Synopsis: "One month after the events of last season's finale, Kate's apparent death continues to badly affect her team as they struggle to simultaneously deal with their own personal grievances and fighting against the increased amount of crime occurring in Gotham. Ryan's attempt to deal with her heart-shattering break-up with Whisper by fighting crime all across Gotham non-stop leads to her inadvertently overworking herself; which doesn't go unnoticed even by the likes of GCPD Commissioner Montoya. Meanwhile, Jacob's despair over killing his only remaining daughter sends him spiralling down a self-destructive path that causes the Crows to question his leadership. At the same time, The Wonderland Gang's plan to conquer all of Gotham hits a major obstacle as Alice struggles with the recent reemergence of the original Beth Kane persona."
Years ago, in late 1989 Jacob Kane and Gabi Kane were attending a funeral, one for the Waynes. With Jacob's sister Martha dying with her husband, their son Bruce Wayne saw it. Nobody knew how much that tragic event would cause from its ripple effect.
The two of them stood around heartbroken. Gabi touched her pregnant belly, carrying both Kate and Beth. With a heavy sigh, Jacob spoke to her. "I blame Thomas for this. My sister is dead and that boy is without parents. He should've been more careful in this city." He said coldly.
She looked at him with sadness. "It doesn't matter who's fault it was Jacob. We should just be there for Bruce now."
Jacob didn't respond to that. His grief was clouding the judgement he felt.
Gabi looked disappointed by his reaction feeling she knew where the misplaced blame actually was and went over to Bruce with the intention to comfort him, with his butler Alfred watching over him giving a moment of alone time.
Young Bruce was sitting alone at the front of the funeral, close to his parents, completely distraught. None would know just how much it would change the boy.
She carefully sat next to him leaving a moment of silence.
"Does he hate me? Uncle? I should've helped my mother and father. I could've done something." Bruce said gently, turning over to Gabi.
"No." She held his hand. "I know he doesn't hate you Bruce. We love you and we always will."
He didn't seem to believe this looking down rubbing his eyes. "Why would god be so cruel, Aunt Gabi? I thought god would protect us. Keep us safe from the bad guys out there? Isn't god meant to be all nice?"
"I'm so sorry Bruce. We can't always understand why things happen. I want to believe there was a reason for this. I don't want to think this is a senseless act. I know you'll be watched over. Know things will get better. Okay?"
He started to cry once more. "This is my fault. If I wasn't scared. They'd still be alive. It's because of me this happened to them!"
"No, no. I promise Alfraid will tell you the same. This isn't your fault. The only one to blame is that man. You are only a boy, your parents loved you so much and did their greatest job. Protecting you. I know they'll be okay where they are now, would you like to say a prayer for them? A special one?"
Bruce nodded slowly. "How?"
"It's okay." She kissed his forehead and hugged him tight. "I'll show you. They'll hear us, you know. Will send down love to you. I promise Bruce, you'll always be loved. Now and forever."
They continued to hug as both Jacob and Afraid watched the interaction. Jacob Kane thought to himself how truly loving his wife was and how lucky their children would be having her. Deep in his heart, he wanted to be just as good as a father, as she was a mother.
Back in the present day, with Jacob Kane he was about to raise the gun on himself against better judgement and Kate's wishes. There was surprisingly a gunshot not from his gun, instead it was from another.
"Drop it right now!" A familiar voice yelled out saying. "I will not be asking again! Do it right now!"
He complied, dropping it and turned around slowly, seeing it was Montoya who had a gun on him, with some other officers behind out of sight to see what he was doing. A fortunate turn for him. "What are you doing here?" He asked, in denial about what he was preparing to do.
"Handcuff yourself, now Kane. You're not getting out of this." Montoya replied she tossed over some cuffs, which Jacob placed on. "You are under arrest for the murder of Batwoman." She said coldly, taking him away and reading off his rights, as he accepted this fate.

A couple of days after Kate's presumed death, Ryan, Mary and Luke were around the batcave. The three of them weren't doing well. Right now they were having a difficult decision about how to handle the public with Kate's fate.
"You're serious? Using that martian guy again?" Mary asked, upset by what Luke had just suggested to them.
"Yeah, I think asking him to impersonate Kate would be the best call. He can make it seem like she's gone on vacation or something. Out of town at least. We don't want people to make the Batwoman connection." He looked serious.
Ryan wasn't sure of what to say to that or anything really. Part of her wanted to comment about how shocking it was to happen having a martian on speed dial, but she couldn't bring herself to say a joke right now.
"I can't believe we're at this point already, Kate could be alive out there! She probably wouldn't be happy if we reacted like this! I mean her bar has been rebuilt, she was really looking forward to it being opened again! She's gotta be okay!" Mary exclaimed, really upset by the situation.
Luke came closer. "I'd be over the moon if she's mad at me or yells at me or hugs me, literally anything. Whatever, as long as it means she's alive. That she comes back home." He replied calmly, trying to keep himself together.
"It'd only be a temporary thing, explaining her absence. At least nobody will connect the dots when she comes back." Ryan expressed, also still firmly believing Kate would be returning soon.
Mary seemed unsure by it, but relented. "Fine, fine. Go through with it." she walked away with Luke following.
"It'll be okay Mary, we're going to figure this out and we won't stop looking for Kate until she's found, we won't give up." Luke reassured.
"Yeah, I hope so." Mary replied uncertainty and left the cave, leaving Ryan and Luke to continue to try figuring out what to do.
Elsewhere, Jacob Kane was sitting in GCPD lockup. Arrested for the murder of Batwoman. Unfortunately for commissioner Montoya she was about to get another prime example of their broken system. The mayor of Gotham had arrived looking quite unhappy immediately storming to her office.
"Why is the leader of the Crows in lockup!?" He questioned.
She stood up, trying to hold back her anger. "Mr. Mayor. He's committed a murder of Batwoman, it was not self defence. There was a recording of the shooting taking place, he had no reason to fire."
"Doesn't matter." The Mayor cut off brushing it off, which made her pissed. "I authorised Kane to carry out an operation to bring down Batwoman as he had continuously requested for. He completed his mission so I see no reason for him to be sitting in that cell. So let him go."
"But, but sir! He broke the law! Mr Mayor you have to reconsider, let this go to court and let them decide his fate. That's how the law is supposed to work!" She exclaimed letting a little bit of her rage out.
The mayor just put his hand up. "I don't want to hear it, Montoya. Either you let him out of here or I'll get someone who will! This man is a hero and should be treated as such, the city is safer now due to his actions."
She relented furiously and went to Jacob Kane's cell, with the mayor right behind her along with body guards of his. All Montoya wanted to do was give the mayor a piece of her mind and resign, it took a lot to not do it. All she could hope for now not resigning would be a good choice.
With heavy reluctance, she was forced to release him. "Looks like you're free to go Kane, lucky you. Feel like a hero?"
He just was sitting in the cell silently not reacting to that. Montoya was so utterly disgusted by this walking away she didn't even notice this.
The mayor didn't either, just walking in. "Mr Kane, I can't believe you managed to pull it off. You did the city a great service. You deserve a public award. An entire carmony to reinvigorate the faith in the Crows."
Still, Jacob said nothing, playing his daughter's potential final moments over and over again in his head.
Completely obvious, the mayor didn't notice. "Hmm, gentlemen, our city's hero clearly has had a very long couple of days. I mean this and bringing down that Safiyah woman. Take him home would you?"
The mayor left and the body guards, puzzled, practically had to drag Jacob around from the GCPD lockup. If they paid closer attention it would've been clear how much he wanted to stay there and pay for this crime.
A month had passed since the tragedy on the bridge. Since then the city had fallen further into chaos, without Batwoman to watch over the city it was open season for criminals believing it was far easier to operate now. The Crows too weren't at top form anymore either or as feared.
Ryan Wilder was trying her best to keep up with the increase in crime taking over the city, right now as Black Bat she was chasing down a lead stopping a gun deal. It wasn't the first one even that night.
She leaped down and immediately started to fight using her staff to knock a couple of them straight away. One of them opened fire, which she stopped with the shield which was long fixed after the past events. A couple of the others ran off escaping as Ryan was focused on taking down the gunman moving forward and speeding up knocking them down into a gun crate.
Black Bat grabbed onto him. "Where did you get these weapons?" She questioned with anger coming though, exhausted by the increase in guns flooding the streets.
"I'm not afraid of you! Only just a sidekick!" The criminal exclaimed, with a very poor choice of words. It was really getting on her nerves lately. Probably wasn't helping from the lack of any sleep.
She tightened her grip and was about to take a hit at them before stopping herself. "This isn't the day to make me angry. Tell me where the guns are coming from!" Ryan shouted at them, seeming to manage to scare them enough into talking.
"Fine, fine! The Black Mask. He's been selling guns. It's for a power grab. That's all I know I swear!" They responded.
"I believe you." Black Bat replied and knocked them out. She then went onto coms talking to Luke. "Hey. Busted another deal. Can you get GCPD down here? Clean up the mess and grab the guns. It's really out of control."
Luke sighed heavily. "Yeah, I got it covered. You should get back. It's been a long night. You can't be everywhere Ryan."
"Yeah, I know. I'll come back to the cave. I promise." Black Bat replied putting her head down on a car for a moment, then moving up spotted a figure in the darkness for a moment. It almost immediately vanished. "I'm seeing things." She shook her head getting on the bike leaving the scene as GCPD were coming.
Black Bat returned to the cave parking inside and keeping the suit on going over to see Luke to give an update. "I heard Black Mask was behind this rise in guns hitting the streets as of late."
He turned around. "The Black Mask? He's not been seen in Gotham for awhile. I wonder if it's the same guy, Roman Sionis." Luke started looking on the batcomputer for more information.
"I bet he saw the chance to seize power, cause, Batwoman is gone." She said with heavy sadness, then looked at the bat computer.
"Assuming it's him, this won't be an easy fight to win. That guy was sadistic and ruthless. One of the worst mobsters in Gotham's history. That guy isn't to be messed around with, at least he wasn't in full power. Batman brought down his empire nearing the end of his time in Gotham City. Caught everyone and exposed him to the public, besides the man himself."
Ryan sighed looking at the information. "I vaguely remember him, that guy hurt a lot of people. I can't believe he's here now. Can't be a coincidence it was the same timing as hearing The Wonderland Gang is planning on something big. This isn't going to end well." She remarked, feeling down by the thought of this brewing.
"You should really rest, seriously when was the last time you've even had sleep? Luke asked with great worry.
"I'll be fine, I'm managing."
Luke shook his head. "You gotta be more careful Ryan! We can't lose anyone else. Sleep is really important. Especially right now!"
She turned back to him. "Okay, I'll try to. How has Mary been doing lately?"
"Slowly getting better, she's been spending a lot of time at the clinic. She's been crying less and less. Slow progress, but she's getting better everyday."
"If I had the time, I'd go see her." She yawned. "I hope she'll be able to come back to the cave, miss having her around."
Luke nodded in agreement. "Yeah me too."
Black Bat drove away on her bike heading home, keeping on the suit just in case of being needed sooner than later.
Mary was hanging around the clinic working hard to help anyone walking though her doors. Right now she was taking a break, being at home in the family penthouse.
She had taken down any photos of Jacob not wanting to even think about him at all, still extremely filled with rage. Mostly when home she'd think about how much she was missing Kate looking at some of the pictures around. It was completely heartbreaking for her to go home each time.
More people were coming in lately with the crime rate in Gotham increasing, despite Ryan's best efforts. It was getting exhausting having to help out so many people, but she was determined to keep going.
A younger person maybe not even eighteen was just brought in with a gunshot, it wasn't fatial but she started trying to help. "Hey you're alright, understand? Unless you don't understand, you might not be okay."
"I'm fine, lady." The kid said, just looking upset.
"Could you tell me who shot you? Assuming it was someone and you weren't being stupid playing with guns." Mary remarked, having that happen a couple of times.
He looked suspicious. "Why so many questions?"
"I'm just a curious person when a kid gets shot, what can I say?" She replied back, annoyed having less passince. "Look, are you in any danger? I just wanna help, not with police or Crows, I got another friend."
The kid relented. "It's a dangerous city. You know, Black Mask needs guys. Didn't have much of a choice to help out, try to join. Guess I failed. Least hope so."
Mary understood, but was still furious learning that. It wasn't the first time learning of something like this happening in Gotham. Probably happened a lot. Just right now it was affecting her more than ever. "Do you happen to have an address for this meeting groupie place, whatever the heck it is?"
Kid looked scared. "Why would I tell you lady?"
"First of course cause I'm patching you up. Second, these types of people won't leave you alone, not that easy. Third, my friend is really good at beating up criminals and those guys could use some cracked heads." Mary said with a bit of anger.
"Yeah, I'll write it down. Guess I don't have much else to lose." The kid shrugged.
Mary sighed looking around the clinic. There were others with wounds too that could've also been from Black Mask. She didn't care who he was, just that he was clearly a major problem to a lot of people in Gotham making the less fortunate citizens having an even worse time.
Elsewhere in the city, more trouble was brewing with the Wonderland Gang. They had been wanting to stomp out Black Mask, but Alice was being more unusually then normal hiding away again.
A few of her people were arguing.
"She's not fit to lead us anymore!"
"That's insane, keep your voice down!" Another exclaimed, scared.
Another stepped up. "The Black Mask is out there grabbing for control of Gotham slowly but surely. We gotta fight back! This is our city!"
One stepped up confidently. "Someone should take over! We need a strong leader right now! Not Alice losing it!"
"And how do you find someone like that? There is nobody else like Alice!" They exclaimed, quite certain of that.
"Let's give her time! Maybe she's figuring out a master strategy to take out that thug once and for all!" Another exclaimed.
"Hey! We're all thugs here!" Another added in.
They all continued arguing, getting nowhere while Alice was alone talking to herself currently tied down. "You won't be taking control of me again! I won't lose any more time, I will have complete control!" She said to herself, not entirely confidently. "They're expecting me to take control, I've almost thought of the perfect plan. Right? Of course yes! I'm brilliant."
She took a deep breath and exited very dramatically slamming open the door gaining the attention of all her people waiting around. "I've almost come up with the perfect plan! I need everyone ready! The guns and the shipments into Gotham are key! We'll blast that silly man inside the next century!" She exclaimed happily. "That's just the beginning, oh yes! I have so much planned with this plan of mine." Her words weren't reassuring, but all her people still cheered.
Back over with Ryan Wilder, she had returned home reluctantly and went straight to bed trying to not look around. The sadness of her girlfriend leaving was still a fresh wound to her heart. Looking around just brought back memories of their time together and how much she was missing her. It was extremely painful like losing a part of herself and she just had no idea how things could improve.
Even just lying in their bed was miserable. Her own bed now. It added to finding it harder and harder to sleep each night. Now with the increasing crime rate and Batwoman's fate looking more grim, it only added to it.
"Man, I hope I can finally get some sleep." She said to herself slowly closing her eyes.
"Hmm, I highly doubt that'll be happening anytime soon." A familiar voice said, making Ryan's eyes shoot open. "What's the matter? Hearing a ghost?"
She glanced over seeing a dead man, The Scarecrow. "I finally sleep and I have a bad dream, fantastic."
"A dream? No silly child, it's a waking nightmare I'm afraid to say." Scarecrow responded standing in the corner. "You're aware of what a hallucination is, aren't you? Or perhaps I'm paying you a visit from my final destination?"
"You're not real." Ryan replied, trying to ignore him.
Scarecrow shook his head appearing on the other side of the room now. "Nonetheless, here I am. You miss the woman? Your love? Maybe you needed some company." He said in a mocking tone.
Ryan shook her head. "I'm dreaming and you'll be gone soon. I just really need some sleep and everything will be okay."
"No. Sleep isn't destined for you. Only pain, misery. I mean you thought it'd be easy getting over me? Ha. It's funny." Scarecrow continued to mock.
It wasn't really phasing Ryan, she just continued to ignore him and managed to fall asleep completely dead tired. Even so, she actually did have a number of bad dreams and couldn't rest for long.
Meanwhile during Ryan's sleep, Jacob Kane was being briefed about the coming of Black Mask in Gotham and the increasing trouble. He wasn't really paying attention to the update, looking as if he hadn't been sleeping either or shaving at all in the last month since Kate's fate.
Krauser noticed his lack of interest during this briefing with all the Crows. He decided against saying anything, for now.
The Crows hadn't gathered too much information on their target Black Mask as of yet besides the old intel about him. Along with him growing his ranks for an obviously sinister proposal to take over the city.
It finished up and Kane didn't even realise at first, getting a few suspicious looks as others were starting to realise something was increasingly wrong with their leader. He wasn't paying attention and wasn't preparing anything to combat the growing threat in the city.
Agent Proctor approached Kane. "Sir, the briefing is over."
"What? Oh yes, of course." Kane replied simply standing up and heading back to his office, where he had stashed some drinks.
"Commander, some of us are concerned that something is wrong. Should we be made aware of a situation?" Proctor questioned.
Kane looked frustrated. "No, everything is fine. Just let me be, agent." He went into his office slamming the door and locking it shut. He immediately started to drink again, starting to slowly get addicted. Kane had been trying to hold himself back from drinking too much, but it was becoming harder having self control.
Proctor walked away and was confronted by Krauser. "It seems our commander is failing some of his duties, wouldn't you say?"
"Frankly, I don't know what to say. Since Batwoman, he's not been himself. I'm sure he'll get better soon." Proctor said, ignoring the problem.
"And if he doesn't? We are trying to give Gotham safe during a major crisis, we need a stronger leader. Someone, more in control." Krauser suggested, with an obvious replacement in mind.
Proctor scoffed at this walking away, but couldn't help considering the man's words.
Then, unexpectedly an alarm went over their screens.
"Two of our teams in the field have been attacked!" One exclaimed looking around seeing a lot of Crows exiting to leave and offer support.
This interrupted Jacob Kane's drinking as he knew if some of his people were in trouble he'd need to be out there, so he rushed out along with them.
Unfortunately for Ryan, this is how she was woken up getting a few calls from Luke until she was finally awake enough to answer. "What's going on?"
"Sorry to wake you, it's Black Mask. Word is False Facers just attacked a couple of Crow vehicles and now, I'm tracking a GCPD car that seems to be under fire, it's close to your area. Only reasoned that I called you." Luke explained.
"What? You gotta be kidding me?" Ryan replied, getting suited up quickly, as some of the suit was still on. "We knew they'd strike soon, but this is fast. And random."
She hopped on her bike and started to drive.
Luke sighed. "Maybe not that random, might be trying to buff out their chests. Hypothetically speaking. You know, like bullies on the playground?"
"Yeah, trying to attack the law enforcement. At least it's GCPD I suppose, might not shoot me on sight for trying to help." Ryan remarked, glad it wasn't Crows nearby in danger. She'd still help them out, but not happily, not at all.
In a couple of minutes she found a couple of officers pinned down to a couple of cars with at least seven False Facers.
"Doing this in my neighbourhood and woke me up early. They're in for a world of hurt." She said to herself moving in using her bullet shield knocking two of the thugs down. The other five opened fire on her now, the shield took some of the bullets, but it'd definitely be needing a repair from all the punishment it was taking lately.
Black Bat moved in knocking down two of the shooters, the other three were about to open fire on the officers who were pinned down. Spotting this she immediately rushed in and leaped in the way with the shield nearly getting shot herself from being so reckless with her movement, but she stopped the officers from being hit.
A couple other police cars were zooming near approaching the scene. The standing false facers started to run away.
"Not a chance." Ryan said softly and determinedly rushing after them, throwing a batarang at one of them to stop one of them from getting away at least, the other two were moving really fast and she was starting to get really exhausted. It was becoming harder, but she didn't want to admit this. She grabbed a hold of the one she stopped pinning them to the ground. "Think you're tough shooting up a neighbourhood? What's it all for? What? Just a power play? Like tearing this city apart is just fun!" She exclaimed, getting angry, feeling the lack of sleep getting to her head.
Commissioner Montoya was around and came over to Black Bat quickly, gently moving her off. "I thought I would find you out here, seems to me you're out every chance you can get to knock some heads in."
"I was trying to get sleep for the record. Only was woken up by all this commotion outside, uh, happened to be a few blocks away. Or more. Pretty far." Ryan said trailing off a little trying to avoid revealing her home's location by mistake.
Montoya gave a little laugh, not really caring about finding out anything personal about her. She did return to looking concerned however, looking closely at Ryan. "You should really take a day, if not a night off. Just catch up on some needed sleep."
"I'll try that commissioner, thanks." Ryan said softly, thinking now of leaving.
"You're pushing yourself past the limit. I can see it and that's a dangerous road to head down." She expressed looking at her genuinely.
Black Bat turned around. "Without Batwoman and these chuckle heads coming, this city needs me more than ever commissioner."
Montoya sighed. "You won't do anyone good if you die from having no break and no sleep. Not many people can push past their limits each day and live to tell about it. There is no shame in taking a step back to protect yourself."
"I appreciate your concern commissioner Montoya. Will think about it." Ryan replied, turning to leave heading back home, but she knew there wouldn't be much sleep.
Not having much sleep either was Sophie Moore, still in hiding since having an arrest warrant out for her. All this time with nothing to do but think was increasingly becoming a major point of frustration.
She was listening in to what was happening with the Crows and GCPD both being under attack by The False Facers. It was painful not being able to help at all and worse yet Julia was coming to check on her now, which she wasn't really wanting to see her after everything, still she kept coming to check on her.
"I figured you'd be listening to the radio, is anything going on?" Julia questioned, with a bit of a soft voice.
Sophie nodded, not really giving her a look. "Our colleagues are under attack, people are dying out there and I just have to sit here." She sighed deeply putting her head down on the table with the radio.
"Yeah, it's a shame that you're unable to help right now, I feel you Sophie. If I could think of a solution I'd do something. I swear." Julia said with sympathy, still deeply caring about Sophie.
"I know." Sophie replied looking back. "If Kate were here, she'd probably be going out now fighting those guys. Trying to help us clear things up. I keep hoping by some miracle she'll come back here. Give this city its hero back. Help us. Fix things. Wish could just walk to her again too. So much to say." She said, with her words trembling.
Julia looked disappointed. "I'm sorry luv. We both cared for her. It's difficult, thinking of her being gone. Still knowing her, there is always a chance she's alive. Still kicking somewhere, somehow."
She looked unsure. "You knew her better than me."
"I wouldn't say it, we know different sides to her." Julia replied, looking to leave feeling she wasn't helping Sophie now.
Sophie didn't stop her from exciting, continuing to listen to the radio hearing further information being very intent on it all. She wondered how exactly they'd handle the situation going on, wishing she could help.
Jacob Kane was playing catch up after some of his people were attacked, even killed by False Facers. Until now, he wasn't exactly too focused on that threat, having the grief of what occurred eating away at him every day and night. Now there was no choice but to be forced to act like a leader to The Crows again, sitting around idle wasn't going to be an option anymore. He needed to be proactive.
It was chaos around the office without a leader. He moved in, stepping forward to take control of the situation trying to get a hold of himself. "Alright! Enough! What do we know about these guys?"
"We have no updates commander Kane, you've already been given all the information, you know nothing more than us." Krauser replied immediately, having a bit of a sly tone in his voice, enjoying taking a shot at Kane.
He seemed frustrated. "Come on people! We have new information, any prisoners here to question? Something useful!"
Krauser crossed his arms, replying again. "Yes commander, a couple of prisoners are being brought down now. Surprised you haven't been keeping track."
A few of the Crows were chatting to one another listening to this.
Kane seemed very amused by this, stepping close to Krauser. "How about you go and question those prisoners when they arrive, find Black Mask and get out of my sight."
"Understood, sir." He replied, with resentment, but listened, walking away leaving Jacob Kane alone again.
He looked around carefully, stepping back into his office. About to throw an object, but managed to stop himself. Instead he put his hands together sitting down on the floor. Not sure of how to improve matters.
Back over with Ryan Wilder, she was about to return home again hoping to finally get a tiny bit of sleep until getting another call. This time from Mary. Not having heard from her very much, she answered, despite wanting to pass out for weeks.
"Hey, I'm not catching you at a bad time am I? Know you're swamped right now, with all the losers running around causing trouble." Mary began saying, sounding a little more like her usual self.
"No, no, not a bad time." Ryan lied and sighed, putting her head down on the bike front part. "Know you're dealing with a ton too right now. What's up Mary?"
Mary paused for a moment, then lowered her voice. "I got an address, sounds like Black Mask was recruiting people. At least one kid."
That immediately got Ryan's attention and woke her up. "A kid? Damn, okay. Did you hear anything else? Like how much resistance should I be expecting? Or if this recruitment drive is still running there?"
"I couldn't get anything else from him. Ryan, he was really scared. Barely got anything outta him and can't even be surprised. I mean, can't imagine what it'd be like for a kid to experience all this." Mary said with sadness.
Black Bat nodded in understanding, putting her head up. "I completely get it. Poor kid, are they still there?"
"Yeah. Didn't want to send him away yet. Was hoping I could send him on his merry way after you do your thing. Maybe? Texting the address now."
Ryan started to drive. "Definitely. I'm going to handle it. Will call you back once I'm all wrapped up and Black Mask's people are in cuffs." She hung up and zoomed off driving to the location ready to give them hell.
In another part of Gotham, Alice was still hard at work locked away, trying to form the great plan talked about. There was nothing, her head was becoming more and more distracted, most importantly. Occupied.
She slammed her fists down on a desk. "Get out of my head! I will not in no chance in all the world accept this! I'm the only one who exists!" Alice was screaming, to an outside view, like that of a low level Wonderland Gang member, sounding not promising to be hearing from their leader.
"I really think we've got a problem." They said allowed.
One of the guys around slapped them upside the head. "Stop listening in on her. Are you crazy? You have to be crazy, disobeying her!"
"She's yelling a lot, like at herself! Not in a self-deprecating way, but like there is another person?" They remarked puzzled.
"Have you heard of a cellular phone?" One replied with a laugh.
They scoffed and put their head back listening further.
Alice sounded like she threw something again. "Please, I don't know what's going on. You did something horrific. Why can't I have clearity?" She said cryptically. Only to start yelling again. "La, la, la! You aren't real! Will figure this out and be rid of you! Interrupting my plot! I need to think!" There was another pause. "You killed my sister!" She then screamed out and there was another bang in the room.
The confused thug backed up again scratching her head. "Huh. I'm starting to wonder if she's got a thing for stage play. She's talking to herself!"
"And? I talk to myself all the time!" One of Alice's loyalist thugs said, looking as if they had enough of all the questioning.
They relented and walked away just as a big crash was heard.
Everyone wondered what that was. One dared to knock on the door. "Boss? Everything okay there?" With hesitation they opened the door a crack. "Boss? Wait! Boss?! Where did you go?" They realised Alice was gone and a window broken open to the outside.
Black Bat arrived at her destination after a long drive, at least felt that way. A ruined abandoned building was the address. Looked as if it might've been a gym in the past before being shut down. Now with false face masks on the side of the entrance. Not exactly subtle, but these people wanted to show their dominance.
"Ryan? Why aren't you asleep?" Luke asked, seeing her get back onto coms.
She gave a little laugh. "Could ask you the same thing."
"Well, I only sit in this comfy chair all day. Meanwhile you throw yourself into the way of gunfire each night. One of us is more likely to be exhausted." Luke pointed out with a bit of sas in his voice.
Black Bat shot up to the roof of the building seeing a vent system, finding herself able to fit inside of it. "Mary called me, it's apparently a Black Mask recruitment centre. No way I'm letting this continue."
"Got it, can I help?" Luke replied determined and got to work tracking her location. "You know, GCPD could be of assistance."
Ryan started heading inside trying to keep noise to a minimum. "I want to get a picture of the situation here. If there are kids here for example, don't want trigger happy cops arriving. Or worse even, Crows. And don't want some scared kids to be shipped off the prison because they were threatened by a bunch of cowardly thugs."
"Yeah. I completely get it Ryan. I'm here if you need me." Luke replied, sitting back.
With a little more movement Black Bat was able to get a sight in the room. There was a group watching the ring of the gym with two teenagers fighting it out. A few False Facers were watching. There was one who looked like Black Mask, but Ryan didn't believe it was him.
As one kid won, the Black Mask look alike started to talk. "Congrats kid, you've gotten yourself a promotion. Welcome to the gang."
Ryan clenched her fists with anger. "Enough of this." She kicked open the vent throwing down a smoke pellet immediately landing on the Black Mask pulling off the mask. An obvious tell wasn't the real guy, as the mask was unable to come off the real deal. "A fake, that's all this man is. The real Black Mask doesn't care about any of you."
The thugs pulled their guns out, opening fire as Black Bat ducked for cover using her shield, almost being hit by a few stray bullets.
All the young recruits were running away now. Looking afraid and demoralised to join up with Black Mask after this. One kid however stuck behind, holding a gun and getting in Black Bat's blindspot taking a shot, managing to hit her side.
She started to bleed and instinctually threw a batarang disarming them. Unfortunately, the kid was shaking already and it cut his hand a little, which Ryan noticed as he too then ran away. That only added to her anger boiling over.
"Kill the bat!" The Black Mask fake shouted trying to run away too.
Black Bat shook her head. "You're not getting away from me." She rushed out taking in more bullets feeling the impact bounce off as she closed in and knocked two of the thugs out with the shield. Then used the grappling gun to launch herself up shooting downward to kick the fake Black Mask down.
Another False Facer pulled out a big machine gun setting it up and started to fire like crazy around the gym.
Ryan stayed low and contacted Luke. "Okay, they've got heavy fire power and the kids are gone. Call GCPD. And Mary. I've kinda been shot."
"You have been what!? How do you get kinda shot?!" He took a deep breath. "Okay, I'll do that now. Police should be there soon. And I'm getting Mary on the phone. Just, please, get out of there."
Ryan looked up. "When the gunfire stops, I will." It did then stop almost immediately after, the thug fired all the bullets available.
She jumped over and charged at them before a reload could happen, avoiding another shooter in the room who almost got another shot in. After the heavy gunner was down, the other was the priority who seemed to be a better shot. Even doing a really fast reload unlike the other guy. So, she decided on grappling up above sticking to the shadows waiting for her moment to strike.
"What's the matter, bat? I've faced Batman years ago. You don't scare me." The thug said mockingly looking around.
Black Bat was trying to ignore it, but trouble appeared next to her. A voice. "You hear that? He's not scared of you, shouldn't you put the fear back into him? Make that man afraid, it'll teach all of them."
She glared over, seeing the figure of Crane in the shadows. "You're not real. And are certainly not helping."
"I am trying to help. That man. Quite frankly, all these souls haven't had the fear of god put into them for a month now. With your partner dead, they aren't scared of you." He said calmly, with his annoying voice from Ryan's perspective.
Ryan turned back to him. "So what? I'm not a monster of the night. All I want to do is help people, not make people scared of me."
"You're a fool then. Batman did it. Even Batwoman understood the balance. Go down there, make him understand not to cross The Black Bat." Crane said in a manipulative tone, now right next to her ear before vanishing as Ryan went to look.
She against better judgement listened, feeling it was right. These people needed to be scared again. Ryan leaped down and landed down on the thug. Then spotted the Black Mask fake trying to get the drop on her, but she was quick enough to twist his arm and throw him to the ground.
"Alright! Alright! You win!" He said putting his hands up.
Black Bat stared down gritting her teeth. "I'm not going to be friendly with you. Think it's fun threatening people? Children?!" She exclaimed, lifting them up. "Bet you're feeling like a tough guy now aren't you?"
"I'll tell you whatever you want to know!" They replied frightened.
She wasn't listening, tightening her grip. "You're not getting special treatment. I've had enough of people like you hurting children." Before continuing sirens were heard outside, snapping her out of it. She let go and felt the gunshot wound. Realising something was wrong and grappled up to the roof again, taking a moment. "What's the matter with me? I almost lost it." She muttered to herself with a sigh. With the GCPD taking control and surrounding the building, she then departed heading back down to her bike driving off the batcave to get patched up. Not before having one last glimpse of the ghost of The Scarecrow watching her.
In the Crows HQ, Brain Krauser was planning behind Jacob Kane's back. He met with a bunch of other like minded people who were all noticing the failings and differences of their leader.
"He's weak and needs to be replaced." Krauser said bluntly.
The crows in the meeting nodded in agreement.
"And how do you suppose you do that? You can't just replace the leader with a flick of your finger. He's been in charge for our entire operation!" One pointed out, wanting this to happen, but wasn't sure of how it could.
Krauser looked confident. "We'll figure something out. With how incompetent he's been, it's only a matter of time until he screws up." He looked away with a smirk. "Maybe sooner than one might think."
"And you're going to lead us?" Another Crow asked.
He smiled. "Yes. This organization needs a stronger leader to crack down on Black Mask, he can't be allowed to terrorize this city anymore. We need to push back. There is a war out there ladies and gentlemen. And we're going to win by any means necessary, no matter the cost." Brain Krauser said with an ominous undertone.
Ryan arrived back at the batcave, almost ready to pass out. From the blood probably and certainly from the lack of sleep. Her body wanted to crash.
"Hey, let me check that." Mary started to say walking over.
She sat down. "Check away. Might fall asleep if that's alright."
"Oh no! Need to make sure you don't have a concussion. You didn't hit your head did you? Know Black Mask and his thugs are dangerous." She replied checking over Ryan completely from top to bottom.
Ryan yawned. "No, don't believe I did. Only was shot. Which honestly, I wasn't expecting to happen. Let alone some kid doing it."
"A kid? Jeez, I'm sorry Ryan." Mary said feeling bad.
"It's fine, I did good going there. Thank you for telling me about the meeting site. I think they'll be thinking twice about going back to that neighbourhood." Ryan said with some relief in her voice, then glanced over at Luke.
He was staring at the screen looking not too happy.
"What's going on?" Ryan questioned with concern.
Luke looked back with hesitation, but ended up doing so. "Here, unfortunately we've got a video from the real Black Mask. It's generalized, but I think it's directed at us." He then pressed play sitting back.
"Hello Gotham. The False Face Society will not be stopped. This is a warning to stay out of our way. There will be no stopping us." Black Mask then showed his base of operations, with a large amount of weapons present and thugs. "We are ready. And this city, it's primed for a takeover. Make a good choice citizens, join up with us. Have a place in our new empire." He stepped closer. "And to the living bat, you are out manned, gunned. You will lose and die, like your predecessor. Do yourself a favour, hide away and hang up the cape. You might just live." The video then ended.
Ryan clenched her fists and almost stood up. "He's got some nerve!" She then sat back down, with Mary having a stern look.
"Yeah he's a real piece of work! Man, I'd love to make him embarrassed and wreak that stuck up d-" She paused taking a deep breath. "Sorry. It'll be okay Ryan. You just need to rest for now. You were lucky only to be grazed by the bullet. Still it was a really close call you know!"
Luke stood up looking at the shield. "And this needs to be repaired. It's really had a number take on it this last month. Haven't even noticed." He looked disappointed.
"Your mind's been elsewhere. All of our minds have been." Ryan looked down saying and looked at both of them.
"I wonder how Sophie's doing." Mary wondered. "Been so caught up in everything else going on, haven't even checked on her since her arrival and learning about our crazy life we've been keeping a secret." She realized and looked a little sad.
Luke looked at her standing a little closer. "You're very thoughtful Mary, you've been really busy, dealing with a lot."
"Yeah, still. I should've made time to see her sooner. I mean, she's gotta be hurting us as much as all of us." Mary admitted and looked at him directly, for the first time really in quite awhile now.
"I get it Mary. You should do that, tomorrow. Get some rest." He said.
"Okay, alright. That goes for all of us. Especially you Ryan. Doctors orders!" She said, giving a serious glance to listen.
Ryan nodded slowly getting back on her bike. "Yes doctor. I'll be good and rest. Might be a little, a couple of days before I can move to top form again."
They all started to leave, but Luke started to walk out with Mary.
"How are you holding up?" He asked with curiosity and worry.
She gave a shrug. "No idea where my sister is and it looks like a crazy ganglord is going to start making the streets rain with bullets. So it could be better."
With understanding Luke looked sympathetic. "Wish could do more to help you, even with all my knowledge I can't really help much can I?"
"Keeping Ryan alive is definitely helping. One less person to treat." Mary pointed out to make him feel a bit better.
He didn't seem convinced looking down. "Anyhow, would you maybe uh, like any company at all?"
Mary looked at him for a moment thinking it over. "Rain check. Really busy. Can try that again another day. Goodnight Luke."
"Yeah, goodnight Mary."
They all parted ways for the night wondering what exactly the next day would bring them all. With the war brewing of Black Mask's return, nothing good was coming their way evidently.
There was more going on in the city, like soft whimpering could be heard in an alleyway in the middle of nowhere and the confused sister of Kate Kane didn't even know where she was right now. "Can't seem to focus. All those people. These clothes. What happened to me? Why? Why would I hurt my sister?" She questioned herself looking all over shaking her head.
"She deserved it!" The words came out, but it didn't feel right as she covered her mouth hitting her head. "No! She's my sister! I killed her! What is wrong with me? I'm a monster! How did this happen to me?" The woman questioned was puzzled by her own actions trying to understand what was happening. "Oh my dear sister, I'm so sorry. I'll find a way to make this right. I swear."
From there she kept wandering into the night feeling dizzy.
Elsewhere in the city of Gotham a young unassuming blue haired woman was hard at work looking over some supplies. It was challenging work and even harder thinking about the circumstances. What was on wasn't easy, not one bit. Was probably harder keeping it under wraps from prying eyes for the past month knowing what would happen if anybody found out about her little secret.
"I hope this is enough, can't believe this has worked so far." She sighed looking at herself in a mirror then back at her hands holding onto a bag full of medical supplies. "What am I doing? If I trusted anyone in this city I'd have brought you to a hospital. Still, keep hoping you'll wake up soon."
She paced around her apartment now scratching her head. "Gotta do this right, I have to keep going." The woman assured herself taking deep breaths. "I really hope you are fighting hard. I can only do so much. Batwoman." The woman finished saying, walking over to check on the still alive but comatose hero, unknown to the rest of the city and most importantly, her loved ones.
Batwoman
In response to C.G
As you see with how long it took me, I wanted to make sure I had everything in season 3 hopefully understood right.
I also have to say, I did write it a little out of order trying to structure it the best way I could and quite honestly just struggled with some sections. Hope it all turned out okay, having had quite a lot of writer's block. In part for a little furry rambunctious puppy related reason which has been both positive and negative, mainly just less freetime to write. (Uh, that was a few months ago now I realise wow. More recent thought are at the very bottom)
I'm very glad you enjoyed the season 2 finale so much, very nice you enjoyed it so much. I apologise for the wait you've had since. I'm sorry for misunderstanding with those two examples you gave, I hope neither of those make the story much weaker. I see that it would've been better doing it as you visualised. Glad though everything was perfect besides that. Happy for that too, thought it'd be important giving Harper Row that little cameo there. Hope this return chapter meets your expectations too, might've been a little rusty, but certainly hope I wasn't.
In regards to "Armageddon" - Okay, I believe that I understand what to do, will make it an extended chapter to hopefully have enough time to explore all of that version of part 4. I can't say exactly how long I'll end up making it right now, it could be pretty big. Honestly with the rate I'm going that's still a bit far off starting that, it might be a bit jarring to write for me switching to the crossover story. It makes sense that Beth Kane's Batwoman would be really important to this story, I like that she'd want to get her sister back even at the cost of becoming a super villain again. I love the way you say it would ultimately end with that, very well said. I'm looking forward to trying to write this story, while also being concerned. Sure it'll be fine though.
In regards to Jace Fox - I like that it'd turn out they are only half siblings. Also I like it a lot more that they'd wouldn't know the truth yet and have to deal with the fallout of having learned this about their sibling and father doing that, though I like too a lot they'd just accept that in the end knowing their father loved them all very much. It's very good and I'm looking forward to the Fox family having to deal with that.
In regards to the Supergirl story - I'm grateful you have faith it'll be a great series once I eventually get to it. I'll be sure to keep in mind it takes place five years after season 6 and keep in mind whatever happens with The Flash and Batwoman's continuity to that point too. Hopefully I can get started on it before the year end.
In regards to part two of Phase I of Krauser's plan - That makes perfect sense he'd do that. I think I'll just have him either take them prisoner or keep them watched in secret and bugged to listen in on everything.
Alrighty, I will remember that for the future. The casting of the first three Kane siblings, hope having Martha Kane-Wayne was done right for this chater's casting.
Do you think the other two siblings would ever appear in person? I do like your suggestions for their castings, always trust you for the best decision on it.
That all makes a lot of sense. I will remember to keep that in mind when the time comes to give the history of Phillip and his association with the Court of Owls.
Why Whisper's decision to go on the path of villainy will eventually come back to bite her - I like how that would come back to bite her later when returning later on with her path of villainy and making herself a hypocrite giving Ryan a point with being even more upset about this turn having another example of the person she was.
A reminder about Harper Row's brother, Cullen - Okay thank you for the reminder will be sure to keep that in mind for the present time, it makes sense because of their fallout I remember that. Probably will be just mentions during this season, but we'll see. It makes sense he'd be in a really bad place and be needing Harper to help him before it's too late sounds like it'll be good and Ryan will probably want to get involved to help her out. (Though I guess whenever that happens will figure out if she does help or not)
About the first four episodes of Season 3 - Yeah it does have some parallels to what happened that season. Though you're right about the differences with it there are more than enough to make it be its own thing and a good kick off storyline for this season.
Why Kate doesn't wake up until S3E4 - I can see how it does have some parallels to what happened during season 3 of Supergirl after the Reign "fight." All that sounds good will try to remember to do all that right and add onto it. Like with the hallucination of Gabi Kane and everything, will try to figure those scenes out I think won't be too hard coming up with something hopefully. Alright, I'll try to go with bold or italicized when the time comes don't know which one will decide on yet.
How Batwoman should announce her dramatic return in Gotham in S3E4 - I understand, that sounds like a great idea for Batwoman's return. Will definitely try doing all of that. I also like Krauser's reaction, considering everything he'll be open to it'll be good seeing him have a moment of fear/anger.
Kate's second Batsuit - Thank you for giving more details about this, I love the entire importance behind the second Batsuit. It feels like a big moment. Kinda makes me wish the other shows treated it as important as well. Great thinking.
Ryan's second Black Batsuit - I like that Luke would give her the upgraded suit as well seeing the danger Kryptonite poses to her as well. It's good thinking too that he'd be so protective of them both.
Kryptonite bullets - Yeah, that makes a lot of sense they would pose a major threat still. Sorry if my head is blanking, but did you mention why before? If the suits are more protected against them. I suppose a lot of bullets could be the answer. Just I'd wonder where they'd get so much of them. (Again sorry if forgetting, writing this later have been forgetting some of the pervious stuff going to have to refresh a lot of my memory)
Possible Jacob Kane-centric episode - I think that would be a great idea having a friend of Jacob and showing more about his own life. I like the actor you mentioned as well, have seen bits of a lot of FBI reruns and sure that will continue with the strikes. I like the connection back to one of the survivalists that Jacob recommended to Kate before too good thinking. Think would be a good idea too having him have a recurring role in the series, I think the later seasons Jacob would have less going on from everything discussed so far, so anything more for him to have going on is good and his friendship with that character.
One important fact about Brian Krauser - I like his reasoning for his secret hatred growing all these years. To him it makes sense he wouldn't understand why Jacob would choose Sophie over himself.
Sophie Moore's Season 3 Storyline - Yeah, that makes a ton of sense I thought Sophie would be heading down a darker path during the season completely understandable as she definitely has it the worst this season (overall) sure it would help her having her friends and finally understanding why Krauser has such a deep hate. I thought that too, hope showed it well here know didn't show Sophie too much during this first chapter probably won't too much until Kate's return. I also tried doing that make them sepretated, but also is hard for them as Julia is the only one mostly seeing Sophie anyways despite their current break. I like that Kate urges her to fix things and that she feels guilty for not telling Sophie the truth about herself.
Harper Row - That makes sense giving her that rewind moment, I think might put that into the next chapter at the start perhaps? Will try to do that moment justice. That sounds good, maybe in honesty might be hard to write, as life has followed that part of the story. Hopefully will be able to write better scenes anyways having personal experience with what Ryan is going for after her breakup. Am excited to write Harper and Ryan together finally in a few episodes or so.
Ryan Wilder Season 3 Plot Element - That makes sense that it would get progressively worse throughout the season with Ryan's mental state being in a bad place and not dealing with it. I'm curious how it will progress. I think it will be interesting seeing Ryan finally deal with all the trauma left behind by Scarecrow's actions during her childhood and the events of season 2. Will be good seeing the team have to deal with Ryan's feelings and everything eventually.
Mary's "Superpower" - Yeah I believe that sounds right. I would be interested in showing how others will react. Like potentially Alice might be frustrated by accidentally giving Mary a great deal of help and possibly saving her life by mistake. Could be amusing, I'm not sure just a thought. I think Jacob's reaction could be interesting too.
In regards to Renee Montoya - I like that idea, had thought of something similar probably over a year ago. I think that's a great way of doing it, having her private life being threatened like that and the fear brought on from the fate of her wife being unknown. Sounds like a great episode showing Montoya get pushed so hard and her reflecting on moments though her life. Would be great.
In regards to the Red Death - Okay will keep that in mind (Will probably not say too much with Red Death here and couple other parts cause you mentioned it a few times)
In regards to Alice 2.0 - I think that's an interesting idea of where Alice 2.0 comes from and tying back to Mad Hatter, also using the Tetch virus from Gotham. I really love that how she'd be unique being the only one to be infected by the virus in that way. I love everything around Alice 2.0. Like it too that Renee Montoya would remember this series version of that incident. It makes sense and seems in character Alice 2.0 wouldn't want to be redundant with repeating the outbreak of the virus. Perhaps she doesn't want anyone else to be like her as well for ego reasons or something. Good thinking the cure wouldn't work makes sense considering it was different how she was infected by it. Oh who is the certain someone? I can't remember if we discussed that or not. (A joy of writing over what, 9 months?) Anyway, I'm interested where a certain someone getting infected might go that sounds like a good twist after they believe it's over.
Wow, I took so long to get here Gotham Knights came and went, wild. Anyhow. Okay I'll try to remember to keep that in mind. Honestly never saw that show but will keep in mind her appearance and your points made.
Again, damn I took so long Flash has been gone for a few months now. Will just respond to the later points. Apologies again for taking so long. Feels weird knowing now the Arrowverse is in the past now. My life growing up with superhero tv was mostly thanks to that and now it's over. Feels a bit sad, honestly could be subconsciously why I've taken longer with this.
I was wondering about that myself too thank you for pointing that out, I wrote the chapter with this change in mind (well rewrote a little) Thank you for adding all of that and clarifying a lot of points with the story. Will try to keep all of this in mind for the first few chapters.
That makes sense, I'm sure he'll be quite the threat with the first encounters not being able to see him or what he'll do next. I like he'd decide on teaming up with Krauser after watching seeing the increasing hatred he has for Batwoman grow. Sounds all good with the progression of the season and the alliance with things progressing worse for Team Batwoman even after learning more of what the villains are planning on. All sounds really great.
I understand your feeling of being conflicted about that, not perfectly certain of what I'll do. Might just leave it part of the series I'm not 100% sure. Will think more about it after finishing the chapters concerning Batwoman's return. I think that all sounds good though thank you for the clarifications.
Thank you for clearing up further about when Barry contacts Kate. I appreciate all those clarifications, especially after this long break. Will try my best to keep all of this in mind and collect it all for once I get to this stuff. It was helpful thank you (:
Oh that's interesting, I find it nice how much Wallace had planned ahead with ideas seemingly from what he's said about things. I imagine that would've been the plan to have Ruby Rose play Red Death. Feel like making Bruce Wayne Red Death wouldn't have meant anything for the heroes only really the audience.
I'm curious what you'll decide on with Red Death's appearance. I don't know if I'm remembering wrong or not, but I don't believe Flash ever did end up clarifying why Ryan was missing. She kinda just seemed to show up at the end and help without answering any questions. I could be wrong. Maybe it was part of likely the original plan for the Red Death arc assuming it would've been over a few more episodes had the season not been slashed.
Okay will be sure to remember that, I like that idea where the weapons come from in this version. Makes sense Wayne Enterprises would be so unsecured and disorganised with everything with nobody looking after it anymore. Understandable too they'd be too busy, something is always seeming to happen in Gotham. Perhaps this incident would make them decide on wanting to improve the mess left behind to avoid something like this happening again?
I love everything you put for this series' version of the The Red Death sounds all like great ideas all around. Sounds like a great expansion on the story and set up for the eventual Dark Multiverse threat in the future. Will be certain to remember all of this and that all this will interlude chapters between seasons 3 and 4 should be a good break before beginning the threat of the Three Ghosts coming. Maybe interesting too in a way Kate might point out how strange all these evil Batwomen are appearing around the sametime with seemingly little connections that the team can find.
Yeah that was a nice episode, I was really happy seeing Oliver get to say a proper goodbye to Diggle. (Assuming this is the end) That's an interesting theory. I wonder if that might've been the case, sounds more likely. Or maybe might've had something to do with whatever the Arrowverse Blackest Night could've been.
Okay sounds like a good choice for that character. I think I do somewhat remember seeing part of that casting as always thank you.
That's later news now but yeah, too bad a guess might be the final nail in the Arrowverse is a shame if they don't make anymore comics to continue the story at least. Oh well yeah thank goodness he got to say goodbye then. It's ironic I suppose that "The Boys" spin off show has started as I'm writing this as I assume it's a messed up version of what Justice U would've been. (I'm not watching The Boys and the spin off to much gore for me, more mom though)
Okay that sounds like a good bunch of suggestions, I think it should work perfectly well to make it all a better interlude. Thank you for adding this to everything else with The Red Death.
I think that's a good idea that she's been doing this privately (completely understandable with Gotham's history) Sounds like a good reveal, will try to do that should be interesting. (I hope I will pick a good point and have a couple of thoughts already and will think hard about it) I like that she'd bring up both of those things. Along with making a remark about Supergirl's identity I wonder if Montoya would privately wonder if Maggie was aware of Kare being Supergirl before. I like Maggie's reaction anyways as Alex is definitely a sore spot still and Montoya not meaning to hurt her feelings. I love it as well that she'd have sympathy for her and tell her that about finding the right person. All really great stuff, thanks for the suggestions with Maggie's first appearance.
I like the idea of Maggie talking about her failed relationship, it'd obviously still be bothering her even more with the recent reminders. (I don't believe so either) Get why and like it that Maggie would feel she was being selfish and has regrets self doubting how things went. I love that Kate would be completely understanding of Maggie's feelings and would further bring them together. I can speak from experience how much being heard really helps in similar cases. Great thinking there thanks for adding it.
Thank you, I guess I took that post to heart lol. Kidding, this wasn't intentional this year has been really all over the place. It feels like my head is in a different place every few weeks. Anyways, glad I can finally finally be posting this chapter and I'm silently praying episode 2 won't take nearly as long. Thanks for reminding me about that before it was helpful as I hope I did all that properly. Yeah will figure out the time skip come then I think shouldn't be hard to figure out when the time comes. (Hopefully soon)
Thank you for elaborating on one of the long-term story arcs you suggested. I like the idea of this arc having a personal threat against Andrea Rojas seems like a deep arc from what you detail. I like it a lot as well. It'd be a close family member of William. It was surprising that he died, the main characters didn't really die on Supergirl from what I recall. The final phone call sounds good, also the reasoning behind she'd be unaware of his death until coming home. Can definitely see why all the information she was given and the circumstances would make her seek revenge. Can see as well considering Supergirl would be probably still working there and close to her, that would inferate the family member even more that a hero is seemingly protecting a villain in her eyes. Maybe idk. Anyways, I love the rest of your posting. I'm sure you'll make it even better overtime as it should end up being a strong arc and be a good way of having fallout for William's death. Along with giving Andrea something to do.
Again sorry can't quite say I've got updates for when I'll get to work on this series. I think right now I just want to get Batwoman back on track. Hopefully 2024 will have more promising signs for progress. Thanks for your patience. I don't plan on going anywhere so I will keep at it regardless.
Regarding Spider-Gwen story - Wanted to give an update on this, have been working on it a tad bit. Which is better than nothing I was previously doing. If you have anything to add to that story that'd be helpful, can't say how much progress will do. All I've really done so far is trying to structure the events of the story. (Progress has been slow though lately, that was written a couple months ago was more optimistic than most of the response section you have read though has been from the last couple of weeks though)
The Arrowverse - As it seems things might be over thought I'd give my closing thoughts on the universe. Fitting I guess in a way starting this season of this continuation.
I started with Arrow back as season 2 started (kinda regret but oh well) I liked it though was a bit confused and probably would've enjoyed it more if I saw season 1 first lol. Still got it on dvd during the Christmas holidays and got through all of season 1 before it came back from break.
From there when Flash started I was really really into the show, that was nice times watching both of them and the first crossover. I remember being really excited during those times. Have to say though Arrow season 4 did start to decrease my enjoyment as well as Flash season 4 (cursed number 4 lol) It did pick up from time to time but I will say it became more rocky as I got older. Still I'm glad I stuck around till the end.
I also naturally watched Legends and Supergirl. I like both of them, again up and down, Legends became a little too weird in season 6 in all honesty completely dropped off around there.
I remember Supergirl had probably the most personal impact with Dreamer appearing when I was coming to terms with who I am. Back when I was still uncertain about my feelings and didn't even know if I saw a real trans woman on TV before. Her being a superhero made it even better for me. Out of everything the Arrowverse did, I'll always be grateful for giving the world Dreamer.
Then of course there was Batwoman too. I think I have talked enough about it. I do have to wonder what season 4 might've had. I remember thinking maybe it could've had to do with Black Glove or something considering evil Ryan mentioned Simon Hurt which seemed a bit random. (I never saw season 3, no idea if he showed up there or Black Glove) Oh well whatever.
I guess Superman and Lois will be the final remains of it. Hopefully season 4 ends on a high note as I suppose it'll be the end with all the budget cuts.
(Oh and I never saw Star Girl, shame it was cancelled too)
Goodbye Arrowverse. Thanks for what you did right.
Wow, I can't believe I've actually reached the end of the response section and am almost ready to post. I just want to look over the main story a little more. It's nice knowing I've finally completed this after months of starting and stopping. Is a relief to reach this point. Hope life is okay for you. I am deeply sorry for the struggles you and your family have been having to deal with. Hopefully this episode finally coming out can be a little silverlining. Thanks for waiting all this time.
(Oh and if you think I should do any major or small edits, I'm willing to do that apologies if got too excited about reaching the finish line with the season premier)
