Marinette was glad the school day was over. Gathering her books quickly, she decided to take walk in the nearby park. Instead of focusing on the lessons today, she had admired the fall colors of the leaves on the trees.
She took a deep breath of fresh air and stuck her hands in her pockets. "Are we going to get hot chocolate after this?" Tikki asked, hopefully. Marinette smiled, for she felt affection for her Kwami. "You just want me to buy you a warm chocolate chip-whoa!"
Marinette broke off mid-sentence as slid on a pile of wet leaves on the path. Until a pair of hands caught her and set her upright. "Do you always talk to yourself on walks, Marinette?" Marinette looked up into Adrien's eyes. The most beautiful eyes in the world. "No, I, was, uh, just wondering when I should get hot chocolate." "I was planning on getting a cup myself. Would you like to get one together?" Marinette might ignore everyone else at school, but she had a soft spot for Adrien. "Yeah, I'd like that." "Good."
They walked along the trail in silence for a moment, but Marinette kept peeking at Adrien, who was doing the same thing. "I like to sit by the water at the small stream in the forest," Adrien told her. "There's a stream?" she stopped walking. "May I see it?" Adrien nodded, veering off the path and leading her down a small hill. "Careful, its a bit slippery here," Adrien held out his hands and Marinette slid carefully down the hill. Her heart felt light and was it her imagination or had Adrien squeezed her hands?
"This is it," he said, with a wave of his hand. "My secret spot to write in my journal and think." Marinette drew in a sharp breath. His secret spot was beautiful. A few orange and yellow leaves floated lazily down the stream and the sun peeking through the trees made the water sparkle a brilliant blue. "Its beautiful, Adrien. I can see why you like it."
They sat down, and Adrien looked at her, almost as if he was studying her. "What?" "Can you keep a secret?" Marinette hid a smile. "Yes." "I come here when I miss my mom. In this secret spot," Adrien took a deep breath. "I can cry." Marinette blinked several times. Adrien Agreste, soft? He had a bad boy rep at school, but soft? "Why tell me," she whispered. "I'm no one special." "That's not true, for I like you, Marinette." she looked at sharply. "Me?" "Yeah. I think your sweet." "I thought I was invisible, but if anyone can see me, I'm glad its you." "Marinette?" "May I kiss you?" "Don't tell anyone at school. Yes."
Her soft perfume smelled of lilacs, and his hair was the softest hair she could ever remember weaving her hands through. Well, other then Claw's. A cloud covered the sun, and Marinette shivered as they broke apart. Whether it was from the kiss or the wind, she wasn't sure. "Now, I owe you a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie. Oh, you have a leaf in your hair."
As they sat talking in a back corner of Starbucks, Marinette could still taste Adrien's kiss. Marinette still liked being alone, but she would made one exception and that was Adrien Agreste.
