Tanis Pov.

"This was the worst part of my life"
"You think so you mad scientist?!"

Tanis was repeating these words in her mind all the way out of the house, her walking support was doing it's job right. She just needed to force her big arm to pull more than what her skinny arm could.

Once she was out she still didn't think she needed to sit yet, so she did a little walk trying to think at other stuff.

Like how she could finally feel her hairs and not some bandages on her head, how she could touch everything again and people see her face and not a corpse hidden by toilet paper. But then she also thought at how she was a punch in the eyes for everyone.

How not even a mother could love her.

How not even her friends could look at her eyes for more than 3 seconds before feeling nausea.

How her clubfoot was hurting like hell.

But then she tried to think at how Elsa was going to fix it, she is always going to fix what someone else broke.
Yeah, we once had some goblins from Goblin Town invading our house and we managed to fix the damage before Miss Grimwood arrived, if there is someone that can fix paranormal with scientific method it's her.

But also…it was her fault they were in this mistake.

Tanis was trying to not blame Elsa for what happened, maybe everyone with that gem could have ended up turning her besties into the thing they hated the most?

Maybe? Maybe not too.

The exmummy was considering how Elsa realized the mistake she did, sure it would have been better if it never happened, but at least she is working on it.

But even then, she feels that the scientist needed to be scolded more, like just calling her a mad scientist and raising her voice didn't seem much right?
"Oh dear I'm becoming mean or something?" Tanis was muttering under her breath.

For all these years with her friends Tanis was always selfless, she never felt she had more that what she needed and was always to give a hand or 4 to others.

But now she was thinking that Elsa deserved a punishment, was she becoming selfish?
"I have always helped everyone in my non-life, I don't think being selfish for someone fucking up my life is getting my heart weighting more than a feather, perhaps it's just being honest to the sins of others instead of ignoring them". She was thinking at high intensity.

Then her eyes spotted something, a bench. Now she can rest her weird proportions after a walk of who knows how much long.

She sits and the bench looked like was going to break, it didn't but this made Tanis realize she wasn't going anywhere after putting this bench on almost death sentence.

"This was the worst part of my life" She kept thinking and repeating.

And in a cloudy flash she wasn't a living body horror, just a little girl with an overbite that played water games with her friends in the Nile, life wasn't so bad. Her clubfoot wasn't that life crushing yet, her face had an awkward cute feel, she was like a camel baby, not beautiful by any metric but still seemed like it was normal and could grow up into a majestic creature one day.

At the time she considered herself like a caterpillar that waited the day to become a butterfly, she was physically different by the other kids but her parents assured her that makeup and gold jewels would have gave her more royal fascination than what any girl could hope to look like.

If only the little Tanis knew if she lived to see puberty it wouldn't have started and ended with her becoming a butterfly, instead was going to be her turning into a freak show of visually unappealing deformities.

Her mother was wrong, in the long run makeup and being noble doesn't make her feel personally more beautiful, maybe at the time of her family dynasty it meant something but now, hundreds of years later it just feels like a fake promise.

Being royalty doesn't change how her jaws are hurting.

Wearing makeup doesn't hide her lopsided brown and gray eyes and mange on her head.

The ponytail in the style of Egyptian kids' side tails doesn't make her face less repulsing to the eyes.

She wonders if her mother could even love her now.

Or her father…

Meh, with all the inbreeding my family came from she could be surprised if they would find it ugly or something.

Her father was her brother, her mother was her grandma, before going out and meeting peasant kids she was sure it was normal.
After all maybe this is what she is right now, the son of her parents, without sugar coated bandages that hide it, she is simply what the nightmarish incest going on with her blood relatives created and really believed could have been pharaoh one day.

The she stopped herself and screamed without bothering what her jaw tried to hurt her with

"Enough! I have been nice all my life, I can be selfish! I'm still Tanis the Pharaoh princess!" she was waving her hands with strength and fierceness; her distant eyes were burning with her passion for the new found life.

Now she was there, still living, still kicking.
She was still a princess, a royal without throne and kingdom, but why would that matter? Her birthright goes past the lands and earth, she is a daughter of the sun, the blood of Ra is inside her veins.

She was sure of it.

A mortal body couldn't hold the incredible and divine power that was her soul, so it morphed into a monstrous appearance as couldn't grasp it's superiority over the mortals.

Yeah, it feels good being selfish for once.

"Anubis won't hold this on me, being related to Ra can give me some VIP pass to the heaven where I'll simply chill in the hot milk like Cleoptra would have wanted all Kemet royals to."

So, she was now walking, despite the pain, despite her clubfoot, despite her swollen legs being slow, she was so determined she was going to do everything she could, and the world could just get ready to feel it.

And then she saw him, one of the Calloway kids, apparently her walk was gone for so long she pulled herself up for some good run in the near institute.
Then she went and clapped her hands like a snob daddy's girl.

The kid jumped for the surprise and had no idea what was going on.
And then he saw this goblin like creature with a face that would have made a married couple refuse to have children.

He was in likely shock and denial "No this thing isn't real" he was thinking, but then realized what 2 plus 2 means and saw it as one of the Grimwood cosplaying girls pulling a prank with some prosthetics and makeup, Halloween was close so why not.

After Tanis noticed his attention was on her she put her head up and said:

"Hey you, I need a slave, and you have the honor to have been chosen by me to be. Consider yourself lucky!"
