He could hear the water dripping like how rain dew falls after it rains.
Hearing it splash, almost like trees falling with grace and beauty.
He could feel the ripples they made, reminding him of gentle lightning coursing through his vain.
How warm the water felt, like the comforting heat of a fire against his body.
How solid and confident as he walked, like the earth was leading him.
How the air held him, like spirit's walking alongside him.
He had no idea where he was or how he got here, but he knew it was safe where he was at and as he walked down the path in front of him. He had no idea how long he's been here, how long he has been walking or how far he has gone. It seemed he finally reached the end when seeing a bright white light in front of him.
"Maybe I died." He said as he walked through the light, only to see that he didn't die but walked into a dome shaped room. The dull grey walls were the same ones he walked past on his way and the lighting was slightly brighter than the hall he just existed from. The water that covered the ground was now thin and hollow, no drip of water falling or splashing either.
It was when he settled his eyes back to the front and saw long, thick bars that connected to the ground and what he assumed to be the roof. It was pitch black inside but he could hear what sounded like snoring, a deep and powerful snore before getting quiet. Taking caution, he slowly started to make his way closer to the bars and that was when he could feel it.
A breeze maybe?
Was his first thought when he felt whatever it was blowing past him. But it wouldn't smell like an animal...right? Not unless there was more than one like a group, but he could only sense one and only hear one. That was when he saw it in the pitch blackness of the cage and it stared right at him.
They were golden like star dust with a touch of fire red, a black slit for a pupil. He found himself staring into beautiful golden red eyes and them into his deep and dark blue eyes. They stared into each other's eyes in silence for what felt like hours, the boy forgetting everything around until he felt a rumbling.
The ground shook and he could see the eyes rise up and up into the sky above them, now realizing that the eyes he had been staring in weren't human size but as big as his upper body. He could see fur as red as a blood moon and a body bigger than the Hokage Mountain- which was the biggest structure in the Konohagakure no Sato -the Hidden Leaf Village or Konoha for short. Fur pointed ears along with four giant pars and nine swirling tails.
His eyes widened when he realized who, better yet, what, stood in front of him. It was the creature that everyone thought had died that October day. Where a festival was created in its death and the people who died and sacrificed their lives that day. The creature that single handedly destroyed almost a quarter of the village in just a few short minutes, and the cause for the Yondaime Hokage to die an early death upon its defeat.
So here they stood; a child who was no older than ten and in front of him behind bars was the Kyuubi no Kitsune in all its powerful glory… staring each other in the eyes without so much as a word or sound echoing in the dome shaped room. It wasn't until the fox let out a chuckle that he let out a breath of relief.
"You're quite different from others, you know that." It's voice was deep and powerful, but no ill extent in the way it spoke or looked at the child. "I could say the same for you, we all thought you had died," he restored, not all meaning for it to be offensive, just to level the playing field.
The Fox let out another chuckle, before laying down and placing its head on its front paws. "What is your name child?"
"Uzumaki Naruto."
"So you're the offspring of those two, no wonder your blond hair and blue eyes reminded me of them. I am Kyuubi no Kitsune, the strongest Bijū alive!" Naruto felt his heart stop upon hearing what Kyuubi said, "You know my parents?"
The Fox looked at him perplexed, did he not care he was in front of the most powerful demon in existence. "Have they not told you your parents? How about your godfather or uncle?" Kyuubi didn't understand. Was he not informed of his legacy he was supposed to live on by?
"I was told I never had parents or that they never loved me! As for any other relatives, I'm mostly hated by the general public except for three or four people!" If the Kyuubi knew who his parents were -and it seemed they were a pretty big deal- did that mean everyone had lied to him? Did everyone know but him? But what if no one knew? The only person he could think of knowing was his Jiji, the Hokage. So did that mean he lied to him all this time? Even after all the pain and loneliness he felt, he lied to his face!? Did he lie while looking into his eyes and say he didn't know!?
"You know who my parents are, can you please tell me!? I'll do anything!" Naruto begged, knees on the ground with his forehead touching the watery ground. The Kyuubi could see how desperate he was, and while the Fox could request Naruto rip the seal, it didn't feel right. Not that it had anything against killing innocent children as many had died because of the Bijū's anger, but because it was more of a feeling and those rarely happen to the fox.
'Not like I got anything to lose.' In a bright flash of light, Naruto had picked his head up and his jaw almost fell from his socket. Standing in front of him was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and blondie had seen many and many pretty women but nothing like her.
Red hair that flowed down to her mid back and those golden red eyes he thought were beautiful when he first saw them. How her porcelain skin shined in the small amount of light in the room and how her body was muscular but also soft on the eyes. Her ample C-cup breast stood firm and strong and her hips gave a nice curvy bounce. With a firm and big butt and legs that looked just as muscular as it was smooth, Naruto would have thought she was a Goddess.
Kyuubi giggled at Naruto's stund expression, glad she still looked like she was no older than a few thousand years old. "I'll take your expression that I look fine then?" Which snapped him out of his staring, blushing in embarrassment.
She let out another sound of laughter.
"Come here Naruto-kun, I shall tell you what you should have rightfully been told, but was wronged by your people." She watched as he got up and made his way past the bars and stopped only a few feet in front of her, not at all worried that she could easily crush him with a quick transformation into her giant fox form.
Then she began from the beginning, starting with his initial question. "I think it'll be best to start with your parents, and then we can move on to the others." Taking a minute to organize her thoughts she began. "Your mother was Uzumaki Kushina, also known as 'The Red Death'. Your father was the Yondaime Hokage, Namikaze Minato, one of the fastest and most deadly shinobi to live by humans."
Kyuubi expected a reaction, mainly raging from anger or happiness, even sadness. But what she got was a blank face with eyes of blue fury, but the overwhelming feeling of betrayal that she could feel was more than what she had thought. Maybe he was off worse than she thought.
He had said he was hated by the majority of everyone but there had to be more. Her last two jailers were highly respected and were treated like the shinobi they were: respected, feared and awed. While the boy in front of her was no shinobi -and wrongly forbidden the knowledge of his parents- he had reason to be hated unless…
No, she didn't even want to think they knew or had any idea.
Naruto didn't know what to feel about what he had just been told. He was the son of the Fourth Hokage and one of the most feared and inspirational kunoichi in the Leaf.
By all right he was of royal blood!
Even if he was pissed at the villagers he knew they wouldn't have been told, as his father had many, many enemies in other Hidden Village's. The Hokage? He couldn't describe the amount of anger and betrayal he felt for the old man he saw as his grandfather.
He had given him his first real home in the Red-Light District. Had helped him enter the academy with teachers who wouldn't teach him hardly anything. Would spend a few hours once a month eating ramen where he explained the meaning of the hat he wore and his responsibility which led him to his dream in life…
Was he being used?
The Hokage would know a hundred percent about his parents and their clans. He would know how powerful they were and if they had a child, the child would be extraordinary. And one that would be highly respected in high places.
Was it because he had such a background that he was never told? Because of his father and mother's enemies?
Then he remembered Kyuubi saying she knew more about him and his background.
But could he trust her? She had not shown any hostility towards him and he couldn't feel anything negative either. What he knew was what she had told him who his parents were. So maybe she could be trusted.
He would have to find out more later.
Focusing on her again, he asked for everything she knew about him. "You said 'others', did that mean you know more?"
She nodded her head. "I don't know much about what happened to you during the years, but you aren't my first jailer but my third. The first was your great great grandmother, Uzumaki Mito, wife of the Shodai Hokage, Senju Hashirama. Your mother was my second."
He was not only related to the Red Death but also a distant relative of the first Hokage? He may not have known much about anything, but he had studied up on the past Hokage and to know he was related to such an important figure to the village. Man did the village and everyone screwed him over big time.
Kyuubi waited for him to finish his thoughts patiently, not in any real hurry as time flew much, much slower where they were at. While he was busy digesting what she told him, she herself went into her own thoughts. And one out of the many questions she had stood out the most-
Why tell him anything?
She could manipulate him to do her bidding until she found a way to escape, which didn't sound too bad. The only problem is she didn't know if he would tell anyone about what he had heard and about her existence. Especially to the Hokage who she no doubt would convince the boy to not listen to a word she said. Could she do something to make him stay quiet?
Maybe. But she didn't know how at the moment.
But there was another idea. One she would have never would have thought about if she didn't get the feeling something was different about the boy in front of her. She felt it, -thought it was small, like it lingered in the air- the anger and sadness a few times. Then she not only felt it but she saw it.
The fury in his eyes and the feeling of betrayal. She could see it like the seal that kept her behind bars inside him. She could use that, oh, could she use those emotions.
She could train in and teach him everything she knew. Make him into something worse than any demon -except herself of course- in the world. Which seemed easy. More so than manipulating him, and more fun too.
But she needs his trust. That in itself would be hard. She needed to be truthful for the most part and tell him that she wanted to train him but leave out the true meaning of it all. Ya, she could do this.
Focusing back on Naruto, she could see him finally finish processing the new information he was just told. "I'm a distant relative of the First Hokage and his wife…" she heard him mumble before he snapped out of it and looked back at the woman in front of him. A look in his eyes that screamed to know more, something the Kyuubi woman had no problem with doing.
"I don't know much about theu Senju, I know quite a lot of the Uzumaki clan. The clan in which you are of noble blood, since your mother was the princess and was supposed to be next in line. But the clan was destroyed and not many were able to escape.
The Uzumaki clan was born in the Land of Whirlpools also known as Uzushiogakure, due to the village being surrounded by dangerous and unpredictable whirlpools. They were both feared and respected for their many feats, mainly in the art of fūinjutsu. To a lesser extent in their ability to process a massive amount of chakra that far surpassed human levels and their longevity, which made them able to live hundreds of years old and to survive many deadly diseases that would have killed any normal human."
She waited to let him process what was just said, not wanting to overload him and confuse him or in case he forgot. After a few minutes she continued, Naruto looking straight at her.
"Besides the ability to use fūinjutsu, having longevity and massive chakra reserves, the Uzumaki clan- mainly the royal side -were able to manifest chains made of their chakra. It varies from person to person but they are very hard to master. I only know two people who were able to use them; Uzumaki Mito, who was able to use them when first having me sealed; the other was your mother, who used in conjecture with her sword style and seals.
But like I said, they were feared, and so they were attacked by Iwagakure and Kumogakure. Their forces were thousands of more than what the Uzumaki had, but nearly ninety percent of their army were killed in the end. While they had succeeded in destroying Uzushiogakure they also lost during the second Shinobi World War.
It was also a few weeks after Kushina arrived at Konoha."
Pride. Anger. Sadness. But no revenge in his eyes by what she could see. Pride because they needed more than one Hidden Village to defeat Uzu; that his people didn't go without a fight. Anger at the fact they destroyed his home land and sadness because there are so little left, scattered in the wind.
"They must have been real stubborn people to have taken out so many…" Naruto said, wiping a tear that escaped one of his eyes.
Kyuubi chuckled at that. "Stubborn doesn't even describe them. The two Uzumaki I knew were so headstrong that it was like you were talking to a mountain." They both shared a laugh at that with Naruto rubbing the back of his neck.
Calming down, they were both ready.
"Why don't we sit down, it'll be better cause you'll be here for a while." Naruto moved a bit closer and sat in front of her followed by Kyuubi.
"Now before we continue, there's something you need to know and understand. You are a Jinchuūriki, a human sacrifice. I am currently sealed within you and the place we are at is your subconscious, your mindscape. I am part of the reason you said the majority of people in the village hate you and for that I am truly sorry.
The night you were born I was being controlled by a powerful genjutsu and was forced to attack. It wasn't until I was freed from the genjutsu that I realized that I was going to be sealed again so I attacked. I tried to stab you but your parents jumped in the way and saved you. In the end I was sealed inside you and apparently your life went straight to hell."
She was expecting him to be pissed. Lash out on her and tell the Hokage everything that just happened. Who wouldn't?
But a chuckle was the response. It grew slightly louder to where it echoed in the cage and down the halls.
"I do not blame you Kyu, a little mad you took my family away, but if what you said was true then it wasn't your fault. You were confused and had every right to retaliate, and you're already being punished for it by having been sealed inside of me. But hey, maybe there was a reason for you being stuck here- a purpose for us meeting, something we are not seeing.
Or a coincidence that everything happened, who knows." Naruto suggested, shrugging his shoulders, causing her to laugh.
What was with this child and why is it that he's different from the others? "May I ask you a question, Naruto?"
"Shoot."
"What exactly do you experience out there?" Was that a flinch she saw!? 'Maybe not the smartest question to ask.'
"I…"
Hataka Kakashi is known to be very easy going and laid back, not willing to put extra effort into things that don't need him to. He was three hours late for everything unless it was of the utmost importance and even then he would be a few minutes late. He was normally seen nose deep in a small orange book, giggling perversely on purpose and unintentionally.
So when a few shinobi who were on the night shift saw him speed through the roofs and streets, they were surprised and a little worried. What could have gotten Hataka Kakashi to do a mad dash through the village this late in the night when none of the portals were notified.
There were only three things in this world that could make this man run through heaven and hell; if the village was under attack; if Uzumaki Kushina was pissed; or if the only child of two legendary shinobi was missing. And only one was plausible at the moment- Naruto missing.
He had sent his personal summoning ninken to search for the young blond boy and it wasn't good news. Blood was never good news. And it didn't help that he was all the way on the other side of the village.
He ran as fast as his legs could, pumping as much chakra as he could without overflowing them. It took him ten minutes to find the badly wounded blond and to hear he was in a puddle of his own blood was nothing compared to seeing it in person, especially for an ANBU commander.
It was different. He had made it a priority to be one of Naruto's ANBU guards and he was one of the best and brightest there was. So how did they do this to him without him noticing? And how did he get over to the other side of the village when the red light district was very far from the more rich and prosperous side of the village?
Shaking his head, he walked in the secluded ally and his lone eye widened at the sight. This was no longer a side street. It was a place of blood and disgust, a place that looked like hell.
At the very end of the dead end secluded alleyway wall hanged the blond-haired boy Naruto; kunai stuck through his hands and feet, spread apart in an 'X'. But he was no longer blond, but almost every inch of him was covered in deep dark red blood- as well as the surrounding area.
Kakashi ran up to him and ripped out the four kunai, catching him in his arms and making a mad dash to the one place that would and could heal up the boy.
It wasn't at the hospital.
~~~~~~~~~
It was almost three in the morning, and she wasn't expecting any guests at this hour. But when she heard the banging sound on her door and saw Kakashi holding a bloody blond, she quickly rushed them in and started healing and cleaning Naruto.
"I have no idea, Taji. I was following him as he exited the academy and I even saw him enter his apartment after I made sure it was cleared of any unexpected individuals. I did find it odd that he didn't leave to go and get some ramen and how unusually quiet it was. When I peeked through the window to see what he was doing he was gone, no trace of him or anyone leaving."
That was when he started to realise something that has or more as hasn't happened in the last couple weeks. "I noticed that the villagers stopped doing this for the past few weeks and assumed that got the message with how many went to spend time with Anko."
Taji just nodded her head before telling him that Naruro shouldn't wake up for a few more hours and that he should get some rest. Kakashi agreed since he had a mission in a few hours and getting what sleep he could get was a good idea. Casting a glance at the sleeping form of Naruto on the couch, he headed for the guest room on the second floor.
'Those CUNT SUCKING BASTARDS! How dare they do that to a child!' Yeah, Kyuubi was not delighted in the slightest at what they did to her container. This is why the Fox demon spirit hates the majority of humanity, as they were the true demons of hell. She may not have liked being sealed and trapped inside someone, but because of a promise she would never harm her containers too badly. She already messes up their chakra control and refuses to let them use her powers willingly.
Because of everything he had said, she had pulled him into a hug and seeing how nervous and unsure he was about hugging back didn't lessen her any. She was still glad that Naruto slowly hugged her back before crying into her chest. It went on for what felt like hours with him shouting "it wasn't fair!" and "that it was your fault!"
Once he was done crying, the ten year old blonde tried to pull away only for the thousand year old spirit to hug him harder. She didn't know why but she didn't want him to let go, to leave and suffer… to leave her alone in the dark cage. "Just a little longer? Please." Naruto didn't have the heart so he hugged her harder.
When Naruto opened his eyes, he was no longer with Kyuubi, but in his bed under the covers. 'What happened last night. I remember coming home then-'
"Aaaahhhh!" He clutched his head as memories of yesterday rushed in. Painful memories…
"Please!... "
"Murder!"
"I didn't do anything!..."
"Monster!"
"Demon!"
Ple- AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"
"DEVIL SPAWN!!"
"…" letting his head go, the young ten year old boy balled his fist as he remembered everything from last night. "I'll make them pay! I'll show them what a true devil is!" His eyes flashing red to blue.
Whelp there you have it, chapter one. I wasn't really sure how I wanted to end this since there were a few ways I wanted it to end.
Naruto just started the ninja academy at ten years old and will graduate at age fifteen.
This chapter was pretty mellow and it'll be like that for another couple chapters before everything gets dark.
Chapters will be here and there, so be on the lookout if reading.
