'Look at my little baby! He's going to be a great scholar one day!' Said a voice.

'What's a scholar, is it a fighting move?' Said another.

'No Goku, scholar's make money! Martial Artists only know how to fight!'

'Come on Chi-Chi..'

'Why don't you let the kid chose for himself?' Said a more familiar voice.

'You don't get a say in this Zack!'

"Dad... Mum?" Gohan thought as he began to stir.

"Oh it moved!" Said another voice.'

'I have a better idea.. why don't we just take everything he loves from him...'

'NOOO!'

Opening his eyes suddenly. Gohan stared at the hole in the roof.

"Wh...where am I?" Gohan said as he slowly sat up, assisted by a young woman with brown hair.

"That was quite the fall. You're the second person I know who has ever survived falling into this church." The brown-haired woman said as she looked at Gohan's hair.

"A lot like his...

"Huh?"

"Oh! Sorry just thinking!" Said the mysterious woman. "So what brings you to my home?"

"Oh you know..." Gohan began as he stood up. "Giant robots, falling, lots of pain. That kind of thing."

"Oh... so your used to fighting?"

"Kind of my thing now, wasn't before."

'Looks like my clothes took the brunt of the explosion...' Gohan thought as he checked each limb and saw that the soldier uniform had taken some heavy damage.

"So the place you've woken up in is a church in the Sector five slums." The strange woman said as she occasionally glanced at him.

"You wouldn't happen to have any needles or thread would you?" Gohan asked politely as he tried to save what remained of his soldier outfit.

"You sow?"

"A little I guess..." Gohan replied as he began walking around.

"Oh! I'm asking so many questions but we haven't even introduced ourselves yet! I'm Aerith Gainsborough, though I also go by the name 'Aeris the flower girl'.

"Aerith is fine." Gohan replied. I'm Gohan, Son Gohan, a former member of Shinra, currently mercenary for hire."

"Oh... but there's gotta be way more to you than that..." Aerith said, confusing Gohan.

"Anyway.. how long was I out for?" Gohan said, filling the conversation away for further inspection.

"Not that long... in fact, if you hadn't landed in my flower bed you might have been out longer."

"My bad!" Gohan exclaimed as he quickly moved out of the flower patch.

"It's ok.." Aerith laughed. "If the flowers can survive these conditions then I'm very sure that they can survive you falling on them. You'r very considerate."

"Why thank you." Gohan said as he rubbed the back of his head.

"So why were you fighting giant robots?" Aerith asked.

"A friend asked me to help them with a job.. it got intense," Gohan replied.

"I see.. well it seems like my flowers are doing a good thing for the slums."

"I guess so.." Gohan said as a red-haired man entered the church.

"Looks like you've got company." The man said as Aerith spotted him.

"Stay away from me!" Aerith said as Gohan looked between Aerith and the red-haired guest.

"I'm sorry, but I have orders."

"Gohan? You said that you do many jobs, right?" Aerith asked.

"Yeah, but what has that got to do with what's going on here?" Gohan replied.

"If you protect me from this guy and get me home, I'll pay for your services."

"I don't take flowers as payment, much as I would love to, they don't fill the stomach or pay the rent." Gohan said apologeticly.

"Then how about a date?"

"Huh?"

"If you keep me safe, I'll go on a date with you."

"... You really don't have any form of money do you?" Gohan sighed as he stood between her and his possible threat.

"Look, I don't normally tend to do this but you seem like a nice person. Also, if you hadn't planted those flowers, I would be in a lot worse shape right now."

"Look kid, this has nothing to do with you, so why don't you just walk away?"

"Can't do that, I'm afraid this pretty young lady has requested my services and, in exchange for her saving my life, I'm entitled to protect her." Gohan said as he took his sword off. "And speaking of which... anything that involves Shinra does involve me, especially Proffesor Hojo so you Turks will have, to go through me if you want the girl." Gohan finished as he pointed his sword at the intruder who then called for reinforcments after noticing Gohan's sword.

"So what the director said was true, if someone like you could survive, then anyone could." The red-haired man said as he stared at Gohan.

"Please don't fight in here, the flowers will get hurt!" Aerith exclaimed.

Leading Gohan to a back door, Aerith glanced at the Turks.

"If you must fight, fight outside."

Placing his sword back on his back, Gohan sighed."Like red guy said, they are just doing their job... so I have a better idea."

Picking up Aerith bridal style, Gohan ran through the door that Aerith had shown him.

"Sorry guys, my problem isn't with you, it's with your boss, however follow me too much and I will have to defend myself." Gohan shouted as he ran through the church.

"How are you able to carry me with those wounds, let alone move as fast as you do?" Aerith said in surprise as she wrapped her arms around Gohan's neck.

"Shinra have a lot to answer for, but now is not the time to discuss things like that. Let's just get you home and then figure things out from there." Gohan said as he ran along the beams of the church ceiling.

'They sure do, but they keep sending me protectors so it's not all that bad.' Aerith thought as she snuggled into Gohan's arms.

"Geeze... why do I always get the complicated ones?" Gohan said to himself as they made it out of the building.

Looking at the doorway that Gohan and Aerith used, the red-haired Shinra agent sighed.

"Go after them, but be careful of the flowers!"

"But sir.. your stepping all over them.." Said one of the soldiers.

"GO!"
