Chapter 4
Unknown location:
"Konan. Are you ok?"
That voice.
Looking up she sees a young Yahiko and Nagato looking at her in concern.
'It can't be…'
"What are you doing outside in the rain? You need to get inside before you get sick" Yahiko told her as he grabbed her hand before leading her inside their hideout.
Konan could do nothing but allow him to lead her inside as she was still in shock at what was happening.
Once inside she then sees both Yahiko and Nagato each take a seat and start chatting amongst themselves while their dog laid down to get some rest having her take a good look at her surroundings which she immediately recognizes as the cave they used to live in.
This had been their home for a long time. It hadn't been much but it beat living in the streets.
Still…
'Is this a dream?'
"So what do you say Konan?" Yahiko suddenly asks.
Startled at hearing Yahiko asking her something, she looks towards them and sees them looking at her with concerned looks.
"Are you ok? You've been acting kinda weird lately" Nagato asks her
Hearing this she inwardly curses for not paying attention though she answers none the less.
"I'm fine. I was just thinking about the past" Konan couldn't help but say.
Looking at her with confusion for a few more seconds, Nagato smiles while Yahiko grins and nods accepting her answer.
"As I was saying. I think it's we make my dream a reality. Once we control the world, the three of us along with anyone else like us won't have to suffer again and we can do whatever we want"
"So what do you say? Do you want to help me achieve my dream?"
Closing her eyes, she was about to respond with a "Yes" only to hear a demonic voice behind her.
"So this is the moment the Akatsuki was born"
Startled at hearing the demons voice she quickly turns around and sees the hooded demon looking down at her before looking towards her friends.
Looking back she expected to see her friends with shocked looks only to see they were no longer there. In fact she was no longer in the cave but outside on what looked like a battlefield of sorts as it began raining again.
All around her she could see the dead bodies of both ninjas and civilians. However, one thing caught her eye. Three dark figures could be seen standing close to each other with their backs to her.
"How could you let this happen to me?" one of the figures spoke/
Recognizing the voice, the figure in the middle turns around revealing the lifeless corpse of an older Yahiko who was covered in black rods and was missing his eyes.
"Y-Yahiko"
"How could you let Nagato do this to me? How could you let him turn me into a lifeless puppet! You were supposed to be my friends!" "Yahiko" yelled as he began making his way towards her.
Konan seeing this takes a few steps back only to bump into someone.
Fully expecting the hooded demon to be behind her, she turns around only for her eyes to widen even more as she sees the corpse of a familiar woman with long light blue hair.
Her mother.
"M-Mom?"
"How could you do this to us? You promised us that you would help everyone in need when you grew up but instead you decided to join someone who wants to kill everyone" Konan's mom said while looking at her daughter with bloody eyes.
The third figure then appears beside the woman revealing a man with short dark blue hair and no eyes.
"Where did your mother and I go wrong…"
"Dad"
"We gave our lives so you could escape from the war and have a better life and this is how you repay us? By willingly following someone who wants to commit mass murder for his so called 'peace.' Your no better than Hanzo"
Hearing this, Konan begins to shed tears at hearing how disappointed her best friend and parents are with her.
"I wanted to create a world where no one would ever suffer like we did but I never wanted to sacrifice the innocent to do so. You and Nagato have twisted my dream. Had I known this would happen I would've never bother saving either of you" Yahiko said followed by Demgoblin's voice being heard all around.
"Maybe that's what she wants. After all she plans to help Nagato invade Konoha to destroy it, killing everyone in the process" the hooded demon said having the three of them look at her with disappointed looks while Konan looked shocked at how Demogoblin knew that.
"My daughter truly is gone then. She's been replaced by this monster" Konan's mother said as the ground beneath her began to crumble.
Seeing this Konan tries to grab onto her mother only to be unable to move.
"Since you refuse to redeem yourself and stop Nagato then prepare to pay for your sins" Konan's father says as all three figures 'eyes' turn red followed by their bodies bursting into flames.
"Goodbye daughter/ Konan" all three figures said as their bodies were pulled into the middle crashing into each other forming one giant flame that spread all around before suddenly disappearing.
Then out of nowhere Five giant pale yellow claws suddenly emerged from around what was left of the now floating platform, grabbing a hold it followed by a massive figure rising from the dark depths revealing none other than a giant version of Demogoblin.
Things got worse for Konan as the middle part of what was left of the platform crumbled away revealing the jaws of a giant monster with one eye that looked like a cross between the Sharingan and Rinnegan trashing around like a wild beast.
Konan could do nothing but scream as the rest of the ground was just mere moments away from crumbling away while being unable to use any kind of jutsu to escape, especially since she was still stuck in her child form.
"NOOO! PLEASE I'M SORRY!" Konan pleaded to Demogoblin who could be seen holding on to the monster by its ten tails with one hand while letting out a demonic laugh.
"You said you'd die for Nagato instead of telling me where he is. In that case, enjoy dying at the hands of your future creation" Demogoblin said as the last piece of the platform crumbled away having her fall.
"PLEASE DON'T LET ME DIE! I PROMISE I'LL TELL YOU HIS LOCATION!"
The last thing that could be heard where the final cries of Konan as she feel into the monsters awaiting jaws.
"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Konan screamed as the beast swallowed her whole
With Demogoblin and the others:
"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" Konan suddenly yelled surprising everyone aside from Demogoblin as she fell to her knees.
Jiraiya hearing Konan yell in anguish out of nowhere turns to Demogoblin and sees his eyes glowing with a pleased smirk.
"Tell us where Nagato is hiding and you can avoid that fate" Demogoblin said as he watched Konan shaking in fear.
Jiraiya seeing Konan looking like she had just been through the worst nightmare imaginable looks at Demogoblin and grabs him by his vest.
"What did you do to her!" Jiraiya demanded. He didn't care that Konan had tried to kill him. She was and will always be one of his students and seeing her look so terrified was just wrong.
"It was either that or I take her soul and gather the information that way" Demogoblin responded getting wide eyes from Jiraiya.
Grabbing Jiraiya's hand and prying it away, he then walks towards Konan and gets on one knee. Konan seeing this looks up at Demogoblin who looks at her serious.
"The monster you saw is what Nagato will unleash once he gathers all the tailed beast" Demogoblin told her having her eyes widen at hearing the monster is real "So I'll ask you one more time. Where is Nagato!"
