After Vee and Azula got to know each other as well as befriended each other, Vee was visiting Azula's home to hang out and such. She had even met Azula's mother Sakamoto, a woman from a wealthy family in Japan. Though she didn't want to stress herself with running her family's company to raise Azula. Her father was a famous fictional writer, though he had passed away due to cancer a while back.
However, Vee began to overhear a new broadcast with an interview of the CEO of White Star Corporation with someone named Straxus Nebulous speaking about some kind of Spacecraft and its unfortunate crash landing. The Human being interview was well-dressed in a collared shirt with a vest over it and a set of jeans of his professional field. Yet, Vee took note of how they also seemed suited for combat if necessary. Straxus looked like he was approaching his mid-fifties yet did not seem to be worn down by his age. "We have yet to determine what had caused our space shuttle to malfunction as it has upon reentry, Mr Brock. However, I do ensure that our top technicians and scientists will be looking into the matter." He told a famed reporter named Eddie Brock, who didn't seem to buy this story Straxus was telling him.
Eddie laughed a bit as he continued on with the interview. "I can see that Mr. Nebulous… Though, I have been hearing some rumors that I would like to get your opinion on due to the disturbing info that they entail if you don't mind." He requested with a barely noticeable sly smirk, "To clear the air, you know." Eddie told Straxus who seemed a bit puzzled by this, yet he nodded to accept this request.
"Please proceed, but I recommend that you avoid the claims that appear to be more conspiracy rather than 'educated false claims'. Keeping professionalism in this type of manner is quite important when diving into these wild claims." Straxus said with a small laugh as he folded his hands behind his back. "After all, you may have an excellent reputation as an investigative reporter. You may have seen your own share of crazy conspiracies on the job." He added on as they two shared a laugh at this relatable situation that comes with the territory of their professions.
"Hey, Azula… Who is that guy on the news?" Vee asked the goth girl as she turned to the TV. Azula looked over to the screen to see who she was talking about. Yet Azula wasn't glad to see the man on the TV as she looked away in anger.
"That is the Corporate asshole, Straxus Nebulous. His company may seem like they are trying to better people's lives with their technology and what have you ..." She started before glaring at the Powerful CEO, "Yet there are a lot of rumors mentioning how inhumane his means of achieving them are. None of them are pretty." She finished off as Eddie pulled a memo pad for noteworthy rumors that he wanted to discuss.
He flipped through the pad as Straxus' seemed to narrow his eyes on Eddie, as if he wasn't expecting this type of research conducted by the reporter. "So, let's start off with the rumor that your company's 'volunteers' are often the most vulnerable and exploitable members of society. More often than not leading to their death by these experiments with an unknown form of energy you have created." Brock read off as he looked up to Straxus. He saw that the CEO's entire demeanor had shifted entirely from a kind older man to someone who expressed a very chilling and frightening sense of Cold Wrath behind his mask. "The infamous Sanguine Star, of course. Any of that true Mr Nebulous?" Eddie questioned as he was somewhat intimidated by Straxus' sudden shift in character.
Straxus closed his eyes as he let out a small enraged chuckle to recompose himself to answer the question properly. "Many have questioned that particular elemental discovery, Eddie Brock. Though the claims regarding the Element itself are not accurate." He began as the presence of his stone-cold fury seemed to fill the air between him and Eddie. "The expedition that allowed us to discover the element was not one that we at White Star are proud of. After all, many were killed when the cavern's collapsed due to the heavy machinery malfunctioning. The cause of this by the unusual energy aura created by the Sanguine Star is nothing less than tragic." Straxus explained as he recalled the reports, "Though I assure you that the families of the workers lost in these events have been well compensated for the loss of these employees." He went on as Straxus turned to the cameraman who clearly was a bit frightened by him addressing him personally.
"But I will state now that I won't be answering any further questions. This interview is over and I will request for the two of you to leave." Straxus declared before he had calmed himself and reverted into the state of the kind older man, "Though I thank the Daily Bugle for taking the time to discuss the advancements of my company and what we plan to achieve for the future." He announced with a smile as the two obliged to the CEO's request. With that, the news broadcast resumed to normal. Yet Vee was a bit disturbed by the mention of this Sanguine Star. She had heard about this proclaimed Element from the people who had created her, her twin brother Novi, and the other basilisks. She knew what was truly needed to create this item of power and it needed a large amount of this material to even forge it…
Though close outside of the Emiko estate was a van that was posing as a cable repair company, yet inside was a crew of Agents observing the residents with specialized equipment. "Looks like you were right about the Magical Anomaly and that something came through, Jacob Hopkins." One of the Agents stated as he looked back at the Professor who seemed glad that he wasn't being seen as an absolute nutcase. "Though, I have to admit that we weren't expecting to find two sets of Yokai too." The Agent stated a middle-aged man who wore a suit, gloves, and shoes all colored white as he leaned onto the counter within the surveillance van. He looked at the three residents within the building with some short of murderous fascination about these creatures as he used his hat to fan himself.
"Well, this is quite a score for the both of us, right?" Hopkins announced with a smile, "Though you are keeping your promise that you'll give me the credit I deserve for this find, Agent Kimblee?" He asked the agent who nodded to this claim.
"If we capture them though." Kimblee stated as he sent his report to White Star HQ.
