Oceanica Super Transport: Ka'an vs Steve
"I'll take this duel from here and I'll take her life points as well," I said to Steve.
"Grrr! Ka'an! I will make you suffer for what you did to me! And I'll start by taking that woman's life!" Steve threatened.
"I don't think so, Steve!" I stated.
"Ka'an, my facedown, use it," Shelly said weakly.
"I intend to," I said.
"Duel!!" We said together.
"I draw. I set one card facedown and then activate Shard of Greed. I end my turn." I finished.
A card back and a piece of pottery joined the others Shelly had placed on the field.
"Is that all, and you had so much bravado too. I draw." Steve gloated. "Since I control Card Trader, I can send one card back to my deck, reshuffle, then draw a new card. Next, I activate Dark Door, now we both can only use one monster to attack with per turn, not that it matters since I'm sacrificing Dark Door, Card Trader and Veil of Darkness to special summon my second Phantasm, Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder in attack mode!!" He said.
A large beast with yellow armor appeared on his field, its maw dripping with bile.
"Now battle! Hamon attack that tiger and Raviel attack the facedown left by Shelly! And when you lose a monster by Hamon, you lose 1000 life points with it!" He commanded.
Hamon built energy in its mouth and released a torrent of dark energy down on the tiger destroying it. Then Raviel raised its hand and shot a dark energy beam from it, destroying the facedown card.
"Since you destroyed the facedown monster Command Knight, and sent it to the graveyard, I can activate my trap card, Soul Rope! Now I can give up 1000 life points to special summon a level four or below monster from my deck to the field. So I special summon Pandora's Jewelry Box in attack mode!" I countered.
A light energy stream shot out of the card face and into a portal before it. Soon a white chest with gold trim appeared on the field. 2800lp
"Fine! Not that that creature will do much for you in the long run. I use the field spell to draw two new cards since I have a phantasm on my field! I end my turn!" Steve finished.
"Alright, my turn! Now because I don't have any cards in my extra deck, I'm allowed to draw two cards during the draw phase of my turns instead of one, thanks to my Pandora. I draw!" I explained.
"So that's why you let me decimate your field, so you could gain a draw advantage," Steve noted.
"You catch on quick. Also, my Shard gains a greed counter. Now I turn Pandora to defense mode and set one card facedown. I end my turn." I finished.
"Seems like you still didn't do much for this duel. I draw." Steve said. I activate my field spell, now I can draw two new cards!" He explained. I activate my facedown, Dark Factory of More Production! By sending one card from my hand to the graveyard, I can draw another. Heh, and now by banishing the monster I just sent, Dark Summoning Beast, I can gain a phantasm from my deck to my hand. So now I gain Uria to my hand." He said filled with dark glee.
"So now you have your third phantasm in your hand. You gonna summon it too?" I asked mockingly.
"You just wait and see Ka'an! Now battle! Hamon attack his Pandora!" He commanded.
"I activate Pianissimo! This reduces my monster's attack to 100, and makes it immune to battle and card effect destruction for this turn." I countered.
Hamon built the dark energy in its maw again, while my monster's points dropped to 100 and after the attack was done, the chest was barely scratched.
"Grrr! Fine! Keep your monster! I set two cards facedown and end my turn!" Steve finished.
"Now I draw two cards thanks to Pandora, and since Shard just gained its second greed counter, I can send it to the graveyard and draw two more cards," I said.
"Don't think I'll just let you keep on drawing cards from your deck!" Steve threatened.
"Okay, sure. Now I activate Magical Mallet, returning four cards to draw four new ones." I said.
Steve gritted his teeth at my continued defiance of his will.
"Now I set two cards facedown, then I summon Cardcar D in attack mode!"
A lowrider car came barrelling onto the scene, screeching tires to a halt.
"I tribute Cardcar D to activate its effect, I'm allowed to draw two more cards, but I must end my turn immediately." I finished.
"Finally! " Steve said through clenched teeth. "I thought you were just going to draw your deck away. My turn, I draw!" Steve said.
"During your standby phase, I activate the spell, the Monarchs Stormforth, now during this turn, I'm allowed to use any one of your monsters as tribute material for one of my tribute summons," I explained.
"What good is that supposed to do you now? It's still my turn and speaking of my turn, battle!" Steve began.
"Now I activate the spell, Arrivalrivals! With it, I'm allowed to summon a monster right now!" I interrupted.
"What!?" Steve questioned.
"I tribute your Hamon for my Pyrotech-Mech - Shiryu in attack mode!" I said.
A large rock dragon with purple flames covering its entire being appeared on my field.
"But you can't target my Phantasms with anything while I have my field spell out!" Steve explained.
"But I didn't target your Phantasms, nor did I destroy them with an effect, so I skirted past that card effect," I explained.
"Grrrrr! Fine! Since you summoned a monster, my Raviel's effect gives me a Phantasm token on my field in defense mode." Steve said.
A smaller-looking Raviel appeared beside the larger.
"I activate my facedown trap, Crackdown, and take control of your Shiryu!" He said. "Now your own monster will attack your Pandora itself!" He ordered.
I activate Rainbow Kuriboh from my hand! I can equip it to one of your attacking monsters and from now on, it is unable to perform in battle!" I countered.
A rainbow shimmering chain flew out and wrapped around Shiryu, stopping it in place.
"Fine! Raviel, you destroy his monster!" Steve ordered.
"Since you declared an attack, I'm allowed to activate the trap, Pinpoint Guard! Now I can special summon a level four or below monster from my graveyard, and it can't be destroyed by battle or effects this turn!" I countered.
"I don't care! I'm still getting rid of your draw advantage!" Steve continued.
Raviel blasted Pandora off the field with a torrent of dark energy.
"Since Pandora was a pendulum monster, it goes to the extra deck instead of the graveyard," I explained.
"I don't care. I set one card facedown and end my turn." He finished.
"During the end phase of every turn, Shiryu will burn its controllers' life points for 1000 since he was only summoned with one tribute. So take this, for your ambitions!" I explained.
"What!?" Steve screamed.
Shiryu turned its head and flared its being full of flames and seared off 1000 of Steve's life points. 5400lp
"Now I draw. I set one monster in defense mode and one card facedown. That ends my turn." I finished. "And once again, Shiryu burns your life points."
"Tch!" Steve grunted at the flames licking 1000 of his life points away. 4400lp "I draw! I activate my facedown trap, Jar of Avarice! Now I send five cards from my graveyard back to my deck, reshuffle, then draw one new card." He explained. "Hehehe, hahahahahaha! Do you know what I just drew!? I have regained my Hamon! And now I'm about to summon a nightmare!" He spat with vile in his tone. "I activate Polymerization from my hand! This allows me to send Raviel, Hamon, and Uria to the graveyard to fusion summon Phantasm Emperor Trilojig in attack mode!" He said.
A pool of swirling colors formed behind Steve, then all three monsters turned into flares and shot back into the vortex of color, moments later, a huge flash of energy shot out, as a large purple armored monster flared into existence on his field.
"I activate my facedown trap, Solemn Judgement! At the cost of half my life points, I negate the summoning and destroy your Emperor!" I countered. 1400lp
"No!" Steve screamed as his new monster immediately began to get sucked back in on itself, wrenching and convulsing till it exploded. "Grr! I set two cards facedown and end my turn." Steve finished while fuming, while another 1000 life points left him thanks to Shiryu. 3400lp
"I draw. What's the matter, Steve? You were doing so well with those dark gods too." I mocked.
"Shut up!" Steve yelled.
"You should realize, those that solely rely on power, are eventually defeated by that same power. I end my turn." I finished. "But don't think you're off the hook, thanks to my Shiryu you stole," I said.
Steve growled his frustrations out as he took another 1000 damage. 2400lp
"I draw! I activate Monster Reborn, to regain my Twin-Headed Wolf in attack mode!" Steve said.
A hellhound with two heads appeared on his field.
"Now battle! Wolf attack his facedown monster!" He commanded.
The Wolf lunged forward and dug its claws into the card, destroying it.
"During the battle phase, I'm allowed to special summon my Juregado in attack mode!" I countered. "And by doing so, I gain 1000 life points to boot," I said. 2400lp
"Fine. I end my turn." Steve finished, but still losing another 1000 damage. 1400lp
"I draw. Now I tribute Command Knight, to summon my Prime Material Dragon in attack mode!" I said.
A six-winged golden dragon flew up from the card face, swooping around overhead until it landed on my field. A gentle golden glow filled the room, covering every surface, and kept expanding beyond to eventually cover the entirety of the Oceanica, inside and out, but it wasn't done there. Shelly's wounds hurt less and began to heal from the glow covering her.
"What is this?" Shelly whispered.
"Ka'an! What have you done!?" Steve shouted furiously.
"This is the power I possessed before the goo attacked, before the battles I had to endure during the last days of planet Earth, before I ever gained a god card. I was a protectorate, a guardian, a defender! And now I have the power to protect everyone!" I explained. "Now battle! My dragon will destroy Shiryu, but first, my Juregado will be tributed to give him 1000 extra attack points! Attack!" I commanded.
My dragon flared all six wings, drawing energy from each tip into its maw. Then released it all onto Shiryu on Steve's field, destroying it and dealing him 500 in damage. 900lp
"Oof!" Steve grunted.
"I end my turn." I finished.
"I draw. I set one monster in defense mode and ended my turn." Steve finished.
"So much for your grand comeback and wasting us all for defying you." I taunted, "I draw! Battle! Prime Material Dragon attack his facedown monster!" I commanded.
My dragon flew forward and snatched the card off the field, crushing it in its jaws.
"You just destroyed my Giant Germ! Now you'll lose 500 life points for that!" Steve countered.
"I don't think so, whenever my Dragon is on my field, all effect damage is reversed to gain instead. So I just gained life points instead." I counter-explained.
A shield of energy formed around me and the vile spewed from the Germ impacted the shield, sizzling to nothing. Then the shield glowed and I gained 500 life points. 2900lp
"Tch! Fine, but I gain two more Giant Germs to my field in attack mode!" Steve explained.
Two more amebae, gooey-looking atoms formed on his field.
"I end my turn." I finished.
"I draw! Now I turn both Germs to defense mode and set one monster in defense mode as well. I end my turn here!" Steve finished furious.
"I draw." I began, then looked at the card I just got. " I got it," I said.
"What?" Steve questioned.
"This is the beginning of the end for you. I now have all the cards I need to summon my god card!" I explained.
"You lie! You don't have enough monsters on the field to sacrifice a god for!" Steve explained.
"And you'd be right about that, and I'm certain you've sensed it, but I am also not holding it right now either," I said.
Steve just looked at me with a quizzical expression, but the hate radiating off him was no less than when I first arrived.
"Now I summon Cosmic Compass in attack mode!" I said. "And when he's summoned, I gain one Compass token for each of the monsters you control, and that means I gain three new tokens since you control four monsters," I explained.
A creature with four different direction indicators formed on my field, then three smaller compasses soon followed.
Steve's eyes went wide as my field filled up completely with just one card.
"Next I activate the spell, Card Advance. This allows me to look at, and rearrange the top five cards of my deck to any order I want. Next, I activate the spell card Shelly left on her field, the one that will be your downfall, One True Name! Now by naming the top card of my deck I can gain one god card from my deck to my hand." I explained.
"No! You can't!" Steve went from mildly confident to horror-stricken.
"I call for Jar of Avarice. Oh look, it's the right one. Now I gain my Obelisk from my deck to my hand." I said.
Steve recoiled at the idea that I now had my most powerful card in hand. His eyes darted from me to everywhere he could look, then they fell to Shelly's beaten form behind me as she stood on her own two feet again.
"WOMAN! DON'T LET HIM DO THIS! PLEASE!!" He screamed at Shelly, but she wasn't listening.
"Now thanks to Advances effect, I can tribute summon this turn after I've already performed a normal summons," I explained.
"No!" Steve's whole being shook from realization.
"I tribute Cosmic Compass and two tokens on my field to summon my most powerful card, Obelisk the Tormentor in attack mode!" I said.
I held the card over my head as the three monsters all streaked into the glowing card face. Then a beam of energy shot straight up into the sky above as thick clouds began to build. There was a moment of silence, then the rumble of thunder overhead. Steve's eyes had followed the light as it went up, and was nearly blinded by the light that shot down. A crashing presence was felt as the light struck the deck. Then the form of a massive monster began to appear, as the light seemed to shatter and dissipate. Obelisk stood just behind me, glowering down at the opponent opposite of us. Steve's face lost all color, his pupils shrank to pin pricks, and he nearly jumped out of his skin at the sound of my voice.
"Battle! Obelisk, Prime Material Dragon, attack his two Giant Germs!" I commanded.
Both monsters went forward, my dragon taking flight and charging an attack in his maw. Obelisk raised his hand and it charged with power. Then they both released it at the same time on his germs, destroying them.
"And don't think I forgot about what those Germs do, now I take, I mean, gain 1000 life points due to their, and my dragon's effects!" 3900lp "That ends my turn." I finished.
Steve's eyes barely left Obelisk's form, but he did finally draw a card. "I..draw..," looking at it, "I activate Allure of Darkness to draw two new cards. Now I banish a dark monster from my hand. I set one monster in defense mode and end my turn." He finished shakily.
"I draw! I activate Dragonoid Generator by paying 1000 life points. Now I can gain a Dragonoid token and during the end phase, you gain one as well." I explained.
A metallic dragon-like egg formed on my field next to Prime Material Dragon.
"I'm allowed to use this effect up to twice per turn if I so choose. Now I have two tokens on my field." I said.
Steve's pupils shrank even more, which didn't seem possible.
"Now I activate Obelisk's ability, by sacrificing two monsters on my field, I can destroy all the monsters on your field in one strike! Go Obelisk! Fists of Fury!"
Now both of Obelisk's hands glowed with power, and then he slammed them down on Steve's field, clearing it of all remaining monsters. The shockwave threw Steve clear across the expanse of the open space of the Oceanica.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhh!" He screamed until he slammed into the steel wall on the far side.
"Now battle! Prime Material Dragon go and attack his life points directly! Prime Stream Burst!" I commanded.
All six wings beat furiously to reach Steve who was now partially embedded in the bulkhead of the ship. Good thing he had the power to withstand dying on impact. My dragon built up a mass of energy in its maw and just as it reached him, flared its wings to halt midair right in front of him.
"SHELLY STOP HIM PLEASE!" He screamed her name, but it was drowned out by the sound of the attack landing on its mark. His whole being was engulfed in the attack, and when it finally stopped, there was nothing left of Steve's body and a hole in the wall where he was last at.
I stood defiantly against what that man stood for, and as the attack finished, there was a glow coming from the other side of the hole that was just made. The sun was rising on a new day.
"Ka'an!" Shelly shouted at me, getting to her feet, her leg wasn't broken anymore.
She moved to me with a faint limp, then threw her arms around me and hugged for all she was worth.
"Ka'an!" Her voice cracked and she was crying crocodile tears into my shoulder.
I didn't move. I wanted to hold her, to kiss her, to throw her down here and now and take her for all I was worth! But I couldn't, I just stood there and let her cry into my shoulder. A few moments passed, and she finally stopped crying, realizing I wasn't holding her close to me like a real boyfriend should.
"Ka'an? What's wrong?" She asked me, worry all over her face.
I said nothing. I looked her in the eyes and I just couldn't say anything to her.
"Ka'an! Ye're scaring me! What's wrong!?" She demanded this time.
All I could do was close my eyes, and look away. Then I stepped back from her and turned away.
"Ka'an?" The hurt in her voice was breaking my very soul.
I had no choice, I walked away from her. I almost ran straight to the elevator, just to get away from her faster, but I kept a steady pace, defying my body, its urge to run and grab her up into my arms.
"KA'AN!?" She screamed for all she's worth.
I never turned back, otherwise, she would have seen the tears in my eyes running down my face. I stepped onto the elevator, hit the indicator for the ground floor, and the doors shut behind me to her yelling my name again. I couldn't stand it, I crumbled to the floor of that small place and wept.
