Grandmaster Kuai Liang was overseeing the combat training as both Master Roshi and Colonel Rhodes, as he wore his War Machine armor, for today's students which consisted of Kung Jin, Marcus, Amber, Scott, Takeda, and Vee. However, there was some degree of worry as Sub-Zero observed the sparring between Amber and Vee. He has heard some of the histories of Amber and her father regarding their connection to one of SHIELD's best agents. Sonya Blade was investigating Luz Noceda while she was very young and it helped that her daughter had a friendship with Luz. Director Fury was concerned that due to Luz being unaware of her Saiyan biology, the young girl could unintentionally become extremely dangerous. Unfortunately, the Director's hunch was correct. From what Kuai Liang knew, Johnny Cage's ego led to Sonya's death. During filming for one of his movies, one of the mentally unstable enhanced individuals among SHIELD's Index for people who had superpowers in one way or another. Taking advantage of an attack from Maxwell Dillon, under the alias Electro, Johnny Cage used the attack for his movie. Changing the name to Shocker for the film, yet the reporter J Jonah Jameson from The Daily Bulge scolded Johnny Cage for using this attack to help improve his popularity among his fans. This heavily wounded Johnny's acting career, but it also made things worse for Luz. As Johnny came to visit Sonya and his daughter, a group of angry individuals began to attack the actor, his family, and anyone present at the time. Due to the out-of-control mob, Luz was badly hurt as it caused her Saiyan Powers to manifest, and began to get overwhelmed by her new powers to the point that she unintentionally cause a massive surge of energy that not only lead to many being crippled. It also took Sonya Blade's life as she tried to calm Luz during the awakening of her powers.
Thankfully with the help of Director Fury, Johnny Cage, Camila Noceda, and Master Roshi. Luz was able to avoid facing any serious legal charges and other negative repercussions with the public as they all agreed this was an accident. Allowing Luz to study under Master Roshi to master her new powers and try to live a somewhat normal life. Despite all of this, the Cyro Inhuman could tell that Amber ultimately blamed Luz for the death of her mother. It even surfaced during the sparring match between Amber and Vee.
"Amber Cage." Announced Kuai Liang to grab her attention to her surprise as the teenager turned to Sub-Zero, "Please come with me for a private training session." The Grandmaster ordered as Amber followed behind with a nervous gulp as Vee attempted to catch her breath due to how aggressive Amber was against her.
With this, the current lesson ceased as everyone was confused by what had transpired. "Glad that he came in when he did..." The basilisk said aloud with a relieved sigh. "She was getting a bit too much for me." She finished off as Marcus helped Vee onto her feet.
"Have any idea what's her problem?" Questioned Marcus as he tried to explain to Venom within his mind why he could not eat Amber.
Vee nodded in response before explaining, "It has to be due to the history between her and Luz. I am not sure exactly why I have been gaining Luz's memories... But it may have to do with the experiments that Shang Tsung did when he created me and Quatre." This information was quite a surprise as Marcus looked at Vee.
"Created?" He simply asked with stunned confusion written over his face.
"Yes... From what I and my brother had uncovered, Shang Tsung was tasked by Belos to revive a group of Basilisk for some kind of spell as well as to help evolve some ultimate weapon. That was the bug thing that attacked me when I got separated from my twin and ended up here..." Vee explained as she stretched a bit to loosen some of the tension in her body. "Why would the same one responsible for destroying the majority of Basilisks have someone to bring them back? It doesn't make sense!" Vee announced aloud in confusion.
"What are the abilities of a Basilisk normally?" Question Colonel Rhodes as he landed next to the two. "As a soldier and now superhero, I can say that this Belos guy wanted to have a broader control of Basilisks because there is something about your race he wants to study." He explained as Roshi thought this over while stroking his beard. With this, the current lesson was placed on hold as Vee was a bit confused by this.
"Well... We can't exactly do much. Yet we can shapeshift, heal quickly, and siphon energy from others." The Basilisk replied with little understanding regarding the importance of her natural abilities.
Takeda and Scott were shocked to hear this detail about Basilisks. "Wait... You're saying that you could drain someone dry of their life force?" Scott questioned with clear concern regarding this.
"We only do it since we feed on Magic as our natural food source. Sure it does scare most Witches, Demons, and Saiyans on Argenta, but it takes a lot for a Basilisk to actually kill someone with this power." Vee announced with worry that they would fear for this power, but that is when it clicked for Vee. "Are you... Suggestioning that Belos is trying to weaponize this? Why would want to do that? He is the current Emperor of Argenta. What would he have to gain with that?" Vee pondered aloud with genuine fear about the intentions of Belos.
"Knowing Luz, I can see why he wants to apply this. Her Saiyan biology is extraordinary and her Chi Reserves are massive. Even if she can't access the majority of what she could be truly capable of. The power to drain the energy of your opponent against a being like that is no laughing matter." Roshi added on to this detail.
"I can imagine that both Witches and Demons have similar levels of reserves with Magic instead of Chi." Takeda announced as he thought this over as well, "SHIELD has been keeping tabs on a duo that tends to come from Argenta on occasion. One of them is a Saiyan while the other is a Witch. She has a large reserve of Magical Power that is somewhat comparable to the Saiyan seen with her." He stated as the information hung in the air for everyone to digest.
"This sounds similar to why that Straxus guy was researching Klyntars... We can do something similar, but we have to be an evolved White Klyntar for that..." Venom told Marcus in his mind. It was clear that both Straxus and Belos had greater ambitions than what was known. Yet, what these ambitions were remained unknown yet grew a sense of worry for what would happen when they were achieved in the end.
