A/N I know this one is the same perspective as the 6th chapter but I have good reason. As I said before in the last chapter, I want to keep these next few in Pyrrhia. Any who, as always enjoy!

Chapter 8

Mist

The rain swirled around her talons, whisking them away higher into the clouds. She smiled. It had been so long since she was in a storm. Her wings felt lighter with each stride she did. Down below, just in the mouth of the cave were the others. They sat down watching her with curious faces.

Mist looked down to them, hovering in place. She held out her talons to the sky and waited. A second later a blinding bolt of electricity came down and touched her. The energy from it moved throughout her body, glowing white as it spread out across her wings. She closed her eyes and smiled. She could feel the power surge through her.

She let her talons fall to her sides, hovering a little longer. The rain slowed, turning into a slight drizzle. She dived down to the alcove and landed softly.

The dragons looked at her. "What?" she asked.

"How did you do that?" The green one said.

"Oh. It's my tribe's power." She walked into the shelter of the cave.

"You mean Animus magic?" The sparkly white one asked.

"No. We haven't had an animus in a long time." Mist flicked her tail. "My tribe has the ability to control the weather. And use lightning."

The black one, Mist presumed to be Moon, looked back at the one called Tsunami. Tsunami flashed something with her scales.

"How did you do that?" Mist looked to Tsunami's scales.

"What?" Tsunami asked.

"Your scales. They lit up." Mist pointed at the scales.

"Oh. Seawings have phosphorescent scales that can light up. That's their underwater language." Tsunami flashed her scales again.

"Hm. Interesting. Kind of like the Shimmerwings. They too have an underwater language." Mist sat down on her hind legs. "They call it sign language. It's quite easy to learn."

"Anyway. Mist I'm Tsunami. Head of the school." The Seawing stood proudly. "This is Clay, Starflight and Sunny. They are teachers."

"Pleased to meet you." Mist bowed her head lightly.

Tsunami went on. "This is Moonwatcher-."

"Moon." Moonwatcher said.

" . This is Qibli, Winter, Turtle, Kinkajou, Peril, Sky and Wren."tsunami pointed to them each.

"I'm sorry but I only see seven of them. Where is this Wren dragon?" Mist looked around.

"Not a dragon." A voice called from behind Sky. A small Figure hopped off the dragonets back and walked over, on two legs.

Mist's eyes widened. "You have humans too?"

"We call them Scavengers." Winter explained. Wren shot him a look. "Well, used to."

"On Grairokora we have humans. Whole colonies of them. They speak dragon as well. But wow. You look different than them. They also usually have books with them whenever they travel. Usually to help with the draconic language. We made translators for them a while ago." Mist looked over Wren.

"Yes she's a very good pet." Sky smiled a goofy smile.

"Excuse me. Who's the pet here?" she swatted at Sky's wings. Sky laughed.

Mist looked off into the distance. "I need to get home."

"Don't mind me asking," Winter started. "But I couldn't help but notice your posture. Are you royalty?"

The others looked at Winter in disbelief. Mist nodded, still looking in the distance. "Yes. I'm Princess Mist of the Stormwings. Daughter of Queen Thunder."

"Wow." Qibli breathed.

Mist turned to them. "If there really is something happening on Grairokora I need to be there. I need to go. But I need help."

Moon looked to the others who nodded. "We'll help." she said.

"Thank you." Mist sat down again.

"Starflight," Moon said. "Could you bring all the scrolls you have on Grairokora?"

The blind dragon nodded. "Yes of course." He then hurried off in a direction.

"Mist, is there anything about Grairokora you can tell us? Where is it?" Qibli asked.

"Not really. It's big. I can draw a picture of it." Mist looked over.

"Here." Moon pulled a scroll and a feather out of the black bag around her neck.

Mist took it. She unrolled it flat and started drawing her home. First was the cold north lands of the Sheildwings. She continued on to the border of the Silver kingdom which then lined up with the Underlying desert. Past the desert was divided into two. The Folded hills, where the Duelwings lived, and her home. The Thunder Mountains. She then drew the last bit of it. Islands upon islands. A long stretch of sea between each. There the Shimmerwings lived.

Once she finished drawing in all the mountains and rivers she handed it to Moon. Moon took a long look at it. "What about clouds?" She suddenly asked. "Which way did they go?"

Mist thought about it for a second. "East to west."

"Jerboa said she found you on the Western beach. That means you would have had to come from that way." Moon tapped her tail.

"Right." Mist said, a little hope fluttering in her chest.

"So we need to head west?" Qibli asked.

"Yes." Moon said. "It looks like if we go west we could hit here first." She pointed to the Shimmerwing Islands.

"That works." Mist looked at the map. "It's almost a straight shot from the Shimmerwings to the Thunder Mountains."

"Good." Tsunami said. "When do we leave?"

"We?" Starflight emerged from the darkness. His talons were holding about five scrolls. "Where are we going?"

"Yeah. We can't leave the school." Sunny chimed in.

"Yes we can. If the students get a break we should get a break. Besides, they have off for the next two weeks. We can help." Tsunami countered.

"I don't think Webs would be very pleased with that idea." Clay said.

"He can do it. He watched over us when Kestrel and Dune were gone, didn't he?" Tsunami groaned.

"Yes but there were five of us. Not thirty five." Clay pointed out.

"Besides, don't you have tests to grade?" Sunny asked.

"Nope. I graded them all." Tsunami had a look of triumph.

"What about Glory?" Clay looked at the three of them. They looked back in confusion. "What?"

"What about Glory? She can't come with us. She has two tribes to rule over." Tsunami stated.

"Who says I can't come?" A voice said. A dragon, appearing out of nowhere, came into view. Her colors were bright and almost moved across her sleek body. In some way she looked like Kinkajou.

"I am my own dragon. Also I've put Grandeur in charge for a while. I need a break from the Nightwings." She said sitting down.

"How long have you been here?" Tsunami threw her wings up.

"Long enough to know I'm coming with you if you four go." her frill turned red.

"Thank you, your majesty." Mist bowed.

"Let us get some things for this journey." Moon headed back into the school with the other students. Mist sat on the ledge looking out as the clouds moved away from her, bringing the sun shining down.

This was it. She was finally going home.
