"A letter came for you, Princess."

Peach blinked.

"Surely it isn't time for the next tournament, is it?" She asked. Her mind reflected back on the last big Brawl that the Super Smash Brothers had organized. Although a solid competitor in her own right, Peach had been knocked out fairly early that time. It certainly didn't feel all that long ago…

"I'm not sure." The Toad said, as he brandished the bright pink envelope in front of him. "But it doesn't have the seal on it, so…"

"Who would be writing me now?" Peach asked idly, as she took it from him. She was very close to the Super Mario Brothers, but they lived down the road. If they wanted to see her, they would come by and visit. Princess Daisy wrote her occasionally, but the bright pink envelope was not to her taste. And although she was good friends with Princess Zelda and the other Super Smash Brothers, they had better methods of communications then through the post. She had never received any letters from other universes unless it was a direct invitation to the Super Smash Brothers Tournament. It was best, all agreed, that they keep contact with one another to a bare minimum.

She took the letter in her hand and glanced at it. She was immediately taken in by the rather beautiful handwriting that etched neatly into the corner of the page. She tenderly took the envelope in her hands and cracked it open.

She took the letter out and looked at it. She read it carefully, her eyes taking in every word.

"How odd." She said, when she finished. "I've been invited to the Disney Princess Gala… this must be some sort of mistake."

"Disney Princess?" Toad repeated. "What's that?"

"I'm not sure." Peach said, her voice slow. "But it must be a multiversal thing… like the Smash Brothers tournament." Her eyes fell on the trinity of circles emblazoned on the top of the envelope, where the Smash Logo would normally have been. She wasn't sure why, but seeing it made her heart fill with dread.

"Are you going to RSVP?" Toad asked.

"I very may well have no choice." Peach said heavily. "If I was invited to this event, I daresay it must be a matter of some importance. If it's anything like the Smash Brothers Tournament, I very may well be forced to attend. This potentially could be a situation like the SubSpace Wars or the battle between Light and Dark… there is no reason to ignore it. Please let them know that I accept."

Peach turned to the window as the Toad scampered away, letter in hand, and stared out over the horizon.

"I hope I'm not getting in over my head on this one…" She said, her voice quiet.

Alice took a long drag out of her cigarette.

"A billion dollars at the box office?" She repeated, outraged. "Her?"

She blew out a long ring of smoke out at her compatriot, Princess Jasmine, shot her a dirty look.

"That's rich, coming from someone who isn't a real Princess."

"I'm a Princess in my mind, sweetie." Alice said.

"In your schizophrenic imagination, maybe." The other girl said snidely. Alice took the cigarette and flicked it into Jasmine's nearby bowl of grapes.

"Why you-"

Jasmine got to her feet and reached for her neck, as if to strangle her, but Alice drew a long dangerous looking butcher knife and pointed it at her.

"Get away from me, or I swear on the name of American McGee I WILL cut you up."

Jasmine shot her an icy glare, and had half a mind to call for her pet tiger.

"That will be enough of that, girls." A calm, almost musical voice said from behind them. They turned to see Princess Aurora, the Sleeping Beauty herself, standing in the doorway.

"Look who got out of bed." Alice said snidely, as she adjusted herself in her seat. "Who kissed you today? A horse?"

"It was Cinderella." Aurora said, without shame. "You could certainly learn a thing or two from her, Alice…"

She squirmed.

"I'm not that bad of a kisser." She whined. "Am I?"

"What are you doing here, Aurora?" Jasmine asked, as she reached for a grape in her bowl, carefully avoiding the cigarette.

"We just received a RSVP from Princess Peach."

"Seriously?"

Alice shook her head, smirking.

"That useless whore?" She asked, sounding amused. "The one who wants to get kidnapped every weekend?"

"That's the one."

"God." Alice said again. "She and Belle will get along FAMOUSLY."

"Please don't be so rude to her face." Aurora said. "We don't want to drive her off."

"You mean the boss doesn't want to drive her off." Alice said.

"Enough." Aurora's voice was surprisingly sharp. "You will behave yourself. That goes for you as well, Jasmine."

She turned and left the room, her long sweeping blonde hair falling behind her.

"She's not one of us." Alice said immediately. "What's the big deal?"

"The boss thinks she might be a threat to our brand." Jasmine said. "A billion dollars at the box office, remember?"

"That's nothing. Elsa made more than that."

"Elsa couldn't replicate her success." Jasmine said, her voice grim. "None of us could."

Alice yawned. "Neither will she."

Jasmine fell silent.

"They think…" She said slowly. "She'll be even bigger next time."

Alice blinked at her, and then laughed.

"And you call me schizophrenic." She said. "I didn't sell my soul to the House of Mouse to lose out to a nobody Princess from a video game franchise."

Jasmine cast a sign out of the window. The statue of Walt Disney walking hand in hand with Mickey Mouse looked somehow degenerated, as if it were about to fall apart.

"Is she the nobody….?" Jasmine wondered. "Or are we?"

"I'm not sure how long I'll be gone." Peach confessed, as she poured a cup of tea for her guest.

Mario took the cup and held it in front of him, without drinking from it.

"Are you certain about this?" He asked. "We don't know anything about these people."

"I am sure." Peach said, her voice heavy. "This event… I fell called to attend it."

'By the Hand?" Mario pressed her, gently.

"Yes." Peach admitted.

"By yourself?"

"I am not sure. I think so. You have not felt a call to action?"

Mario shook his head.

"Luigi and I have felt nothing."

"How odd." Peach said. "I suppose… this is something only I can do."

"Don't be ridiculous." Mario said. "I'll be there for you, no matter what."

Peach smiled warmly at him.

"I know you will." She said affectionately. "But I think I must go alone."

Mario sipped his tea, looking thoughtful.

"I'm worried about you." He said. "It's never a good thing to go on an adventure by yourself."

"I know." Peach said, her voice heavy. "But it must be done."

They bid their good-byes and Mario made his way home. She watched him go from the balcony outside her window, her heart heavy. She would never have rebuked him if she didn't feel it absolutely necessary to go on this journey alone.

"Funny little guy, isn't he?"

Peach jumped. She turned to see a boy in green grinning down at her wildly. Her first wild thought that it must be Link. The distinctive green outfit was what first caught her eye. But the second she saw his red hair she felt her resolve waver.

"Who are…?"

"Peter Pan." He said promptly, as he took off his hat and bowed. "An agent of the Walt Disney Corporation. I see that you're preparing to leave for the Gala."

Peach considered him. "I agreed to attend your event." She said. "But I must confess I don't quite understand your motives. Who are you, and what do you expect from me?"

"All will be answered once we arrive." Peter Pan said promptly, as he held out his hand to her.

Peach stared at him, and stepped up on the side of the balcony beside him. She took his hand, and they took off into the sky.

She had left the planet before, of course, during her sojourns through entire galaxies, but as they rose she felt a strange pull at her. The sky around them warped and shifted, and she felt herself being pulled into another universe.

"Please hold on tight." Peter Pan warned her. "I don't want to lose you."

Peach nodded, clutching his hand tighter, as the energy around them swirled. It came to a stop.

They were floating high above what seemed to be a kind of amusement part. Zoos, rides, theaters, and streets ran along in different directions. In the center of this vast estate was a magnificent castle.

"Welcome." Peter said. "To Disney."

They touched right in front of the Castle, and Peach took a minute to collect her bearings.

"What a lovely place." She said. "I own many castles, but none in a park as magnificent as this." She had not been to an amusement park since she, Mario, Luigi, and Toad had defeated Bowser in the land of the Sprixies.

"No Castle in all of existence is as magnificent as this. Peter said, smiling widely.

Peach wasn't sure about that (She had seen some truly impressive castles during her adventures) but she felt no inclination to point this out to her host. She admitted the castle for what it was. A pleasant distraction from her everyday life.

The drawbridge to the castle lowered, and Peach's gaze was fixed squarely on it. A small entourage of people came through it. It was a girl, black haired and fair, followed by seven small men.

"Princess Peach." The girl said, holding her arms wide. "Welcome… to Disney."

"A pleasure." Peach answered formally. "To whom am I addressing?"

"I am Snow White. One of the Seven Princesses who currently reside in this castle." She responded. "I must say, I am pleased that you chose to accept our invitation. We feared that you may be wary of visiting on such short notice."

"There was some concern among those close to me, but I saw no reason to be concerned." Peach answered. "I enjoy meeting new people."

Snow White smiled softly at her.

"Doubtless you are wondering just what this place is." She said. "This is the Land of Disney… where dreams are made real."

She threw her hands around, emphasizing the park around them.

"Interesting idea, to build a theme park around a Castle." Peach said. "I imagine your people see it as a national landmark."

Peter Pan laughed. Snow White gave him a look, and he fell silent.

"Our Castle is perhaps more famous than you are aware, Princess." Snow White said. "It is known to many worlds…. Have you truly never heard of it?"

"No, never."

Snow White clicked her tongue.

"What a shame." She said. "But I suppose this is why you have been brought here… to see this castle in all of its glory."

"It's very nice." Peach said diplomatically. "I particularly like the soft colors…. It really suits the park quite well. But I think you are quite anxious to show me the interior?"

"You think correctly." Snow White said. "Come. I will show you to your quarters, give you a tour, and we shall have dinner."

One of the Little men at her feet trotted up and offered her his arm. She giggled and accepted it, bending downward, as she was led into the light blue castle.

The door slammed shut behind them.

A/N

I liked Peach so much in the Mario Movie I decided it was time to give her the spotlight in her very own story. Obviously the best antagonist for the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom are Princesses of the Disney Kingdom. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but it's surreal to finally see the story take shape.

I hope you all enjoy.
