Hey, everybody. At long last, I'm going to be starting my Terran Alliance story covering the sequel trilogy. I decided to upload this a bit earlier than I planned, especially since school has started now.
Now, while I'll be keeping most of the events of the Force Awakens, I'll be pretty much throwing out The Last Jedi completely, and only certain elements of The Rise of Skywalker will be included. I'll also only be slowly revealing stuff that has gone on in the years since the end of The Jedi and the Hammer Squadron. I promise I'm gonna try and make everything make sense more than the movies did. I'll also not be really showing the events of The Force Awakens until about Chapter 10. I'm gonna start out a bit slow and kind of ease people into it and start explaining some of what's happened off screen.
Now, I'm still working on planning the last part of the story, but I have most of it planned, so I'm gonna start writing. Also, this will be the longest fanfiction I've ever attempted, as I can guarantee it will surpass The Terran Alliance Strikes Back.
Also, I decided to do something I haven't done yet. I'm going to start this story with an intro crawl, just like the movies. Just wanted to do something fun.
Alright. Let's at last begin.
Chapter 1
Star Wars: Return of the Terran Alliance
It's been 30 years since the fall of the Empire, and now, Luke Skywalker has disappeared. In his absence, the sinister First order has risen from the ashes of former Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the hope of the Jedi, has been destroyed, and they can assume their dominance over the galaxy.
As the First Order gains power, so does the powerful Terran Alliance. Though embroiled in their own conflict back home, the Terrans brace themselves for war with the First Order, while supporting a brave Resistance, led by General Leia Organa, sister of Luke Skywalker. Leia is desperate to find her brother and gain his help in restoring peace and justice to the galaxy.
As another war brews in the Andromeda Galaxy, and tensions rise between the New Republic and the Terran Alliance, the Terran Jedi try desperately to do what they can to make up for Luke's absence. And in the absence of her husband, Kelly Adams Skywalker tries to find her way as the darkness grows in power…
(February 27, 2049)
It's a relatively calm day on the east coast of the United States. Although it's February, the weather is relatively nice. A little chilly, but not overly so. The sky is almost totally clear, with only a few puffy clouds, and a brightly shining sun.
Outside DC, at Dulles International Airport, the airport is very busy. The airport is one of the busiest in America, and today is no different.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the airport, a Boeing 808 touches down on one of the runways. The large airliner, owned by British Airways, had just arrived from London Heathrow.
As the airliner taxies towards its gate, sitting in first class are two Jedi Masters, Jared Hansen and Miriam Walker, two members of the Jedi Council. For the last few weeks, they've been on a tour of Europe, meeting with government officials and looking for Force sensitive children, while also meeting with Jedi permanently stationed in Europe. They had visited many countries across the continent, including Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Spain, and Norway. They had finished the trip with a visit to the UK, spending a few days in Scotland at Jared's request, as Jared wanted to spend time in the land of his ancestors, and a meeting with King William V before finally flying home.
"Ah. Home at last," Jared says with a smile as the airliner pulls up to the gate.
"True that," Miriam says with a chuckle. Miriam, the very first Terran to become a Jedi, is now 61 years old and an accomplished Jedi Master. Although her age is showing a bit, she is still as capable as ever.
Jared looks up at the seatbelt sign. As soon as it turns off, Jared quickly gets up and retrieves his carry on from the overhead bin. He then hurries off the plane as soon as he can, Miriam behind him.
The two head down the jetway and into the terminal. The two head down to baggage claim. After about a ten minute wait down at baggage claim, the bags start coming onto the carousel. Jared and Miriam quickly retrieve their bags and head out of the terminal.
"You heading back to the Temple?" Miriam asks.
"Heck no. I'm home, and I'm going home before I come back to the Temple," Jared says with a laugh. Miriam joins him in laughing.
The two Jedi walk out to the parking lot, where they had parked their personal vehicles in the long-term parking lot before catching their flight to Europe weeks earlier.
Finding the spots where they parked their cars, Miriam goes to set her suitcases in the trunk of her car. Meanwhile, Jared tosses his suitcases in the back of his pickup truck. Jared then walks up to the back seat of his truck and opens the door. Then, he reaches back and pulls his robes off, throwing off his outer Jedi robes and tossing them into the back seat of the truck, leaving him in a set of jeans and a flannel shirt. He then kicks off his shoes into the backseat before pulling his cowboy boots out of the back seat and pulling them on. Finally, he pulls out his cowboy hat, tossing it up in the air and catching it before sliding it onto his head.
Jared turns to Miriam, who just shakes her head and chuckles. "I swear, you hate the robes more than any Jedi I know," she says.
"What can I say? I'm devoted to the Order, but I'll trade my robes for boots, jeans, and flannel anytime," Jared says.
"Alright. I'll see you back at the Temple later on. Give my best to Lacy and the kids," Miriam says.
"Will do. See you back at the Temple," Jared says. He then goes around to the driver's side and climbs into the driver's seat. Jared starts up his truck and pulls out of the parking lot, Miriam driving behind him.
The two make the drive out to West Virginia and into Jefferson County. Once they reach the town of Ranson, they separate as Jared turns off the main road to head towards his property, while Miriam continues up the road, heading for the Jedi Temple.
It's only a short time before Jared finally pulls up to a gate, with fences stretching out in both directions, enfencing a massive property. A sign next to the gate reads, "Hansen Dude Ranch."
Jared smiles as he opens the gate and then drives through. Jared had bought this property some time ago, and expanded it by buying up neighboring land over the years, eventually building it up until the property was about 300 acres, and he developed it into a fully functional ranch. He was able to raise all of the money for it not only with his government allowance as a Jedi, but also the income he got from the multiple books he had written over the years, some of which had become bestsellers.
The ranch lay in the eastern part of the county, along the banks of the Potomac. Once it got big enough, Jared and Lacy decided to develop it into a dude ranch, with about half of the property dedicated to the dude ranch, with several cabins for guests, pastures, and corrals, and the other half to his personal ranch. He now had dozens of animals living on the ranch. This was Jared's dream life. Although he did not neglect his duties to the Jedi at all, it fulfilled a dream of his to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather's family in owning a ranch. The ranch had become his life and pride and joy, and a popular stop for his fellow Jedi for a day of relaxation.
Jared turns right at a fork just inside the main gate, which is the road to his personal half of the ranch. It's only a minute before he's pulling up in front of the ranch house. It's a large country style house with three floors, and the back opening right into the barn where Jared keeps the family's horses.
Jared parks his truck and hops out. After gathering his bags from the bed, he heads for the front door.
Before he can even open the door, it's flung open, and his youngest son, Levi, who is 12, runs out of the door. "Dad!" He exclaims, hugging Jared tightly.
"Hey, buddy!" Jared says with a laugh, hugging his son in return. Looking up, he sees Lacy coming out of the house, followed by 2 of their other 5 children: their 17 year old son Peter and Levi's twin sister Makenzie. Their two oldest, Brooklyn and Nathan, are both off with their jobs. Brooklyn is now a Jedi like Jared, and Nathan, Jared's second oldest, is just finishing up training to be a starfighter pilot in the Starfleet.
"Hey, honey!" Jared says, very happy to see his wife again. He embraces her and they share a quick kiss.
"Welcome home, darling," Lacy says. Jared just smiles. After over 25 years of marriage and the two of them getting older, she looks more beautiful than ever to him.
"How was your trip, dad?" Peter asks.
"Very good. King William said to give you all his best, as did Miriam," Jared says.
"Well, come on in. I'm just about done with dinner," Lacy says.
"In a minute. I want to go see the animals," Jared responds before asking, "And where's Maddie?" Maddie is their youngest daughter, who's just 10.
"She's out feeding Daisy, Rose, and Mandy," Lacy says.
"Good. I'll go see them and her after I say hi to the horses," Jared says.
Peter and Levi help carry Jared's bags inside as Jared walks around to the back of the house and into the barn. As he enters the barn, he calls out, "Hey, I'm home!" Jared immediately hears shuffling hooves, and a second later, six horses stick their heads out of their stalls, looking towards him. The horses begin to nicker and whinny happily as they see Jared is home.
"Hey, guys," Jared says, happy to see his horses. He walks from stall to stall, speaking to the horses, giving them an apple from a bag that lies by the door, and stroking their necks.
After a minute with each of the other five, he comes to his personal horse, Blackjack, a jet black stallion he's had for 18 years since the horse was just 6 months old. Blackjack has truly become a member of the family at this point and is one of the dearest animals to the family. Jared has had Blackjack so long, four of his kids have literally not known life without Blackjack.
"Hey, buddy. How ya doing?" Jared says, scratching Blackjack's neck. Blackjack whinnies and then lays his head over Jared's shoulder, as is trying to hug him.
"What do you say we do a little riding?" Jared says. Blackjack seems to nicker in agreement. Jared smiles and unlatches the stall door, letting Blackjack out. Without taking the time to try and get Blackjack kitted up and saddled, Jared just hops on his back, twisting his hands into Blackjack's mane. When they're not going fast or doing intense riding, Jared likes to ride bareback.
"Alright, boy. Hip!" Jared says, and Blackjack starts trotting out of the barn. The two slowly ride out of the barn and over to a small pasture right next to the house.
As Jared reaches the pasture, he sees a little girl, surrounded by several doe whitetail deer. The girl is giggling and feeding them out of her hand.. Jared smiles as he slows Blackjack to a stop and then climbs off his back. "Maddie!" he calls out.
Maddie whips around at the sound of her father's voice. "Daddy!" she squeals as she runs over to him, hugging him tightly.
"Hey, princess! I'm so happy to see you too," Jared says, holding her tightly.
"I'm so happy you're home!" Maddie squeals in delight.
Jared laughs as he hugs his daughter. He lets Maddie go when he feels something nuzzling his arm. He looks and sees it's one of the deer, with the other two gathered around him too.
"Hey, Daisy. How are you girl?" Jared says, scratching her under the chin. Daisy, and the other two deer, are all pets of the family. Daisy and Rose were both orphaned fawns that Jared found and raised, and the family adopted Mandy from a sanctuary a few years later. The deer are some of the family's favorite animals, and Maddie in particular loves them.
Jared stands up a bit, still giving the three deer pats and rubs. Looking out over his property, Jared smiles and sighs happily. This life he has built for himself has not only been good, but helped him be a better Jedi. He would often spend hours meditating here at the ranch, surrounded by their animals, and he's gained a deeper understanding of the Force through the peace and serenity he's been able to feel here on the ranch.
Jared only stands there for a few moments before he says, "Alright, Maddie. Mommy's almost done with dinner. Why don't you head inside while I take Blackjack back to his stall?"
"Okay, daddy!" Maddie says before skipping off back to the house. Jared chuckles before hopping back on Blackjack and riding back to the barn.
After securing Blackjack back in his stall, Jared heads into the house. As he heads into the house, Jared smiles as he smells the scent wafting through the house. He recognizes it as the smell of Lacy's homemade pizza, his favorite dinner.
Jared comes into the dining room, ready to start digging in. However, before he can, Lacy looks at him and says, "Hey, honey. You actually have a call waiting from the Council, and the pizza won't be done for a moment. Why don't you go take it and then come eat?"
"Okay, honey," Jared says, giving her a quick kiss before heading into the living room.
Jared sees the holo-communicator flashing on the shelf where he keeps it. Jared sets it down in the center of the room and presses a button before sitting down in his recliner. A moment later, the device pulls up a hologram of the Council Chamber.
Most of the Council is sitting in their chairs, waiting for Jared to join the meeting. Jared smiles as he looks around at the Council, but also feels the familiar feeling of loss.
All of the original Jedi Council members from the old Jedi Order that had become the first Jedi Council of the Terran Jedi have passed away. Plo had actually passed just two years after he retired from the Order. The last of the old Jedi Masters, Aayla Secura, had passed away just three years earlier. The only Jedi of the old order left was Ahsoka Tano, now 72 years old, who was now the Grandmaster of the Order.
All of the members of the Council besides Ahsoka and Ezra Bridger now are natives of the Terran Alliance. Besides Jared and Miriam, also on the council are Kate Baird, Cameron Boyce, and Ahsoka's daughter Sarah Tano, now an accomplished Jedi Master. Also on the Council are a male Master from Ireland, a female Master from France, a male Master from Indonesia, a female Master from Brazil, and a male Master from Torfa.
"Jared. Welcome back to the States," Ahsoka says with a smile. Although she's in her 70s now, she is still as bright an individual as ever.
"Thank you, Master Tano," Jared says. He pauses, then says, "Well, Lacy's making dinner right now, so let's not take too long. You all know how she gets if I delay coming to dinner." All of the masters chuckle, all having been to Jared's ranch before and all knowing Lacy.
"Of course, Master Hansen," Ahsoka says. She pauses, then says, "I received a message from Andromeda Fleet Command today. They monitored a First Order incursion into the Outer Rim a few days ago. It was apparently one of the most egregious incursions to date, and the task force that was sent raided a planet before disappearing. Admiral Jacobsen increased the Andromeda Fleet's readiness level."
She pauses, then says, "The First Order is growing bolder. The darkness in Andromeda is growing. I spoke with Master Biles today. She said that over the last few months that she's been in the galaxy, she has felt the growing darkness."
"The First Order isn't going to just hang back in the shadows, no matter how much the New Republic deludes themselves that it will. They want to bring back the Empire, and they're going to try to," Ezra adds.
"I agree," Ahsoka responds.
"Ahsoka, you know we can't afford to send too many Jedi unless a war actually breaks out," Miriam says.
"I know. But the threat of the First Order is great. Snoke's power is growing, as is that of Kylo must be ready for the day that way comes again to Andromeda," she says.
"Which may be sooner rather than later," Jared muses aloud. As he sits there, he thinks back to all the old war stories he's heard over the years, and ones he's written himself. If the First Order launches their war with a surprise attack, and the Alliance isn't prepared for it…only time will tell what the outcome could be.
And, I'll end the first chapter there.
I hope you don't mind this was kind of a more laid back chapter. I wanted to introduce more character growth to Jared, as well as to reintroduce the Terran Jedi Council and show who has passed on and who's taken their place.
Also, a quick notice to all those who haven't read them: I have a number of side stories on this series that I wrote after The Terran Alliance Strikes Back. Most of them will play into this story, and I highly advise you go read them before getting too far in this one. They are as follows: Terran Alliance: A Changing World, The Terran and the Mandalorian, Terran Alliance: The Dark Soldier, Terran Alliance: A Jedi and the Hammer Squadron, and Terran Alliance: The Odyssey. The Odyssey and The Dark Soldier will be crucial to understand later parts of this story, so definitely read these two, but I highly recommend you read them all.
Next chapter will be up soon. Until it is up, please leave a review, follow and favorite the story, and stay tuned!
