Ghoul Break: The Familia's Final Outing:
Prologue

Camila Noceda, Eda, and Lilith Clawthorne looked up from their show when they heard the door open.

Luzura "Luz" Noceda-Clawhtorne slid into the Owl House and went flying when she lost her balance. The Owl Mother had prepared for such an event, and the young human witch landed on some snow-jelly.

The owl Mothers looked as the human witch moaned and pulled herself from the magic creation. Camila looked at her sisters-in-all-but-blood with a smile.

"I told you Plan Thirty-Three was the way to go," Camila said, a hint of smugness in her voice.

With a good-natured shake of their heads, the Clawthorne sisters took out snail pouches and counted out 15 snails each.

"Gracias," the human beast-keeper said as she took her winnings.

"I still don't know what's weirder," Amity Blight-Clawthorne quipped as she and the other Owlets entered the house, "That our mothers had made a game out of my fiancee's dramatic entrances or that Aunt Camila always wins."

"Not that hard to figure out, Blight," Boscha Noceda-Trisight retorted, tugging on the green sleeve of her uniform. "Aunt Camila raised Luz since she was a snot-nosed brat. What I don't get is why Aunt Eda and Aunt Lily bother still betting."

"Who cares!" Luz shouted, startling her friends. "It's Ghoul Break! That means a whole week knocked down! Best of all, my entire family is here this time! Best school break EVERRR!"

The Owl Familia laughed when Luz jumped into the air and tripped upon landing. Lilith composed herself as Amity went to help Luz up.

"Before we begin," Lilith addressed the group, "Make sure your school work is complete."

"Do we have to?" Luz groaned, "Can't it wait? I want to be knock-down right NOW."

"Mija," Camila replied a hint of authority in her voice. "You are going to be knocked down for nearly nine days. So better get your homework done. That way, you wouldn't have to scramble to finish it before school starts."

Luz moaned again and looked at Eda for help. The bard witch offered her adopted daughter an apologetic smile.

"You know where I stand, kiddo," she replied, "But I outvoted here. So get the busywork done as fast as you can."

"Fine," Luz groaned.

The Owlets of the Familia couldn't help but giggle; Luz would jump at the chance to do her homework. However, this changes when it is time for a little "knocked-down" fun.

"C'mon, Luz," Vee said, walking up to her sister. "We will work together and get it done in no time."

Luz gave her sister a weak nod, and the four young witches/demons went up to the second floor to change out of their uniforms and get ready to do their homework.

Once the kids were gone, the Owl mothers looked at each other with grins.

"I Can't wait to see the look on the kids' faces when they see our little surprise tomorrow," Eda said eagerly, and her sister nodded their agreement.

Suddenly, Katya, Amber, Derwin, and King came from the kitchen. Derwin was carrying a couple of containers.

"I take it the potions are ready?" Lilith asked, and Derwin nodded. "Good. Now just follow my instructions and make sure Hunter and the Blight twins get their share."

The group simply nodded and took their leave as King hurried to join the rest of the Owlets.

"...Kid's right about one thing," Eda said offhandedly, grinning mischievously, "This is going to be the best Ghoul Break ever."

And thus, the beginning of the end has started. I want to try something a little different this time; I would like suggestions of what activities the Owl Familia should undertake during this story.
