Chapter 9 : Perfect

It has been a week and Miguel has bonded with Mirabel's family and it turns out he has been helping out a lot and having a lot of fun, But especially with his Mirabel on this particular morning he was helping Julieta make breakfast.
"So Mijo What's in like in Mexico?" Julieta asked
"Amazing but it can be quiet sometimes but that's very rare with us Rivera's I barely get any quiet my sisters always up to something, I love my family but they are too much sometimes". He replied
"Ah I get it our family is the same Love don't worry ". She smiled
"Really?" Miguel looked shocked
"Si". Julieta laughs
"Huh I would have never known". Miguel smiles
Julieta laughed as she continued turning dough in her hands and he smiled who knew Mirabel 's Family was so warmly and welcoming.
"So tell me again how does Mira run this town and village with such ease?" Miguel asked
"To be honest Mijo some days she barely gets by ever since Mamá passed away she has been finding it hard since she feels like she has to feel her shoes all the time and we tell her to take it easy but just like me she is stubborn." Julieta explains
"Reminds me of someone else I know". Miguel sighed
"Oh?" Julieta coaxed
"My Mamá Imelda is the same she tends to not listen to her family sometimes even when we tell her it's okay to let go sometimes, I honestly don't know how her and my Papá Héctor ended up together ". Miguel replied
"Well I am sure they are very happy together even after all that had happened ". Julieta nodded
"They are very much". Miguel smiled
"And I can see you make my Mirabel very happy and I am glad she has found someone that she loves deeply and not like the boys in town , I never liked any of them don't tell her I said that". Julieta laughed
"I won't promise ". He replied
Bruno had awoken and had his morning coffee and looked refreshed as was the rest of the family, Dolores started settling the table along with Camilo.
"Morning Miguel How did you sleep?" Isabela asked
"Very well thank you ". Miguel smiled
"That's good ". Isabela nodded
Isabela poured coffee for herself and Camilo then looked at her Mamá and helped with the food.
"Gracias Mija ". Julieta thanked
"Oh I almost forgot the summer festival is tonight". Antonio mentioned
"Si although I don't know how Mira feels about making speeches like Abuela did every year, I am worried about that ". Dolores pointed out
"Relax she's our Mira she'll be fine ". Bruno said
"Oh what summer festival?" Miguel asked
"Oh Lo siento Miguel, The summer festival is to celebrate our achievements as a town and welcome new beginnings, Abuela started it just before she passed but now that she has Mirabel has to step in and do it". Isabela explains
"It's actually quite fun we have food and dancing and music and place notes on the gratitude tree to say what we are grateful and thankful for ". Camilo finished
"That's sounds fun". Miguel said
"Oh it is , your welcome to come with us if you wish". Bruno said
"I would love to". Miguel nodded
Just then Mirabel came downstairs looking beautiful in a teal dress but still tired, She went and grabbed some coffee and joined her Family at the table.
Miguel came close and hugged her and whispered and pressed a few kisses to her cheek gently.
"Good Morning Mi Amor, you look beautiful this morning ". He whispered
"Gracias Mi vida and you look muy guapo as ever." she replied laughing
The family did a few mental aww's and placed hands over their hearts including Isabela and Dolores, Camilo just rolled his eyes but over the weeks Miguel has been in the Encanto he has learned that Miguel would never hurt Mirabel and he would protect her, But still doesn't like the deep shows of affection and still looked away at the couple.
"How did you sleep Mija?" Pepa asked
"Fine Tia Gracias ". Mirabel smiled
Mirabel sat down next to Miguel and poured some orange juice and filled her plate with some home made Arepas that Julieta had made.
"We were just talking about the summer festival coming up tonight ". Camilo Mentions
Miguel lightly smacked him on the shoulder as a sign to shut up before things escalate.
"Oh?" Mirabel coaxed her head
"Si how are you feeling about it Mariposa?" Bruno asked
"I'm feeling pretty good actually, I mean I know Abuela would be proud of us all , I have realised That it's time for me to see what I can do". Mirabel smiled
The family including Miguel looked quite shocked but also proud to hear her say those words and smiled at her and then each other.
"Well that's fantastic Mira". Felix exclaimed
The family then finished breakfast then did dishes some of the Madrigals had the day off so they relaxed and helped when they could but never to overwork themselves, The rest went about their chores and tried to help as best as they could.
Mirabel was at the stables she was Getting Bella one of the horses ready to ride, Bella was a very playful horse and tried her best to cheer Mirabel up as best as she could, Miguel popped up beside her and smiled and she smiled back.
"Mi Amor are you sure your okay it's okay to talk about it?" Miguel asked
"Si Mi vida don't worry ". She reassured
"Ok I am just making sure". He smiled
"Do you want to go riding it's fun?" Mirabel laughed
"Sure". Miguel replied
"Just to be clear you have ridden a horse before have you not". Mirabel smiled
"Yes My Mamá's side of the family lives in on a farm in Santa Cecila and I was taught there". Miguel answers
"I didn't know that you've never Mentioned riding before". Mirabel looked interested
"My Mamá was a farmer and a dancer before she married Mi papá ". Miguel stated
"Really?" Mirabel asked while mounting Bella
"Si, I started riding when I was 3". Miguel replies
"Well I am surprised Mi Amor". Mirabel nodded
They spent the next hour Riding and laughing and talking about their families. Everything and anything is talked about and smiles were shared.
"Are you ready for tonight and the speech?" Miguel asked
"Si I thought about what she said in the land of the dead and I finally understand that the Miracle is created to keep my family safe but also to be loved and cherished". Mirabel said
"I am proud of you Mi Amor". Miguel nodded
When they reached the stable they fed and watered the horses, They smiled and walked back hand in hand to Casita . When they came back they were surprised to see all decorations were up and food was all prepared.
"What's all this?" Mirabel was shocked
"Oh Mija you're here, we figured to take some stress off of you we decided it be best to help out since you and Miguel were out". Pepa said
"Oh you didn't have to". Mirabel replies
"Nonsense, Remember you're not in this alone and we're here to help you any way we can". Camilo smiles
Mirabel put a hand to her heart and thanked her family for all that they have done and then went and hugged Miguel tightly.
"You planned this didn't you?" She smirked
"Maybe, But I'll never tell". Miguel smiles
Soon the hour rolled around and the couple were in the land of the dead talking to Miguel's family and laughing.
"So I hear Miguel has ridden a horse and he hasn't done that in a very long time". Imelda stated
"Si, Jasper was very calm and didn't fret he's quite the brave horse". Mirabel replies
"Are you sure he didn't buck him off Mija?" Felipe asked
"Si Tio". Mirabel laughed
Miguel pouted terrified that his Tio would suggest something like that.
"Maybe if you wanted Miguel to fall off so bad we could of put you on Jasper and see how you like it granted it would make you think twice before making fun of your Nephew ". Mirabel shot back
The rest of the family lost at laughing, Oscar smirked and Imelda high fives her Héctor then went and hugged her tightly.
"I'd have to say I never thought that would come out". Julio smiled
"Well just like you Papá Julio and much like the rest of the family if you push my buttons I will most definitely have something to say back, It happens all the time at home to make then shocked or so scared they back down". Mirabel replies
"If I didn't know any better I'd say you're a mix of Imelda and Alma combined ". Héctor stated
"You really think so?" She coaxed
"Si, keep that fiery spirit it makes you fearless ". Julio said
"Gracias Papá Julio " Mirabel thanked
Mirabel then looked at the clock and hurried out.
"Que pasa Mira?" Miguel asked
"The festival starts in an hour and I haven't changed". Mirabel said
"Do you have your dress?" Héctor asked
"Si". She nodded
"Why don't you change in the bathroom Mija that way when you get back you don't have to rush so much". Héctor offered
"Are you sure?" Mirabel asked
"Of course Mija go do it now before your late". Imelda shooed
"Gracias". Mirabel thanked
Mirabel then rushed off to the bathroom and hurried to change , while that was happening Miguel helped Rosita clean up.
"You and Mirabel Mijo are more than we bargained for, I can tell you now she is way better than any other girls you may have courted". Rosita smiled
"Que?" He coaxed his head
"Not that I have anything against those girls, it's just you and Mirabel you two seem to click you love each other for who you are and that's what Really matters". Rosita shook her hands
"Ah I get what you mean , she is amazing in every way I just don't know how she doesn't see herself sometimes ". Miguel replies
"Well you can't change what's already happened Mijo, what you can do however is love her and treat her well". Rosita nods
"Your right Gracias Tia". Miguel kissed her cheek
"I'm ready". Mirabel called
"Down here Amor". Miguel replies
Mirabel then came down the stairs in a beautiful blue knee length dress with golden butterflies sewn at the hem and yellow flats to match and a white headband.
"Miguel Estas bein?" She asked
Meanwhile Miguel was standing there mouth open agape and eyes wide and shook.
"I think he is frozen Mija". Rosita chuckled
Just then Imelda walked In to find Miguel frozen at his spot and she looked towards Mirabel and laughed.
"Seeing you in that dress Mija must have flipped him out, Not to mention the beautiful handiwork and details". Imelda laughed
"Gracias I thought I could do with something simple". Mirabel replied
Miguel finally shook his head out of his thoughts and looks straight towards Mirabel and stepped forward to get a good look at what she was wearing.
"You look amazing, stunning ". Miguel compliments
"Gracias". Mirabel blushed
"Okay you two , you better leave before your late don't want the town to start getting worried do we?" Imelda stated
"Si". Mirabel smiled
So with that they waved goodbye and said they would come back soon and quickly ran out the door holding hands.
"Looks like our Miguel has found the love of his life ". Imelda smiled
"Si, just like I found you". Héctor whispered
Imelda rolled her eyes and smirked and went back to her work whilst Héctor followed behind.
~~~ In the Encanto~~~
The community was busing with excitement , Everyone was spread out having fun some were at the drink and food table while kids were running around and Adults and teens having conversation. Mirabel was talking to señor Flores about the new arrangements for the church.
"Oh I am so excited I can't wait for the outside lessons ". Flores exclaimed
"Si , I am too". Mirabel replies
"Que?" He asked
"Nada , just thinking about something ". Mirabel shooed
"Your abuela would be so proud of you Mija I mean look how far you have come you've changed and helped us all and for that we will forever be grateful ". Flores replied
"Gracias". Mirabel replies
Just then she saw her family and the townspeople starting to put notes on the gratitude tree, She smiled and went over to them and started to write what she was grateful for.
"Aww Isa That is so sweet". Dolores said
" I am always going to be grateful to my family, Also For the time I spend with you". Isabela stated
"What about you tontito what are you grateful for?" Isabela asked
"I am grateful for my friends and the hugs I get in return". Antonio replies
"What about you Tio?" Camilo asked
"Being back with the family even after all these years". Bruno said
"Aww Gracias Tio". Luisa thanked
"What about you Miguel what are you grateful for?"
"Me?" He coaxed
"Si". Pepa nodded
"Hm, Finding the love of my life and seeing new parts of the world". Miguel then stuck the note to the tree and smiled brightly at the thought.
"Aww Estas muy Linda ". Isabela cooed
"Si, you really love my Prima don't you". Antonio said
Miguel nodded and smiled brightly.
"Speaking of which where is Mirabel?" Julieta pointed out
"Im here Mamá ". Mirabel yelled
"I was just talking to señor Flores that's all". Mirabel nodded
"Estas bien Mija did you write your note yet?" Pepa asked
"Si". She blushed
"Well go on put it on the tree". Felix pushed
Mirabel stuck the note on the tree and smiled, then she stood next to her family and leaned her head against Miguel.
The family and townspeople looked at the note curious to see what the girl had written , She smiled up at Miguel and kissed him.
The Note read:
I'm grateful for creating my own miracle with my family by my side and also finding love.
The family in the towns people smiled at the little note on the tree and looked at her.
"That's beautiful Mariposa ". Bruno smiled
"Well it's true every single word". Mirabel stated
"Amor you continue to surprise me every day, Te Amo Mi Amor de Mi vida". Miguel smiles
Mirabel is shook by his words and stands frozen sill whilst looking at him in the eyes.
"What did you just say?" She asked again
"I said I love you and that you are the love of my life Always and forever ". Miguel smiles
"Yo Tambien Músico ". She smiled
He then kissed her and laughed, Then they danced and had conversations with people and sung the night away.
Mirabel was talking to one of the kids, When Miguel grabbed her hand gently.
"Excuse me do you mind if I take her Chica". Miguel asked
"No, not at all". Natalia piped
Then the 11 year old walked off without a second thought.
" Que estás haciendo?" Mirabel laughed
"Taking you to a special place ". Miguel simply replies
"Vamos ". Miguel yelled
The couple then went through the door and transported back to Santa Cecilia but not in the town but near a tree.
"Where are we?" Mirabel laughs
"This is my special place". Miguel said
Then they took each other's hand and sat down under the shady part of the tree .
" This is where My Mamá Imelda and Papá Héctor met and fell in love ". Miguel explains
" Wow I never knew, is that Why you took me here". She coaxed her head
"Si, Also to show you that I love you Always and forever no matter what happens". Miguel expresses
"Miguel…" Mirabel was breathless
"I never thought I would find someone who knows exactly what it's like to be strong for my family but I never thought I could find someone so special so kind ,so fearless and so brave that she was willing to do anything for her family". Miguel stated
" I feel the same way, I never thought someone could love me the way you do. You understand what it's like to want to break down your always scared and that's okay, it's okay to fail it's okay to make mistakes but the point is we are learning from them and I'll always be there for you Miguel I will always be yours no matter what adventure brings Us". Mirabel smiles
" Te amo Mirabel ". Miguel laughs
" Te amo tanto músico". Mirabel replies

AN : Well that's it my lovelies for this book but the sequel will be on its way soon so look out for that let me know how I did because I think I did a pretty good job but I want to know your thoughts and yeah, also the tree if you have not read my other book Te amo The tree is the same tree where Miguel proposed to Mirabel. Also Imelda and Héctor the symbolism with that tree is where they first met and yes they are back in the land of the dead for a little while because I didn't want to leave them hanging their families in the land of the living just by themselves so yeah and I thought it would be nice because Casita creates a door that they can go through to get to the land of the dead . Crossovers don't you just love them.
