Pokémon League Headquarters
In the Pokémon League Headquarters, a meeting was being held by four people. These four people were all top-ranking officials in the Pokémon League. Sitting in a circular desk with more seats than necessary for their current needs, the four began to talk about the most recent development in the world that caught their attention.
"And with the World Coronation Series done, we can no begin preparation to commence the other tournament that we had in mind." Said one man with silver hair as he read a report. A report containing on who is now the new Monarch was. To their pleasant surprise, it was someone that had caught the eye of the current Pokémon League president long ago.
"About time that boy, Ash Ketchum if I remember correctly, did something to advance his life goals." Said another man with silver hair but younger looking than the first one, looking like he was in his twenties. "Damn boy was making me pull my hair out in frustration with how many Leagues he's participated in and lost. I'm glad he won the Alolan League and became Alola's champion, but god damn was it frustrating to hear him keep losing all the Leagues he participated in before that."
"You're only frustrated because you were close to losing the pot." Said a third man, this one with black hair. "What's the pot now? Several thousand or so Poke dollars?"
"Eighty thousand last I checked." Said the only woman present. Her black hair shining in the low lighting of the room while she typed on her laptop. "Quite a steep amount. Really shows how much attention the League has for that boy."
"I mean have you heard the shit that boy did or participated in over the years?" Asked the third man. "That boy has seen more legendary Pokémon than anyone else in the freaking planet. And then there's the number of Pokémon and people he's helped over the years too. Some of them groundbreaking help. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if that kid did some stuff that we don't know about as well. And he keeps losing the Leagues when he logically shouldn't, right?"
"I mean that Tobias character from Sinnoh was pretty cool." Said the second silver-haired man. "Moving on though, should we do it? The president wanted to do the thing once the World Coronation Series is over and people can take a break from having a world tournament, but any of you think this is too soon. The World Coronation Series was a big event. I'm not sure people are interested in doing another world tournament so soon. Then there's the issue with the people of Glacies. I mean, the champions of the regions are all powerful and all, but I'm not sure if they're enough. The potential damage to the trainers and their Pokémon when they face Glacies trainers and their Pokemon can seriously hurt the League's reputation. I mean Glacies Pokémon aren't exactly…suited for the rest of the world. What Glacies lacks in terms of unique Pokémon, they make up for in power and tactics."
"Correct." Said the woman as she looked at the skeptical man. "Which is why we're making this tournament a bit different from the tournaments we usually run. Like in ancient history when Glacies attacked the other regions, it'll be a combined effort to take them down and their trainers." Upon hearing that, the skeptical man looked at the woman in surprise.
"Wait, you mean that…" The woman just smirked.
"That's right. This tournament is going to be a team-based tournament." Said the woman before showing a picture of a massive poster with all the regions in the world. At the center with various Pokémon from the various regions was a massive trophy made out of gold. "No doubt that will get the crowds coming to participate. Trainers from all over the world will want to participate. I just know it. My calculations are never wrong."
"Yeah. Provided the demonstration won't send them running back home." Said the second man, skeptical about all this. Before anyone could argue about this, they all heard a door being opened. Turning to the source, they all saw a man in a black and white suit rushing towards them. Running towards the woman, the man took a deep breath before speaking to her.
"Ma'am. I'm sorry to say but we just received word. Charles Goodshow is missing." Said the man, causing everyone to look at him in shock.
"What do you mean missing?" Yelled the woman as everyone looked at the man, who sweated dropped before telling them the details.
Meanwhile
Pallet Town
"Oh man, I can't wait to see mom again." Said the young boy known as Ash Ketchum as he saw his hometown of Pallet Town in sight. His starter and best friend, Pikachu, yelled out a confirmation. They had been on their never-ending Journey to become a Pokemon Master when they received a video call from their mom while they were in Vermillion City. She asked them to come home as quickly as possible, saying she had something really important for Ash that he had to be there in person to see. Seeing the smile on his mother's face, Ash agreed and began the trek home. As they walked towards Ash's home, Ash began to reminisce.
"I miss everyone, you know, Pikachu." Said Ash as he looked at his starter as remembered all their traveling companions. "Misty. Brock. Dawn. Serena. May. Everyone. I hope that they're all out achieving their dreams the same as we are, Pikachu. I know that we all had to separate eventually in order to realize our dreams, but still. I kind of wish that they were all here to celebrate when I became Monarch or when I became the Alola Champion a year ago. Kind of selfish of me to say, huh?" Pikachu just shook his head. Like his trainer, Pikachu missed their traveling companions and he also wished for them to be around so they can celebrate Ash's first-ever conference win as well as his recent title as Monarch. Alas, they weren't around and though that was a shame, Pikachu knew that it was for the best. They all had their own dreams to pursue and it wasn't right for them to take time away from pursuing their own dreams. They'll just have to make do with who was around right now. That includes all of Ash's Pokémon in Oak's ranch and his mother.
"Pikachu." Said Pikachu as he voiced his agreement. Sighing as he thought of his former traveling companions and how they were all doing. Reaching his home, Ash opened the door and yelled out to his mom, Delia, that he was home.
"Mom!" Yelled Ash as he took off his sneakers and went inside. "I'm home! What's so important that you wanted me to come home to see in person?" As he was making his way to the living room, Ash noticed that the lights were turned off and the drapes were covering the windows. Tilting his head in confusion, Ash walked into the living room and was completely shocked when the lights were suddenly lit up.
"Surprise!" Yelled a whole bunch of voices as Ash recovered from the sudden light-up. Blinking his eyes a bit, Ash looked ahead and saw, much to his shock, all of his former traveling companions up to Kalos were inside the living room with his mother. And by everyone, he meant everyone. From Misty to Serena. Everyone he had traveled with from Kanto to Kalos were in his home and all of them looked happy and excited to see him again.
"Congratulations Ash!" Yelled everyone as Brock, Cilan, and Clemont were holding a sizable cake together with the words, "To the new Monarch," written out with blue frosting. Stunned at all this reception, Ash's shock soon turned into joy as he saw all of his former traveling companions together, all smiling and happy to see him with his mother bearing a proud smile for her only son at all that he accomplished ever since he partook in his first journey.
"Guys!" Yelled Ash as he looked at everyone. "I can't believe you all came to celebrate this! I wanted you guys to be here when I celebrated with Goh and Chloe, but I didn't want to get in the way of your own dreams!"
"What are you talking about? Such a little kid." Said Iris with a smirk as the Unova Champion smiled at her friend. "You honestly think we wouldn't have made time to celebrate you becoming Monarch? After everything, you did for us and all the times we had? It's the least we can do."
"Yeah." Said Max as he adjusted his glasses with a smile. "All the things we learned."
"All the good times we had." Said May as she stood next to Serena, who blushed at seeing her crush again.
"All the Pokémon we met and made friends with." Said Dawn with a smile while her starter Piplup puffed its chest proudly.
"It's all thanks to you." Said Serena as she finished for everyone and their thoughts on Ash and his impact on all their lives.
"And to think it all started when you stole my bike." Said Misty with a smile while shaking her head. "Anyway, Ash Ketchum. Don't you dare try to make any of us leave. We weren't there to celebrate with you in person before when you won the Master Eight tournament and we're going to rectify that now. Because we're all your friends and that's what friends are for." As everyone else nodded their heads in agreement, Delia spoke up.
"While I'm so proud of my boy for making such a positive impact on all your lives, we got to start eating." Said Delia with a smile. "The food getting cold and no one wants to eat cold food in a celebratory meal now, right?" Upon hearing that, everyone nodded in agreement before leaving for the kitchen so they can grab their food and head for the backyard, where they would all eat in peace and talk with one another. Just as the first people were about to get their food, the entire house shook, causing plates and silverware to rattle.
"What in the world?" Asked Cilan as he held the cake with Clemont and Brock, both of whom were wondering the same thing.
"What's going on?" Asked Dawn as everyone went outside, only to be shocked when they saw a helicopter approaching and soon hovering near the Ketchum residence. Everyone then saw the logo on the Helicopter's side doors and gasped in shock when they saw the Pokémon League symbol on it. What was the League doing here?
Before anyone could speculate the doors opened up and out came a single man wearing a jetpack. Freefalling, the man waited a few seconds before activating his jetpack, using it to slow his descent, enabling him to land safely on the ground. Upon landing, he looked at the assembled crowd of kids, teenagers, and women before speaking up.
"Ask Ketchum!" Yelled the man before pulling out an envelope from a pocket in his strange and form-fitting armor. "I got a very important announcement for you and your compatriots! You are all invited to the newest tournament that the Pokemon League is intending to set up in a few months!" As everyone gasped at that, the man suddenly smelled food in the house. Despite being uninvited, the man couldn't help but salivate by the good quality smell that came from the house. He just hoped that Ash Ketchum was as kind-hearted as the League said he was. That food really smelled good.
Things to note before this fic gets more traction. One, Ash, and several girls (Mainly Pokegirls with a few others because I can't help myself whenever I bloody make a bet that affects the stories I write, and often its romance.). Two, I haven't really delved much in the latest Pokemon games and anime so I don't know much about Z moves and all the stuff after generation six. So please forgive me if I get things wrong, which will probably come cause Z moves are a definite thing here. Along with Goh, Chloe, and a bunch of other things I need to know more about. Much to my dismay. Thirdly, forgive me, but there will be times when there are seemingly OP Pokémon from OC-owned Pokémon during the first couple of battles with them. You'll know when I write them.
That is all. Please review. You don't have to if you don't want to, but I think it's okay to ask for reviews. I think.
