The Reality vs. Fiction Dichotomy

A Treatsy Written by Razorpaw

Scenario 1:

What would you do if you were Riser Phenex in DxD?

I closed my eyes after a harsh day from studying for my PhD exam, truthfully it was a nag but today was a free day for me. 'I will continue tomorrow early.' I closed my eyes, falling asleep in my slumber. I felt my muscles relaxing as my thoughts heavily were on things I studied. Before those thoughts turned to nothingness before the eternal darkness itself. It was quite a delicacy falling asleep, almost as if an art.

Or so I thought

Sunlight received me from the window, indicating the dawn of a new day, and I was perhaps the most lazy to wake up. Grunting, I looked up at a strange ceiling, it was quite dark and absorbed most of the window's light. The smell hits my nostrils of the grimeness and I feel wretched with myself, which impulses me to raise my chest and glare at my front. I was received with my body being in a far too big bed for me. It even had curtains, which was something far too outlandish for someone like me and even not ultilitarian at all.

'Is this a prank?' Anon deadpanned as he turned to his surroundings, turning to the side of his bed, he looked at the pajamas he was at. Matched nothing what he wore before, turning back to carpeted floor and the mahogany expensive furniture, he felt even more estranged. It was a bedside table, he grunted and shook his head. 'What is with this all?' I thought with a growl, not so much of myself being in there.

"Lord Riser, you already are past the hour of your scheduled meeting with your fiancée Lady Rias Gremory?"

And I realized something something, a headache which came with prolonged overstressing of my already sensitive ocular muscles. I massaged my temples and just ignored the annoying voice that called and instead tried to search in the damned bedside table for my glasses. As he pawed the near bedside table and leaned, I fell of the damned bed where I was sitting. Fuck!

"MA!" I cried out loud as I looked around, my eyes soon started to have that effect of zooming in and out of the camera, something nauseous that made me just grunt and close my eyes.

"Lord Riser."

I grunted and sighed, getting up once again as my shins collided with the damned edge of the bed, I made a sense in between the blur to paw at the damned bedside table. I only saw distinct blurs in my foresight, and the smell was still the same.

"Atchoo!" I sneezed.

Why is there this constant smell of wood, ash and fire. I hate that smell, and dusty places cause me bad allergies. "How could I loose them?" I chastised myself as I pawed the bedside table which was blurry, before turning into more defined edges and color before going blurry again. I grunted and desperately found a handle and pulled it, I felt something and grasped it. It was a cloth, taking a hold of it my eyes unblur.

"Gyah!" I emitted the most womanly cry I have ever down, to my shame as the offending object landed on the floor.

"What the fuck…?" Feeling like a fever dream was the last of my problems I realized, being blind and practically not finding my glasses made me, in short; a moron with most of his functions probably almost not useful.

And it frustrates me.

"Um..Lord Riser."

"Who's there?" I turned sharply to the source of the voice to see a long purple blur, ugh...I squint my eyes to try and make a form but I cannot. It was massively awkward. "Um, I apologize in advance but…I'm in need of some help you see." I tried to voice as much as I could with an embarrassed tone as I lightly tensed my neck, in a characteristic 'Oops' gesture. "I might've lost my glasses and I can't see. I'm sorry, I know…peace please." I raise dmy hands before I was reprimanded of my mistake of loosing my greatest tool which helped me to go beyond my visual handicap. To which I heard only an "Right away Lord Riser.".

Who was this Riser anyway? Who in hell is called Riser?

Not me thankfully.

I took time to get a feel of the fluffy bed, pushing my hand lightly just to know I could sit. I took a seat before I sighed. "Um, Lord Riser. You've never used glasses, are you sure you are alright?" She asked to which he blinked and did a double take, turning back to the purple blur that talked. "Well, Miss…you're female, right? Anyway." I shook my head rapidly. "I need to find a pair of glasses because idon'tseeathingiwthoutthemandiwon'tbeabletogetoutofthebed." I talk rushed whenever I'm nervous, my pace of speech suddenly modifies in its speed as I took a breath and grunted.

"Also, can I open the windows…this smell of ash and fire is making me allergic." My allergic nasal voice spoke to my shame, as I grunted. "Ugh, I'll need tissue now."

I was left alone for a moment as I could only sigh, I couldn't see that purple blur anymore. Great, that's what I get when trying to be polite to women. They all fucking run away. I get it there's no charm to a nerdy man who works in the service industry…that meant tnot they cannot be polite enough to help me with my fucking glasses!

Fuck!

As I squint my eyes to the floor, on a corner of the bed I find what looked like a rubik cube. And it looked pristine and complete of its pieces.

"Nice." I approved and went to take it, approaching it as much as I could so my eyes could see it, I started to solve it. What a way to kill time anyway, can't reach things, might as well entertain myself while at it. 'Might be a hassle and it will hurt, I'll try to reach somewhere after ending this puzzle.' I thought with a smirk.

Lady Phenex rose an eyebrow as her Son's Queen had just come to them alarmed about Riser waking up late. Now that was a usual in the house and even she had to giggle, Riser was the rebellious boy and she was sure Yubelluna appreciated her boy's antics.

"I'm sure Riser is alright Yubelluna, it isn't the end of the world if he is late or even postpones his meeting with his fiancée." She calmed the girl up, however the queen spoke further. "But Lady Phenex, Riser is blind. He says he cannot see anything at all." That made her raise an eyebrow. "He even slipped out of his bed, didn't even recognized me at all." The girl looked to be on the verge of tears after all; Riser could barely keep his paws off Yubelluna. Now either Riser was crappy with his Queen or, he was really blind.

"Alright." She was just reading the newest baking recipe on the newest magazine she bought, she had a frown on her face. "I hope this is worthy. Or I'm sure going to pummel that boy." She stated fierily as she got up and her shoes clanked, Yubelluna by her side. The expanse of the Phenex State was too big of a house, they took their time to reach her third son's alcove and abode, once arriving she was received with her son. Sitting on the edge of the bed, on his own little world and with a multi-colored cube he bought from apparently a human trend.

"Riser!" She cried out and yet the boy ignored her, which made her widen her eyes and raise her eyebrow. Surely her son knew better than to ignore her boy.

"Oh." Her boy turned as he tried to squint his eyes.

"Um, Miss…could you help me?"

"Miss?" She asked once again at her son's polite tone; he wasn't like this. Her son would be rebellious and not one of prim and morals, none of her sons were. Ruval was too forward for any politeness, Revan was too crass for politeness. The nearest thing was Ravel and she was haughty and direct too.

"I seem to be in a predicament, you see I lost my glasses and I can't see without them at all."

Alright, that was it. She had it, she walked forward and faced Riser frontally, taking out his toy and throwing it into the bed.

"Alright dear, time's up. You have to get up from the bed and do something."

"Um…do I know you?" He asked squinting his eyes and she felt hurt, now that really hurt, turning to Yubelluna who was on the dramatic edge of tears she rolled her eyes and cupped her son's head. Her hands glowering with magical energy as she frowned, she found some abnormalities in his orbital nerves and mostly his orbital muscles. Who attacked her son and what had they done? She tried to heal and they were normal as they were before. She frowned. Taking out a medical device created by Ajuka Beelzebub, she pointed it at her son and it beeped in confirmation before manifesting on her hands a contraption. Handing to her son the contraption he needed, he took them and opened them somehow and placed them on his face, resting on the bridge of his eyes as he blinked.

"Ah, better. Thank you Ma'am." He thanked her with a nod, which she rose an eyebrow, as she cupped her son's head she frowned even further. She didn't like what she saw, there were some mental lagoons in his mind, a magical manifestation of amnesia. She frowned even further, her youngest son getting amnesia wouldn't be good for the family. Narrowing her eyes, Lady Phenex inwardly nodded.

'So it worked.' She thought with a released breath, her son Riser was gone and inside was another being entirely. One she hoped would appreciate the chance that Riser didn't ever managed to realize he had, being born in the Marquis family of Phenex was something that should've been treated as an advantage and not a disadvantage. Her son, she loved her son but he was too arrogant and the family she knew would pay the price. If what the seer said was true, her family's greatest shame waited for her if Riser ever was allowed to pester Rias Gremory the way he wanted to. And to be truthful also, ever since Riser had an eye on Rias, he treated Yubelluna with superficiality and like a plaything. He pawed the girl, kissed her lips but never did the deed and only gave her false hopes. Yubelluna was far too lenient with Riser and allowed him too much, she had feelings for him. Her husband and the family would rejoice, yet they had to get a measure of the new being that inhabited her son. 'Have to stay on act.' She thought sternly.

"It seems we have a problem. A big problem." She addressed and Yubelluna gasped in fear.

"It seems my dear Riser has amnesia."

"Ugh, who is Riser?" I asked clearly not understanding who they were referring to, all while the blond haired woman scratched her face. "Ugh, well dear. You are Riser Phenex; you're my son-." To which I rose my arms and shook my head. "Um Ma'am, no offense to your son or family whatsoever but I have a family already. And you don't look like my mother, at all." My gaze upon the blond woman was settled on her blue eyes as she stared at me with a peaceful gaze.

"Well, that was polite and insulting at the same time dear, you should be mindful of how you speak to the ladies." She replied which made me raise an eyebrow and shrug.

"Now Riser you might remember of not but you're a devil. A devil of the noble house of Phenex and you're its third male son. We bear the power of flames and this lovely voluptuous young woman with wavy long purple hair and a big precious lovely cute pair of breasts, is someone who loves you, is loyal to you and holds you dear to her heart. Her name, you might remember or not is Yubelluna and she's here to obey any of your orders; she's your queen and your most faithful servant. She will do anything for you with utmost affection and dedication." The woman's hands settled on my shoulders, as I raise an eyebrow. Feeling like being in a weird fetish fever dream, I chose to only nod and gulp. She went to the bedside table and opened the drawer to see a obsidian box with an orange emblem.

She opened it which caused the woman named Yubelluna to gasp.

"Well, what a surprise. An almost full set except for the Queen and a single rook. All other pieces are here." She added with a tone of surprise as she moved the box, which caused the sound of objects clashing inside, taking out one of the chess pieces. I saw her take out a bishop piece and stare at it.

"Do you know what this is?" She asked which made me turned from the evil piece to the blond woman that said was my mother.

"A bishop piece from a chess set; moves only in squares horizontally or vertically which means cross-like movement. The king moves one square in any direction, Queen moves in any way. Bishop would move in squares only in diagonals in an X patter. Knight moves in 'L' shape and Pawn only moves forward. Whites move first blacks afterwards; which by the 18th century the pieces were given term of color; white moves always first and black second, which has allegedly been given a term of racial slur and insult, though short of the truth however." Adjusting my glasses with a raised eyebrow, the blond-haired woman nodded.

"Alright Riser, these are your evil pieces. These evil pieces take the form of chess pieces just as you said, and they are to include people in your peerage. A peerage is a group of slaves which come into your service and can be used for Rating games and to also aid you in any of your endeavors. And females of course; can be made into your Harem. Yet I'm sure you'll take Yubelluna's affection, feelings and devotion for you before you ever dare to endeavor in such a thing, right?"

The woman's gaze made me afraid, almost as bad as my mom's. As her wristwatch beeped.

"Oh dear, it's time. I'll leave him in your tender and capable care Yubelluna-chan, I have to catch up on my baking recipes. I'll make sure to tell Xuelan to come as fast as she can too a bit later." The blond haired woman's wink wasn't something I particularly enjoyed either.

Just as she left the door, I could only contemplate on what I've gotten myself involved to.

'What the fuck?'
