to Skara," Nora replied, looking at her daughter.

Skara looked at her mother and nodded. Nora smiled and looked at her friend. Sabria was giddy as the adult bard gently handed Skara to her. The redhead blushed slightly as she hugged the "knocked-down" bard close.

Nora and Trica smiled at this, and then the adult bard turned her attention to her friend. She frowned as she took note of her friend's appearance.

"How are you doing?" Nora asked, loud enough that only Trica heard her.

Trica eyed her friend briefly and sighed as she looked at her wife. She smiled faintly as he saw Skara singing softly to Sabria.

"I'm not going to lie," Trica whispered, "It hasn't been easy."

Nora could guess; when 65% of your income came from orders made by the Emperor's Coven, anyone could be in trouble. Still, the bard was confident in her friends and wanted to be there for the Trisights if they needed her.

She was about to tell her friend this when they heard Sabria say, "Is someone hungry?"

Nora and Trica looked at the two in time to see a slightly red Skara nod shyly. Nora smiled at this and walked up to her friend. Skara looked at her mother as Nora gently took her from Sabria.

"We were heading to lunch when we ran into you two," Nora told her friends. "Would you like to join us?"

The joy in the Trisights' eyes faded, and Sabria sighed.

"We would like to," the redhead informed her friend, "But we have an important business meeting soon. So we can't afford any detours."

"I understand," Nora said, then smiled as an idea came to her. "How about you and Boscha come over for dinner tonight?"

The Trisights looked at each other and then at Skara. Nora couldn't stop the sly smile that appeared on her face. She had known her friends long enough and could guess what they were on their minds.

If she's honest, she wasn't against Boscha getting "knocked-down" for a day or two; she could see the stress in friends' eyes. She was hoping if the Trisights took her up on her dinner offer and that could lead Boscha to agree to use a rejuvenation potion, it might just help her friends like it was doing with her.

"We will think about it," Trica replied after a second, and Sabria nodded. "Now, if you will excuse us, we really need to get going."

Nora smiled and nodded her understanding.

"Bye-bye!" Skare said cutely and waved.

Trica and Sabria gushed at the sight and then took their leave. Nora watched her friend leave and looked at Skara with a smile.

"Shall we?" she asked warmly and giggled when Skara's rumbling stomach made her smile bashfully.

So, I'm on the fence and considering adding another chapter to Skara's story before moving on. Let me know what you all think about this. Also, you probably have noticed that my updates have slowed. The reason behind this is because I have got a Hernia and it's making it hard to even sit at my computer and work. I will try to get back on track, but it will probably be slow going.
