Chapter 48: Family of 4

Santana's POV

*Tuesday 1st August 2023*

The last few days have been quite interesting for my wife and I since we finally have Xavier with us. We had got into such a good routine with Jaxon that things were normal before but with a new baby in the house now, it's different, but in a really good way. I am just so happy to have my little family all together now and more importantly, I am so glad I am no longer pregnant. It was just getting too stressful for me this time with my pregnancy so I'm happy it's over now.

I'm currently just tidying up a few things in my bedroom right now while both kids are with Brittany in the other room. My whole schedule has changed since our second child arrived so I have to make the most of my time alone even if that means changing the bedding and doing laundry at random times of the day.

"Hey" Brittany smiles at me as she walks into the bedroom.

"Hi" I smile back. "Where are the kids?" I ask as she has entered the room alone.

"Amazingly they are both napping right now at the same time" she smiles again.

"That's good" I nod.

"I have something for you by the way" Brittany tells me.

"What is it?" I ask curiously.

"It's a present for you" she says as she hands me the wrapped gift.

"I see that but what is it for because it's not my birthday and our wedding anniversary isn't this month either" I point out.

"It's just a present babe because I love you but I guess if you want to you can call it a push present" Brittany shrugs.

"Oh, ok" I smile.

"Are you going to open it then?" Brittany asks amused as I don't do anything with the gift.

"Right, yeah" I laugh. I was too busy thinking about how much I love Brittany and appreciate her giving me a gift that I didn't even realise I was in my own little world, just standing there doing nothing.

"If you don't like the present then I've got the receipt so we can exchange it" she replies.

"If it's a present from you then I guarantee you I'll like it and won't need it exchanged" I assure her. Brittany always knows what I like and she just gets me so I never need to exchange or return gifts from her.

"So, do you like it?" Brittany asks me curiously as I open the box and take the necklace out that's inside.

"I love it, thank you" I tell her as I lean in to hug my wife tightly.

"I know it's not much and I gave you a necklace after your last pregnancy but this was just a little something to symbolise this chapter in our life because our family is growing so we're moving even further forward in our lives" she smiles.

"It means a lot to me so again, thank you" I say as I kiss her cheek.

"Hey, come on. Don't be so mean, babe" Brittany laughs. "The least you could do is give me a proper kiss on the lips or something" she adds as she pulls me towards her.

"Ok" I laugh before leaning up to peck her lips.

"That's better, thank you" she smiles.

Brittany, Jaxon and me are all about to go to bed now. Xavier is already asleep in his crib so the rest of us are about to get into bed. It is quite early in the night so technically Brittany and I wouldn't ordinarily go to bed this early but we're both tired so we figured it wouldn't hurt to get some sleep while the kids are asleep. I'm not saying we'll fall asleep right at the same time as Jaxon but once he's asleep we might watch a movie together and then go to sleep.

"Ok, bedtime now honey" I tell Jaxon as I lift him into his crib.

"No sleep" Jaxon mumbles.

"Buddy, you have to go to sleep so you're well rested for the next day ahead. I mean mommy and I will be going to sleep as well" I tell him.

"Yeah, we will" Brittany adds.

"No" Jaxon mumbles again.

"Shall mommy read a story to you first?" Brittany asks Jaxon.

"Ok" Jaxon smiles at Brittany as he eagerly nods his head.

"Ok, let's do that" Brittany tells our son.

As soon as Brittany picks out a book to read to Jaxon, she sits by his crib and begins reading. Once I'm finished my bedtime routine, I join them both. Brittany doesn't really get to read too far into the book before Jaxon drifts off to sleep. She then puts the book down and we both kiss Jaxon goodnight, carefully making sure we don't wake him. Brittany and I then get ourselves into bed, grabbing my laptop in case we want to watch a movie together.

"So…another day of being parents of two, how are you doing?" Brittany asks me as she puts her arms around me.

"I love having Xavier finally here but I'm not going to lie, there's times when it's just not easy for me at all parenting two. For example, when you were in the shower this morning, I was breastfeeding Xavier and then Jaxon started crying so I didn't know what to do. Obviously, I knew I had to comfort Jax but I couldn't just pick him up when Xavier is already in my arms feeding" I explain.

"You must have managed well babe because I didn't know that. When I came out of the shower and joined you all, literally everything looked good" she tells me.

"I would ask how you're doing but I think it's pretty obvious you're handling this parenting thing like a pro" I smile. Brittany is so great with our children and she doesn't seem fazed at all that we're now looking after two little ones doing double the work we did when it was just Jaxon.

"It might look like that on the outside but I do panic a little inside at times" Brittany laughs. "At the end of the day though, all we can do is our best and our kids do seem to be happy" she states.

"Yeah, I agree" I nod.

"So, what do you want to do now?" my wife asks me.

"Do you want to watch a movie or are you not really in the mood?" I ask.

"A movie sounds good as long as we can watch it staying cuddled like this together" Brittany smiles.

"Uh…duh!" I smile. I wouldn't want to relax in any other way than in Brittany's arms.

*Wednesday 2nd August 2023*

My day so far hasn't been too bad. Brittany and I both got up with the boys when they woke up and we spent some time together with them which was nice and we all just hung out for a little bit. I've just finished in the shower now, after my amazing wife gave me an hour to myself. She said she would look after our sons for the full hour on her own so I could have some time for me. There wasn't really anything exciting that I really wanted to do with my time so I decided to use the moment alone to just shower and do some of the things I can't do when I'm parenting the boys. It's not even been a full hour yet but I've decided I don't need any more time on my own, I just want to be with my family now.

"Can I ask you a question babe" I say as I walk into the bedroom from the master bathroom.

"Sure" Brittany smiles.

"How would you feel about helping me get back into shape and losing this baby weight?" I ask her. The whole time I was in the shower, I couldn't help seeing just how much weight I've gained during my pregnancies.

"I can help you if it's really what you want but you don't need to rush this honey" she assures me.

"I know but I'm at the heaviest I've ever been at. I think I've put on 4 stones during this pregnancy so I wouldn't mind getting rid of it" I point out.

"I don't think it's been 4 stone babe" she shakes her head at me.

"I'm not exaggerating, I think it's been about that" I say seriously. "Anyway, I thought you could help me because you like to keep fit anyways and you'll help motivate me. There is no way I'll be able to lose the weight on my own without some kind of plan in place so you helping me with that and encouraging me will help me."

"If it's something you really want then of course I'll help you" Brittany smiles. "All I am saying is that there's no rush to lose weight if you don't want to do it right now."

"Thank you" I smile. "So, do you want some breakfast right now?" I ask my wife.

"I do but I'll make it if you want" Brittany smiles.

"No, I'll make it for us because you've done way more than me recently with parenting the boys" I tell her.

"Maybe so but you spent 9 months pregnant so I still have a lot of time to make up for so my time so far isn't even a fraction of what you've done" she shrugs.

"Ok, fine" I say giving in. There is no point arguing over something silly like that so I'll just let Britt do what she wants to do.

"Shall we get the boys and head downstairs then?" Brittany asks as she walks over to Xavier's crib to pick him up.

"Yes, we shall" I smile. "Do you want to go downstairs now Jax and get some breakfast?" I ask my son.

"Yes" Jaxon smiles, nodding his head eagerly at me.

"Let's go then" I say while scooping Jaxon up in my arms and then the 4 of us go downstairs. "I should probably start as I mean to go on so we should have something healthy to eat" I point out.

"No problem, I can sort that out" Brittany smiles at me as she puts Xavier down in his little baby bouncer and starts making breakfast.

00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

*Friday 4th August 2023*

I'm currently just spending some time with Jaxon and Xavier in the living room. Jaxon is sitting with me on the couch as I try to rock Xavier to sleep in my arms. Xavier didn't sleep too well last night so I'm really hoping he might fall asleep soon and I can put him down for a nap. Jaxon on the other hand slept quite well, even with Xavier crying a lot in the night, so I'm at least grateful my oldest son slept well. At some point today, I do think Jaxon should nap as well because he's still quite young himself so he needs a lot of sleep.

"Do you think Xavier is almost asleep?" I ask Jaxon as Xavier's eyes start to look a little heavy.

"Yeah" Jaxon nods.

"Are you getting tired buddy" I ask Xavier as I place a gentle kiss to his head. Jaxon then leans forward and does the same thing which immediately melts my heart. "You're going to be an awesome big brother" I tell Jax as I kiss his head.

"Ok" Jaxon smiles brightly at me.

"Shall we take Xavier upstairs and put him down for a sleep and then see where mommy is?" I ask Jaxon.

"Yeah" Jaxon nods, getting excited at the mention of Brittany.

"Come on then" I say while standing up with Xavier before scooping Jaxon up in my other arm. We then go upstairs to my bedroom.

"Hey" Brittany smiles as we walk into the room.

"What were you doing up here for so long, I thought you were just using the bathroom?" I ask my wife confused.

"My intention was to quickly use the bathroom before joining you all downstairs but my phone rang and I ended up on the phone for a lot longer than I meant to" Brittany explains.

"Who called you?" I ask curiously.

"Jack from work" Brittany replies.

"Oh, what did he want?" I ask.

"He needed some help with something and what I'm about to say isn't going to make you happy" Brittany sighs as she begins changing out of her sweatpants.

"Why, what's going on?" I ask sceptically.

"I really hate to ask this babe since you've just given birth last week but can you look after both kids for an hour or so because I need to go into work now. There has been an accounting nightmare and they don't know what to do other than ask me to go in and take a look" Brittany says.

"Yeah, of course I can" I smile.

"This will be the first time on your own with both of the kids so are you sure you're ok with that?" she asks me.

"We're going to have to get used to it at some point because we both can't be here every hour of the day so it's fine" I assure her.

"I would take Jaxon with me to lessen the chaos but I think it would be quicker to head in myself and see what's going on" she explains.

"Honestly Brittany, it'll be fine. It's not like you're leaving me here while you do a full shift. I will be fine with both kids" I smile.

"Ok" she nods.

XXX

Brittany is at work now so I'm at home with the boys. It is the first time I'm at home on my own with both children so it feels weird but I don't mind it. Usually if one of us needs to go out then they'll take Jaxon with them so the other hasn't got a week-old baby and a one-year-old to run around after or Jessica will come over but it's not practical today. Plus, they are both my children so I should really be getting used to taking care of both of them at the same time on my own.

"Xavier is still asleep so what should you and I do now Jax?" I ask my son.

"Play" Jaxon replies, smiling at me.

"What do you want to play?" I ask him as I scoop him up in my arms.

"Ball" Jaxon tells me.

"Ok, we'll play with the ball" I smile at my son as we make our way over to the toy box to get his ball out. We then start gently kicking the ball back and forth to one another.

After playing with Jaxon for a while, Xavier woke up so I made Jaxon something to eat for lunch and then fed Xavier. The 3 of us then spent some time together. Another couple of hours have gone by now so both kids are napping again. I'm just spending some time in the kitchen, preparing some of the ingredients we need for dinner later when the front door opens and then closes again a few seconds later.

"Britt, is that you?" I ask as I leave the kitchen and walk to the hallway.

"Hi" Brittany mumbles as she walks towards me and buries her face in my neck.

"What's wrong honey?" I ask concerned.

"I have major mom guilt right now" she sighs. "The whole time I was at work, I kept thinking about leaving you and the boys on your own. Xavier is so young right now and Jaxon is at such a crucial age so the guilt I felt not being with them was unreal" she explains.

"Honey, you were just doing what you had to do. Plus, you weren't even gone for that long so I wouldn't feel guilty at all. You were helping some people at work for a couple of hours, you weren't away for a 12-hour shift or something" I reassure her.

"I still feel really awful as a mom and a wife for not being here today with you all" Brittany states.

"Britt, please don't feel bad" I tell her as I soothingly rub her back. "The kids really didn't see a difference today because Xavier spent most of it sleeping and Jaxon took a nap after lunch anyway so you really didn't miss much" I explain.

"Ok" she nods.

XXX

Both boys are finally asleep right now for the night so Brittany and I are making use of the free time to spend a little time together and just have a moment to relax. We're just sitting on the couch together, watching some TV. We've got the baby monitor with us if either of the boys need us so we're comfortable enough to relax in another room without them.

"So, what was it like without me for a few hours today?" Brittany asks curiously.

"I mean I think I did ok on the parenting front myself but on the wife front, I kinda missed you a lot so it wasn't a great feeling at times" I point out. "We've been together so much recently, almost inseparable so it was weird without you."

"Yeah, we have spent a lot of our time together and even before the birth, we were always around each other when we were working so today was different" Brittany agrees.

"Come here" I say as I softly turn her head towards me.

I smile at my wife and she smiles back before I lean towards her, kissing her. Brittany wastes no time in kissing me back as her hands start roaming around my body. We continue kissing for some time as our hands go places they haven't been in a while.

"We should stop" Brittany says as she pulls out of the kiss.

"It's ok. I mean I know I said no sex right now but I'm fine with us kissing" I smile.

"You might be fine with it but I'm not" she tells me as she adjusts her position on the couch.

"You don't like us kissing?" I ask, slightly offended.

"No, it's definitely not that. It's the opposite babe so if you get any more handsy with me, we'll have a situation I can't get rid of" Brittany admits.

"Oh, you mean you're starting to…"

"Yeah" Brittany nods, not letting me finish my sentence.

"I guess things were getting a little heated and we haven't kissed like that in some time so I'm not surprised we're feeling some things" I point out.

"I'm sorry this always happens" Brittany sighs.

"Please don't apologise because it's completely fine. Honestly, I would be offended if I didn't turn you on or you didn't find me attractive when we kiss like that" I smile.

"I know but I'm an adult not some horny teenager so I should be able to deal with things like this a lot better. I mean I should be in control of my body and I'm not" she states.

"I actually really like it because you literally don't get turned on by anything but me. There could be a naked model sitting in front of you and you wouldn't be affected at all whereas I could just peck your cheek and it would do things to you" I tell her.

"I just can't think of anyone else in the same way, it's just weird to me. I mean I know a good-looking person when I see one but it's never the same with how I feel when I see you" Brittany shrugs.

"Like I say, it's cool so don't worry about it" I smile as I kiss her cheek.

Brittany's POV

*Sunday 6th August 2023*

I'm just trying to make breakfast for Jaxon and Santana but we've not got a whole lot of options this morning so unfortunately they won't be eating anything exciting. I think we're going to have to go to the grocery store soon and get some supplies. We've managed to get by so far with what we have at home and our kind family bringing us some food supplies but I think today, we're going to have to make a trip to the store to get what we need before we wake up tomorrow and have nothing to eat.

"So, what are our plans for today?" Santana asks me from her position sitting at the kitchen table.

"I think we need to go out and buy some food because we're running a little low. I mean I know you hate going to the grocery store but needs must I'm afraid" I tell my wife.

"It's ok" Santana smiles.

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"Honestly, it's fine. I am just so happy not to be pregnant anymore that even the most boring of tasks is ok with me. I will happily go around the grocery store instead of taking another day of being pregnant" she replies.

"Ok" I smile.

As soon as we've all eaten breakfast, we go upstairs to get ready for the day. Santana and I take turns in the bathroom to shower and do what we need to do while the other one looks after the boys. We then get Xavier and Jaxon dressed for the day before we start to get ourselves ready with doing our hair and makeup. I'm already changed now so we're just waiting on Santana finishing getting changed and then we can leave.

"As much as grocery shopping bores me, it will be nice today to just get outdoors and wear something different. I've spent the last few days at home in sweatpants so this is a nice change putting some different clothes on right now" Santana states.

"Yeah, I agree" I smile.

"So, in my workout plan, does this walk around the grocery store count as exercise?" Santana asks me.

"I mean I did have some ideas for our workout today but if you want to we can call this your exercise and do tomorrow what I had planned for today" I shrug.

"Sounds like a plan" Santana smiles.

As soon as Santana is ready, we get ourselves and the kids downstairs and into the car. We load up the car with everything else we need before I drive us off to the grocery store. We arrive pretty quickly so as soon as I park up, Santana and I get out and then get the kids out of the back.

"So, how are we doing this then because we have two kids and a cart to handle all at the one time?" Santana asks me.

"Jaxon can sit in the cart and Xavier will be strapped to me in the baby carrier" I shrug.

"Ok, I guess you have it all figured out supermom" Santana smiles at me.

"I do so let's get going" I smile back. I strap Xavier to me and Santana carries Jaxon over to get a cart and then we start shopping.

"Where to now?" Santana asks me.

"Do you want to pick up some fruit babe?" I ask my wife.

"Sure" Santana nods as she starts picking out some fruit. "Oh my god" she says in surprise a minute or so later.

"What's wrong?" I ask confused as she turns around to look at me.

"I think my ex just walked in" she replies.

"Which ex? Greg?" I ask curiously.

"I mean I say ex but is he really my ex?" Santana shrugs. "I was lying to myself and everyone else the whole time we were dating because I was pretending to be straight so does he count as an ex?"

"The guy saw you naked so I'm going to say yeah" I say slightly annoyed.

"Not that you're bitter about me sleeping with people before you or anything" Santana teases.

"I know it's stupid but it's just not a great feeling that he got there first" I sigh.

"Maybe not but you'll get to get there last since you're the only one I need now" Santana shrugs.

"As morbid as it sounds, I guess that's true" I chuckle.

"We should maybe go in the other direction for the moment because I wouldn't know whether to walk past or say something so let's just avoid him" Santana replies.

"I don't think we can, he's coming straight towards us" I state confused. If I was Greg right now, I wouldn't want to bump into Santana.

"This is going to be awkward" Santana mumbles to me.

"Hi Santana, hi Brittany" Greg says as he stops in front of us.

"It's Gavin, right?" I say causing Santana to laugh. I know it's childish but it's my wife's ex so this is weird for me.

"It's Greg" he replies.

"We know, that's just Britt's humour" Santana replies. "So, it's been a while" she points out.

"Yeah, it has" Greg nods. "How are you?" he asks.

"I'm doing ok" Santana shrugs. I'm not going to lie, I'd like her to be a tad more enthusiastic about our life because I think it's pretty perfect, so ideally my wife should feel better than 'ok'.

"Obviously you and Brittany are still as tight with each other" Greg points out.

"Yeah, we're definitely close" Santana states, smirking at me. Close isn't even a fraction of what we are to each other.

"And I'm guessing with a baby strapped to you Brittany, you're doing pretty well and have got a child now" Greg states.

"Yes, this is my son and before you ask, the other little boy is also my son" I tell him.

"They look a lot like you" Greg smiles.

"Yeah, they are little versions of Brittany" Santana smiles fondly at me and the kids.

"I know it was tough for me so I hope whatever guy you married Brittany is ok with Santana hanging around you like a bad smell" Greg says.

"I'm sorry…what?" I ask confused. Why would he think I'm married to a man?

"I'm just assuming with the kids now and the wedding ring on your finger then you're married so I'm just saying, I hope the poor guy is ok with you and Santana being joined at the hip" Greg states.

"I'm not married to a man" I shake my head.

"Oh, was it like a donor guy then that you used to get pregnant?" Grey asks nosily.

"Is he serious?" I whisper to my wife.

"Yeah" Santana nods. "He and I were together and split before even I knew about your situation so I really don't think Greg knows either."

"Greg knows what?" Greg asks confused.

"It's doesn't matter" Santana shakes her head, not bothering to divulge any more of my private business and tell him the truth about me being different.

"So, what about you Santana?" Greg asks curiously.

"What about me?" Santana frowns in confusion.

"It looks like you're married too judging by the diamonds so do you have any kids?" he asks.

"Why do people always assume marriage and kids go hand in hand. Some people can be married without kids and some people can have kids but not be married so why would you assume I've probably got kids if I'm married now?" Santana asks.

"I just had a feeling but I'm most likely wrong. You're probably too devoted to your career to have children so I'm sorry for assuming" Greg shrugs.

"No, you did assume correct but my point was you should know by now I don't take kindly to people assuming things about me especially you" Santana states.

"I am sorry for offending you both and asking you personal questions. I really have no right to ask, I was honestly just a little curious since it's been a while since we saw one another. If it helps to know some personal things about me then I'm married now and I have a daughter" Greg points out.

"That doesn't really interest me if I'm honest" Santana chuckles. "Like good for you and everything but I honestly don't care" she adds.

"Ok well I'm glad you're happy now and have found the right one because I didn't treat you right and I know that. I am sorry about that, honestly" Greg tells Santana.

"Ok" Santana nods.

"I'm sure your husband is a million times better than me" he states.

"That would be a bit hard since I don't have a husband" Santana laughs.

"But…"

"Greg, I'm the one Brittany married and these are my children too" Santana explains, interrupting him. "But yeah, you're right, I did marry someone a million times better than you."

"Wow…ok" Greg says taken aback. "I knew you two were close because you two always talked about each other when I was around but I didn't think you were close to the point of now being together" he adds.

"You must have been living under a rock these last few years then because we're very public about our marriage" I point out.

"I wouldn't know that because I don't follow either of you. I mean I don't use social media all that much anyway so like I say, I wouldn't know any of that" Greg shrugs.

"Is it too painful for you to see I've moved on so that's why you don't use social media?" Santana asks.

"No, it's nothing like that" Greg frowns. "I've just sort of taken a step back from that kind of thing for my mental health" he adds.

"I get it" I say.

"Anyway, you two do look happy together so I'm glad you found your person Santana" Greg smiles genuinely at my wife.

"We are happy together but we're sorta also busy together since we have busy lives so we should go now" Santana points out.

"Yeah of course" Greg smiles. "Take care guys" he says.

"You too I guess" Santana replies and then we go off in our separate directions.

"Are you still hurt by what happened with Greg and him cheating on you?" I ask curiously.

"No, not at all" Santana shakes her head. "I just wasn't telling him that and giving him the satisfaction of thinking he doesn't need to feel guilty anymore. I wasn't going to clear his conscience for him and make him think he's in the clear now. The asshole cheated on me so he can continue to live with that even if I don't care anymore" she shrugs.

"Fair enough" I nod. "I thought maybe for a second it still bothered you so that's why you didn't say much when he apologised."

"I mean it's not great to know someone would cheat on you but it doesn't bother me like it used to because I have you and you're all that matters to me now. I know you'll never cheat on me so I don't care about what Greg did because he's nothing to me anymore" Santana explains.

"Ok" I nod again.

"You are all that matters" Santana reiterates before kissing my cheek.

"Just out of curiosity, it was a bit weird how he was talking to us, right?" I ask. "I mean he's your ex so why did he come over here and talk to us like we're all friends or something when you and him didn't leave things on a good note?"

"I think he genuinely felt guilty for what happened so wanted to talk to me to feel less guilty because if he knew I was happy now then he'd know I wasn't still blaming him or something" Santana guesses.

"I suppose that does make sense" I state. I can see why Greg might do that so maybe it was for selfish reasons and not for any other weird reason.

"Anyway, he's left now so let's finish this shopping and get out of here" Santana states.

"Exactly" I smile. "Ok, we need toilet paper in the next aisle because we're down to the last couple of rolls" I point out.

"Yeah, I know, what a disaster I nearly had this morning. We only had the one roll left in the master bathroom and I didn't think what was left was enough but luckily it was. Honestly, I was nearly screaming for you to bring me some more toilet paper from another bathroom" Santana says, shaking her head thinking about the situation.

"That wouldn't have been the sexiest moment we've had in the bathroom if I had to do that but you know I would do anything for you so I'd have brought you some more toilet paper" I shrug.

"Thankfully I'm only talking about peeing because could you imagine if that happened in a different situation, I would have been mortified asking you" she laughs.

"Oh, me too" I laugh.

*Monday 7th August 2023*

It's another day at home in the Pierce household with my little family and I just hanging out. Sometimes I feel like maybe we should be getting out more and doing more exciting things but at the same time Xavier is still really young so I guess it's to be expected that we're still trying to get to grips with things. We've had a normal morning so far going through our usual morning routine so everyone has eaten breakfast and got ready for the day. The kids are both napping at the moment so my plan is to do a workout with Santana while we have the spare time.

"Santana, wake up" I say while gently shaking her.

"Britt…come on. The boys are both napping right now so let me get some sleep while we're child free" she states annoyed.

"You've already had a good sleep so it's time to get up for the day and get moving again" I tell her.

"I don't want to" Santana whines.

"I know you don't and believe me, I don't want you doing something you don't want to do either but we made a deal of us working out together so we're sticking to it" I explain. "The extra weight won't shift on its own so you need to exercise."

"Are you calling me overweight and telling me I must lose weight?" my wife asks seriously.

"Come on Santana, don't do this" I sigh. "You know I wouldn't do that because you know I think you're fine as you are. The deal was that you wanted to lose some weight and wanted me to help you do it so if you want to drop a few pounds then all I'm saying is that they won't come off on their own, you need to work out."

"Fine" Santana states, rolling her eyes.

"Why are you being so over sensitive about this when this was your idea to lose weight, not mine?" I ask.

"I'm just tired, ok?" she states.

"I get that but it doesn't really answer my question" I tell her.

"I am tired so I'm getting frustrated easier and less patient and my motivation to exercise is nil. I'm also not liking you telling me I need to exercise as much as it's true. Right now, I'd rather you just said what I wanted to hear, not what is true" Santana explains.

"What exactly is it that you want to hear?" I ask confused.

"I want you to tell me I can take the day off from my workouts and let me go to sleep. I don't want you to tell me it's time for a workout. I mean deep down I know I should work out but I really don't want to and with the mood I'm in, I'd rather you felt the same as I did" she tells me.

"I'm sorry honey but we're still doing this because I promised you I would help you" I state.

"Can't I just have a pass for once?" Santana whines.

"If I gave you a pass every time you said you didn't want to work out then we would never workout. Look, this is a good time right now to do some exercise since the boys don't need us so let's make the most of that" I say.

"I really don't like you right now" Santana says, playfully glaring at me as she gets out of bed.

"I know you don't like me, you love me" I reply proudly.

"Um…the jury is still out on that" she shrugs at me.

"Well, I love you, like a lot" I smile before kissing my wife's cheek.

"I love you too" Santana mumbles, unable to pretend she's mad.

"Ok, we'll start off with some stretches to get warmed up so legs slightly apart for me" I state.

"They are apart, if they're anymore apart I'll be doing the splits" Santana tells me unamused.

"As flexible as you are, we all know you can't do the splits" I chuckle.

"You know what I mean now just hurry up and tell me what to do next because the quicker we start the quicker we finish and I can go back to bed" she states.

"Ok" I chuckle and then continue the warm up.

"So…what now?" Santana asks impatiently once we've finished warming up.

"Sit ups now baby so I want you to just do an easy 10 to start off with. To make sure you're doing it properly I want you to kiss me after each one. Nothing fancy, just peck my lips every time you sit up" I shrug.

"Look how this worked out, huh" Santana laughs. "You've managed to work in a few kisses into my routine, aren't you smart."

"It's not like that, I just need you to kiss me so I know you have come all the way up after each pull up and you haven't cheated. Also, I'll be holding onto your ankles to make sure you don't cheat" I state.

"Fine" Santana nods. She then lies down and I kneel on the floor at her feet.

"Are you ready?" I ask.

"Yes, now let's just do this" she says as she gets into position and starts doing pull ups.

"You're doing well babe" I smile.

"It doesn't feel like it" Santana groans.

"Ok, last one Santana, just keep going and push through the pain" I encourage her as she finishes number 9.

"Oh my god, I am so unfit" Santana says as she struggles to finish the last one. "Ok, done" she says in relief as she lies back down to relax.

"Uh…you didn't kiss me that time so we're not done. Another pull up please" I tell her.

"This will be your last fucking kiss of the week, believe me" Santana states, annoyed at the fact I've asked her to do an extra pull up when she was supposed to be done.

"I think you'll still kiss me before the week ends" I say confidently.

"I wouldn't count on it" she replies. She sounds serious but deep down I know she isn't that serious otherwise I wouldn't push the boundaries.

"Trust me, you will" I say smugly.

"Ok, I'm done so come here" Santana says as she pulls me by the neck, closer to her, before kissing me. "Enjoy that while it lasts babe" she smirks before pulling away and getting up from the floor.

"Uh…honey, where are you going, we've barely started working out?" I laugh.

"I need the bathroom" Santana replies.

"Do you really?" I ask sceptically.

"No, I just don't want to do this today" she whines.

"Ok, we won't" I say giving in. I was trying to push her a little because I knew in the long run, she would be grateful but the motivation today just isn't there at all so we'll stop.

"Thank you" Santana smiles.

"Why don't you go back to bed and I'll go downstairs and do some laundry" I tell her.

"Can't you nap with me?" she asks.

"I guess I could take a quick lie down" I shrug.

"Come on then" Santana says as she grabs my hand and pulls me to the bed. "Britt, put your arms around me please" she tells me as we lie down together.

"Sorry" I laugh as I wrap my arms around Santana. "I just figured if we weren't allowed to kiss for the rest of the week then me being all over you wouldn't help my case" I add.

"Come on, we both know I was never going to last that long" Santana laughs.

"Yeah, I did say that" I shrug.

"On this occasion you were right" she teases.

*Tuesday 8th August 2023*

Santana and I have been up for a while already this morning since the boys woke up early. Xavier still isn't into a set routine yet so he wakes up at all times of the day and Jaxon woke up early because he has another tooth coming in so he was in some discomfort. We've all eaten breakfast and hung out for a bit so I've now just put the kids in their cribs for 10 minutes so my wife and I can do what we need to do like get changed and stuff.

"Ok, I'm ready. Have your way with me Pierce" Santana states as she enters the bedroom from the master bathroom.

"Don't mind if I do" I smirk as I walk towards my wife. "Prepare for some fun" I tell her as I wrap my arms around Santana and lean in to kiss her neck.

"Honey…I didn't mean sex; I was talking about my workout you're helping with" she replies softly.

"Yeah, I know" I smile as I pull away from her. "I know sex isn't a thing right now and honestly, that's cool" I shrug.

"Ok" she smiles. "So, what are we doing to exercise?" she asks curiously.

"We're taking the workout very easy today because we're just going to go a walk with the kids. We'll just take the stroller and see where our feet take us" I tell her.

"Sounds good" Santana smiles.

"There's nothing better than taking a little morning hike in the fresh air with our boys" I smile back.

As soon as we're both ready for the day, we make sure the boys are all ready and we have everything packed that we need to take on our journey. We're only going on a hike but there is still a lot of things we need to take with us since we have two little children. The last thing we'd need to happen is being in the middle of the hike and one of the kids needs a diaper changed and we don't have one.

The four of us have just set off on our walk now. I know I said we would see where our feet take us but I do have some sort of idea where I want to go to. There is a park not too far from our home where we can walk up to the top of the hills and see all the beautiful landscape below. You can see for miles into the distance and depending which way you go you can either see the blue sea sparkling in the sun or the whole area where we live.

"You look cute with your hair tied up today" Santana says, smiling at me as we make our way up.

"Thanks" I reply, blushing slightly.

"Now you're blushing, that's even cuter" she says amused.

"The compliment caught me off guard so it made me blush" I smile.

"Don't I give you compliments enough that when I do it takes you by surprise" Santana teases.

"Something like that" I smirk.

"Hey, I was just joking" she says as she playfully hits my arm. "I compliment you all the time" she adds.

"I know" I say as I kiss her cheek.

"By the way, I am so unbelievably unfit right now. You're pushing a stroller up hill on your own with 2 kids in it and I still can't seem to keep up with you" Santana states.

"Sorry, I'll slow down" I smile.

"I really should have done more of a workout the other day when you suggested it because my fitness levels are not going up very quickly at all" she points out.

"Honey, we just need to take things at your own pace because there is no rush to lose the baby weight. It will take time anyway especially with you breastfeeding still" I tell her.

"I know but it's not even about losing weight right now, it's about my fitness level. I don't mind how long it takes to lose the weight; I just wish simple activities weren't so hard. My priority needs to be getting fitter so I can go for a walk without being out of breath" Santana explains.

"The two things will come together babe because the more we workout the fitter you'll be therefor the weight will come off" I tell her.

"Ok" she nods.

"So, how are you doing now?" I ask as we continue our hike.

"I'm ok but the only thing about this stroller is that you're having to push it so I can't hold your hand" Santana tells me.

"Would you have liked to hold my hand?" I tease.

"Yeah, I mean it's a beautiful day and it's quiet and we're just hiking together so potentially this could be a romantic moment" she states.

"Well why don't you hold onto the stroller at that side and I'll hold this side and we can hold hands in the middle as we both push the stroller" I reply as I let go of the stroller with my left hand and take a hold of Santana's right hand.

"Ok" Santana smiles.

It's about ten or so minutes later when we finish our hike, reaching the top of the hills. I put the stroller in park as I move to the side to look at everything in front of me. Santana does the same, looking off into the beautiful surroundings.

"It's a nice view from up here, isn't it?" I point out as I look out at everything in the distance.

"Yeah, the view is great" Santana smirks at me as she looks me up and down.

"I meant the scenery but I'm guessing you didn't" I laugh.

"I meant you, now come here" Santana says as she takes my hand and pulls me towards her to kiss me.

"What has gotten into you recently?" I tease.

"What do you mean?" Santana asks confused.

"You're very affectionate with me and although we are an affectionate couple, we have been busy parenting recently so it's surprising to see you so relaxed at the moment considering Xavier is only a couple of weeks old" I point out.

"I know it's been a busy time but I'm happy and I wouldn't want our life any other way so when I'm happy I get like this" Santana shrugs.

"Don't get me wrong, I like it" I smile before leaning over to kiss my wife.

"Me too" Santana says as she relaxes in my arms as I wrap them around her. "I could just stand in your arms all day" Santana says as she rests her head back on my shoulder.

"Yeah, I could do this all day too" I say as I hug Santana tighter, kissing the side of her cheek.

"I know we have the kids with us and there are other people around but this is seriously a romantic kind of setting isn't it" she points out.

"I do think it is so maybe next time we have some time alone; I'll bring you back here and we can take a picnic or something and have a sort of date" I suggest.

"Sounds really good" Santana replies.

"Speaking of being alone, we're not alone so how are our kids" I say as we break out of our hold.

"They look pretty good to me" Santana says, smiling fondly at our two boys in the stroller.

"I am so surprised they are both still soundly asleep right now" I state.

"I know, me too" Santana nods in agreement. "We should maybe head back down now though before they do wake up and need feeding and changing" she adds.

"Yeah, you're right" I reply.

"I always am" Santana winks at me.

"Not technically always, but most of the time you are right about everything" I smile.

"We can agree to disagree then honey" Santana shrugs.

"Ok" I laugh.

That's it for the chapter, let me know what you think.
