Life in the village was nothing like Mowgli had ever thought it would be...

Just weeks ago, he was tempted by a girl- that he had come to know as Shanti -had lured him into the village with her wondrous singing and a charm that Mowgli easily fell for.

But when he entered the village at both the temptation of the girl and urging of his two friends(well, mostly Bagheera.)...although it hurt to think that he may or may not see the jungle again, he was willing to at least give the village the benefit of the doubt.

After all, Bagheera wanted him to go to the village for his own safety and well-being...so how bad could it be?

Not that it mattered, as this was the only way he'd be safe from Shere Kahn...

Mowgli may have frightened the tiger off with a burning tree branch tied to his tail but undoubtedly the tyrant of the jungle did not die and would soon return once more to seek vengeance.

So for those reasons and more- well mostly Shanti -Mowgli was willing to give it a shot...

Mowgli, however, quickly learned that the village and his own kind were very different from those he knew from the jungle. In the Jungle he could live a care free life. He was protected by his friends and wolf family, and he had all the food he could ever need just by simply finding it in the trees and bushes and occasionally being brought something to feast on by those he cared and loved.

The Village proved to him it was something else entirely and, Mowgli hated within a day of spending it with Shanti's family. Who- paradoxically - happily welcomed the lost, little jungle boy who needed a home and family to watch over and care for him.

From having to be wakened from his sleep resting what was called a hammock- a large piece of cloth tied between two beams in a room that he was given when he was welcomed -Mowgli had to learn what chores were.

In the Village the children or cubs around his age older or less could not simply pass through the day laughing and playing all the time. They were only allowed to do so after they finished their chores.

Washing, Dressing, Cleaning, Fetching, Among so many other things! It was very overbearing for the man-cub.

Though, really, he had it easy compared to the others around his age who lived their whole lives in the village who knew from the day they could stand upright and be self-sufficient that they would have to start earning their meals and getting moments to themselves by working hard and without complaint or getting into trouble.

Unfortunately, Mowgli's old life from the jungle kept interfering with his newfound life in the village.

Even doing the most basic of chores was difficult. To fold clothes that were dry off a line. How could he always remember just how to fold what is shirts and pants in the right order?

Washing was another task that was hardly invigorating. Scrubbing the floor of his home with a rag and a bucket of water was aggravating as well!

He never had to do such a thing in the jungle. Everywhere was dirty and if something was in the way they would brush it aside!

But in the hut where Mowgli stayed his adopted mother would tell him to scrub every bit of dirt from the floor. Never allowing the place they reside in to look like the filth of a damp dark cave.

Mowgli took some offense by that. He lived in a cave most of his life after all!

There he'd been Surrounded by those that raised and protected him. True, it was cramped at times with such a large pack, but Mowgli was able to make it work easily.

The Occasional bug crawled over him at times, but that was just a little annoyance. To rest against the soft of his wolf mother and to have some of his wolf brothers and sisters rest against him made him like the happiest mancub in the jungle.

But living here in the man village surrounded by the people that were his 'own kind'... he felt like a fish out of water.

He thought he could live carefree and happily in the village. When Shanti had lured him in, he honestly thought perhaps the village could be very pleasant...

He recalled the moment when he shrugged to his two best friends before entering the village, following Shanti while he held the water jug over his head. Yet ANOTHER thing he would be forced to learn while living in the village.

To be fair, The Village wasn't without it's good qualities. Most of the villagers were kind to Mowgli...

While there was some who either mistrusted him for being an outsider, consider him a liar in regards to his supposed jungle origins or saw him as a potentially a runaway trouble maker that came to the village to cause them all grief.

Some even disbelieved his story of being raised by animals. A Foolish lie as, Mowgli certainly could be a run away or a trouble maker that came to the village to cause them all grief.

But people like that were thankfully only a minority in the village...and such annoyances was easily ignored with all that wonderful food!

Yes, Mowgli had to admit that the food the villagers served were a lot better than he could have imagined.

He ate all sorts of delectable treats that were beyond the sweetest fruits from the jungle.

He tasted cooked meat for the first time. The Meat tender and broiled lathered with some kind of spice that made the taste zingy and delicious.

Even combining meat and vegetables that were grown in a place where fruits and veggies were purposely grown from the ground, or a 'garden' as it was explained to Mowgli.

While being taught to Mix the many foods in a pot of boiling water heated up over a fire, Mowgli soon came to know how exactly fire is made by hand.

He was glad he didn't know that before, otherwise King Louie would've caused have caused all kinds of trouble. Such a 'tool' allowed him to beat Shere Kahn, the thought of what Louie could've done with it almost terrified Mowgli!

But all the same... life in the village was dull, boring and exhausting.

He rarely had time to do anything remotely fun. He recalled the happier times- short as they were -with, Baloo.

Living the Bear Necessities of life. To have everything he would ever need and not ever having to worry about anything. No hard work to get what was needed to live the best life he could ever want with no one telling him what to do or how to live what they desired him to live as...who wouldn't love that?

Mowgli attempted to get any of the other children his age or younger to understand the fun that the jungle offered...

But with such life in the village, most would turn away in fear and a few would tease and laugh at him. 'What is there to be had in the jungle?', they would ask... They would point out how It was filled with all sorts of predators that would eat you as soon as they saw you. Some of their own parents had unfortunate run-in's with some of them, having gained scars or serious injuries from the animals that sought them as prey. Frankly, they were fortunate to have escaped theses encounters alive.

Even Mowgli couldn't deny such dark truths. He tried to explain that as long as they ONLY go to certain areas they would be more than safe to enjoy all that the jungle had to offer...it was hopeless! Though some of the kids liked the idea of never having to always work and earn their supper...But the jungle was just too a scary of a place to them! Besides, the adults had forbidden them from going ant farther than the river just outside the walls of the village. They would get in big trouble if they disobeyed and trouble usually meant they would go to bed hungry. This, more then anything was a wall Mowgli could not surmount: the fact no one wanted to miss their meals for something so easily avoided such as NOT being arrogant, lazy or pigheaded.

after days of trying to reason with them, Mowgli began to despair that convincing them was useless...

Shanti was the only one who would give his stories the benefit of a doubt. She could easily believe that was at least SOME truth to them.

She could still recall the day they both met, she'd spotted a bear and panther in the bushes across from the river.

While the Panther seemed satisfied to see Mowgli follow her in and join the village to live a more safer and satisfying way of living...The Bear had looked rather sad...that last bit in particular stuck with her no matter how much she tried to ignore it...

For while this made her somewhat contemplative of life in the jungle...she was happy in the village...and she tried her best to make Mowgli see he could be equally happy here if he gave it a shot.

But as far as Mowgli was concerned, there was nothing to be happy about. The Village- to him -was the worst place he could be. Shanti was an exception, but most of the other villagers were not those he would prefer to be around longer than he had to.

He missed the jungle greatly. To be in the place where he was raised by those he actually loved and called family...

This adopted HUMAN family may have given him a place to stay out of the the goodness of their hearts...and to a certain extent Mowgli COULD appreciate that... but living in the village went against everything that made him who he was as a person...

Day after day it was the same thing over and over again...

The Same chores that needed to be done quickly and efficiently. Heeding the orders of the father of the family who also happened to be the village Chief. Being the leader of the village, his orders were quite firm. He had to make sure everyone was behaving as they should and everything was in working order.

That no one was taking more food than they had to, that there were no thefts of either the storage or the armory, that no one was causing trouble and/or mischief that could unsettle the villages daily work ethic.

Should anything go amiss it was both his responsibility and obligation to confront and settle it before it could become a disaster.

Although well-meaning, there was times that Mowgli felt he took this too far...

One such incident was when Mowgli tried to lead a few of the more daring children into he jungle. Sadly they chickened out at the last minute...and one of them even went as far as TATTLE on Mowgli! As punishment, Mowgli suffered the consequence of not having dinner for the night for his act of 'foolishness'.

He tried to explain that he hadn't been taking them out anywhere to be put at risk that he'd been taking them to the SAFE areas he knew to have fun...but yet again it fell on deaf ears...

After that event Mowgli thought it would be best if he just returned to the jungle. What was keeping him here?

It had been weeks since he came to the village, and they were the hardest weeks of his life.

All the chores. All the men and women treating him like he was a helpless newborn. The other children now avoiding him, scared they'll get in trouble again.

Only Shanti gave Mowgli any form of care, by slipping him a small plate of fruit during the night.

Mowgli sat looking longingly at the jungle through the window...

He made his decision. Come the next morning, he would leave the place for good.

The Morning had come, and Mowgli had the perfect plan to finally leave the village and return to his rightful home: the Jungle.

Once he got most of his chores done the last chore left would be to fetch water from the river just outside the walls.

Usually, it was water that the livestock needed or it was used for cleaning or cooking. Either way, water was essential to every need of the village. More importantly it was the most basic chore that a child younger than himself could do, so less need for supervision.

Therefore, It was the ONLY time Mowgli would ever be away from the watchful eyes of the adults.

The only other person that COULD be around was Shanti but now that she'd taught him how to do it, she usually left him oh his own to do that.

After finishing most of his chores Mowgli picked up the jug near the hut, he groaned from the effort.

It was empty yet still had some weight to it. Mowgli- again - wondered how Shanti made it look so easy when for him it would take some effort to lift? Was it due to her being born and raised in the jungle or was there more to him than he first imagined since the day he met her?

and was about to head to the familiar path-

CRACK!

-but he ran into the Chief, bumping in him so hard that Mowgli bounced back a bit and nearly fell.

The Chief gave a hearty chuckle at the boys clumsiness.

Despite the fact he had punish Mowgli, it was only due to the fact that he cared for him. He understood that he came from the jungle, but with Sheer Kahn about it was just too dangerous.

Mowgli may not be his son by blood as Ranjan was...but he adored him nevertheless he was a child filled with great stamina and a little bit of charisma! He could never hear enough of his stories of living in the jungle and having all sorts of fun adventures...

"Where do you think your off to, Mowgli?" The Chief asked wiping some dirt that got on his shirt from the empty jug that nearly fell from, Mowgli's hands.

"Oh? I uh…" Mowgli tried to explain as he could not let on what he was truly planning to do. Even though he hated the Chief for punishing him that day when he not only denied him entry to the jungle with other children but disallowed him from having dinner he felt a little bad about doing this. He reminded him a lot of Bagheera. He didn't know which one of them was more strict? "I'm just getting some water." Chuckled Mowgli nervously trying to act nonchalant.

The Chief turned his head sideways a little as, Mowgli was acting a bit strange, but it could be due to him feeling bad over the punishment he received before. It hurt him that he had to feel the temporary spite from his child over the action, but an undisciplined child becomes an undisciplined adult and those kind of people are anything but productive members of the village who could eventually cause great problems for the people that lived as good souls that would benefit the village for years to come.

"Very good, Mowgli. Try not to take too long your mother is preparing lunch it will be ready within the hour; do well to stay within the boundaries of the village. I don't have to remind you of wandering out into the jungle, do I?" Asked the Chief with a hint of firmness in his voice staring down at the boy making, Mowgli shudder.

"No sir!" Mowgli answered quickly and the Chief smiled petting his head.

"Good boy. Now run along now and be mindful of your step. Try to keep balance and not spill the jug again. Took me two days to have a new one made since you broke the last one due to your misstep." He reminded the boy and, Mowgli was walking away keeping his back turned to him. Mowgli glared wishing he could let the man see him and make him understand that his rules were NOT invigorating, and the village was just not the place for him, but he feared him enough to not test him. Being sent to his room without dinner was bad enough but he had heard even worse punishments could happen to boys if they disrespect their fathers and elders. Some of them even had scars of said punishments and, Mowgli did not wish for himself to be harmed in any kind of way.

Mowgli continued to walk for the entry way that would lead out to the river south of the village. It would take him to the path that now was all too familiar to him. It had plenty of memories by now including the very one that brought him to the village in the first place. His biggest regret of them all.

Shanti had spotted Mowgli going to the path while she exited her own home when it was her time to go and fetch way before lunch.

It would be nice to walk side by side with her best friend, but she noticed that, Mowgli was walking rather too fast.

Sure, he may have gotten accustomed to the weight of the jug by now, but he was going so fast that it seemed to her that he was far too eager to get water.

That was not like Mowgli at all...

Mowgli had now left the village and went towards the river...with Shanti was following close behind...

She now knew that he was up to something... She knew him all too well by now...

Once Mowgli was close to the river he stared at the jungle that was just on the other side of it. He put the jug in the bushes nearby and covered it up with a few branches and leaves that were laying around the jungle floor. That was the last time he would carry that heavy pot made of clay. He went towards a log that hung over the river that collapsed over it a week before when a heavy storm came through and due to the great amount of rain and wind the tree tumbled over the river making an efficient bridge that was fun to cross over at times but, Mowgli wouldn't hang on it so long to avoid being gone for too long from the village or be at risk of getting in trouble.

Only this time Mowgli was not in any fear of getting in trouble. He was going to cross that tree and go back to the jungle and return to the family he missed very much. He walked over the tree with his arms splayed out. He was so close to finding the freedom he desired. Not long now after having to follow the villages strictness and need to work without much joy or games to play. It would soon all be over for him, and he can return to where he belonged.

But as soon as Mowgli crossed the tree to the other side of the river Shanti had just made to the edge of the river watching the boy. She quietly kneeled down and watched. She did not wish to get Mowgli into trouble but if he should disappear into the jungle she would have to run back and tell the people that, Mowgli is missing. They would send search parties for him, and should he be found and not in a state of trouble that caused his disappearance he could be get into trouble of most tremendous consequence. To flee the Village by free will is extreme. Not even the chief himself could save his own son from the punishment that would have to be brought down on him for what he would do.

But before Mowgli could make a move a panther leapt down from the trees above landing on the middle of the tree getting, Mowgli's attention and, Shanti for a brief moment was frightened by the sudden appearance of one of jungles most elusive predators but she realized that it was, Bagheera, Mowgli's friend and father figure. Unknown to others she actually had a conversation or two with the panther who was more pleasant than she would have given a predator of the jungle any credit. He was both intelligent and kind. He would never harm anyone from the village certainly not a child and being the one who befriend, Mowgli she would tell him how, Mowgli was doing and usually that was the same news to him. Never allowing himself
to truly fit in. Missing the jungle and having the occasional thought of leaving it.

Shanti had heard plenty of Mowgli's longing to be back in the jungle through the quiet times of night when she would walk past his house and hear his wishful pleas of being back where he loved everything, and he could be his true self again.

"Hi Bagheera!" Mowgli smiled but the Panther did not look too happy with, Mowgli. Since the day he went to the village he always kept an eye on him from the highest trees around the village. He wanted to make sure that, Mowgli remained there and stayed where he belonged. Shere Kahn was still in the jungle seeking revenge on, Mowgli for what he did to him. Mowgli's best chance at survival was to stay in the village and abide by his own peoples ways. Strange that they are.

"Man-cub where do you think your going?" Demanded Bagheera slowly coming up to Mowgli his eyes strict and his expression very less than friendly.

"I Want to go back to the Jungle, I hate the village. Please let me go back going back to the jungle!" Mowgli pointed to the jungle behind him.

Bagheera shook his head scornfully. "I'm sorry Mowgli, but Sheer Kahn is still hunting for you! Only here can you be safe! It shirly can't be that bad! What about that girl cub you followed?"

Mowgli sighed, "I do like Shanti...she'll be what I miss mist...but I just can't live here anymore!" Shouted Mowgli as he suddenly tried to run past him.

Meanwhile Shanti watched on in shock, she was both dismayed that her friend was going to leave the village...and flustered that he thought so highly of her...

turning his back to the panther and grabbed a small tree that was only thin enough for the man-cub.

"We've been through this before, Mowgli. You're going back to where you belong!" Growled the Panther coming up to Mowgli baring his teeth. This time he was not going to let Mowgli get the best of him!

Desperate, Mowgli grabbed the nearest thing to keep from being dragged away... a small tree that was only thin enough for the man-cub.

"No, I am not!" Retorted Mowgli deja vu of their last 'fight' was hitting him hard. He won the fight before and he was determined to win again. There was only one place the panther would be able to grab him at and he was ready for it.

"So be it, Mowgli!" The Panther came close opening up his mouth and snapped his jaws shut between the back of, Mowgli's loincloth and began to pull and tug at it.

"Let go!" Mumbled Bagheera seething through his clenched teeth as he began to pull hard at Mowgli's only bit of clothing, making the boy pull away from the tree. But he kept his hands firmly gripped on the tree.

"Let go of me!" Snapped Mowgli feeling the humidity of the jungle touch the bare skin that was being revealed through the expanding loincloth.

Shanti suppressed a giggle. The Panther was strong, but Mowgli was determined. The sight of his naked rear made it very difficult for her to not laugh at her friends misfortune as the Panther continued to pull back on the loincloth, making it stretch even more!

Bagheera continued to pull back on the man-cubs loose bit of clothing as Mowgli utterly refused to go back to the village. But his loincloth was being pulled so hard now he could feel the silk bottoms pull from his front lower body. It started to hurt him a little. His nether region started to be pressed inward so badly that it was hard for him not to cry out from the sharp pain. But he held on! For he knew that should he lose his grip, his chances at returning to the jungle were slim to none.

If only Bagheera was not here! He would have surely gotten so far into the jungle that he could not have been able to taken back even if it would have resulted in the same scenario he was enduring right now.

"Stop it!" Mowgli shouted as his grab tightened on the tree as it started to peel down from the top. The Panthers tugging was starting to get more fierce and Mowgli's loincloth continued to stretch across the tree. Already Bagheera was at the middle of the tree over the river and still continued to pull.

"Never!" Bagheera seethed through his teeth again. He would not allow for Mowgli to make a mockery of him again. He lost the fight before and that ended up making him look foolish and angry enough to leave Mowgli in the jungle. Where he then encountered Baloo who made things all the more difficult to make Mowgli come to the man village.

"Bagheera!" Shouted Mowgli as he was being pulled back hard now. Already his body was hanging in the air and his hands were now starting to lose their grip on the tree. He remembered how he held on and Bagheera lost his grip before. The Panther had to understand he was not going to go back to where he did not wish to return to.

Sadly, it was not to be...

"Let go, you!" Bagheera continued to tug and pull so hard that most of Mowgli's loincloth was barely on him now. Shanti- who was still getting a birds eye view of the struggle -found it all the harder for her to hide her amusement. For now Mowgli was bare as the day he was born, the whole scene was so funny that even the grumpiest village elder would find it laughable.

"Please! No!" Cried Mowgli as his grip was more desperate but it was starting to slip from the tree. His fingers were peeling from the bark of it slowly. If the Panther did not stop he would surely be pulled from the tree.

"I don't want to go back!" Screamed Mowgli as he tried his very best now calling upon every bit of strength he had left. If he goes back to the village everything will return to how its been for him for weeks. Dull, boring and infuriating. That's no way for him to live at all.

Unfortunately this fight with his old friend was not going in his favor this time. His finger tips were all that was left on the tree and even that was failing fast! Mowgli whimpered as his grip suddenly left the safety of the tree and he went careening back at a high speed.

Seeing the man-cub finally lose his grip on the tree, Bagheera released the outstretched loincloth and immediately leaped out of the way of the oncoming Mowgli who started to tumble and twirl backwards across the tree.

Mowgli cried out in his spinning as he was rolling back towards the other side of the tree and, Shanti saw that he was coming straight for her. She quickly jumped out of the way, Mowgli had just enough time to see that he was now heading straight for Shanti's water jug!

Bracing himself for an impact that he though would shatter the pot-

POP!

But his upper body spun about going into the jug at the right angle and Mowgli's upper body went into it.

Bagheera and Shanti were very surprised by the ordeal and, Mowgli's wailing was muffled within the jug and to make matters worse for him the only parts of his body left were his lower area, and his loincloth was so badly stretched out it slipped off his flailing legs, leaving him completely naked for all to see.

The Panther and the girl could not hold it in and laughed together. The Scene in front of them was downright hilarious. Mowgli had trapped himself inside the water jug. He could barely lift himself from the jug and with his arms trapped inside with the rest of his upper body there was very little he could do.

"Oh, my!" Shanti laughed so much that a tear flowed down her eye and Bagheera too felt the same amusement in him.

On top of everything else, his flailing privates were now on full display! His rear was scrawny and pale and his 'manhood'- and she used that term 'loosely' -was so adorably tiny! Her pinky toe was bigger then that! Heck, Even her YOUNGER brother Ranjan's winky was bigger then his!

"That is what happens to boys who are not well behaved.", Huffed Bagheera, though he did feel bad for the necessity of this...but it was for Mowgli's own good...especially with Shere Kahn still prowling about...

"I agree."Said Shanti with a nod, while she did like Mowgli...he could get rather full of himself...this blow to his ego would hopefully quite him down a bit...

getting to her feet and grabbed the end of the water jug that had, Mowgli completely trapped in. She lifted up the jug slowly onto her head thanks to years of practice..., Mowgli kept flailing, desperate to get out of this pickle. But his svelte body was child's play compared to all the gallons of water Shanti had juggled over the years...

So all he accomplished was jiggling his 'tadpole tail' around in a very ridiculous way...

"Well, I better get him back to the village so someone can help get him out. Thanks for keeping him from making a terrible mistake." Shanti smiled at the panther who nodded back at her.

"Take care of yourself, Little one. I look forward to finding out how this poorly behaved boy gets his comeuppance." Grinned Bagheera as he leapt back up to the trees...

While Shanti did nod...she resolved not to tell anyone what Mowgli had actually been trying to do, she'd say she'd collided with him or something like that. Getting him in more trouble wouldn't accomplish anything but get him more angry and resentful to the village...

Hopefully the knowledge that Bagheera would stop him and the shame of having his teeny weeny displayed to everyone would be enough to dissuade any future attempts to escape...in any case, Shanti carried the struggling boy back to the village atop her head.

"Come along, Mowgli lets get you some help." Laughed Shanti pulling, Mowgli to the village.

Within the jug Mowgli screams were drowned in confined space he was trapped in. He could not pull away as the position was too hard for him to resist.

He didn't know what was worse now. Being stuck in a pot or his butt and other bodily organ hanging out in full display? Either way this was the most humiliating moment of his life and it was only going to get worse now...

Thanks to that overprotective panther who now was never going to let him return to the jungle and his fate was sealed and now he had nothing to look forward to but being miserable for the rest of his life...
