The next morning, Pineapple Chunks, Scheherazade, and Rock Justice woke up in their respective sleeping bags. First things first, Pineapple Chunks and Scheherazade reminded their friend of his name and their friendship. They also recapped to him everything that happened since they'd arrived in Lemuria.

Rock Justice nodded, grateful to have been caught up to speed. "Merci beaucoup, mon amis. I'm so glad to have you as my friends."

Scheherazade nodded back and signed, "Of course, Rock Justice. We're always here to help."

"So what's the second round going to be today?"

"Well, the first round yesterday was Un, Deux, Trois, Soleil; so maybe the second round will be something similar along those lines."

Pineapple Chunks craned his neck at his American counterpart and raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you sure about that? That sounds pretty repetitive."

"I can't think of any other game that would be the second round," Scheherazade signed back. "Besides, I can't help but get this feeling that we're following a theme for the rounds, namely that these will be French children's games."

Rock Justice pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement. "You might be onto something there, Scheherazade. Let's keep that in mind as we prepare for the second round."

Shortly after Rock Justice said that, the speakers began crackling to life.

"Good morning, participants," the voice from the speakers began to speak. "I hope you've mentally prepared yourselves for the day ahead of you. Our second round of the competition is coming up shortly."

Everyone just murmured amongst themselves and speculated on what the second round of the competition could be.

"But first, it's time for breakfast," the voice from the speakers continued. "You can't go wrong with a little breakfast. I want you all to line up and head for the canteen in fifteen minutes. Chairman out!"

Soon, the speakers went silent; leaving everyone to try to talk amongst themselves. The first round had been harrowing, but they couldn't imagine what the second round could be like, not when they had to figure out what the second round even was. As the remaining 150 participants gathered their thoughts and speculated on what the second round of the competition could entail, they couldn't help but feel a mixture of anticipation and anxiety. The voice from the speakers had mentioned breakfast before the next round, so they knew they had a short window of time to prepare themselves mentally and physically.

With just fifteen minutes until breakfast time, Rock Justice felt an idea come to him.

"Mon amis, it's time for a meeting," Rock Justice announced.

"You mean, right now?" Scheherazade asked.

Rock Justice couldn't quite understand what it was that Scheherazade had signed at him, so Pineapple Chunks had to translate.

Rock Justice, having just now understood what was asked. "Yes, right now."

All three of them huddled together, brainstorming ideas and discussing possible scenarios based on their theory that the rounds were following a French children's game theme.

"Do you think this will be another physical game like Un, Deux, Trois, Soleil was?" Pineapple Chunks asked. "Or do you think there'll be more of a psychological component to it?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure," Rock Justice replied. "Whatever the second round may be, we need to stay focused and trust in our abilities as a team."

As they continued to discuss and strategize, Rock Justice couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with his teammates. They had come together in the face of adversity and were determined to make it through whatever challenges lay ahead. With only a few minutes left until breakfast, they decided to split up and gather more information from the other remaining participants. The ones who were asked all gave about the same answer: either they had no idea what was in store for them or they just speculated about the round, hoping that whatever their guess was would turn out to be correct.

The speakers began crackling to life again.

"Time's up, participants," the voice from the speakers began to speak. "It's been fifteen minutes. Now it's time for breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Line up for your meals right now. Chairman out!"

Pineapple Chunks, Scheherazade, and Rock Justice soon reunited and joined the line for breakfast. As they waited, Pineapple Chunks couldn't help but notice the tension in the air. The other participants seemed just as eager and anxious as they were, each lost in their own thoughts about what the second round could entail. While they waited in line, Scheherazade squinted at two of the people in front of her and tried to fixate on the movements of their lips. From the angle she was standing at, the Ivorian and Senegalese Changed Dailies seemed to be gossiping at each other about Rock Justice and how out of place he seemed to be. Despite not having much common ground to stand on, both of the African U.Z.Z. chiefs nevertheless were bonding over their suspicions regarding the French amnesiac.

"Is it just me or does something seem off about Number One?" the Ivorian Changed Daily asked her Senegalese counterpart.

"I know what you mean," the Senegalese Changed Daily replied. "Doesn't it seem a little too convenient that he can't remember anything about his past or his name? I'm guessing he's faking having amnesia so he won't have to be accountable for his crimes."

"I don't know about that, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were true. Also, doesn't he seem a little too jovial? I wonder if he's a plant or something."

"Maybe he is. It sure wouldn't surprise me."

Scheherazade was of two minds about this. On one hand, she still had her suspicions about Rock Justice. Sure, he seemed genuine in his demeanor and support now, but at the end of the day he was still Maxime Peyron; and no amount of brain damage could change that. On the other hand, everything about him seemed to be on the up-and-up. He'd formed a genuine bond with her and Pineapple Chunks. Was it right for the other contestants to be gossiping about him behind his back?

As Scheherazade wrestled with her thoughts about Rock Justice, the line slowly moved forward. Pineapple Chunks glanced around and noticed that not only were the other participants gossiping about Rock Justice, but they also seemed to be sizing each other up. It was clear that tensions were rising as everyone prepared for the second round of challenges.

"Scheherazade," Pineapple Chunks signed at her.

"Yes, Pineapple Chunks?" Scheherazade signed back.

"Have you been hearing-" He stopped himself upon realizing his mistake. "-sorry, have you been noticing that the other contestants have been talking about Rock Justice?"

"Yes, I have. Do you think they're right about him?"

"No, what makes you think that?"

"Just wondering. I'm hoping we can prove them wrong."

"Me too."
