Life

Head maid, scary...Other maids, scary… this is my honest impression after getting dragged away and becoming a dress-up doll for the maids of this household…

They dress me up in their various maid uniforms. Get me in makeup and when I try to refuse. They would lecture me about womanhood and the happiness of having a beautiful face. (Heck how did they even get one of those skimpy ones?! Thank goodness they don't let me wear it.)

I don't know how long I was sitting still. Getting my face in makeup while getting a lecture. They even do my hair which I tied it into a ponytail cause it gets in my way when I practice.

Well...It was kind of fun? Doing something like this once in a while is something I can live with but if it happens every day then I'm sure going to die of embarrassment.

I turn around quickly and in my hand is a sword I made out of earth magic. I feel something passing by me. It's fast. Too fast for comfort. Everything that moves around me fast I need to consider it as an Enemy.

I looked around but didn't find anything...The presence is still near me. I could feel it. It keeps watching me. This is not Ghislaine for sure. She doesn't have the patience to stay quiet in times like this.

And from what I saw no one in this house has the ability to this degree. What's more, this presence is dangerous. I could feel some malicious intent from it.

God what is this!? Why do I have to face something like this on my first freaking day!? My sweat is coming out like crazy. Ghislaine should come at any moment now. If I could sense this then she is a hundred times better than me.

Shit...my breathing starts to become heavy. This feeling is killing me! What is this?!

"Are you ok, Lucy?" Ghislaine's voice suddenly appeared behind me. And before I could turn behind me she was already gone.

I looked around again and saw her near one of the windows holding onto the neck of a young girl. The girl dresses in a very skimpy dress that does not even cover her body. And in her hand are two knives. Wait two knives?

"Ghislaine becare-"

...a cracking sound rang in the vast hallway. The girl's body slowly loses her strength and drops down. The knives in her hand dropped on the ground and a metal sound rang once again.

The girl is dead. Without having a fight Ghislaine swiftly breaks her neck...I could only watch as Ghislaine threw the body into the hallway and walked toward me.

"Come Lucy. We have a bigger problem right now. The mansion is filled with assassins and Lady Eris and Rudeus get kidnapped." Ghislaine said coldly. I only stare at her and nod my head.

Rudeus POV

Where am I? I was in my room before making figures...Ugh my head! Shit, there is blood leaking from it!? Huh...wait, why is it so dark? I could feel my arm and leg but all I could do was wiggle around. There's stuff in my mouth too so I can't speak. And the ground is shaking a lot with a horse galloping sound…

I'm in some sort of carriage?! Did I fucking get kidnapped?! How?! Why?! Shit, first I need to get off my binding. Let's use fire magic to burn off this rope thingy that binds my arm first.

Good. I quickly took off the bag that covered my face and what I saw shocked me…we were on the road in the middle of somewhere. I looked around and saw a girl beside me. This is…Eris? Ugh...my head!

Shit, I was so panicked that I forgot about my head! Whispering in the lowest voice possible I chant the healing magic and I instantly feel better.

Damn, what a way to start my first job in both lives. Getting kidnapped by who knows and getting somewhere. Does the carriage begin to slow down?! I got to act like nothing happened!

I quickly cover my face with the same back and use earth magic to create some binding on my arm too. They won't notice it because it is dark right now.

Footstep...From the sound of it, there are two people. They began to carry me to some place and when they dropped me on the ground I could hear them walking away and the door closing sound.

After waiting for a few more minutes, I finally removed my cover bag. Looking around I saw nothing in this room. Other than a barred window, two coffins and a door.

These two coffins probably used to transport me and Eris out of town…Let's eavesdrop on what they say from the door...

Putting my ear on the door, the sound slowly got louder. Although it was kind of low I think I could hear them.

Yup, that is the only thing I hear that is useful. The other thing is just them drunkenly rambling about stuff. Well, well! It's time for me to make my escapades! But first, let's make sure they can't come in here!

Slowly but surely I build an earth fortress on the door. Yup with this even Lucy needs to use her full strength to break in!

Now then. Let's wake the lady up! I lightly slap her face. It is not enough to hurt her but it is enough to wake her up.

And in just a matter of seconds, Eris slowly opened her eyes.

"Good evening my lady. But sorry for being informal right now as we appear to be kidnapped." I said while removing the cloth that got stuff in her mouth. She spit out something and began to look around.

She then began to breathe in air and open her mouth...Oh shit!

I quickly covered her mouth with my hand.

Seeing me like this Eris finally lets go of her teeth. She got those fang teeth too, no wonder it breaks my skin…

I used detoxification magic first before using healing magic. Because the human mouth has a lot of bacteria I need to be clean about healing this…

I quickly wipe my tears away and look straight into Eris's eyes.

"My lady, we are in a dire situation right now. We don't know where we are and we don't know how far we are from Roa. But if you want to go back home please come with me quietly." I said in the lowest voice I could do.

"Hmph! Why do I need to listen to you!?" God her voice is loud!

"Oi! What was that!?" Shit, they heard her.

"...Then I'm sorry...As I value my life more than yours I will choose mine. After all, I have people I want to return to." I said as I walked toward the window. Using earth magic to break the window. I quickly climb toward it…"By the way...Ghislaine or Lord Saurous won't be coming to rescue you. After all, they don't know where you are."

I said that one last time and saw her flinching. But she still won't bulge...sighing lightly I jump out of the window. I heard a loud bang from the door but I just decided not to think about it anymore. Whatever happened it was her choice.

Lucelia POV

Arm with my sword on my hip. I was walking in the street looking for a possible hideout or any trace of Rudy and Eris. Ghislaine is going to look from above as she has better eyesight than me.

Right now My heart is beating like crazy. I'm nervous, scared, and afraid about what will happen. Can I find Rudy? Will he be ok? Do I...need to kill someone?

I witnessed many deaths both in this life and in my last life. In the ER room, everything can happen. I witnessed a mother giving birth to a stillborn. A man died in a car crash. This world is unlike my old world. It is full of cruelty, Selfish wishes, and many others. But what to say my old world isn't like this? That's why...I need to adapt. No matter what it is. If it dares to hurt my family then I would not hesitate.

My hand gripping my sword so hard that I could feel the handle start to have a little crack. I relax my hand and take a deep breath…

The girl slowly walked toward the North gate without questioning the voice in her head. Her eyes shine a bright shade of gold and her little bang slowly turns a shade of white. A smile slowly creeps onto the girl's face as it slowly distorts between a blank expression and a creepy smile.

When she reaches her destination everything slowly turns back to normal. Her hair was back to its original emerald green while her eyes slowly turned back to the blank gold that it once was.

The girl who has no expression slowly unsheathes her sword while looking at the scene in front of her.

"Are you ok, Rudy?" This is the last word she mutters out.
