Chapter 8: Mall Shootout
We first see Tommy arriving to Cortez's yacht, he sees him lying relaxed in a lounging chair and greets Tommy when he sees him.
"Tommy! Come, join me." He then points to the food beside him "This looks delicious, huh? Tapir snout?"
Tommy gave one hard look at the food first, before finding it weird and just simply says, "Uhh…no, no. No thanks."
"Tommy, you are like a pampas breeze that has freed me from the stench of corruption, although, I must appear to mourn his passing and carry on with business as usual." Saying it with relief.
"This isn't getting me any closer to my money…" seemed okay with what he's covered so far, but still impatient because he's not getting any crack yet as to what happened to Sonny's money and where it was.
Cortez, realizing the distress in his voice, calmly assured him, "Tommy, my friend, you are not in Liberty City now. Here we do things differently."
"I will continue with my enquiries, but in the mean time I have a valuable deal to close."
Tommy, already aware of what to do next, quickly says, "A favor for a friend, Cortez?"
" You're a good friend, Tommy. I knew you would not let me down." Saying it so that he could have a small ego boost. "I need you to meet a courier who has obtained some valuable technology for me…"
Tommy, already told of the instructions on what to do, makes his way to the mall and meets the courier, Pierre La Ponce on the second floor of the mall.
La Ponce, looks and ponders at the rain, seemingly mesmerized by it and says, "Ze rain, she is tres wet zis time of the year…"
"What?" Tommy was obviously confused to what he just said.
La Ponce turns around and spots Tommy and asks, "Ah, coment?"
"Look, Cortez sent me, just give me the damn chips." Saying it with a rush so as to get this job done.
"Oh, …d'accord."
Unfortunately the GIGN ambushes the deal before La Ponce can hand over the guidance chips to Tommy.
"Freeze, imperialist American pig! Zat iz propertay of ze government Francais. 'And eet over!"
La Ponce, realizing what just happened immediately ran down the escalator, "You American idiot! They followed you here!"
As soon as the GIGN appears, La Ponce makes a dash to some PCJ 600s parked outside, gets on one of them and tries to escape the mall, forcing Tommy to chase him and kill him to retrieve Cortez' merchandise. Upon retrieving the guidance chips, Lincoln returns to the Ocean Bay Marina and gives them to Cortez.
