X952 opened its eyes and looked around. It found itself floating in an amber liquid in a cylinder in a room with walls of wood and metal. Suddenly the liquid began draining and the cylinder began lowering. Looking about it could see nineteen other cylinders, all lowering into the ground. Before it could see more hard coverings were placed on it. As it waited for instructions, Suddenly nineteen voices started screaming.
In the control room of the lab, Mundus grew Angrier and angrier. On-screen nineteen of the twenty planned creatures had begun to derezolve. They were melting while simultaneously dissolving into Data mist. Then to his surprise, the nineteenth bolted before fresh coverings could be placed and the ones already there could be secured. "All guard demons." He announced. "Experiment X952 has escaped the gestation lab prematurely. Capture and return it to the gestation lab so it can be completed. DO NOT USE MORTAL ATTACKS ON IT!" Mundus looked into the source chamber where the essence of a creature called a Digimon that was huge and a human of a line that has to his surprise lasted 750 generations.
He started this project to create the ultimate servant/assassin. 950 batches previously were complete failures as the entire batch was Deresolved, the previous batch became Digital Demons that were bestial in nature and intelligence. perfect for shock/terror troops but useless for the purpose he created them for. Now the only survivor appears to have awakened prematurely. He had to recapture it before it could develop a mind of its own where it would develop a personality and moral code that didn't match his and he couldn't allow that to happen.
X952 ran for all it was worth. it didn't know where it was trying to get to only that it wasn't where it currently was. She looked behind at what appeared to Ant-Wolf hybrids in hot pursuit. Suddenly! a mirror appeared in front of it. It could see itself in the mirror, it appeared to be an androgynous anthro rabbit wearing a metal one-piece swimsuit, boots, & bracers. She considered dodging around it when she heard, "MOMMY GET UP! THE BAD THINGS ARE COMING! PLEASE WAKE UP! SOMEBODY HELP US!!!" the cry for help triggered something in her and she doubled her pace and jumped through the mirror, which shattered when she was through.
Mundus roared in rage when his scrying crystal showed X952 entering the human world. "HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN?! NOW I HAVE TO DESTROY X952 AND START OVER!!!"
Margret cried as misshapen horrors closed with her and her trapped mother. they growled and drooled at the thought of the impending feast, when a form sailed over her, dropping something next to her, it rolled to standing in front of her then shouting, "BUNNY BLAST!" and the horrors were torn to shreds. as each horror died a little glowing orb would fall out. Marget watched as the bunny fought off the horrors and then walked among the bodies, orbs flying into her. As she started to walk up to Margaret saw a large wolf creature falling toward her savior. "LOOK OUT!"
The rabbit girl jumped back, causing the wolf to land and create a crater.
"Who interferes with the Wild Hunt!?" Demands the wolf.
"I do!" The rabbit woman replied. "There was a cry for help and I answered."
"Then you die then serve as one of the wolves of WODEN!!"
"I don't think so," she replied before attempting to attack only to abort her attack when Woden swung a maul on where she would've been if she maintained course. She attempted another attack and Woden prevented that one. Then began a dance where she would attack, Woden would counter and she would notice with enough time to dodge. This continued for ten minutes before he feints and managed to strike her in her chest. As she went sailing back to the girl and her pinned mother, she thought, "I'm sorry I couldn't save you." and closed her eyes.
Margret watched as the bunny lady tried to fight the big meanie, and screamed when her defender was sent flying back to land next to her. She closed her eyes and screamed, "NATALIA DON'T DIE ON ME AGAIN!" Afterward, rhythmic music began playing and the bunny lady was encased in an energy bubble. She looked toward Woden, who raised his maul to bring it down on the rabbit.
A voice seemed to come from the sphere saying, "Experiment X952 digivolve to Natalia Lapinoff, the Black Bunny!" then the globe let out a pulse that sent Woden sailing back. When everyone's vision was clear of spots, the bunny lady was taller, wearing a black metal cloth jumpsuit, golden heel-less boots, and thick golden bracers. She had black body fur & hair and yellow eyes. She looked straight at Woden, then grabbed the piece of rubble that pinned Margret's mom and threw it at Woden.
The Leader of the wild hunt could only open his eyes wide before it hit and he went sailing out of sight.
A short time later, and a few miles away. The wolfman-like Wodan landed five yards from the group who had among them, Nero. He was under a piece of rubble and was looking dazed. If it was a cartoon his eyes would look like swirls. They noted the wreckage was slightly shorter than he was three feet thick. Suddenly a white sword stabbed through him and he dissolved.
Back with Nat & the humans. The adult human. "Mommy?" Margaret asked. Her mother looked at Nat and waved her over. The mother picked up the object that fell when Nat arrived and gave it to her daughter and it glowed briefly. She then took her daughter's and placed it in Nat's then closed Nat's hand over the girl's. Getting the non-verbal request said solemnly, "I'll raise her as my own." When Nat said that the mother smiled then closed her eyes for the last time and a pink orb rose out of her and drifted into her. Nat noticed Margaret didn't react to the orbs' appearance and it was floating into her. Nat picked up an undamaged cell phone, then picked up Margret who was staring in shock at her lifeless mother's body which rapidly calcified into nothing but a rock-like husk as it was drained of blood by the Qliphoth.
Natalia then looked up and saw a swirling disk of colors appear. After shifting Margret's form for ease of carrying, she stepped through. Once the pair was through, it shattered into digidust. But not before it was observed.
"So he made another, this time a counter to my family line, to tell Virgil about this." A man's voice could be heard as the portal dissolved.
Nat looked around the room. She carefully put Margret down. "I've never seen a Terriermon variant that looked as good as you. Welcome to my home." A male voice said. Nat turned in the direction of the voice and saw what appeared to be Dumbledore from Hogwarts Mystery. "Like it. I decided on a new look and decided to go with it. Gives a more aged mentor look. I'm Genai."
Nat relaxed as something in her told her she could trust the old coot. "Okay," Nat said. "Marget and I just left a city that had just got imperially messed up, like reduced to rubble messed up."
"That was Redgrave City. I'm currently monitoring the situation due to one of my former students having a relative there." Genai said. "Even though he was the demon Lord of Gluttony he always had a noble heart and sought power to protect others as he once said 'being a Demon Lord doesn't make you evil it just means you have the ability and the skill to lead others who society deems as outcasts and evil due to circumstances,' it was for that reason he teamed up with the one real-world Demon who fought against the tyranny of Mundus-"
"Sparda," Nat said, knowing exactly who that was by instinct thanks to her creation. "One of the targets I was created to finish off it is unknown if he is still alive but his twin sons are."
"Hey Genai, you're out of beer!" A woman's voice could be heard from the other room causing the seemingly old man to face palm. "Great, she's up," Genai then looked at Margaret. "Although she does have a soft spot for the little ones, this might work."
"Who is Mundus?" Nat asked. "For 8some reason, I feel both thankful, yet I feel loathing of him. And who just woke up and has a soft spot for the little ones?" Genai watched as the bracers became like bands of metal instead of weapons. He then walked over to a wall where a section of it turned into a screen that began showing a read-out on his new guests. The sleeping Margret was shown not only to be human but in possession of a digivice. He scanned the digivice so he could locate the girl's Digimon partner. His eyes widened when it was shown Nat not only scanned as a Digimon but a human as well. "Now that's new." Is all Genai said.
Nat was feeling tired and who could blame her? She had just been "born", chased for who knows how long, literally jumped into another world, fought off some wolf creatures, fought for her existence as against an alpha, digivolved into her then threw a huge piece of rubble into the alpha and sent the alpha sailing out of sight. Then after promising to protect and raise Margret, jumped back to her world of origin. She laid Margret then curled protectively around the girl and fell asleep.
Genai watched the pair as they slept, the Digimon/human hybrid intrigued him. So much so that he decided to contact an old ally for help since the digital world was nearly as dangerous as the human world with the events of Project Ark going into motion. "Dakota I could use your help if I let these three out into the digital world Yggdrasil will get the especially the human hybrid. She's more biohybrid than you contact me as soon as you can."
"I am enroute to you Genai." His ally responded. "I managed to check up on a lead Mundus set up a base on File Island but something happened in it and it was destroyed. A bunch of digital experiments were there. I absorbed their data because they were suffering practically just puddles of loose data, there was enough there to allow me to take on a Bellestarmon form since it seemed to be extremely feminine data."
"Remain human for now although I suggest you keep that new form as a trump card." The digital watcher said. I know how much you hate the man considering what he did to your ancestor and Sparda.
Considering how much turmoil there is in the digital world thanks to him and Project ARK you will be able to shake off the rust by protecting Drazil's creation. Once you show up I'm going to send you and this new group of three into the digital world to protect it."
"Good, make sure that the kid is notified that she is a chosen one now but don't inflate her ego, you know you can do that, remember what Taichi did," Dakota said as he sped through the connection toward Genai's home.
"You're never going to let me live that down are you?" Genai said remembering Taichi forcing his greymon to evolve into skullgreymon. "It wasn't even because of his inflated ego and you know it!"
"Yeah, but remember mentioning they were chosen ones in the first place lead them to have turmoil in the group, break it kindly to her," Dakota said as he entered the building his four wings extended out of his back. "Drazil had better not come after me for having an x-antibody mine involved naturally thanks to being a part human."
"I have no idea what Yggdrasil is doing right now, only that it charged me with finding protectors for its creation," Genai said as he shook the hand of his student. "Welcome back."
Nat groaned and sat up. She looked about and saw a fourth being in the room. She immediately stood protectively in front of Margret and held one arm out the bracer on it expanding revealing small holes. "Who're you?" She demanded.
Genai smiled and said, "Calm down. This is my student and doesn't mean you harm."
Dakota saw the scans that Genai took of the jumpy rabbit woman and to calm her he walked up and gently kissed her on the lips mainly as a way to shock her out of her reaction but also as a silent appreciation of her beauty. Nat's yellow eyes widened in surprise and her bracer went back into standby mode.
"Your not a hunter out to neutralize me?" She asked. "Because all the creatures I met, save three, have tried to kill me. I can't die because I promised Margret's Mother before she died to raise her."
"I need to find what I am and what I can do." She said as she stood protectively in front of Margret. The growling of her stomach, caused her to blush. "
The sound of a bottle opening could be heard from the door. "Genai who are they?" a Woman said. The two adults look to see a Wolf woman standing in the doorway, a beer in her hand and a hexagonal canister of Digibites in her other. "The Rabbit girl is kinda cute but the human reminds me of someone."
Margret chose that moment to wake up. She looked bleary-eyed at the wolf woman and dashed over to hug her leg with a cry of "PUPPY!"
The wolf girl looked down at Marget her normally hard demeanor visibly softened. "Little One I'm not a puppy, I'm a wolf, but thank you for the hug."
"MARGET!" Nat called out in concern before blurring up to the pair then blurring back to the couch after grabbing the girl. She had lowered herself to the girl's and said, "You gave me a scare running up to her like that. I promised your mother I take care of you."
This comment made the Wolf woman put down her beer and hand over the hexagonal box to Margret. "From the smell of blood and ash on you I can tell exactly why you promised that." She said as she sat down by the two of them. "I'll help."
"Thank you," Nat said. "I'm not even a day old and I have a major responsibility." Margret opens the box and sees what appears to hexagonal Pringals which she begins to munch on eagerly.
"I'm adopted myself." The wolf woman said. "I come here to relax, something I had to do since Virgil decided to eat the Qliphoth and send hell into chaos."
"*Sigh* I haven't been alive a single day and I have to protect & raise a human girl who is older than me. I know what I can do but how to do two of them? I don't why I promised Margret's Mother I raise her. I… I'm afraid I'll screw up." Nat said before burying her face in her hands.
"You leave the raising part to me," the man's voice said. "You just protect her. I don't mind Being Mr. Mom for a little one."
Nat looked up in surprise and looked around, "Who's there?!" She called out, her bracers expanding.
"Woah I've been in the room this whole time put those ember celica away!" The man said as the wolf Woman nodded.
"Did you think i meant this little one when i said 'The human reminds me of someone?' i didn't even see her till she hugged me. No, I was talking about Mr. Four Wings over there." she said surprised the rabbit girl had missed him.
"That's not to mention our kiss a few minutes ago," The Man said. "Did you forget or did the hellhound distract you?"
"Uh." Nat said sheepishly, "Yes."
"Well, it's good to know that I'm that attractive and while I do swing that way you got a kid who needs a big sister, not a second mom at least not right now." The hellhound said before turning to the human with the four wings sticking out of his back. "By the way how do you know I was a hellhound?"
"I was listening to your explanation. I figured you were a hellhound due to the fact that you could smell blood and ash just like I can." The human explained, "Only a demon or demon hybrid knows the smell of human blood mixed with ash, even a digital demon like myself, especially a hybrid demon Lord of gluttony like myself."
"Are you an angel?" Margret asked the man noticing his feathered wings.
"In a way all us demons are angels but my kind come from the below place and are there to punish the bad men it's our job." The man said explaining the dynamic of the psudobibical place that hell was. "God asked us to do so after we needed space from him."
"WOW! THAT'S SOO COOL!!!! What's your name?" Margaret asked the man and the Hellhound lady.
"I'm Loona like the moon." Loona the hellhound said.
"Name's Dakota, it means beautiful moon rising in Lakota-Soux" the Man introduced himself causing Loona to blush.
"I'm Natalia Lapinoff," Nat said to Dakota. "I used to be Experiment X952 until I went through something called digivolution."
"That would explain why you scan as both Digimon and human." Genai comments. "It would seem someone was trying to create such and you may be a successful result."
"An artificial biohybrid? Although unlike myself you seem to have a Digimon base," Dakota said as he manteled his upper wings while wrapping his smaller lower ones around his waist. "I wonder if you can also take on a human form. I myself am the result of a human Digimon family line I was born human but have demon blood and data flowing through me. My ancestor was Sparda's digimon partner and to help him grow stronger than the other digital demon lords Sparda gave him some of his demon blood making the old man my uncle in a way."
Nat thought for a moment then closed her eyes. She concentrated, then lines drew a box around her, then it drew lines that divided the box into tiny cubes too numerous to count before the box shattered and a voice announced, "Format change aborted. Wrong method."
Nat opened her eyes growled in frustration, then closed her eyes and tried again.
Two rings appear, one above her ears & one on the ground, which began to move toward her waist. The area in front of the rings was her digital format. The area behind the rings looked human. They continued to move they got to one foot apart before stalling and reversing. After they vanished, the same voice announced, "Format change aborted. Insufficient data & power."
"It appears I need to acquire more power and data." Nay said "Glumly."
It seems that that's probable Digimon can acquire data in three ways through passive observation which takes a long time defeating other Digimon and absorbing said data which is fast but can be messy depending on what kind of Digimon you absorb or the best way physical growth through training it still involves fighting other Digimon but is safer than the absorption method since after you defeat a digimon you either destroy them but allow them to reformat or let them go." Dakota said "for now I think we should head out into the digital world the both of us I've gotten Rusty with my digital weapons and I need the strength to defeat my cousin. His darker half is what caused hell to go into chaos and right now the guy is building up strength strength that I couldn't match at my peak." He chuckled at the thought "Who knew separating out human and demon would make the demon almost a god Then again this is the son of Sparta we're talking about the first demon to defeat a demon king without an equivalent amount of power."
"Maybe you can help the digital world the both of you right now. It's in turmoil because of something you produced Dakota. The X antibody has spread to many Digimon and Project Ark is activating. Omnimon has forgotten himself. Taichi and Matt no longer influence his actions so now he's been following Yggdrasil faithfully without questioning whether it is right or wrong to do so. Magnamon still has some memory of his old partner and Dukemon still holds the human part within himself; currently, they're the three surviving Royal knights that have Digimon to look over, the others are asleep. Yggdrasil has created an artificial being in hopes of bringing about the return of the 13th."
"What is that darn fool doing?! He promised he wouldn't try to exterminate the digital world again!" Dakota shouted while punching a wall where massive cracks spread. "I take it he charged you with watching over this artificial being from a distance and now you want me to do so because you can't keep an eye on him and everyone else here."
"That's right I hate to ask but can you please take over my duty for me? 'Watch from afar and help him if he seems about to die other than that don't intervene' Those were my orders but you a human don't have to follow the orders of the operating system of the digital world do as you see fit but still protect him I'm sure he'll run into the three at some point maybe you can knock some sense into them. Don't worry about the little girl nor the hellhound. I'll watch over them as I used to with…" Tears appeared in the eyes of the digital being.
"Thank you old friend and don't beat yourself up over what you did back then it wasn't you and you know it" Dakota reminded Genai.
Nat put her hand on Margret's sleeping form and looked at her fondly then said to Genai and said, "I'm going hunting and something tells my just being me I'll attract prey and having a little girl to guard will be more bane than boon. If you could watch her while I hunt it would do me a lot of good." Genai smiled and nodded as watching the girl would be a good way to atone for past behavior in his mind.
Nat left Genai's lair and ran into the forest surrounding senses peeled for danger. Mundus when designing her had thought it rather humorous to make a rabbit, a prey species, into his hunter/killer assassin giving her the defensive abilities of a rabbit and then adding offensive capability more in line for a predator. As a result, had given Nat inhuman speed and endurance at the cost of strength and a reduction in durability. She also had a healing Factor. So when detected a scuffle turned towards it and picked up speed.
A pride of Leomon had cornered a mixed group of Digimon with the X Antibody signified by the Crystals embedded in their forms and were moving in for the kill. All of the mixed group were rookies who were no match for the champion Digimon watched in fear as the larger Digimon closed in. They closed their eyes awaiting deletion.
Nat observed from an outcrop. The first thing she noticed was the battlefield was covered with golden life-force orbs and none of them floated to the digimon. Puzzled, she forgot about it when one raised his sword to strike as she jumped down, her bracers thickening. "BUNNY BLAST!" She shouted and fired a barrage at the Leomon with the raised sword. The unfortunate Leomon was turned into Swiss Digi cheese. Life left her target and a life force orb dropped from him as he fell. She landed near the orb which was drawn into her.
in a flash, the human from before passed by her twin gauntlets appearing on his arms. "PHOTON BLASTER!!!" He shouted as the ends of the gauntlets which Nat noticed were twin gunblades fired powerful shots of dark green energy. Each orb struck a Leomon and destroyed it cutting down their number rapidly. "To think even honorable fighters would stoop so low!"
"Thanks for the help." She said to the human, turning her attention to as she also began absorbing the data from the slain Digimon saying as her suit created a mask to conceal her face, "I am the Black Bunny and I am on the hunt. I thank you for the data and life force." She said to the others before charging into their midst. She used her speed and smaller size to move amongst them making it harder to hit her. She jumped on the back and raked her small claws across his eyes, blinding him. The blinded Leomon began to strike blindly, literally.
As she moved around the Golden orbs flew into her, adding to her energy reserves.
One Leomon watched as his fellows fell and fled the battle. Nat saw it and fired a shot that grazed the Leomon's cheek and left a gash that would leave a scar. As the last of the data and life force flewh5 into her, her bracer thinned down. Looking back at the rookies, she ran a short distance before jumping up and rebounding from tree to tree.
The single Loemon raced off going after a purple furry tiny winged rookie someone Dakota recognized as the being Drasil created. "NAT LEAVE IT! I FOUND HIM!" He shouted as he followed the two Digimon.
Nat turned right when Leomon fled left. She heard Dakota call out to her she noted it and continued as she was looking for opponents. She stopped on a branch and waited.
"Metal Cannon!" a your girl's voice shouted from the direction the Leomon ran.
Dakota turned to Nat and motioned with his left gauntlet. "That's our mark we need to save her!"
Nat groaned. She concentrated before heading to catch up to Leomon. "What's this thing about a mark?" She asks.
"Genai asked us to protect Drazil's experiment," Dakota said, flying alongside Nat as she hopped from tree to tree. "i noticed her in the group of rookies we saved that Loemon you grazed went after her and now they're fighting. I know you can't see it yet but most of those Leomon are dying, rapidly i might add. The X program is deleting them. I think that Leomon will die soon but we should be there just in case."
They arrive at the battlefield. Nay deploys her mask, but it's already over the Leomon lay unmoving at the feet of the dragon Digimon. Nat walks up to the dragon digimon before retracting her mask then kneeling next to the digimon and asked, "Are you okay?"
"He's dead." The rookie said, still getting used to fighting and death having been born only a few days ago. "His last request was for me to live for him."
"Then do so," Dakota said as he landed his gauntlets disappearing in white stars. "This world is in turmoil but the best thing to do is live."
"You're both like me!" the dragon cried as she felt the x antibody in their digicores. "Do you know why i'm here?"
"That we cannot say. No one knows for sure why we live." Dakota said.
"I have just come online today." The rabbit Digimon stated. "I haven't figured out MY existence."
"Come with us we have a safe place for you to rest," Dakota said his arms open. "by the way what's your name little one?"
"Dorumon," She said hopping into Dakota's arms.
"I'm Natalia Lapinoff." Nat says as she stands up. "Nice to meet you Dorumon."
the group headed towards a temple at the edge of the desert unbeknownst to most this was the hidden entrance to Genai's home. "This is that safe spot i told you about for now rest just inside."
Nat began watching her surroundings, "We're being watched."
Red eyes appeared from the shadows and a low growl accompanied it. "You two had better have good reason to run off without telling your little girl she's been bugging me with questions for the last three hours!"
"Lulu! Nat went out to train and I found this little one," Dakota said still holding Dorumon who had gotten comfortable in his arms. "It's the artificial being Genai was tasked with watching, Don't use my human name i have a Digimon form with its own name once i transform use that," Dakota said to both Nat and Loona through telepathy. "I'm using magic for this so don't question it too much okay?"
Nat went upto the frantic girl and said, "I'm sorry for not waiting for you to wake. But I have to get stronger to protect you. To do that I have to leave and train. My leaving you here was to keep you safe. Now go apologize to Loona for annoying her."
Margret walked up to Loona and said, "I am sorry for annoying you Miss Loona."
"CUTE!" Margret shouted and ran up to Dakota & Dorumon to grab and hugged the digimon.
Dorumon giggled as nuzzled the human girl. "Who are you?" Dorumon asked as the Girl's digivice linked with Dorumon marking the artificial being as her digimon like Nat was. The Digivice was a fusion loader so Margret was able to have many partners with Nat being her first.
"I'm Margret." The little girl said. "We're going to be best friends."
Nat noticed the digivice hanging off the belt of Margret's sun dress and asked, "What: is that thing?"
"The same thing as this" Dakota said as he pulled out hin own digivice "just a different model."
"And what's it's purpose?" Nat asked. "Remember I'm not even a day old. I…"
Unknown to them, a crow-like creature perched on a root sticking out of a cliff face. It had oilly feathers, beak and talons coated in blood and a single large eye. The camera zooms in on the eye until the images of Dakota, Nat, Marget and Dorumon could be seen reflected on it.
The scene zooms out revealing a crystal orb sitting on an organic stand in a room that's a combination of stone and organic… stuff. The scene stops zooming out to show Mundus on his throne looking at the image. He growled at the sight of Margret, the digivice, and Nat. "She has digivolved meaning I can't influence her and that means the spawn of Sparta might turn her into a weapon against me. Normally I wouldn't be upset but Experiment X952 escaped before I could implant a kill switch." *Sigh* "Wotan!" He shouted. A DarkLeomon in Roman armor. Mundus highlights Nat & Margret, then says, "Find them and bring them to me. If they resist, convince them. Bring them back alive at all costs." Wotan slammed fist against his chest then teleported out of the room. Mundus steeples his fingers and settled down to watch before sending out more eyecrows.
Scene dissolves to show a huge tree the resembles a withered Yggdrasil. Moments later a huge flock of black birds fly out of it and head off in different directions.
Scene shifts back to the temple entrance and we see Nat looking at Margret's digivice. "So with this in Margret's possession, me & Dorumon can if we need to digivolve in to stronger forms." Suddenly Nat stands up, thirsts one arm, the bracer on it goes into battle mode rotating one place and a tiny missile is shot. It flies up and strikes the eyebrow, destroying in a small fireball.
"Caught that did you?" Dakota said as he flicked a rock in a random direction the rock smashed into another beast which exploded. "Drazil has been watching us since we entered."
"That wasn't a Digimon." Nat commented. "Something about it felt… out of place. Foul. Like an infection. Or a virus."
"There are virus type Digimon one that was born directly of a virus infecting it." Dakota said. "Although I wouldn't put past Mundus to be monitoring us as well considering what you told me."
Nat nodded and led Margret back into the temple. But before they could cross the threshold, "Your Father demands you return to him." A gruff voice called out.
"What does my 'Father' want with me?" Nat replied with suspicion.
"He wants to examine you to find out why you alone survived and you 19 siblings parished."
"You mean vivisect me to find out." Nat countered. "Sorry. No dice."
Nat got in a fighting stance as a translucent geodesic dome built itself around the pair. Battlefield music from Naruto began to play. "I made a promise to look after someone and Mundus' way of finding out involves getting directed which would interfere with keeping that promise."
The DarkLeomon slammed his hands together. "Lord Mundus wants you and the human alive. He never said unharmed and intact." He said before lunging at Nat.
Moving fast as she was able dodged his blows. She dodged most of them but was still hit.
Seeing Nat hurt made both Dakota and Dorumon pissed "METAL CANNON!!!" The purple dragon shouted as it spat out balls of iron as sepressing fire as Dakota rushed in slamming his bare fist into the DarkLeomon's face sending the beastman flying out of the temple. This action caused a aura of purple and blackish aura of 1's and 0's engulf Dakota's fists.
"Protect Margaret little one, I've got a DNA charge to use." Dakota said as he stepped out into the open. "Loona protect Nat this fucker is MINE!!!!! " The last world having a demonic distortion and Dakota's pupils turned to slits hinting at his true nature.
Nat struggled to her feet. "I… can… still… fight." She said before
Wotan rushed at Dakota his sword drawn in a reverse grip slashing at the human hybrid who met each attack with his fists blocking or parrying the blade with only the energy in his hands. "nat you hav a little one to protect that means it's Dad's job to hunt and kill those who threaten his girls." Dakota said with Margert taking notice of his wording.
"Papa?" the little Girl asked.
"My orders were to bring the girl and rabbit to my master by any means necessary." WOtan said as code surrounded him. "even if means my death!" the code shell broke revealing Wotan at his strongest "Wotan Applomon Whispered!!!!!"
Back at Mundus' Qliphoth he saw Wotan warp to his Mega level. "Good use the power i've gifted you but know if you fail this will be your undeath Wotan"
"So you're the dark god of the sun" Dakota said, not intimidated by the evolution. "That just means i don't need to hold back as much." With that his DNA charge spread from his fists to cover his body and his hair began standing up from the current.
"even a dna charge like yours won't harm me human!!!" Wotan said as he raised his right hand a orb of black energy forming in his palm "WHISPERING ARROW!!!" He shouted out firing continuos arrow sharpped bolts of power from the orb at Dakota who was weaving through the attacks as if he was smoke.
"I'm no human I'm the descendant of Drazil's Dark Knight!!!" Dakota said as he punched the ground, red flames surging to Wotan from the strike burning the Mega with El Evangelio's living fire as he pulled a weapon form the earth itself.
"Let's dance ugly." he said branishing the GeoGreySword.
Margret's digivice began to emit a whine and a disembodied voice said, " Natalia, the Black rabbit digivolve into Ninjabunny." Standing in Nat's place was a rabbit in cased in black armor that looked like the Ironman armor merged with the Ironspider suit w/ golden bracers. She held out her hand and a hilt was ejected into it and a blade of energy appeared.
"you look good but hold i'm pretty sure this is him desprate" Dakota said as El Evangelio died down revealing Wotan smoking and on one knee. "Besides a Champion isn't enough for a Mega whereas i'm using a weapon of a mega and my own DNA charge to enhance my attacks."
"I won't lose to a rabbit and a mere Human!!!!" the mega shout as he rushed the two "throwing solar infused punches at them which Dakota was blocking with the GeoGreySword using it's Large center as a shield.
"You weren't listening!" Dakota shouted as he pushed the Mega away before taking the twinbladed GeoGreySword and spining it arround rapidly making the weapon blur into a golden saw while El Evangelio gathered arround it. "I'm no human, I'm the demon Lord of Gluttony reborn!!! GeoGreyboomerang!!!!" He shouted as he threw the spinning weapon at Wotan using El Evangelio as a flaming leash to burn and cut the mega.
" PLASMASTARFIRESTORM! " Ninjabunny shouted. Her bracers moved so they were around the digimon champion's fists then began to spin around before releasing a storm of shrunken, made of unstable plasma. The stars explode on impact. The Applomon Whispered staggered back with each detonation. He roared in pain as one was blown off. He was backed into the dome and was jolted by the trap within the dome meant to stun Nat & Margret. With the trap tripped the dome dissolved into pixel dust. The plasma shuriken continued for thirty seconds more before Ninjabunny's bracers stopped spinning and moved back to their default position. Ninjabunny fell to her knees before falling to her face. Digital dust flew off her leaving Natalia laying there.
Wotan stood there covered in soot and missing one arm. "Impossible." Was the last thing he said before falling first to his knees the on his face. A portal opened under him with him sinking into it. After the portal disappeared leaving the group standing there. Genai jogged to Nat and check her. "She's just exhausted from using that finisher. After a few hours rest and a good meal she'll be as good as new"
"Nat!" Dakota said as he conectrated his DNA Charge into her healing her with the excess power. "you du-" he started to say Before Wotan appeared and kicked the human into a wall, while cracking the Geogreysword in two from the raw strength of to blow since Dakota had reflexivly used it as a sheild.
"I told you I would do what it takes to have them even feigning retreat to bring your guard down." The mega said as he grabbed Margret and Nat flinging Loona Genai and Dorumon away. "You are right human this form is one of last resort. If I lose here, I die. So I won't lose!"
Dakota embedded in the temple wall chuckled. "So I just have to run out the clock," as he said this his DNA charge emerged again this time thicker obscuring his form so that only two glowing red eyes could be seen, then a third golden eye opened on Dakota's forehead. " I can do that. " with that a black and purple streak slamed into Wotan causing him to drop Nat and Margret while an orange figure caught them.
"Kitty" Margret said to the new digimon who carried the two in her paws.
"MY, MY, old friend you've returned angry." the figure said purring slightly. "this one must be bringing you such pain."
With the two fighters the streak that slammed into Wotan resolved into Dakota wearing the gilgamesh gauntletsand grieves his right foot in the chest of Wotan before they separated miles away for the others in the desert behind the temple. "now I can go to work without hurting Margret." Dakota said as he landed on one foot the devil arm fading.
"So you weren't lying young Sparda, those three eyes and that weapon prove it," Wotan said bowing to Dakota. "it is an hounor to fight the descendant to the gluttonous traitor."
"Yeah been holding back since old pinapplehead might science my power and think i'm his old friend returned to this world." Dakota said with a cocky grin that morphed into a serious scowl. "But at this point I'd take that awkwardness over your master's bullshit anytime."
With that Dakota punched the ground once more this time with both hands, Wotan expecting this moved out of the way of the erupting fire and into the slash of the GeoGrey twinblades. "Marcus was a bit of a meathead since he never realized this thing had two forms, if the fused form breaks take it apart and duel wield it!"
Nat woke up and looked around looking for Wotan. "Where's Wotan?!" She asked, "I got to finish him." There was venom in her voice. She took a step forward and stumbled.
"You aren't going anywhere Miss you're practically out of energy, I'm surprised you haven't devolved to your rookie level considering you're a partner Digimon," the 13-foot-tall cat woman Meicrackmon said while Genai was glaring at her. "Although you do remind me of a certain rookie who had the stature of a small champion."
"Miss Mei, can you tell me more about Papa?" Margret asked while sitting in Meicrackmon's lap.
"What demon boy?" Meicrackmon said, "I've known him for a long while but to do what you ask I have to reveal the legend of Sparda."
Back at the fight, Wotan was dodging the swings of the GeoGreysword, which Dakota had enhanced with his DNA charge, the Mega level weaving around the attacks of the equally powerful weapon. Dakota's DNA charge now seems to take on the silhouette of a taller creature around the height of Mei which included his wings and a tail of sorts as he moved.
"The digital world once was held in the grip of seven demon Lords who lived in the dark area. These seven were digital beings that represented the seven deadly sins of humanity and were rumored to be the true masters of the sins in the underworld." Mei said as Dakota got one swing particularly close to Wotan almost scratching his chest with the tip of one of his two blades as the Mega fired off another barrage of Whispering Arrows making Dakota increase his speed to the point where it looked like he was teleporting between the shots.
"The Royal knights were not able to respond to this due to a greater threat that I was once a part of," Mei said with a small grimace on her face. "So the digital world had fallen to chaos but then by a mere coincidence, a digital gate opened to a new human realm your world which at the time 2,000 years ago was experiencing a great upheaval of demons of their own. The demon Lord of gluttony Beelzemon saw this world and wanted it for himself for he is gluttonous in a literal and figurative sense wanting to consume good food and learn great knowledge. Upon crossing through the barrier he saw something that reminded him of a time before his rise to Demon Lord back when he was a partner to two humans." Mei said as Wotan was able to shoot one of the GeoGreysword halves out of Dakota's left hand, the human demon Digimon hybrid just simply reached behind his back pulling out a twin barrel red shotgun.
"You fucked up now DOUBLE IMPACT!!!!" Dakota shouted shooting out twin slugs from his shotgun slamming into Wotan's chest.
"While he was a Demon Lord, Beelzemon had never given up his better nature. He never truly wanted to do what he did as a demon Lord and actually helped Digimon using his title as the Demon Lord of gluttony as a sort of shield basically protecting as many Digimon as he could from the whims of the others reminded of the experiences he had in the human world." Mei said giving a small bit of context to Margaret the show that Beelzemon was always good. "So when he saw a demon fighting against other demons in the human world he jumped into action and began to fight by his side using his own twin shotguns in tandem with the Demon Knight's blade to fend off his enemies, it is unknown if this was what inspired Sparda to later on use firearms of his own or if it was something he had already thought of and just upgraded from the technology of his era to technology of the digital age when he could." The cat woman giggled at the thought. "After the battle was over the Demon Knight introduced himself as Sparda the former right hand of the Demon King Mundus whom had opened the digital gate unintentionally by opening the gate to the demon realm; this happened since the dark area the home of the Demon Lords was so similar to the underworld breaking through the dimensional barrier cause both to merge in a way. Sparda had recently seen the good in humanity and wanted to defend it with his very being. Beelzemon, having gone through something similar in his own past decided that he would partner up with this demon who had awoken to Justice. So Sparda gained a digivice similar to what Beelzemon's old partners had. With the added power that a digivice could give a digimon both Beelzemon and Sparda took the fight to the demons defeating them in your world but they retreated to our world and created a Qphiloth in the dark area. One that wouldn't be able to produce a fruit as quickly since it did not have the necessary blood from humans to grow." Mei said before slightly dropping the subject after seeing Margaret's face at the mention of the word blood. "After being sealed away the Demon King retreated to his own realm to gain strength and 2,000 years later he tried for your human world once again and was sealed away by the direct son of Sparda Dante. This time he fell through his realm and to the Qphloth he had planted in the dark area. Time passes far quicker in the digital world so while it had only been 2,000 years in your world since he was sealed away in the demon realm it had been over a million in our world meaning that the tree was ready to bear fruit once more it will soon create a fruit so concentrated with pure power even more so than the normal fruit of a Qphloth that it would bring him back to full strength and then some luckily the dark area exists in the old digital world the world we are in now is one where chosen Digimon and those strong enough to survive, live. It is unlikely that Mundus can reach this world. Not unless he has a Digimon strong enough to help him cross from the dark area to this world."
Suddenly a giant purple orb of digital energy appeared in the distance and the group could hear the words "LAMENTING SUN!!!!" The orb of energy slammed down onto the ground causing a gigantic mushroom cloud and two streaks of dust came flying back towards them the first one to land was Wotan now displayed a wilder look with a purple base coat and a raggedy mane.
Dakota landed soon after, his DNA charge gone along with his shotgun and GeoGreysword though he still kept his wings and third eye. "You don't ever hurt my daughter you bastard." He said giving the now undead Lion Digimon a good kick in the side.
"PAPA!" Margaret shouted scrambling out of Mei's lap Loona and Genai also walked up to observe Margaret wrapping her arms around Dakota's legs. "Miss Mei here told me about your family."
"Mei?!" He shouted, finally noticing the orange cat woman. "How many times have I told you we're not like that Mei!"
"You'll be mine someday you know that!" The orange cat woman said as she walked up and gave Dakota a hug. "Look I don't really care but I know you enjoy my hugs and cuddles and I worry about you. I was once evil due to infection. I'm cured! You don't have to worry about that." Mei said just quietly that Dakota Nat and Loona were able to hear thanks to their enhanced senses. "Tell me the next time you plan to visit you butt!"
"Thanks for keeping it PG," Dakota said, being muffled by her fur.
"What's with the hellhound?" Mei asked "I can tell she's friendly enough because she isn't ripping your throat out but it's still odd seeing normal demons here."
Nat looked at Meicrackmon and then got up and pulled the larger Digimon away from Dakota, Mei stumbled back, literally landing on her tail, Nat stood between them and said, "Stay away from Dakota furball. My kitten[footnoteRef:0] claimed as her new father which means as I'm her adopted mother he's mine!" [0: Baby rabbits are known as kittens.]
What Nat had yet to realize was that Digimon tended to have multiple partners due to the fact that they were all naturally hermaphrodites. "So cute that you can think of human sensibilities but hun," Mei wrapped her arms around Nat hugging her tightly. "We don't work that way."
"She said she was just recently born, don't judge her for not knowing about the whole thing with you and I and herself." Dakota said uncomfortable with the fact that he was even thinking about it not due to the human sensibilities that he had let go of hundreds of years ago from his perspective. But due to the fact that he didn't want Margaret to think it was normal even though it was even for humans.
"Papa, why do you have three eyes?" Margaret asked, looking at her adoptive father in awe, seeing his third demonic eye in his forehead.
"You see, like Mama Nat, I am part Digimon and Demon." Dakota said as Nat was struggling in Mei arms now having been turned around so that Mei was carrying her like a kitten. "My third eye is like my wings, a part of my Digimon nature. Keeping it around allows me to see better and gives me more strength." Dakota thought of something in the moment and then materialized an old weapon of Dante's, you see while Dante usually sold off his devil arms after a mission Dakota would buy them up since he had access to his family's fortune unlike Dante, who didn't even realize Sparda had a fortune and Virgil who was a person non grata due to being labeled a terrorist for the longest time. "These are for you, they're a powerful tool that will help you to defend yourself but they're also very fun toys," Dakota said as he handed Margaret a set of four yoyos.
"PUT! ME! DOWN!" Nat shouted trying unsuccessfully to get out of Mei's grip for a few more seconds before slumping and saying, " This is humiliating."
"These yoyos are the soul of an old enemy turned ally called Phantom the shoes allow you to skate using the yoyos as wheels," Dakota said as Margret slowly used the skates to move around. " the wrist yoyos work like normal yoyos and can be small shields!"
"AY don't be giving me to your adopted spawn!" A British voice said as a tiny white and orange spider said as it appeared on Margret's shoulder. "i agreed to be a devil arm because Dante whupped me so much i got weakened."
"Phantom you better behave, Otherwise I'll get Bayonetta on you. You know you don't want to deal with your cousin do you?" Dakota said, his golden eye glowing for a second.
"A little help here!" Nat called out from Mei's arms.
Mei just began purring before she said. "Let him have this he's trying to bond with her, can't you see that?" Nat then noticed the joy on Margret's face as she rolled around while petting Phantom gently the lava spider/scorpion gumbling but enjoying the attention covertly.
" Sigh. I do." She says. "But if he bites, stings, or burns her, he's paste then digidust."
"He can't do anything Nat," Dakota said as he walked up along with Dorumon."His body is the weapon that he bonded to Magret to protect her himself he's just tsundere because of his cousin. He will be here first demon contract as an Umbrian Witch. Meaning she has complete control over him as long as he lends her his power."
"My comment stands." She sasys before struggling and shouting, "NOW! PUT! ME! DOWN!"
"No, you need cuddles to relax," Mei said as she sat down on the ground cross legged placing Nat in her lap still hugging her. "You just went through a life-and-death experience and unlocked an evolution, you need to relax and recharge literally."
Nat slowly stopped struggling and yawned. She was feeling tired from both her evolution and the plasmastarfirestorm. "But… Margret… needs… me… to… defend… her." she tiredly said. her eyes slowly descending. Eventually she fell asleep.
"Let her sleep." Dakota said as Margaret tried to skate over and show Nat the new toys she had. "If Nat was awake I would say that to lessen the load on protecting you is why I gave you Phantom in the first place. That way Nat doesn't have to defend you all the time, sure the yo-yos are toys, but they're also weapons themselves. Using them as shields and skates is the thing I want you to do for now until you learn to release their bladed form. Learning that will take some time in practice specifically because they'll be dull to the point where you won't hurt yourself at first, but later on once you get skilled with them you'll be able to use them to defend yourself."
Nodding and asked, "Why did Miss Nat change forms then change back after attacking the bad kittyman?" Using all the innocence only a child of her age could muster.
"She did it to protect you, the ability uses up a lot of energy." Dakota explained "So much energy that it is hard to stay in that form forever without a constant source of food since it's something that she will have to grow into."
"And she's still failed." The now conscious Wotan said as he started to fade away. "Well my main mission was to capture the girl in the rabbit at all costs. I decided to also collect data on your fighting capabilities now we know how strong you are currently and trust me when we'll be back we'll be back stronger than you! "
At that he turned into a digimist and disappeared, laughing evilly. Margret hid her face against Dakota's leg shivering in fear. A few hours later, Nat woke up inside the temple.
