Washington Platform: Ka'an vs Akiza III

"Alright Miss Akiza, let's have that rematch now." I said.

"Alright!! I'm gonna beat you this time Grumpy Gus!" She mocked.

My face deadpanned. "If you call me that, I'm going to kick your butt up and down every deck this platform has."

"Yea, yea. Let's get this started already!" She activates her duel disk and set her deck. "And I'm going to go first!"

"Fine." I activate my duel disk and set my deck in it.

"Let's duel!" We said together.

"I draw! I set one card facedown and set a monster in defense mode. I end my turn." She said.

Two card backs formed on her field.

"Alright then, I draw. I activate Shard of Greed, this gains one Greed Counter for every one of my standby phases, and when I get two or more, I can send Shard to the graveyard to draw two new cards." I explained.

"Yea, yea, I know that already. Just get on with it." Akiza exasperated.

"Then I set three cards facedown, and finally I summon Cyber Valley in attack mode."

A medium sized robotic lizard formed on my field.

"That ends my turn." I finished. "Now let's see how you plan to answer my moves this time Aki."

"HEY!! ONLY SHELLY'S ALLOWED TO CALL ME THAT YOU GRUMP!!" She huffed and grabbed at the top of her deck. "I draw! Aw man. I set one card facedown and end my turn. Your turn Grump."

I noted that remark, "I draw. My Shard gains one Greed Counter." I began. "Heh, now I summon Mirage Dragon in attack mode."

A slender dragon with yellow armor formed up from the card in a slithering fashion. It's weapon was a sickle like tail.

"Now time to clear your board. Battle! Mirage Dragon attack her facedown monster."

"I activate my facedown trap card!" She began.

"Not so fast! Mirage Dragon forbids you from activating trap cards during the battle phase. Did you forget already?" I asked.

She fidgets her fingers, "maybe…,"

Mirage Dragon flew across the field and slashed her defense position monster in half.

"Tch! My monster is destroyed." She said.

"I end my turn. Now what can you do?" I said.

"I draw. Finally. Since I have no monsters on my field, I can special summon Junk Forward in attack mode."

A mechanical warrior with white armor formed from the card.

"Then I normal summon Junk Anchor in attack mode, and because I've summoned, I can special summon Turbo Booster in attack mode."

A small monster of white and red armor formed on the field, and was followed by a small yellow jet-like platform flying up from its card.

"Now I can synchro summon! I tune level one Booster, level three Forward, and level two Anchor to synchro summon level six Stardust Charge Warrior!"

The three monsters went into the air, Anchor turned into two green glowing rings, Booster and Forward went into them becoming four stars, then a beam of light shot straight down and formed another monster clad in white and blue armor, with mechanical wings.

"Now Charge Warriors effect activates. I'm allowed to draw one new card."

I sighed and shook my head.

"What!? What did I do wrong this time!?" She asked.

"You forgot about my facedowns again! I activate the trap card, Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare!! Whenever a monster that was special summoned this turn uses an effect, I can negate that effect then destroy it!" I finished.

A swarm of bugs webbed up the field and swallowed up her monster whole.

"Nooo! My only monster!" She slumps to the ground, hanging her head. "I end my turn."

"My turn then, I draw. My Shard gains it's second counter, which means I can send it to the graveyard and draw two new cards. Next I activate my Magical Mallet and return two cards to my deck, reshuffle, and draw two new cards. Now I summon Bull Blader in attack mode."

A dark minotaur with red horns and huge broadsword forms on my field.

"Now battle! Blader and Mirage attack her directly!!"

Both monsters flew forward and slammed into her dealing 3200 in damage. 4800lp

"Aahhh!" Akiza stumbled back a few feet, then shook herself to regain some composure.

"I end my turn." I said.

"I draw. I set one card facedown and end my turn." She said quickly.

"Hm. I draw. I summon Thunder King Rai-Oh in attack mode."

A blue monster made of electrical material and two conductive rings on either side formed from the card.

"And I set one card facedown." I looked at her questioningly. "Alright, battle! Rai-Oh, Blader, and Mirage attack her directly!"

She grins. "I activate the spell, Rebellion! I take control of your Thunder King Rai-Oh for the duration of the battle phase!"

Rai-Oh stopped in its tracks and shot electricity in the path of my other two monsters, halting their advance.

"Hm, fine. I'll set one card facedown and end my turn."

"I draw! I activate my facedown Twin Twister. I discard one card to destroy up to two of your spell and trap cards! I target the far right and the second from the left!" She said.

Two tornadoes formed and moved towards my field.

"I activate my trap card, The Huge Revolution is Over! When two or more cards on the field are going to be destroyed, I can negate and banish that card!"

A stone wall and metal gate off a castle formed to block the effect.

"Dammit! Fine! Now I summon Junk Synchron in attack mode. When he's summoned I can special summon a level two or lower monster from my graveyard. I special summon Turbo Booster in defense mode!" She said then looked at my field.

An orange mechanical warrior formed on her field and then the yellow jet platform also rose again.

"Crap! I forgot his Rai-Oh can negate a special summon!" She said to herself looking at my cards intently.

"She's thinking about something, what could it be? Aw, my Thunder King, so that's it." I thought to myself. "Come on already and continue your move!" I said aloud.

"Okay, now I tune level one Booster and Level three Junk Synchron to synchro summon a level four Underworld Fighter Balmung in attack mode!" She said.

The two monsters went into the air, Junk turned into three green glowing rings, Booster flew into them becoming a single star, then a beam of light shot straight down and formed a monster clad in black armor and a huge sword.

"Alright, now we have a duel." I said.

"Now battle! Balmung attack his Thunder King Rai-Oh!"

Her monster swung it's sword and sliced through my monster dealing me 200 in damage. 7800lp

"Hm. Not bad. Now I can activate the trap, Soul Rope, I give up 1000 life points to gain one level four monster from my deck to the field. I special summon Pandora's Jewelry Box in attack mode."

A portal opened and a glowing rope shot from the card into the portal, a white chest with gold trim was brought onto my field. 6800lp

"Anything else?" I asked.

"Nah. I'm done, I end my turn." She finished. "Crap, he's upped his field again, and I'm barely hanging on. What am I supposed to do!?" She thought.

"My turn, and since I have Pandora on my field and my extra deck is empty, I can draw two cards instead of one. I draw. Now I can tribute my Bull Blader to summon my Prime Material Dragon in attack mode."

A six winged golden dragon flew out of the card and circled overhead for a moment before landing on my field.

"Oh no.." She frowned.

"Don't worry too much, now I activate Cyber Valleys effect, it banishes itself and Mirage Dragon to draw two new cards."

The robotic lizard shown with light and power, then it dragged my Mirage Dragon away with its effect as both cards disappeared.

"Wait, you got rid of Mirage, doesn't that mean..?" She grinned.

"Figured that one out quickly enough. But 'why would I do that' is the question you should be asking yourself." I explained.

"Oh yeah." She touched her chin in thought.

"And while you think about that, I activate Pot of Duality, checking out the top three cards of my deck, keeping one then reshuffle the other two. Now battle! Prime Material Dragon attack her Balmung with Prime Stream Burst!"

"I activate my trap Half Unbreak, now my monster cannot be destroyed and I take half the damage!"

Bubbles formed around her monster protecting it and only allowing half the damage through. So the attack dealt 150 in damage. 4650lp

"I end my turn there." I finished.

"I draw." She looked at her hand, then stopped moving. "I have nothing to beat that dragon. Nothing in my hand will help. My Balmungs effect will bring me a monster from my graveyard, but they won't be any good, nothing in my grave can beat his monsters either. What do I do!?" She thought to herself.

"Hey! I'm getting bored over here!" I shouted.

"Oh, yeah, okay." She looked at her field and hand again. "Crap! I have to do something! But even if I get a card back from the graveyard, wait my graveyard, I need a tuner, and the only ones I have are in the graveyard. Balmung, I have to make a sacrifice, just like he did." She thought. "Battle! Balmung attack Prime Material Dragon!" She shouted.

"Hm? How odd." I said to myself.

Her monster flew forward and slammed into my Dragon, then looked up into the Dragon's eyes. My Dragon looked down at her Balmung, then charged an attack and let loose on her Balmung, destroying him and dealing 300 in damage to herself. 4350lp

"Now since Balmung is destroyed, I can special summon a monster from my graveyard!"

"Nope." I interrupted.

"What!? Why not!?"

"Your Balmung wasn't destroyed by a card effect. It was by battle. So you don't get to special summon a new monster."

"Aaaawww. I failed again, my turns over."

"I draw two. I summon Vylon Prism in attack mode."

A crystalline monster with white armor formed on my field.

"Now battle. Prime Material Dragon, Vylon Prism, and Pandora's Jewelry Box, attack her directly and end this duel!"

My Dragon, Vylon, and Jewelry Box flew across the field and slammed into her dealing 5400 damage, ending the game. 0lp

The attack pushed her back several feet, as she braced against the force of the combined blows, then Akiza slumped to the ground defeated.

"Awe man, I can't believe it happened again!"

Sitting down and taking a break, we had some food and drink. Shelly walked over and plopped down beside me.

"So how'd it go this time Aki?" Shelly asked.

"She failed miserably." I answered.

Akiza hung her head and stopped drinking or eating.

"Oh come on Ka'an, you know she's doin her best. Can't ya' give her one good remark, just for me? I'll give you a reward!" She teased.

"She made exactly one good move."

Both of them looked at me expectedly.

"When she summoned three monsters at once to go into Stardust Charge Warrior." I began.

Both girls got an excited look, and Shelly congratulated Akiza for a good move.

"But," I killed the mood, "she failed to take in that I had half my backrow filled. She had Twin Twister on the field but failed to use it. So she lost her first big monster easily." I explained.

Akizas' head drooped again. I took a drink of my water.

"Oh come on! That's all she did right!? You have got to be kidding me!!" Shelly shouted.

"I said the nice thing. Now where's my reward?" My answer was Shelly's fist to the top of my head. "Eeeh!"

Shelly stormed off with Akiza in tow.

"Uh, big sis, what's the deal? Why'd you hit the grump like that. He wasn't lying about how I performed." Akiza stated.

"It was for his grumpy attitude! Stupid jerk!" Shelly answered, pulling Akiza further along.

Akiza looked back at me rubbing my head. She didn't get why Shelly did that, weren't they going out now? She followed behind Shelly till they were clear of earshot of everyone else.

"What is going on Akiza!?" She asked. She never used Akiza's full name unless she was in trouble.

"Wha..what do you mean sis!?" Akiza asked.

"How could you lose to him again!? Didn't we work through all the quirks in your deck?" Shelly asked.

"Uh, yeah, but..I..he's just so grumpy I can't focus when I duel him!" Akiza answered.

A slap to the face got her attention real quick.

"Ah!?" Akizas' eyes unfocused for a moment, then turned to look at Shelly's.

"That is a pathetic reason to lose a duel dammit!! It doesn't matter who the opponent is or how they rub you!! You're just supposed to fight with all you have!!" Shelly shouted.

"Well..yeah..but, every.. time.. I.. see.. him.. I.. think.. about, how.. scary.. he.. can.. be.. so..!"

"So you're scared of him? Silly. He's a huge softy if you get to know him better. He really surprised me when he admitted his feelin's for me, and that kiss.." Shelly's face blushed as she remembered the incident.

Akiza had a look of horror as she tried to imagine the look on both of their faces when that had happened. She gave a shiver at the thought.

"I think I'm going to be sick." Akiza grabbed her stomach and covered her mouth.

"Hey!" Akiza got a thunk on the head for her outburst. "Don't say that about my man."

Akiza dropped her gaze. "I'm sorry. He's..not all bad. He just, he isn't my type." She said suddenly.

Shelly looked at her for a moment, then began giggling. "Hehehehe. That's your reason? How dumb. You know he's taken and he's not interested in you. So why are you worried about that sort of thin'?"

"Because I have feelings for you!" Akiza shouted.

Shelly was good and shocked by this revelation. "Wha..?"
