Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about RWBY. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.

She fled into the forest of Atlas. Her 'stepmother', someone who was not even worth such a title… Laid wounded or dead back at the Glass Unicorn. She was 15, nobody should have suffered that abused. The woman heard something up in the trees which caused her to look up.

"Hmm…" The black-haired girl said to herself as the figure dropped down.

She drew the swords of her master and raised them. Her aura was broken from the last fight. The figure leapt at her, clad in a darkish blue coat and blackish pants. He was cloaked in darkness as she swung her swords at him. The figure parried it with his own weapon.

It knocked her backwards as the figure rushed forward as the girl brought up her left sword to parry it. The two swung their weapons at each other, sparks flew from their blades which lit up the space between them.

"A huntress?" The figure questioned; his voice was muffled. The girl could hear his tone was a similar age to her.

The girl seized the chance to swing forward which caused the boy to flip backwards. He landed in a crouch before flipping himself over a stab at his neck. The figure kicked at her back which caused her to fall to a knee.

The figure twirled his blade and plunged it towards her. She quickly crossed her swords which stopped the blade over the small of her back. She flicked her wrists which shifted the weapon away and used the opportunity to kick off his chest.

The figure stumbled back a few steps as the girl landed in a crouch. It was then they could see the other in the pale moonlight.

The figure had a tail which swished back and forth as he placed his weapon onto his back. His lower face was covered by a blackish scarf wrapped tightly. His white heavy boots contrasted with the grey slippers the girl wore. He brushed off the blue undershirt… A precaution against the cold which covered Solitas in snow.

The boy reached up to his hood and tugged it back. The girl was greeted to the face of a boy who was similar in age to her. His ears atop his head folded as his blue eyes focused on her.

"Your not a bandit." The figure said, his voice still muffled by the heavy scarf he wore. "And I almost killed you… Your aura is broken." The figure said as the adrenaline finally wore off them.

The girl shivered; the whipping winds threw snow at her face. The girl watched the boy approach, his tail flicked back and forth across the air. She raised her swords at him only for him to pause in front of her.

"Your freeze to death…" He stated which finally garnered a response from the girl.

"So…?" She hissed through chapped lips. "He abandoned me… The only person who was nice to me betrayed me… To them." She growled out which caused the boy to hum.

"I've been betrayed before." The boy stated as he looked up at the shattered moon of remnant. "I might not… Enjoy being around humans… But I don't like seeing them die. Let's get somewhere we aren't freezing to death." He said and started to move.

The girl looked at him as he pulled up his hood. He turned to her, waiting for her to follow. The woman was torn between leaving and staying.

Nobody had given her any pity when she had suffered. They were selfish, obsessed only with using their positions and lien to achieve a position of hedonism. The boy looked as curious as she was bitter. She wondered if she could trust anyone but herself in this world.

He didn't move till she did. He gestured her along and turned to her.

"I'm Cylas… But everyone calls me Cye." He stated as he watched the girl's amber eyes narrow and widen for a moment. He said nothing and poked a nearby tree with his tail, awaiting her response.

"Cinder." She said after a few moments.

Cye nodded and led her towards the camp he wished to set up. He didn't know the adventures they'd have with each other.

Author notes

Phew. First chapter done! I wanted to make this story, but didn't know about making it until now. This story is set in an alternate world. Next chapter will be in 2-12 weeks and will show Cye and Cinder talking, set up Cye's past and set up Cye and Cinder's bonding and partnership. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
