A/N: I only own the OC
Thank you for reviewing.
I was backstage making adjustments to outfits, fixing things, and making sure that everyone looked their part. I was almost done when I turned to see Phil and AJ walk up. I instantly hugged her.
"Thanks." Phil said and I rolled my eyes, but hugged him. He handed me a tshirt, and I made it into a muscle shirt. He put it on and had to run for a photo shoot. I was going to walk AJ out to the arena before the show started.
"So, you and Wardlow tonight?" she asked me and I shook my head no.
"What happened?" she asked me.
"I was going to get food once I got back last night, and I ran into him and a blonde woman making out on the elevator." I said and AJ looked surprised.
"Yeah, so probably free tonight." I said she shook her head as she rolled her eyes.
I talked to AJ until it was time for the show to start. I got her to her seat and came back. I was still helping out people, and Toni came to be about her jacket. I had just finished it when I turned around and was staring at someone's chest. I looked up to see Wardlow standing in front of me. He was in a navy suit, and looked well put together... too bad all I can say see is that blonde wrapped around him.
"Can I help you?" I asked him.
"I wanted to talk." he said and I chuckled.
"I don't think there is much to say, unless it involves your outfit for tonight." I said and turned around, but he gentle caught my elbow.
"Two seconds, please." he said and I sighed.
"I need to talk to him about his outfit tonight. Gimme a minute." I said to the team and they all nodded. I motioned for him to go and followed him to a small alcove.
"Yes?" I finally asked him and he sighed.
"What you saw last night..." he was saying and I stopped him.
"You don't owe me an explanation. We are just coworkers." I said and he pursed his lips. I could tell that's obviously not what he wanted to hear.
"I don't want that." he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Well, I'm not quitting." I shot back and he sighed.
"That's not what I'm talking about. I am talking about last night and what you saw." he said and I sighed. He was going to force this conversation.
"I don't know how else to say that I don't care, because you are an adult who does what they want. Apparently, last night you wanted a blonde woman, and that's good for you." I said and started to walk away, but he blocked me. I sighed and put my hands on my hips. I was getting annoyed because I was done with this conversation.
"I didn't want her. She came onto me. I actually have no idea who the fuck she is." he said and I raised an eyebrow.
"She got onto the elevator with me, and then kissed me. I didn't want her. I don't know who she is or even where she came from. I was more upset that you saw that." he said and I nodded.
"Right." I said and he ran his hands over his face.
"You don't believe me?" he asked me.
"I don't know." I finally said and he let out a small growl.
"Rae, I have been looking forward to tonight not because I am winning a belt, but because it meant that I was going to celebrate with you. I had fun the night we went out and had dinner. I like texting you. I wanted to steal you away last night because you looked amazing, and take you to dinner then. I have been trying to find the perfect place for tonight. I like being near you, talking to you, and... I like... you." he said and I could see the emotions in his eyes.
"Please, just go to dinner with me tonight. If you don't believe me or it doesn't feel right then we are coworkers, but please... go with me tonight." he begged me and I sighed. I looked into his eyes and I could see the sincerity in them.
"Fine." I finally said and he looked so relieved.
"Go get ready." I said and he kissed my forehead before jogging off. I rolled my eyes and walked back to my area.
"Your brother is looking for you." one of the team members said and I nodded.
"I will be back." I said and they all nodded as I walked towards backstage to see what was going on. I found him sitting with Joe... which was funny because they were fighting tonight.
"You were looking for me?" I asked him and he nodded as Joe gave me a quick hug.
"I wanted to see if Wardlow had tracked you down?" he asked me and I raised an eyebrow.
"He came and asked us where you were." Joe clarified and I nodded.
"Yes, he did and yes, I'm going to dinner with him." I said and Joe chuckled as he held out his hand. Phil took out 10 and handed it to Joe.
"Love you both, now I have work to do as well." I said as I walked away while they were arguing. I swear they could have been a married couple.
The show was going well when Max walked up. He looked either upset or annoyed and he was carrying his robe.
"Everything ok?" I asked him. He sighed and handed me his robe. I saw the hole and quickly patched it for him.
"Thanks." He said and I nodded.
"It's kind of my job." I said and he smirked.
"Dinner tonight?" He asked me and I shook my head.
"Already have plans." I said and he nodded.
"I had fun last night... can't wait to do it again." He said and I nodded. He actually wasn't that bad to be around. We talked for another minutes before he walked away to get ready.
"You have too many people interested in you." Bruce said from behind me. He was my assistant that maintained travel and made sure everything was good at road shows. I shook my head.
"Trust me, I wish I didn't." I said and he smirked.
