2 Years Later
It was two years after the defeat of Voldemort by Harry Potter and it seemed his fame had only grown even more. Harry was widely sought after and invited by everyone who was anyone in the wizarding world to attend their parties and events. Even though he was still wrung out from the war which for him had been going on for his entire seven years since he started Hogwarts, he quietly went along with Ron, Hermione, and Ginny as they basked in the fame. For the Weasleys, it was as if they were finally out from under the stigma they grew up under as a poor pure-blooded family. They still weren't rich but they had popularity. Hermione wasn't so much basking in the fame as much as going along to rub the pure-bloods noses in the fact that she was just as good as any of them. It wasn't anything overt but Harry could always see the smugness on her face when she was introduced and because of his status, no one would dare say anything pertaining to blood status.
It was all well and good for a time but Harry grew tired of the parties and the fame and just wanted to live a quiet life even though he was in the process of joining his former Quidditch captain at Puddlemore United as their new starting seeker. As he turned more of his attention to training and getting back into Quidditch shape, he began to frequent the parties less and less and that is where the problems began. Hermione grew bored with the parties and now only went along to make Ron happy. She was ready to move on with her life much like Harry was doing and finally put the war behind them. It was evident to Harry and Hermione that Ron and Ginny were addicted to the fame they had as part of the winning team and were not thinking of the future and beginning their lives. The less Harry showed up with them due to conflicts with his training, which seemed to be growing in frequency purposely, Ron and Ginny quickly realized that they were a lot less popular without him. It was at this point that their relationship was strained to the point of breaking as they began to put pressure on Harry to attend.
Several fights broke out over the matter. Harry clearly stating that he wanted to put the war behind him and begin to enjoy his life and the possibilities it held did not go over well with Ron and Ginny. The arguments increased in frequency to the point where Ron and Harry were no longer speaking to each other and he and Ginny were close to ending their two year long 'engagement'. It only took another month before it withered and died. Harry was adamant about beginning a new chapter in his life and Ginny seemed to be stuck in the past. As he felt she was being unreasonable, just as she did about him, he ended it one night on the porch of the Burrow after she had taken him to task in front of her family hoping he would cave with them around. He finally stood from the table and said "Ginny...a word please?"
She followed him out on the porch and immediately asked. "You couldn't say what you had to in front of our family? Just what was it you wanted to say?"
"Goodbye Ginny. I won't be back."
She looked at him in shock as he silently apparated away.
That had been four months ago and she was still trying to get him back. She apologized numerous times and showed up anywhere she knew he was going to be. She knew how badly she messed up and evidently Harry was not Dumbledore and didn't believe in multiple chances. It was over for him and she had a hard time accepting it. It only caused the split between him and Ron to grow wider and with it came a distance between him and Hermione that hadn't existed since their fight in their third year.
Harry threw himself into his Quidditch career and didn't look back. In his first season, he was rising as a top ranked seeker and taking the Quidditch world by storm. It only made things worse as his new found fame in Quidditch caused a resurgence in Ginny's efforts and saw Ron's jealousy skyrocket. He managed to get a spot on his beloved cannon's roster as the backup keeper and was devastated when the match between the Cannons and Puddlemore saw a one sided game where Harry used everything in his arsenal to humiliate the Cannons' seeker time after time.
4 years after the fall of Voldemort
Harry was attending the yearly memorial/celebration at Hogwarts of the final battle for the first time in two years. He mainly sat with his old teammates and some new ones instead of the those he was closest to in school. In fact, the only Weasley anywhere near him was George as they had maintained their friendship and business relationship despite the rest of the family.
Over at another table, Neville was sitting with Hannah Abbott, Luna Lovegood , and several other survivors of the final battle. Neville and Hannah were engaged as were several of the other couples at the table. Neville and Luna had remained close friends over the years and were never far from each other at events like this. As she was on the other side of him from Hannah, he threw up a privacy bubble around the three of them.
"Luna, you're not doing your self any favors by not telling him."
"And just what am I supposed to say Neville Longbottom? Hi Harry...the nargles told me to wait for you that you'd be mine one day but I can't wait any more and want to shag the blibbering humdingers out of him?"
Neville snorted. "He's your friend Luna. Even if he wasn't interested, he'd never do anything to hurt you. You know that."
"I do but..."
Hannah spoke up. "Luna, even I know you've been in love with him since you first met. Just go talk to him and quit pining after him."
Neville added. "Yeah Luna...where is that girl who isn't afraid of anything?"
Luna shook her head. "That girl fell in love with a legendary hero who doesn't know she exists anymore."
Neville scoffed. "I seriously doubt that."
She shook her head. "Okay then...what about why would he ever be interested in crazy assed Luna?"
Neville sighed as they've had this argument many times since the breakup of Harry and Ginny. "Maybe because you've only grown more beautiful over the years. Maybe because he's the one who taught all of us to look and see what's inside rather than what everyone thinks they see."
Luna mock glared at them. "What are you...Vulcan? Using logic on me never works. Besides...Daddy always said logic was the tool of Beelzebub and I wont have anything to do with it."
Neville looked at her for a minute. "So..what's really bothering you?"
Her eyes cut over and they followed them to land on Ginny who was sitting at a table with Ron and Hermione just staring at Harry. "She throws herself at him and he just ignores it. She gorgeous! If she can't turn his head...why would I ever think I would?"
Neville sighed. "She tore down and burnt that bridge a long time ago as did the other two. You know Harry...he'd never go back to someone who tried to manipulate and use him and I know for a fact that he's not dating anyone. In fact..he hasn't for a while. He only ever found girls who wanted to use him. I know he's not happy despite how he seems."
She finally scooted her chair back and stood. She shot him another glare and said. "I hate you Neville Longbottom." She then walked towards where Harry was sitting and laughing. The entire way, she built up her courage and Neville saw her look as fierce as she had been while fighting death eaters. He leaned over to Hannah and said. "This ought to be good. I haven't seen her this determined since she summoned Alecto Carrow's spleen when she was torturing a couple of third years."
Luna stepped up behind Harry and stood there for a second trying to decide what to say. Finally when one by one, the people at the table grew quiet, she spoke. "I very vexed with you Harry Potter."
He spun around and looked into her eyes. "Oh hey Luna...may I ask what I have done to you? I've heard repeatedly what I've done to everyone else."
She sighed. "I've been over there sitting with Neville and Hannah for a while now and you haven't even said hello."
"You looked involved in a conversation. I didn't want to bother you. But now that you're here, why don't you join us?"
She looked around the full table and a sly grin got on her face. "It seems there's no room for anyone else."
Harry looked around the table and saw that it was full. "Well...we'll make some room...we can do magic you know."
Luna whipped out her wand and pointed it at Harry's chair. It then moved back a foot. Once she had it where she wanted, she smiled and sat down in his lap. She wiggled for a minute before she giggled. "There now...the most comfortable chair in the place."
Harry blushed as all his friends started laughing. She spoke again. "I know George Weasley but I think you should introduce me to all your other friends Harry Potter. Well except the ones I met in the DA of course many of them called me Loony. You don't think I'm loony do you Harry Potter?"
"No but um...Luna...you know you could have conjured another chair and sat beside me?"
"Where's the fun in that? Now...introductions if you please? I mean...I need to know who we are going to invite to our wedding."
"Excuse me?"
"Oh Harry...don't look so shocked...besides...I planned to take you for a test drive before doing something so permanent as marriage vows. I mean...I know you'll be quite satisfied but I don't want to be saddled with a half- dead lover for the rest of my life. I think the muggle term is dead fish."
Harry began to sputter. "Um...Luna...shouldn't we at least date first?"
"Oh thank you Harry Potter. I'd love to go on a date with you. Who knows...if it's a good one...you might even get lucky."
George fell to the floor at that point as he couldn't stop himself from laughing so hard. There were several other who lost it and joined him. After Luna gave a satisfied smile, she leaned down and kissed Harry straight on the lips. Once she pulled away, she sighed. "That was good but I think you can do a lot better. We'll have to practice that but I'm sure it will get better over time and once we are married."
Harry was in shock but he knew his old friend was still intent on searching out her creatures. He finally managed to speak again. "Um Luna? You know I play professional Quidditch and am gone a lot. Won't that interfere with your creature search?"
"Oh Harry...I've just started a search for a very wonderful but elusive creature that hasn't been seen in several years. I think me traveling with you will give me more than enough exposure to the one eyed trouser snake that you keep hidden and maybe in the process create enough to bring the clay workers out of the brink of extinction."
She then sighed. "I'll talk to you later as I need to speak to someone else. You can think about where you are taking me on our date." She then kissed him full on the lips again before getting up and going back over to her seat with Neville and Hannah. As she walked by, she gave Ginny, Ron, and Hermione a smirk as she passed. When Ginny caught her eye, she gave a little wink and kept walking.
Neville was chuckling as she sat down. "You confused the hell out of him."
Luna gave a little grin. "No...I used Luna logic on him. I proposed, told him I wanted to bump uglies with him, and that I wanted to have a lot of his babies and got a date out of the whole deal."
Neville head hit the table as he started laughing.

A year later, Harry and a very pregnant Luna were standing in front of a druid exchanging vows with George, Neville, and Hannah acting as witnesses. Before she decided to stop, they had ten children running around the house which was utter chaos but both were as happy as they had ever been.
