A/N: I only own the OC
Thank you for reviewing.
I was sitting back stage and helping the seamstresses fix various problems, make sure the new outfits looked correct, and other things that came up. I was standing there when someone called my name, and I turned to see Toni walking up in her new outfit. She hugged me as she walked up.
"I love it." she said and I smiled at her.
"I'm glad. It fits perfect." I said and she smiled at me.
"I am so happy you are here now so I can work with you again." she said and I smiled at her before walked off with her husband. I knew both of them from WWE.
I was sitting at a table looking at emails and travel things when a stagehand walked up with a note and a cup of coffee. I took it and opened the note.
My gear looks great. Hope the coffee is good. ~ Wardlow
I smirked and drank some of the coffee, and to my surprise it was actually good.
I was almost done when Phil walked over and I saw everyone eyeing us. I rolled my eyes as he sat next to me.
"You are causing a scene." I said and he chuckled.
"Good." he said and I rolled my eyes as I finished with my stuff, and closed my laptop.
"To what do I owe the honor?" I asked him and he chuckled.
"Joe and a few others want to go out tonight. You up for it?" he asked me and I nodded. We weren't flying out until the next day so I didn't care what time I got back to the hotel tonight. We were talking until it was his time to go out and he wanted me to walk with him to go out. Phil and I were closer than what most people realize. I was there for him when he broke up with Beth, and he was there for me when Wade broke up with me.
"You going to keep me company now?" a voice said as I stood there once Phil walked out. I looked over to see Daniel (Cash) from FTR standing there. I shrugged and hoped up on the crate with him. I was talking with him about him and his girlfriend. He was happy with her, but he hated that he didn't get to see her a lot anymore since he came back. I knew that David (Dax) felt the same about his wife and kids. I had always been lucky because I had dated wrestlers who traveled with me, but then again... that might have also been a downfall of the relationship.
He had to go get ready for his match, and I knew that Phil's match was still going so I decided just to wait where I was at. I was fine being invisible. I was checking m e phone when someone bumped my knee. I glanced up to see Wardlow had walked past and shot me a smirk over his shoulder. I wasn't sure why, but I found myself returning a small smile.
"You can't tell me you don't have your bodyguard around?" a voice asked me and I looked up to see MJF standing in front of me in his truck. I had to admit that he was in shape, but still a dick. I pointed towards the monitor and Phil was about to give whoever he was wrestling a GTS.
"I guess I will have to keep you company." he said and jumped up onto the crate before I could tell him no. He was talking about matches and things when Phil came backstage. He offered me his hand and I got done with MJF was talking.
"Great conversation." I said and left him sitting there as Phil chuckled.
"What did you do to get him to like you?" he asked me and I shrugged.
"Whatever it was I wish I hadn't." I said and he smirked.
I went back to make sure everyone was alright, collect my things, and go find Phil and Joe to go out tonight. I was walking back to their changing rooms when I rounded a corner and smacked into MJF. It was obviously not my night.
"Come on, we are going out, and you can come." he said and took my arm. I shrugged him off and shook my head no.
"No, I have plans." I said and he chuckled.
"No one has better plans than me." he said and I rolled my eyes. He just was not going to give up.
"I do." I said and stepped around him.
"You can't keep turning me down." he said as I walked away.
"Yes, I can." I said and he smirked.
"I will wear you down." he said and I chuckled.
"Good luck." I said as I kept walking until I got to Phil's changing room. I knocked and Joe answered the door. He hugged me and let me in.
"He's almost done." he said and I shrugged as I sat my stuff down.
"He can be worse than a woman." I said as Joe started laughing.
I talked to him about Jessica and how she was doing. I had gotten to know Joe and his wife over the years through Phil. They were some amazing people, and especially as many times as we crashed on their couches when we were in LA. Phil finally got ready and we headed to the parking lot.
"Who else is going?" I asked them.
"Christopher Daniels, Bryan, Adam, Britt, Ruby, Daniel and David." Joe said and I nodded. I was glad that Britt and Ruby were at least coming out with us. We got to some bar they had been to several times, and everyone else was already there. I sat with Britt and Ruby as the guys swapped stories, talked wrestling, drank, and eventually ended up playing pool.
"Any lovers yet?" Ruby asked me and I chuckled. She had been there for my break up with Wade.
"No." I said and Britt smirked.
"Just wait... someone will come around." she said and I chuckled.
"MJF is trying." I said and they both chuckled.
"He broke up with his fiance about a year ago and has been on the prowl ever since." Britt said as she sipped her drink.
"Yeah, he's..." I was saying when Ruby cut me off.
"Obnoxiously over confident?" she asked me and we both started laughing because she wasn't wrong. I had fun talking to them and I had forgotten that sometimes it was fun to be on road.
We got back to the hotel and most everyone had gotten wasted except me and Phil. Phil didn't drink, and I didn't drink much. I had to help Ruby to her room, and then was going to mine. I ran down to the lobby to get something I had forgotten, and grabbed the next elevator. I was waiting for the doors to close when someone stepped on. I looked up to see Wardlow get on and he gave me a small smile.
"How are you?" he asked me and I nodded.
"Tired, and realizing I don't miss putting drunks to bed." I said and he chuckled.
"I did the same to Max about an hour ago." he said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Sorry, he just likes to..." I was trying to say the right words when he helped me out.
"Be a pain in the ass and thinks it flirting." he said and I started laughing again.
"Yep, best description yet." I said and he chuckled.
"Oh, thanks for the coffee." I said as the doors opened and we were on the same floor.
"You're welcome, thanks for the awesome gear." he said with a smile.
"It's kind of my job." I said and he chuckled.
"Good night, Rae." he said and I told him good night before he went to his room. Wardlow was not what I expected when I first met him, but then again most wrestlers were never what they seemed... Wade Barrett being case and point.
Wardlow POV
I got back to my room, showered, and got ready for bed. I was laying there and I kept thinking of Rae. She was so nice, funny, and different. She was real. I loved that she rocked her curly hair, wore glasses with frames way to big to for her face, and didn't even try to dress trendy. I wasn't sure why, but I really wanted to get to know her more.
