Logan sighs nervously and goes into the woods. He finds a good spot to sit down in and waits for the plan to fall into motion even though he has strong doubts it might not work. He thinks about everything Carlos has been going through and desperately wants him to get back to normal. He feels guilty that he didn't help sooner when the symptoms started.
James and Kendall walk up to him and notice him freaking out.
"Logan, this plan will work." Kendall reassures him.
"We all know how protective Carlos is of you. How can this possibly fail?" James says.
"Because in that cabin isn't Carlos. It's a beast that's taken over his mind and body. We don't know how he'll react to me pretending to be in danger. He might not even show interest," Logan says.
"Deep down in that monster is still Carlos. Who is still sweet, kind, and lovable. We won't give up on him. We will save him." Kendall says
They hear a rustle in the bushes.
"That's got to be Alex hiding in a place. OK, we're ready. Scream like your life depends on it dude." James says.
He leaves with Kendall.
"I hope your bear costume is realistic enough to work, Alex," Logan says, and hears loud growling. The source of the sound appeared before him.
"You're not Alex!" He says, truly scared.
Back in the cabin. Kendall and James run inside.
"Carlos, come quick! Logan is in danger!" Kendall says.
"He's lost in the woods! We need your help to find him!" James says.
They all hear the young brunette screaming loudly.
"Wow, he's really committed," James whispered to Kendall.
They all run into the woods and see a creature cornering Logan against a tree.
"That's not a bear costume is it? "James says, confusingly.
"No." Kendall says, realizing Logan is actually in danger.
"Guys, I'm here. I'm ready to put the plan into action. What's going on? Why does Logan actually look scared?" Alex says, running up to them.
"If you're here, then whose is that? And why are you late?" James says.
"It took me thirty minutes to find this costume. There's a trunk in the attic of my house that has a lot of them and it was all the way to the bottom. I think the creature in front of Logan is Marcus Keener the werewolf I told you about." Alex says, now terrified.
Carlos growls loudly and tackles his now enemy away from his friend. They tussle each other with biting and scratching and roaring. The fight lasts through the afternoon as it starts to get dark.
"Oh no the full moon! It's shining down on both of them! Fight it Carlos don't let your urges defeat you! Remember who you are! You're our amigo! The best hockey goalie ever! You're our brother! Remember that!" Kendall yells, desperately.
Carlos tries to listen but is quickly loosing the battle. The werewolf lunges at Logan who has been too scared to move the entire time. He finally gains the energy to run but doesn't get very far after tripping on a long tree root and twists his ankle. The monster gets closer barring his teeth but is pulled back by James. Kendall and Alex start throwing rocks.
"I can't get up! My ankle really hurts!" Logan, cries out.
"We'll help you get back to the cabin." Kendall says, running to him. He gently lifts him up as he and James carry him away from the dangerous scene.
Carlos notices and gets worried, while he's distracted he's tackled by his opponent and pinned down hard.
"Fight back Carlos! Fight back hard! Don't give up! You can do this!" Alex yells, encouragingly from a safe distance.
The young Latino takes those words to heart and easily overpowers Marcus but is bitten so he bites him back.
"Guys stop! He needs help! He can't do this alone!" Logan says.
"Dude you can't walk. You're not safe near them none of us are." James says.
"He's right we can't jump into that battle." Kendall says.
"Something is happening! Come quick!" Alex says, urgently running into the cabin.
"I'm going to him." Logan says
"It's too dangerous. You need to stay here." Kendall says
"We don't want you getting hurt worse than you are now." James says
"What happened to not giving up on him? What happened to he's our brother? What happened to figuring this out as a team?" Logan says.
"I can reason with him I know I can. He'll listen to me."
"Fine, you're right. We know you can do this too." Kendall says, helping out of the cabin and back to the chaos.
"Amigo! You're not a monster! Listen to me! You're sweet, funny, kind, smart and very lovable! You're awesome! Fight this! You've got to fight this! We love you bro! We've never stopped! Look at this picture! "Logan says, showing him an image from his phone.
"Its when we were six and I lost one of our hockey games. I was devastated and you did everything you could to cheer me up. You told me the funniest jokes you could think of and made me laugh. At that moment your dad took this picture. Your dad who admire so much. You talk about him all the time. How great he is at his job. How he teaches you new Spanish phrases to teach all of us. Especially me and Katie. Remember how fun that is?"
Carlos' body starts to change and he groans and growls. The fur slowly starts to leave his body. He goes back down to his normal size and lies on the ground next to Marcus who also transformed back into a human.
"It worked! Marcus changed back too!" Alex says, extremely surprised.
"Are you guys ok?"
"Yeah, how did we change back?" Carlos says, very groggily.
"The combination of you and Marcus biting each other and Logan's heartfelt speech must've triggered something in your brain to turn back. And when you saw that he was hurt you got worried." Alex says.
"Whoa, I'm back to normal!" Marcus says.
"Thank you Carlos. I'm so sorry I attacked you. I had to find someone to help me turn back and break the curse. And you did it. All of you. Thanks so much."
"You're welcome." Carlos says.
"I'm gonna go help him get situated with his family. I'll explain everything and make sure no one bothers you guys. Logan you should go rest your ankle. The town doctor will come by to fix you right up. I'll take care of everything so you'll have total privacy." Alex says.
"Thanks, we appreciate that." Logan says.
After the town doctor arrives at the cabin to give him a small cast to wear the boys eat candy that Alex gave them and watch spooky Halloween movies all night.
Carlos is the first to fall asleep and wakes up suddenly from his difficult slumber. He looks around confused that he's in his shared bedroom with James in Apartment 2J. He looks out the window and realizes it's morning then quickly runs to the living room.
"Guys, I have something to tell you!"
"First of all good morning." Kendall says, sipping on orange juice.
"What do you want to tell us?"
"I'm not a werewolf. We broke the spell and escaped Evermore." Carlos says.
"Huh?" Kendall says, confused.
Logan walks by and is hugged tightly by the young Latino.
"What's going on?" He says, struggling to breath looking at Kendall who just shrugs.
"You can walk! Your ankle is ok!" Carlos says, joyfully.
"What's he talking about?" James says, perplexed.
"He came in here babbling about not being a werewolf anymore and escaping Evermore. Whatever the heck that's suppose to mean." Kendall replies, not fully interested in the situation anymore sending a text to Jo.
It all must've been a weird dream. I was bitten by a dog who was a werewolf that was really a teenager named Marcus Keener and this other teenager named Alex became our friend. I started turning into one too and it was crazy and I battled Marcus and Logan hurt his ankle and then I was sad but Marcus was really aggressive and we bit each other and turned back to normal." Carlos explains.
"Okay...no more sugar past midnight for you for the rest of the year and tone it down on the monster movies and documentaries. You're all dicombobulated." Logan says, relieved he finally let go of him.
"Anyway we've got trick or treating to do tonight after the Palm Woods Scare-O-Ween Monster Mash Party."
"That's gonna be awesome!" Carlos says.
Later that night they all go and have a lot of fun.
