The third chapter is here! Not much else to say so enjoy!
Nappa witnessed Natsu get ready to battle him but he doesn't look impressed in the slightest, not only because of his usual overconfident attitude but also because he's unable to actually sense power levels without a scouter. The Elite Saiyan warrior glances down at the young man and chuckles, completely sure of his superior strength and power.
"Hahahahaha! I've barely been warming up and your weakling allies can't even touch me! What makes you think you can anything to me?"
Nappa laughs again, clearly amused that Natsu thinks he can possibly defeat him let alone Vegeta.
Vegeta who saw Natsu's unusual and curious aura flare up then picks up his scouter from the ground and starts a scan to get a reading of Natsu's power level. Once the beeping stops, he looks rather surprised by the number displayed by the scouter.
"That's curious... he has a power level of 4000."
Nappa then turned around in surprise and shock at Vegeta's words.
"4000?! But how? He's just a damned Earthling!"
Vegeta looks up at Nappa and shakes his head, an annoyed look on his face.
"Don't be a fool Nappa! He blocked your energy blast with no trouble earlier. I wouldn't underestimate him if I were you as he has a serious chance of causing you a lot of trouble right now."
Vegeta glared and spoke with a serious expression in a low voice, trying to drive his point home and to convince Nappa to be more cautious and on guard.
"Yeah you heard your friend! I'm gonna kick your arse all the way to space!"
Natsu said with determination as his aura flared even more.
Nappa scoffs, a look of contempt and scorn on his face, as he glances at Natsu in amusement. He knows that his power is far superior and far greater than that of his opponents, and he relishes in the idea of defeating these weaklings. He lets out a laugh, amused at the challenge.
"Oh really? You don't have a chance weakling. I'm going to crush you!"
Nappa takes a fighting stance and looks at Natsu, ready to begin the fight.
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
Natsu yelled as he dashed at the bald Saiyan with high speeds surprising Nappa with his attack, as he has never seen a technique like this.
The fire-based attack is powerful, and it knocks Nappa off his feet sending him crashing into a nearby cliff as he got hit on the right cheek. Nappa is shocked and surprised, he glares angrily at Natsu and tries to quickly counterattack, firing a powerful energy blast at Natsu. It nearly hits Natsu, but he is able to dodge the attack, avoiding the blast and getting ready for his next move.
"Your attack's too slow cue ball! My turn now!"
Natsu then dashes towards Nappa again ready to strike with his right fist covered in fire.
Nappa scoffs and looks confident, as he believes that what Natsu did so far is nothing but a fluke. He is certain that his strength and power are far greater, and he is ready to crush this man in one easy blow.
However, he is surprised by the Dragon Slayer's speed with the flames surrounding Natsu's fist makes the attack even more powerful, and it strikes Nappa with significant force, knocking him backwards and clearly taking him off guard as he's sent crashing into the ground. The Elite Saiyan is surprised and angry, but he recovers quickly, as his fighting instincts kick in.
Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin all look on with surprise and fascination, as they saw these powerful attacks strike Nappa and take him off guard. They quickly realise that Natsu is indeed far stronger than they had originally believed, and they are impressed at his strength and how well he's holding his own. They now know that their new ally might be the key to victory or at least he's someone who could hold the two Saiyans long enough for Goku to arrive on the battlefield and save the day like he always did.
But Nappa recovered from this surprise attack, and he looks angrily at Natsu as the young man rushes forward for a follow up kick. However this time Nappa is ready as he parried the flaming kick aimed at his head with his right forearm and is now aiming for a counterattack.
"Don't get too cocky punk! You only got a few lucky hits in!"
He said with a snarl as he blocked the attack confident that he will easily beat Natsu. He quickly moves forward to counterattack, as he aims his fist as Natsu's face. However, just before Nappa lands a critical strike, Natsu sidesteps the attack and uses his Fire Dragon Slayer powers once again.
He grabs his foe's head with his right arm and supports it with his other.
"Fire Dragon's Grip Strike!" he yelled before blasting Nappa at point blank range which hits the Elite Saiyan directly as he's heard yelling in pain and knocks him to the ground.
Nappa coughs as he recovers from the massive blast, clearly surprised once again.
"What the hell?! You'll pay for this!"
Nappa glares angrily at Natsu, then jumps to his feet and raises his fist once more, ready to strike back again. He is clearly angry, not only that an Earthling dared to challenge him, but also the fact that he's making a mockery out of him. Nappa quickly rushes with a powerful punch, aiming to hit Natsu with all his strength and power, as he expects for a crushing hit to land and is ready to put Natsu down at last.
The punch connects and Natsu is thrown back skidding on the ground before stopping himself by gripping the ground with his left hand. He may have taken a powerful hit but Natsu grins as he's always enjoyed a good fight and realises that this Nappa guy is one of the strongest foes he's encountered so far.
"Not bad but you'll have to do better than that if you want to beat me."
The Dragon Slayer said with utmost confidence much to Nappa's frustration and to the relief of Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin who had a worried look when Nappa struck Natsu earlier.
Nappa looks at Natsu with a look of surprise once again, as he can't believe that the young fighter is still able to fight after taking such a powerful hit. The Elite Saiyan warrior seems to be surprised at Natsu's durability and toughness, and he wonders what other surprises this young fighter may have for him. Nappa shakes his head in disbelief and charges forward again, prepared to finish this fight once and for all as both of them now exchange blows with punches and kicks thrown all around.
"Wow this guy is super strong! Where has he been all this time?!"
Gohan said as remaining Dragon Team members all look on with surprise and shock, as they witness Natsu's incredible strength and power. Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan are all shocked to see that this stranger whom they never met can be so powerful, and they wonder where Natsu has been hiding this entire time. Krillin theorises that Natsu must have a lot of experience battling powerful enemies, and he has likely gotten quite strong and skilled as a result.
Nappa also looks shocked at Natsu's incredible power and toughness as both now landed multiple hits on each other and are still continuing the exchange of blows. He didn't expect Natsu to be so strong, and he angered by the fact that he's facing a foe he can't defeat so easily for the first time in his life.
Happy looks over at the trio with an excited expression on his face as he hears their praise of Natsu. Happy feels proud of his friend, and he smiles to see that the other Z Fighters are starting to realize just how impressive Natsu really is. The blue cat grins and he feels confident that Natsu and these people will win the fight against this powerful enemy. He then turns to Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin, and he smiles as he speaks to them:
"Natsu is the best. You should be proud to have him on your side!"
Piccolo is curious about Natsu, who is clearly a powerful and skilled fighter. He wonders how this young man has managed to stay hidden for so long, as he has never heard of this Natsu before today. The Namekian wants to know more about this young fighter as he turns to Happy and speaks:
"Hey you, the blue cat, your name is Happy right? Where does this Natsu come from? And what's with these strange fire based techniques that he's using?"
Happy smiles at Piccolo's question, as he is happy to explain everything he knows about Natsu and his Dragon Slayer powers.
"Well, Natsu is part of our guild, Fairy Tail! And what you guys are seeing is Natsu's Fire Dragon Slayer magic which Igneel taught him when he was a child. He also trained and practiced a lot with a lot of other powerful members of the guild, so he gained a lot of strength and power along the way and we also had to fight a ton of powerful mages on the way!"
"Guild? What are you talking about?"
Krillin asked with a puzzled expression as neither him nor Piccolo and Gohan ever heard of such guilds before.
Happy chuckles and shrugs, looking at Krillin.
"Well... a guild is basically a like a group or organisation of wizards who use magic that fights together and goes on missions or on adventures together. The guild has a leader, who is known as a guild master and ours is Master Makarov. In our guild we also have Erza, Lucy, Gray, Mirajane, Gajeel, Laxus and plenty of other strong people too!"
The trio all look on in awe and curiosity as Happy explained what Fairy Tail is and mentioned some of its notorious members. Natsu has clearly been on a lot of adventures with his guildmates, and they have all worked together to become strong and powerful. The Z Fighters are a bit surprised to learn that they have never come across this group of powerful fighters, but they are impressed by the fact that Natsu has clearly developed so much strength and skills thanks to that unknown group of people. They are also curious about what more he may be capable of as they saw Natsu land a kick on Nappa's face before the latter retaliated with a punch on Natsu's face before both fighters disengaged and took some distance.
Meanwhile Vegeta is observing the fight between this pink haired human with strange fire powers and his fellow Saiyan comrade with curiosity and intrigue. There's clearly something more about him but he can't put his finger on what. He looks a bit worried about Nappa's chances as Natsu held a clear advantage so far and would no doubt manage to capitalise on his underlings's hotheadedness. Nonetheless, he sees no need to intervene yet as Nappa is far from lost and he believes that this pink haired fighter will make a mistake sooner or later.
Nappa grits his teeth in annoyance as the battle has been more difficult than he expected. Natsu is clearly a powerful opponent and Nappa is angry that he has been forced to work so hard.
"I'll crush you! You hear me you pink haired punk?!"
"Yeah keep running your mouth! You're all bark, no bite."
Natsu said with a snarl as he was still determined to crush his foe who did unacceptable things earlier. His feet suddenly got engulfed in flames as he charged towards Nappa again.
"Fire Dragon's Claw!"
Nappa is surprised by this newest attack, and he looks annoyed as Natsu once more displays advanced skills and power. However, he managed to dodge the attack and he stands, ready to strike back once more, as Nappa charges in and begins to throw another powerful punch towards him. It hits Natsu squarely in the stomach, causing him to double over in pain just as the Elite Saiyan warrior expected he would before kicking the pinkette with such force that he was sent crashing through a rock much to the horror of Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin while Vegeta simply smirked.
Vegeta watches with a satisfied smirk, as he sees Nappa land a powerful blow, knocking Natsu into a nearby rock and sending him crashing through it in dramatic fashion. He can tell that Nappa is enjoying himself, seeing how he's seemingly back in control. He knows that Natsu has been put in his place, and he won't be making the mistake of doubting Nappa and his power again like he did previously.
"Oh no! Is Mr. Natsu okay?!"
Gohan yelled in worry as he saw Natsu buried under the rubble but the Dragon Slayer quickly shot out of the rubble looking to be mildly in pain before he wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth and grinned yet again.
"Heh, that's more like it. Now this fight is getting real."
Natsu said as he took a fighting stance again.
"I knew he'd be fine. Natsu's been through way worse before."
Happy said confidently as he looked at Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin who looked quite worried earlier.
"That brute is really tough. No doubt he'd give Gray a run for his money too."
Natsu told his blue cat companion before turning to face Nappa yet again who doesn't look pleased by what he's seeing.
Happy chuckles at Natsu's comment, as he thinks of how true that statement may be. If that bald brute can keep up with Natsu then there's no doubt that he'd give Gray, Gajeel and maybe even Erza a good fight before he said:
"Yes, he is indeed very tough. But you seem to be holding your own against him very well. Keep it up Natsu, you've got this in the bag!"
However, Nappa is quite displeased with Natsu's laid back and casual attitude. The bald Saiyan is fighting this battle with a serious attitude and with a powerful focus and determination. He is not happy to see that Natsu is approaching the fight with a carefree attitude, and the Elite Saiyan warrior is certain that he will eventually put the young man in his place. Nappa grows more and more annoyed by this cocky attitude, and his determination to win becomes even more powerful as well.
"This Natsu guy, his attitude and the way that he fights sure does remind me of Goku a lot "
Krillin said with a chuckle as he sees Natsu fight with a carefree attitude. He makes the comparison between Natsu and Goku right away, and it's true that the two definitely seem similar in that aspect. Natsu seems to have a lot of fun and enjoy himself when he fights, just like his Saiyan best friend.
"But when will my dad will be here? I don't know if he can beat that Vegeta guy too. He looks even stronger than Nappa somehow."
Gohan seems worried that their new ally might not be able to take on Nappa and Vegeta before Goku gets here in time which is completely valid as there's no telling in which direction this battle might go.
Meanwhile Vegeta overheard their conversation and can't help but wonder, since they're waiting for Kakarot's return that means he must've been revived with the Dragon Balls and thus the legends are true. After all, he died a year ago in the battle against Raditz. After hearing this, he's eager to confront this renegade Saiyan and teach that race traitor a lesson he'll never forget.
"Oh so it seems like you've actually revived Kakarot huh? I'd imagine you plan on having him confront us am I correct?"
The trio turn and look at Vegeta, surprised yet again by Vegeta's sudden comment and question. They are not expecting Vegeta to even acknowledge them, much less say anything about Goku.
"That's right! My dad will come here and kick your butts"
Gohan said with gritted teeth and determination. This however made Vegeta laugh as if that low class Saiyan could barely do anything against Raditz so what chance does he have against him and Nappa? He then spoke up and said:
"Oh please… if that low class weakling died against Raditz then what chance does he have against us? You're delusional if you think that Kakarot is going to save you from your inevitable demise!"
Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin look at Vegeta with a cold glare, as Vegeta makes his seemingly bold statement. They are surprised and angered by this remark, as they don't appreciate how Vegeta disrespects Goku and his power. Krillin is especially angered by Vegeta's attitude, and he glares at the Elite Saiyan with a cold stare and speaks:
"He's been training very hard just to face you and your friend over there! Mark my words, Goku will absolutely make a difference!"
This causes Vegeta to smirk even more and laugh at Krillin's bold words before he says:
"Hohoho! You Earthlings won't cease to amaze me with your sense of humour. But you know what? Since you have so much faith in Kakarot, I'm feeling generous enough to wait for him. 3 hours and then it's lights out for him and the rest of you. How about that?"
Piccolo, Krillin and Gohan look at Vegeta with a cold stare, but they remain silent. They aren't very pleased with Vegeta's mocking attitude but they he also know better than to argue with Vegeta. The Elite Saiyan warrior seems like he would keep his word, at least for now so the trio knows it's best to keep their mouths shut and just wait to see what will transpire during the next three hours.
Nappa however was puzzled by his superior's decision as he wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth and said:
"But Vegeta! Are you sure? He's just a low class scum! It's a waste of time!"
Nappa's question confuses Vegeta, and he gives Nappa a somewhat annoyed and irritated look before answering his question.
"Do not question me Nappa! I have my own reasons for doing that. Now keep your mouth shut, pause your fight with that Earthling and wait for Kakarot's arrival. I have no patience for foolish questions like the one you just asked me."
Vegeta glares at Nappa, with a very cold and intimidating look on his face. The Saiyan Prince makes his wishes very clear, and Nappa knows better than to continue asking questions at this moment and flies back towards Vegeta much to Natsu's confusion as he was about to prepare something.
"Hey Pinky! I suggest you stand down as well or I'll make you do it myself"
Vegeta looks at Natsu menacingly as he knows that Natsu stands no chance whatsoever against him, at least with the power level he displayed so far.
Natsu glares at Vegeta, angry that the Elite Saiyan would dare to refer to him as "pinky." Natsu's eyes narrow into threatening slits, and he clenches his fists tightly. Natsu is clearly not pleased with this turn of events, and he is definitely not happy to be referred to in such a way. Natsu's expression turns menacing, and he snarls in anger at Vegeta's words.
"Oh yeah?! I dare you to try then! Bring it on shorty!"
"Uh… Natsu I suggest you do as he says… for now! He's giving us three hours for Goku to arrive and I'd really appreciate if you didn't ruin that chance"
Krillin hoped to defuse the situation as he could tell that Vegeta is even stronger than Nappa since he forced the bald brute to back down and he's worried about Natsu's safety.
"But why? I'd say we kick their butts right here! Right now!"
Natsu was having none of it and Piccolo decided to now step in.
"Listen up! You might be strong I won't deny that but at your currently level you'll get squashed by Vegeta. Can't you sense his power level?!"
Natsu and Happy look confused however as they never heard of anything like that.
"Sense power levels? What do you mean?"
The blue Exceed asked as this made no sense at all to either him nor Natsu.
"Mr. Piccolo... I don't think that Mr. Natsu and Happy can actually sense power levels"
Gohan said in a shy tone but he is totally correct about it which made Piccolo sigh. Now it all made sense why Natsu and Happy were acting so confidently, oh if only they could sense Vegeta's power level they wouldn't be so smug about fighting the two Saiyans.
Natsu is slightly surprised by their request, but he also knows that if they're all saying it, then it must be for good reason. Natsu considers for a brief moment, then he lets out a huff of air and looks back at Vegeta. Natsu glares at Vegeta, then makes a small movement as if getting ready to fight - but then, he shakes his head and sighs.
"Ugh... Just when I was about to use my Fire Lightning mode too."
Natsu said in his thoughts before speaking up.
"Fine. I'll lay off for three hours, as long as you also don't start anything until this Goku guy arrives, whoever that might be. Deal?"
Vegeta simply hmphed in response to indicate that he's satisfied by Natsu's answer all while Nappa looked frustrated by the whole thing which the Saiyan Prince noticed.
"Don't worry, if that traitor truly shows up then it will be very well worth the wait. We'll eliminate Kakarot to crush their spirits and then take care of these Earthlings."
"Fine but Pinky is all mine. That fool's gonna pay!"
"Hmph, as you wish. I couldn't care less."
Natsu and Happy then joined Piccolo, Gohan and Krillin no doubt looking to know more about who these villains actually are, why they're here as well as who this mysterious Goku is and simply to introduce themselves in a proper way.
And there goes the third chapter! This one was a bit longer than the others but I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out since the draft version of it is a lot less detailed! Let me know what you think in the reviews and see you on the next chapter!
