Hetty and Granger were out watching a meteor shower.

'Have you ever believed in the whole 'make a wish on a shooting star' stuff? It's always sounded stupid to me.' Granger asked.

'A few times. Once, I wished to not be teased so much at school, and another time, I wished to be taller. Though, there was 1 other wish I silently made that I didn't think would ever be granted.' Hetty replied.

'What wish would that be?'

'To get married.'

Silence.

'That's, very sentimental of you.' Granger slightly stammered.

'Have you ever made a wish?' Hetty asked.

'Once. And it was to fall in love. And for a time, it was granted. Until the woman double crossed me. Stopped believing in them after that.'

'That's awful.'

'Though. I never did expect to believe in them again, until we made what we had work.'

'And now?' Hetty asked.

'I think wishing is, not that dumb.' Granger replied.

They cozied up next to each other, and enjoyed the beauty of the falling stars.
