This is my first fanfic that I have posted please forgive me for any errors (example lucien or lucian stupid auto correct) and i hope you enjoy!
Intro :
The high-stakes club , three young vampire hunters. Joni the red a pretty blonde tomboy, she is the the leader of the crew, strict and is the oldest. Helsie a younger pretty girl, carefree but smart and cunning. Lucien West, the middle child u could say. He is the strongest and more of the protector of the three are like family and move place to place, taking on missions to hunt monsters and vampires.
Recently they moved into an old castle that has been renovated to modern times. They have been staying there for a couple years. Since they had a lead on a vampire prince, A pure the big mission to kill the pure blood. It was successful but joni and helsie was nearly killed. Lucian in the battle between the two killed the pure blood but got turned into a vampire the thing he sought to destroy.
Now Lorenzo the reckless, during this time he was at a near by at a exploration camp. There is a crater type jungle that hasn't been investigated or explored. So Lorenzo and his crew is there to access fossils ,live dinosaurs , ruins ect. He knows the highs takes club well they come in contact often with fighting monsters and missions.
Chapter 1 pov of Lorenzo:
Its a sunny day today, im sweating bullets and my crew is whining in the shade with water while I'm out here working my ass off. I sigh and check the time 4:50 "almost time to head back" I lean down to the ground and dust off the last fossil. When I hear a commotion back at the tent where my team is. I walk back over to see the high stakes club but without a team member, Lucian.
My team members and others were surrounding the two like they were pop stars. Helsie lights up when she sees me and comes over to hug me. "Lorenzo! We were looking for you!" She says with a big smile looking up at me. I hug her back with a returning smile. "Oh really?, what's the big commotion?" Helsie lets go and frowns then looks at joni. oh no I thought when I seen Joni's face. The usually composed and emotionless face of Joni is showing obvious signs of sorrow and worry.
"Its Lucian, we need your help can we borrow you tonight."
I felt shock and confusion when she asked me that but i nodded yes and didn't ask further cause of the crowd.
We hopped into a car and drove for 15 minutes. I was shocked to see that these youngsters lived in such a huge castle. It was beautiful and very well maintained. The main building was very tall and had one shorter half building on its right. Its roof was orange and the windows was still ancient. We got out of the car and walked to the main huge wooden/metal door. Joni let me in and Helsie stayed beside me. The inside was very modern and clean. In the middle of my aw joni spoke up.
"We have a favor to ask you, we promise it will be safe as possible."Helsie grabbed my hand and looked down at our hands
"Lucien got turned into a vampire, before u ask how or why and why we Don't just give him our blood. We have tried, its a long story and we need ur help now."
Helsie said as she looked up at me eyes went wide, i was astonished. When i talked to him before he would always say 'ill kill all the vampires and monsters to protect my family and friends" i remember him telling me about a horrific incident in the past that made him hate vampires. I shook my head and asked"Why me?"
Joni looked me in the eyes and said "He's rejecting blood, we have tried us, multiple other people and we are hoping u will save him. He's losing his sanity and humanity Lorenzo. Please help us"
I nodded, worse case scenario ill get anemic…hopefully. Joni grabbed a tissue and handed it to Helsie. Helsie let go of my hand and wiped her red eyes. "You guys are great to be around and you've helped me in the past, you do not need to repay me for this okay?" I said as i patted Helsie's head. They both nodded and smiled. "Wait here let me get the equipment" joni said as he motioned stay with her hands and walked away.
When she came back she had a golden cross on a necklace, a stake shotgun and another wooden stake that she handed to me. I look at her shocked. "I know what your thinking but, if Lucian kills anyone he wouldn't live with it. This is for your own protection, now follow me."
Joni led me to a small wooden door near the back of the building. Helsie quietly followed behind. She opened it and it lead down a Stoney flight of pulled a torch from the wall and lit it. "Cmon" she motioned me and i continued to follow. The stairs was shorter than i thought and we reached the bottom. She lit another torch that was bigger and it lit up the room. It reveal 2 cells one on each side of the room and a strange deep anaconda hissssssss came from the one on the right. It startled me since ive encountered a lot of anacondas in my time, but this was no anaconda. Two bright red eyes stared at me from the center of the cell. Lucian, he was chained up to the wall and hugging his knees. He was sending daggers at me with his blood red eyes.
"Ren, all you need to do is stick your arm in there. Hopefully we wont have to force feed him." Joni said not taking her eyes off Lucian aiming the stake gun at him. Been while since she said my nickname must be trying to keep me at ease. "Alright" i swallowed and slowly stuck my arm in the cell. Lucian got up and walked over to me. His chains were at their limits, he said nothing and stood there looking at me. I smiled at him then he suddenly and aggressively grabbed my arm. I groaned from the sudden yank and i could hear Joni clicking her gun getting ready to shoot in case. Helsie was covering her eyes and looking away. Lucian suddenly started licking my forearm his red eyes focused on my arm. He looked into my eyes then bit down hard in the middle if my forearm.
I grunted and held my arm loose for good blood flow. "That's a really good sign. He's finally eating without putting up a fight." Joni said behind me.
Suddenly my vision got blurry and got weak in the knees for a sec. "Shit." I said as i grabbed onto the cell to hold myself up. Lucians grip only got stronger, and i could hear a deep growl come from him. "Lucian thats enough!" Joni said, i heard rattling of the gold cross necklace behind me. I tried to pull my arm out but he was too strong. He dug his talon like nails into my arm and let out a loud roaring hiss. I let out a gasp in pain. Joni put her hand on my chest quickly and shoved the cross in Lucian's face. He let go a and quickly ran to the back of his cell on one knee with one hand in his face with more growls and hisses. I fell back on the floor soon as he let go and passed out. Last thing remember is joni and helsie yelling at me and panicking.
When I woke up I couldn't tell what time it was. I was immediately attacked by pain in my left arm from Lucian. I lifted it up to look at the damage but it was already neatly bandaged up. I noticed i was still in the castle with the walls being made of stone. I was laying in a bedroom with a very nice fancy bed and fancy guest room furniture.
I looked to the right if me on the nightstand there was some tea that seemed still hot and some cookies. I groaned as i cracked my back and ate the cookies and enjoyed the tea.
I got up and walked out luckily the room wasn't to far off from the living room where I found Helsie and Joni talking about a mission.
They both looked at me shocked.
"Lorenzo are you okay?"
"What are you doing up?!"
They both said at the same time, i smiled and motioned a calming motion. "Calm down I had worse imp fine, I promise. How is Lucian?"
Helsie ran over to me and started looking at my arm while Joni crossed her arms looking at me the said "He hasn't thrown it back up and is talking to us finally, but you probably already know he is not happy."
Helsie grabbed my hand and pulled me a bit "come sit down we can answer your questions as i change your bandages." I nodded and sat down on the couch next to a big table where a huge map is on.
"Well first off what time is it? "I asked totally not knowing how long i slept after i passed out
"Its only the next day don't worry."Helsie said as she unwinded my bandages and reveal 4 long cuts on my outer arm near my elbow. Not to mention the two fang marks on my forearm.
Joni sat down in a smaller couch next to mine and said "Well to tell you how this happened. We finally found the vampire prince, aka a pure blood. After 2 long years, we had a huge fight with him a month ago. Me and helsie nearly died but Lucian managed to fight him himself but-"
(flashback to the fight)
Lucian is on his back with the vampire prince on top of him. In a flash Lucian managed to pierce the princes heart with a golden stake. The vampire got angry and bit Lucian. "If i cant be happy and live you cant be happy and cant die for eternity" the price said as he bit his tongue and mixed his blood with Lucian's then kissed him and forced him to drink it turning him into a vampire.
(end of flashback)
"Wow.." I said grabbing my face shocked and impressed by how Lucian fought for his friends and sacrificed himself for them, But saddened at the same fact. My heart skipped a beat thinking about the same man who fought for his friends biting my arm hungrily. "?" My face went from shock to confusion. 'Did my heart just skip a beat?' "Ren? You okay?" Helsie said as she finished up my bandage.
I shook my head and said "Yea, is it okay if I see Lucian?" Helsie looked over at Joni and she nodded. We all headed down to the dungeon where Joni lit the torch again and held up her gun. There was no hiss this time but a "Lorenzo.." Lucian's eyes were back to normal as he looked up at me. He was reading a book while sitting and leaning against the wall with one knee up. I smiled at the supposedly back to normal Lucian and said "I see your feeling better after drinking my amazing blood" i put my hands on my hips then smirked. Lucien slightly blushed and threw an old bone at me "shut it." He got up and walked closer but still kept some distance.
"Why must it be you that my body accepts, egoistical bastard. Either way thank you." Lucian said crossing his arms tilting his head forward his hair covering his face a bit while looking at me. "Wooahh hey hey, i guess that's one way to thank me. Don't worry I already told your crew that they don't owe me anything for this." I said with a sad face putting my hands up in a slow down motion. "That's rare, you only got a soft spot for girls I see." Lucian said sitting back down in the back of his cell picking back up his book.
"Of course, pleasing women is what i do." I said while smirking again.
"Get out, if you don't need anything else from me." Lucian said looking into his book. "Aw cmon I'm just messing with you for some fun. when are you gonna get out if this cell?" I said as i grabbed the cell with my left hand. "Whenever i feel like i can control myself. So probably never. "Said Lucian as his eyes started to glow red while looking at my left bandaged arm he then looked away quickly and buried his face into the book. I took notice and said "Okay, well i guess ill leave you be." I started to walk out and helsie then Joni put her gun down followed me out.
Chapter 2
Its been a couple of days and I've been staying at the castle instead of sleeping in a cold tent. I've been going to the job sight and back and even eating at the castle. Even though my wound starting to heal faster than usual, they still want to care for me. Lucian hasn't even drank my blood since then neither talked to me.
I visited him one other time but he was in his vampire mode again. His book was torn and he was sitting with his head in his knees. He still had enough conscious to refuse to drink though. When I came back from work I heard a lot of racket down in the dungeon. Helsie and Joni was no where to be seen. I rushed to the basement door and ran down. "Lorenzo don't come down here!" Said Joni but it was to late I was already down. Joni had her stake gun aimed at Lucien and Helsie had the cross necklace held out at him. Lucian had one chain broken off the wall his free hand was on the cell trying to pry it open.
His eyes were blood red and he was panting heavily and growling. I pushed Helsie over to a safer distance and walked over to Lucian. "Lorenzo!" Helsie yelled "Its okay i got an idea." I said as i looked into Lucian's eyes, he seemed to get even more crazy now trying to grab me with his free hand. "Lucian calm down, its okay. Ill give you what you need but you need to calm down." I said in a calm tone. Hoping it works cause it works on the apex predators in the jungle. The Velociraptors. Lucian looked at me he stopped trying to grab me but he was still panting heavily and he started drooling. He clenched his teeth with a very pained look. "L…l oren…zo" he said as he grabbed his throat and hunched down.
"Lucien drink, stop fighting it. Your making it harder on yourself and others." I said as i put my other uninjured arm in. He grabbed my arm but gently this time and shakily like he is scared. Once again he licked my forearm slowly, his other hand that was still chained up was balled up in a fish and was leaking blood from him clenching so hard. He bit into my arm gently and tried to look away while drinking. I simply smiled and patted his head. I noticed he started to tear up. So i grabbed my handkerchief and wiped his eyes. I heard Helsie quietly sobbing and I handed her the handkerchief since I couldn't reach her eyes.
"Lucienn.." she said as she started bawling.
Lucian let go of my arm and went to the back of the cell yet again hiding in his knees. I looked over to Joni who was also actually tearing up. I motioned both of them to come give me a hug. They both instantly came into my arms. I gave them a good squeeze as I looked back and Lucian wishing I could hug him too.
The next day when I came back from work. It was way nicer welcome. Lucian was actually out if his cell and talking about a mission with his crew. "Well look who's out!" I said walking in with my arms out. Lucian looked at me and frowned then said" Yea yea, are you staying here or something?" I explained how the girls been taking care of me while he was in a cell and he was not happy to hear.
"I see your being spoiled while I was suffering in the dungeon." He said with a half smile he was trying to hide. My heart fluttered seeing his cute smiling face. 'Wait cute?' I thought, I shook those thoughts and said "yea you jealous?" I said as i walked closer to him. He backed away covering his nose then said "I'm still not able to fully control myself so please keep your distance.."
"Aw I wanted a hug.." I said teasingly.
Joni shook her head and placed one hand on the table. "Me and Helsie gotta do some missions so we will be gone, Ren we were hoping you could stay and watch Lucian." Joni said looking at me. Lucian crossed his arm obviously against the idea. "Sure I don't mind, you guys have been taking good care of me besides the biting half." I say as I sit down on the couch next to the table.
Joni smiled and patted Lucian's head. "We will be fine dont worry Lucien. We will be leaving tonight, Ren i will leave you the stake gun and a golden cross for protection."
She and helsie walked out to go pack. Lucian sighed and looked at me, "Ill be in the dungeon" he grabbed a book from the book shelf near by and walked to the door. I got up and grabbed his hand "Wait, you don't have to be down there 'suffering', just stay up here its fine i promise ill keep an eye on you." His eyes started to glow red and he pushed me back. "Okay i got it just watch your distance.,Please.." he said as he covered his face again looking at me with hungrily eyes. He walked away and sat in the couch, i grabbed my work from my bag and started to work on it on the big map table next to him.
A couple hours passed Joni and helsie have left for their work and it was late in the night. Lucian seemed like he was wide awake and full of energy. Though i was in fact exhausted from work in the hot sun. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a juice and came back the living room and sighed from tiredness. Took off my jacket and loosened my shirt since the girls was gone and I wanted to be more comfortable to do my work. "Shouldn't you go to bed?" Lucien said as he looked up at me. "I gotta get this shit done sadly. Been putting it off since I was busy." I said as i rubbed the back of my neck. Lucian got up and looked at my work from a distance.
"Could i help?" He asked
"Actually, if you have good hand writing could you copy these papers for me, it would help a lot." I said as i shoved a stack of papers to Lucian. He nodded and got to work grabbing a spare pen. After an hour of work Lucien looked at me and asked "did you write these yourself?" I nodded and said "yea it is my job to document new life and new findings." I grab a picture of me and my velociraptors and show it to him.
He smiled, and once again my heart skipped a beat for that beautiful smiling face. There's no denying that. "Wow i thought u were just a bum exploring random places." He said laughing a bit.
I frowned "Hey I thought we were closer than that! I guess I don't really talk about my work." I said rubbing my chin. He chuckled and went back to writing. I checked his work and of course his writing is beautiful just like his smile. 'Wait huh?' Am i falling for this guy? I look over at Lucian focused on working hard on my work. Then i pictured his crying face when he was biting me. 'No way' I thought as I felt my pants get tight. Now that i really think about it i always did think he was cute. Maybe I'm pent up.
"Ill be right back" I said to Lucien then I got up to go to my room.

No where to be seen, I panicked a bit worried that he might've escaped on a rampage. I quickly got up and looked around. Not in the dungeon or bathroom I checked every door in this massive castle. Then i finally found him in a room. he was sleeping on a big red bed and the curtains completely cut out the sun.
"Lucien?.." I said trying to see if he's okay.
He was laying there lifeless, not breathing nothing, laying on his side facing away from me. I would've panicked but i know sleeping like the dead is typical vampire behavior. I admired his sleeping face as i sat down and brushed his hair over his ear. He was sleeping coverless over top all the blankets. I look down at his body and took in the view. His jacket was off and his black shirt was lifted a bit revealing his waist. I swallowed stopping my unconscious hand that was moving to touch him.

Lucian woke up and was looking at me with red eyes. "Oh sorry was just making sure you were okay." I said as I smiled hoping he didn't catch me staring.
"I told you to keep your distance, you smell." Lucian said he then pulled me to the bed in a instant and before I could blink he was on top of me. I blushed a bit and looked away
from the staring Lucien "Umm Luci-?" before i could finish. He put his hand over my mouth and leaned in to my neck. I could hear him sniff me then start to lick my neck. 'Shit' i thought as i put my hands on his waist to pull him away from me and it was at no use it only managed to make him grind against me a little bit. I guess he doesn't want to talk about last night yet. "Yeah, ill be gone for 45 mins tops just gonna turn these in." I said grabbing the last paper. Before i walked out i turned around "will you be fine?" Lucian just wave assuring me he will be okay for at least 45 mins.
When i arrived my crew was terribly worried cause I'm never usually late. "You better not be getting it up with those girls" said Slone. I smiled and disagreed as i turned in my papers. I quickly head off before anyone could grab me. When i arrived back Joni and Helsie was back and talking to Lucian.
"Lucian we need your help for this one." Said Joni pointing at a paper on the map.
I walked in was gonna go to my room to not interrupt anything. Helsie grabbed me with a big smile mid way. Then pulled me to the couch and sat me down. Lucian was still in his small couch arguing with Joni. "We shouldn't even take this mission its way to big for us plus that man just wants us killed!" Lucian said slamming his palm on the big table nearly breaking it. "That man pays for our bills we have to do it!" Joni said angrily back. Helsie handed me a paper to show me what mission they are talking about. Guess she knows that im a curious guy and let me snoop. The paper said it was a zone where a horde of vampires was staying, Basically a vampire town. I looked up and started listening to the two again. "Fine ill go only cause you'll go without me even if i said no." Lucian said with a big sigh sitting back down.
Joni crossed her arms in victory. "We will head out tomorrow." She said looking at me and the other two.
"Lorenzo sorry for make you stay for so long, i hope you don't mind." Joni said hinting at want me to stay longer. "No its fine, i promise. Ill be stuck at this sight for another half a year." I said as i shook my head with a smile. She smiled back and walked out with Helsie. Lucian looked at me over his book and blushed then looked away. 'Still shy about it I see' I thought as i got up closer to him. "Do i still smell good?" I said as I walked behind the couch and leaned on my crossed arms on the back of the couch looking down teasingly at Lucian in his book. He looked at me shocked and angry with a even stronger blush. "Shut it!" He got up and walked to his room.
'Aw was just having some fun he is so cute.' I thought.

The next day Lucian, Joni and Helsie left for there big mission. They said they will be back in a couple day for Lucians sake, and i was tasked as house maid while staying here. I guess i could do some research on vampires while im bored.
Lorenzo smiled at us and closed the door to our castle. We all got in our car Joni is driving i always take passenger seat and Helsie in the back. "I see you two are getting along well." Joni said smiling while starting up the car. I glared at her and looked out the window leaning on my hand and elbow. Helsie hugged me from behind the seat and said "We missed you, it was so lonely on out last mission." I smiled and hugged her arms back. "Im sorry to cause you trouble." I said with a sad tone. They both lightly hit me and said "Nonsense. We love you" I smiled and said thank you.
On the way there I kept thinking about Lorenzo and about what happened the other night. Why did i do that? Was i hungry? Was it me or the vampire in me? I thought about how kind and smart Lorenzo is coming to bad situations and how carefree and teasing he is when laid back. I thought about the first time i sucked his blood and how delicious it was compared to others and how he calmed me down in my rampage. His sweet voice and smiling face, knocked me out of my instincts. The way he consoled me when i was deeply saddened about what I became. 'Am I falling for him?' I shook my head no way. I blamed my instincts for what happened that night and stopped thinking about this.
When we were getting close to the red zone we got ready. I used to wear and cross but i cant now. I got a stake shot gun in my hands and some wooden stakes in my belt. I felt a pang of pain when Helsie accidentally held the golden cross to close at me. I unconsciously hissed and dodged it. We were all shocked, i sighed and covered my face and said "be more careful Helsie"
"sorry" she said in return.
We pulled in the middle of the town it was dark and misty. It was quiet like no one was there. We got out of the car ready for battle. "Are they hiding?" Said helsie. I could sense their presence my own kind presences. "Yes there's a lot of them. " I said in response. When suddenly a whole horde of rampant vampire came out to attack us. We fought for a while to the point i ran out of ammo and stakes. Helsie and Joni were being over run. 'I knew this was a bad idea' I thought. I had no choice I dropped my weapons and managed to get out my talons. I tore through the seemingly endless amount of vampires.
"I smell a pure blood…~" said the one last vampire.
"I see you became changed how sad." He said in a twisted voice.
I couldn't make out his face from the fog and he quickly dashed away. I was gonna chase but suddenly my body stopped me. "Shit! Joni grab the stake gun!" I said to joni. She grabbed it and looked around.
"No..me!-urk!" I said crouching over fighting the urge to attack the nearby humans. She quickly aimed it at me.
I clenched my fists and suddenly in the pain if holding back my instincts Lorenzo's face popped up. I wanted him, his blood, his sweet voice. "Helsie! Get the blessed rope!" Said Joni walking closer to me. "Don't move i will shoot, you know that." Joni said tearfully as helsie tied my hands behind my back. Joni motioned me to the car and i managed to get in. Though I felt I'm at my limit and felt my conscious melting away. 'No!' was my last thought as i laid in the back seat the last thing i seen was Joni driving and helsie looking at me worried and panicked.

I've done some research on some book about vampires at work. Apparently vampires cant kill themselves they are monsters of instinct. They jump of a high cliff they will fly, they starve themselves they will go rampant. They go out in the sun their body will automatically go to shade. They can only be killed by another, By a wooden stake in the heart. There's another book written by a vampire here, it said vampires do having a bonding system. Vampires make more vampires by mixing their blood together, but if a vampire bonded with a human being the vampire bites the human being on a blood moon and shares mixes his blood with his partner. Lucian walked in wearing just his shirt and pants. He sat down on the couch next to us and pulled out his book. He looked up at us then said "what?" I guess me and Helsie were staring.
