All right, it's been over at least three years, but now, I think it's time to wrap up this Scooby Doo story once and for all! It's been a ride and a half, but all in all, the writing was totally worth it. And now, we're about to reach our exciting conclusion! Let's see how past and future coincide with each other one last time! Anyway, enjoy!

EIGHT YEARS AGO...

It had been a pretty good evening for both Daphne and Shaggy as the two of them were hanging around at Shaggy's house. After enjoying a nice homemade meal of cooked ham and brisket topped in barbecue sauce, with a side of potatoes and peas (in which Daphne admired the trouble Shaggy's mother went into cooking this lovely dish... even liking it as well... Shaggy made a mental note to remember the recipe, though, at the time, he had no idea why...), both Shaggy and Daphne were getting comfortable in Shaggy's room as they, along with Scooby, were looking over a few Commander Cool comics, helping Daphne for preparing for their next outing as Commander Cool, Mellow Mutt and Gorgeous Gal. And although Daphne still hadn't quite got the hang of the idea, she was slowly starting to understand a few terms of the comics and how Gorgeous Gal would always act. Still, for her first attempt, she didn't do quite so badly.

After reading a few comics and playing a couple of board games (with Daphne DOMINATING at Monopoly, much to Scooby and Shaggy's surprise), they ended their nice little day with a small movie marathon, mostly of corny scary B pictures (Daphne playfully hugging Shaggy during the 'scary' parts, though whether it was intentional or not, none of them wanted to say). As soon as they got the final movie done, Scooby had decided to turn in for the night as the young pup nodded.

"Rood right, Raggy, Raphne. Ree rou romorrow." Scooby yawned as he waved to the two.

"Good night, Scooby." Daphne smiled as she leaned over and scratched behind his ears a bit. "And thanks for letting me help out on the case. You're a true companion."

"Awww, rucks." Scooby blushed a bit, before licking her face, causing Daphne to giggle.

"You take it easy, Scoob." Shaggy smiled as he nodded to his friend. "I think after today, we all need a bit of rest."

"Ruh huh." Scooby grinned before stretching his legs a bit, yawning. After bading his friends goodnight once more, the pup took his leave, leaving Shaggy and Daphne all alone in the room.

Daphne gave a slight yawn as she got up. "Well, I think I better dress up for bed myself. I'll be right back..."

"Like, by all means, I think I'll change in here..." Shaggy nodded as he watched Daphne walk out the door. As soon as he was sure Daphne was out, the young boy quickly slipped out of his green shirt and jeans, and put on his green pajama shirt and light thin green pajama pants, before putting on green socks. As he finally put the socks on, he heard footsteps as Shaggy looked up, his mouth dropping in near awe.

Granted, he had seen Daphne wearing her pajamas before, but it was the first time he felt a little... hot under the collar when he examined Daphne's sleep wear, which was a pink designer robe, tied with a pink sash and white slippers. The young girl quickly posed a bit as she noted Shaggy looking over at her in interest.

She giggled. "So, Shaggy... you like what you see?"

"Like, zoinks." Shaggy said with a lopsided grin. "You've always looked fashionable, Daphne, but tonight, something about you radiates... charm."

Daphne smiled a bit as she giggled before rushing over and hugging Shaggy, pulling him close. "You don't look half bad yourself."

Young Shaggy blushed a bit as Young Daphne still had him in an embrace... at this point, the young man was wondering if this was what it was like to be alone with a girl at night...

EIGHT YEARS LATER...

After being filled up with breakfast and paying the bill, Shaggy, Scooby and Daphne were both a little tired as they arrived at Daphne's mansion and walked out of the car, heading towards the entrance.

"I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a little bushed." Daphne said as she gave a yawn.

"Like, I'm pretty much the same." Shaggy said. "Thanks again for letting us stay at the mansion tonight."

"You're welcome." Daphne said, still letting out a small yawn. "I know it would be exhausting to just drive you guys back to your place, then drive back to the Blake mansion, so I figured, we may as well take a long rest here. Besides, my parents don't mind..."

"Ronridering rhey rike us." Scooby nodded, his eyes drooping a bit. He yawned as he spotted the nearby doggie bed that was always prepared for Scooby whenever he and the others came to stay for the night. Scooby looked over and nodded as he walked over to the bed, hopped on and slumped over, his eyes letting him sleep into dreamland.

Shaggy and Daphne, though tired, gave light chuckles as Shaggy said, "I don't blame Scooby. After a long night of solving mysteries and eating... it'll be good to veg away... hey, Daph, I don't suppose..."

Daphne yawned a bit as she led the boy upstairs. "Don't worry, I still have the spare change of clothes and sleepwear in the event that one of us had to stay."

Shaggy gave a small bout of laughter. "Like, you truly think of us, my red haired angel..."

The red haired girl smiled as she turned to Shaggy and lightly kissed his cheek. "I always do, my stubbly, lanky speedster..."

Shaggy chuckled a bit at the attempt of a nickname as Daphne lightly pushed him. "Hey, come on, Shag, I'm tired. I'm still trying to think up a decent nickname since we're officially together..."

The green shirt wearing man laughed a bit, before slowing himself as his eyes widened, momentarily forgetting his sleep exhaustion. He had almost forgotten that Daphne and he were officially an item... and a small smile crept into his face, showing a rather pleased look. Sure, he knew that things were going to change a lot, and he knew that he owed Fred and Velma an explanation when they got back from their trips, but all in all, it didn't matter in the long run. Shaggy and Daphne were going out together as an official dating couple. Still, giving a smile, they continued upwards...

A few moments later, though it was still early hours of the morning, both Shaggy and Daphne were dressed in pajamas as Daphne was sitting on the foot of her bed. The young woman was wearing a dark purple night top and a pink, frilly night gown bottom half. As for Shaggy, he was wearing a light green pajama shirt with a collar and light green pajama pants. Daphne smiled as she looked up at Shaggy, who was looking down at her with a small smile.

"Like, what a night, huh?" Shaggy laughed a bit.

"Yeah, that mystery sure was a fun one to solve... and I'm glad that Sir Reginald got put in jail... for good, this time." Daphne said as she gave a sigh of relief.

Shaggy paused for a brief moment as he put his arm around Daphne. "You know, I've been thinking... about our past selves..."

"Yeah, I was thinking about them too..." Daphne said. "How do you suppose they reacted when they stepped into a part of a mystery that they didn't understand?"

Shaggy paused. "Hmmm... well, from what I remember of the past... going into the future... which is the present... which..." The young man held his head and groaned. "Ugh, my head hurts thinking about the mechanics of time travel..."

Daphne gave a tired, but happy giggle as she put her arm around her boyfriend, calming him down as he continued, "Well, like, anyway, I remember that it felt unusual being teleported, but I remembered just having fun with you."

"Awww, you're a sweetie." Daphne giggled, before pausing. "Well, I had to admit it was unusual to go to the future... and it's a shame we never got to meet up with our past selves proper..."

"Probably for the best. Like, my head already hurts from the time travel shenanigans, I don't need a past self to make these theories thump my head harder." Shaggy said... before pausing. "But you know, if I were to meet myself eight years ago, I'd tell him that... you have a great group of friends... including your pup and the cutest female to ever grace your presence."

Daphne paused before giving a brief smile. "Awww, you mean me?"

"Well, he'd probably say Velma first..." The young man said, causing Daphne to glare at him for a moment. "But then he'll understand what I mean when I tell him your pretty features."

"Awwww..." Daphne softened as she hugged her boyfriend. "Shaggy, have I ever told you you were the sweetest man that I have ever hung out with?"

"...maybe a few times." Shaggy smiled as he hugged his girlfriend right back.

"Well, you are." Daphne whispered as they looked into each other's eyes... and laid a kiss between the two before both of them collapsed on the bed, as they were still holding each other, having a brief make out...

EIGHT YEARS AGO...

Pretty soon, the young girl let go of her crush as she gave a giggle. "Well, I think we really should be getting to bed. It's starting to get late..."

"That's a... pretty good idea." Shaggy nodded as he went over to his bed. "You know, Daph, we're going to have a LOT to tell Velma and Fred when they recover from their colds..."

Daphne giggled. "I think Freddie would be VERY disappointed to find out we had to solve a mystery on our own... but I'm sure he'll understand."

"And Velma, I hope, will be pretty excited to learn about how we solved this without a lot of her help..." Shaggy said... before pausing. "Although... are you comfortable with telling them that you... opened up a bit on fun? Because I know that they know you as the snobby fashionista..."

"Shaggy..." Daphne smiled as she walked over to Shaggy and put her hand on his shoulder. "I know that I say that there are no such things as ghosts and monsters, and I know I try to act all... 'grown up' around you... but I only do that because I care for all of you. But... I guess that maybe I was growing up too fast." She looked down at her slippers. "I mean, yes, I'm glad I'm able to pull you guys back into reality once in a while, but... I'm still a kid, after all. And a kid should be allowed to have fun. And... I thank getting into Commander Cool and Gorgeous Gal for that... and most of all, I thank you."

"For what?" Shaggy asked in confusion.

Daphne giggled as she kissed his cheek, making him blush. "I thank you, Shaggy, for helping me get in touch with my kid side once again... even if it was unintentional... I still had fun with you..."

Shaggy gave a small smile. "You're welcome, Daph..."

The two looked at each other for a few moments, locking eyes with each other as cartoony hearts floated around the two, blushes showing on their faces. After a brief moment, Daphne coughed a bit as she said, "Uh, I forgot my sleeping bag. I probably could ask Jenkins to get it right away, but... I was wondering if I could... uh... share your bed... just for tonight?"

Shaggy's eyes widened in surprise as he blushed. "Uh, like, are you sure you want that? I mean, it would... it could..."

The young boy took a moment to think about what Daphne had offered, weighing the pros and cons of it, but the look on Daphne's eyes told him that she really wanted to sleep in the same bed with him, a natural curiosity hidden behind those eyes. Shaggy contemplated the thought, before giving a nod. "I suppose just for tonight wouldn't hurt..."

Daphne giggled as she smiled. "Thank you, Shaggy."

With that, as Shaggy crawled into bed and crawled to the left side, the young girl quickly followed suit as she lifted the corner of the blanket and crawled into bed before tucking herself in gently. As soon as both were satisfied in their position on the bed, Shaggy quickly turned out the lamp light that was lighting up the room, leaving the room in a quiet blanket of darkness.

"Comfortable?" Shaggy asked as he turned to his friend.

Daphne smiled as she turned to her bedmate. "Now I am..."

Shaggy gave a small smile, before pausing. "Of course, we... uh... can't make this a habit..."

Daphne chuckled nervously as she started to blush. "Oh no, obviously not... I mean, what would our friends think?"

"It's just for the one night." Shaggy pointed out, though the way he said the words, he wasn't quite so sure about that.

"Of course, of course, the one night..." Daphne giggled as silence fell over the room once more... before Daphne pulled Shaggy over in her arms and snuggled against his body.

"Uh, what are you doing?" Shaggy asked in confusion.

"Cuddling... if you're okay with that... if not, I can..." Daphne said.

"No, no... it's fine." Shaggy smiled as he put his arms around hers. "Well, tomorrow's another day... let's try to get some rest, hm?"

Daphne smiled as she sleepily snuggled on Shaggy's chest. "I'd like that."

Shaggy looked over at his young friend as he felt his heart beating faster. "Like, good night, my fair princess..."

"Good night, sweet prince..." Daphne yawned as sleep finally overcame the two, both of them being in each other's arms as the moon shined bright in the sky...

EIGHT YEARS LATER...

After that make out session, Shaggy and Daphne were snuggling together on Daphne's bed as Daphne rubbed her head against his chest. "You know, I forgot how snuggly you were..."

Shaggy chuckled as he kept his arms around his girlfriend and rubbed her back. "I can say the same for you, Daphne..."

Daphne giggled as she looked up at the ceiling, before turning to her boyfriend. "You know, it's funny... our first time together as an official couple in bed... especially after all the times we shared the same bed whenever we were alone..."

Shaggy laughed a bit as he looked at his girl's eyes. "I guess after all these years, I liked having you next to me at all times..."

"Always keeping each other safe, because we both knew that things were going to be okay..." Daphne smiled as she looked over at the sunrise... before reaching her hand to close the curtain. "Let's just get some Zs, then we can get some lunch in the mid afternoon. Does that sound good?"

"Yeah, like... I could use a snooze after all that went down... have a good sleep, my sweet princess..."

Daphne giggled as she kissed Shaggy on the lips, letting sleep overcome the two as she sleepily said, "Good night, fair prince..."

And as in the past before them, both Shaggy and Daphne snuggled against each other as they slept together, whether it be in Shaggy's bed, Daphne's bed or any bed they slept in whenever they were alone together... in some way or another, their destiny was intertwined, with all thanks to the support of themselves and their friends, including Scooby Doo of the future, and the past, of a pup named...

EIGHT YEARS AGO...

"SCOOBY DOOBY DOOOOOOO!" The young Scooby shouted from inside his dog house, before pausing for a brief moment, wondering why he shouted his own name out loud. Maybe it was because he hadn't said it when he solved the mystery, or maybe it was an instinctual urge.

But either way, the dog yawned as he decided to get some sleep, for tomorrow... he was going to have a lot more fun with his friends... but not before opening an eye and looking over towards the picture of his friends at the Scooby Doo Detective Agency.

After thinking for a brief moment, he pulled out a red marker and drew a heart surrounding both his young friends Shaggy and Daphne. He didn't know why, but he had a strange feeling that Daphne would be a bigger part of his life than just being part of the Mystery gang... and Scooby was looking forward to it... he couldn't help but wonder what Daphne and Shaggy would do next...

For now, though... a case was closed, and the dog decided to take his rest... until tomorrow.

Orange Ratchet Story

"That's All, Folks!"

An Orange-Ratchet Fanfiction

Finally, after so long, this story is finally complete! How did you guys like it? And now, for my final thoughts!

When I first started on this story, I wanted to see what would happen if I did a story focusing on two mysteries that somehow interconnected with each other... and I knew Scooby Doo would be perfect for that sort of story. Plus, I wanted to write a Shaphne story at the same time, so I got the best of both worlds... writing a romance story featuring one of my OTPs, and also writing a mystery story. Plus, I don't think anybody has wrote a fic where the Pup versions of Daphne and Shaggy got together as a couple, and I wanted to see if I could be the first to try that. Granted, I know there were pairing stories with Shaphne before, but all the pairings were when they were teenagers or young adults. I wanted to see if I can start the romance in the Pup Named Scooby Doo timeline, and... in a way, I think it works. Hopefully, I inspired a few people to try APNSD!Shaggy x APNSD!Daphne fanfics.

As for why I suddenly stopped writing in the middle of 2020 and then picked back up a couple years later... well, I was so focused on my other big story project on Archive of our Own (Tournament of Kikai, for those unaware of what I was doing), I had to put this on pause. There were a couple times where I tried to get back to it, but either I couldn't get right back into it, or I forgot the important aspect of the mystery, but I was a little too thrown off. Fortunately, after I did a little rereading of my own story, I knew exactly what to do and got back on track afterwards. It wasn't easy to do so, but I did it.

But yeah, I had a lot of fun with this mystery story and writing for Shaphne, both the past and future versions. Will I do so again? Well, maybe I'll just focus more on Shaphne for a little while. As for mystery stories... ehhh, well, we'll see. I know the main aspect of Scooby Doo is the mystery solving and all that, but I think focusing on the romance for Shaggy and Daphne in different timelines is sort of more my brand...

That said, do you want to see more A Pup Named Scooby Doo stories where Young Shaggy and Young Daphne have a small romance together? How about other timelines, do you want me to write about Shaggy and Daphne getting together, whether it be Mystery Incorporated or 13 Ghosts... any variations? I'm open to writing for more of the pairing!

All in all, I had a lot of fun writing for this story, and for those who might have some ideas for Shaphne stories, feel free to send a PM! And for those who have been silently keeping up with the stories, thank you for all the reviews... granted, I know things slowed down in the reviews department by the time I picked this story back up, but I'm glad I was able to write this story down once and for all, and I hope this final product satisfied all of you! Anyway, thank you all for reading, and have a very wonderful day!
