I should apologize for this, but I shan't. This is exactly what it says on the tin: a fusion, with the RWBY characters in the supernatural universe. I haven't watched supernatural in ages, and I don't plan on rewatching it anytime soon, so this won't exactly follow the plot of supernatural. I also observe the right to alter details in order to make things fit better. Content warnings for fire and canonical death of a character. Enjoy!
Once upon a time, a man and his wife lived in a little house in Lawrence, Kansas with their two little girls. They had a happy little life together. Their dad, Tai worked as a teacher, while their mom, Summer, stayed home and took care of her two daughters, Yang and Ruby. They had a nice house, a vintage car, and every night they ate dinner around the table together.
Sounds like a perfect life, right? Unfortunately, perfect things rarely last in this world.
Late on the night of October thirty-first—which happened to be both Ruby's first birthday and her first Halloween—Tai wakes up to find himself alone, his wife not in bed next to him. At first, he doesn't worry. Summer probably went to check on the girls. Ruby slept through the night most of the time, but she still liked to check on the girls if she woke up.
But he can't quite shake the feeling that something is horribly wrong. He decides to check on the kids as well. He finds Yang curled up in her bed, sleeping peacefully, and ruffles her hair before going to check on Ruby as well.
There's no indication that anything is amiss until he steps inside the nursery—and by then it's too late. He barely has time to snatch a crying Ruby out of her crib before the room bursts into flames. Bursting back into Yang's room, he grabs his three-year-old daughter and rushes to carry his children to safety.
He doesn't look back to see the flickering smirk and haunting amber eyes peering out from the flames. But he's seen enough to know that there's nothing natural about this fire. Something caused this fire. Something killed his wife and nearly killed his children as well. And he's going to find out what it is.
They make it out of the house just in time. One of the neighbors must have seen the fire from their house and called the fire department, because as he stumbles across the grass, Ruby and Yang safe in his arms, he's greeted by firefighters and paramedics.
While the girls are looked over for any injuries, Tai gazes back at their burning house, the wreckage of what was once a beautiful family home, a sanctuary. Something had come into their lives and caused this destruction. Something had murdered his wife. He's going to find out what it was.
And he's going to make it pay.
