Rooftop in Star City, Night, 2049
Dealing with the newest street gang, the Vertigos, Mia Queen, the Green Arrow, was fighting for her life, and in the back of her mind she had to remind herself that this was not their fault; they were being controlled by someone calling herself "The Countess". One of them swung a what appeared to be a rusty machete at her, that might have taken her arm off, if she hadn't lost it already years ago. Blocking the blade with her bionic left arm; she then pushed kicked her enemy away from her. Activating one of the many functions in her metal arm, Mia fired a cross-bolt arrow into the shoulder of one of her targets.
Coming at her was another wave of enemies, pulling out an explosive arrow from her quiver, Mia fired it at the ground just in front of them as they were coming at her. The arrow detonated and the force of the explosion knocked them on their asses. As felt enemies behind her, Mia backfisted her enemy with her metal arm sending him flying, she knocked the rest back with her bow. Another wave of enemies continued to appear, and Mia was more than outnumbered: she was overwhelmed. Retreating back to the edge of the rooftop, Mia then saw the Vertigos aim their guns at her and open fire on her.
Suddenly, a dark figure dropped down from the sky. The figure spread the retractable wings of his high-exoskeleton suit to cover Mia from the bombardment of gunfire. The suit was entirely black, with the exception of the inside of the wings and of course the emblem on the chest: the emblem of a bat. It was the Batman of Neo Gotham City, Terry McGinnis. "Sup, Babe," Terry greeted his girlfriend, and oh and BTW he was Mia's boyfriend.
"What are you doing here?" Mia asked him, slightly angry.
"Well, right now I'm getting shot at for protecting your fantastic ass," Terry answered his voice a mixture of sarcasm and annoyance.
"Save the flirting and get us out of here!" Mia ordered.
"Hold on to me tight," Terry told her.
"Not the first time you said that to me," Mia remarked with a hint of suggestive behavior that caused Terry to smirk. Doing just that, Mia wrapped her arms around Terry, and the Knight of Tomorrow activated the booster rockets in his feet and flew up into the sky.
Flying for several minutes, across multiple buildings, Terry eventually reached Mia's apartment. Letting go of him, Mia got down, lowering her hood and removing her mask, immediately. Terry did the same, but his mask basically had to deconstruct itself until it revealed to Mia his face. Black hair, Hazel eyes, and an Asian complexion are courtesy of his Irish-Japanese heritage; which made him admittedly hot to Mia; though she made it a habit never to reveal how hot she thought any of her past or current boyfriends were.
"So, seriously, why are you here?" Mia inquired as she turned around.
"Well, you missed our date night?" Terry told her.
"I had a case come up, obviously." She replied but mentioned with a reluctant tone of guilt. "Besides, you missed our last one." She pointed out.
"Yeah, well, I had a case come up too." He replied. "Thank god, for teleporters, otherwise this long-distance thing would be even harder."
"Agreed. So, how she we make up for this?" She said with a certain tone.
Smiling, Terry moved in closer and wrapped his arms around the Emerald archer. "I think we can think of something." He said and gave her a soft kiss, which she returned slowly; smiling as she did so.
Realm of the Spectre
Elsewhere, Oliver Queen, the former Green Arrow and now the Spectre, did what he always did to pass his time in the afterlife; check up on his family. Starting with his kids, Oliver started with Mia and was dismayed when he saw who exactly his daughter was dating now. Looking into the kid, Oliver saw his past as a delinquent and how the death of his father inspired him to become – "Oh, you gotta be kidding me!" Oliver shouted out loud to himself and sighed deeply. "Figures, I spent most of my life thinking Batman was a myth and now my daughter ends up dating him. Or rather the next one." He grimaced.
Author's Notes: The idea of Mia and Terry McGinnis as a couple was just something that popped into my head one day considering their both futuristic successors of famous heroes. I don't know if they'd be a good pairing or not, just something I wanted to try.
Batman Beyond is one of the best versions of Batman, and a childhood favorite of mine. It still kills me to find out that they had a plan for a Batman Beyond movie, but it got scrapped because of James Gunn's DC Reboot. (Nothing against Gunn, I love him as a director, just sucks.) Terry being Asian-American in this story was something done by Sean Murphy's Beyond the White Knight comic, which features an Asian-American Terry McGinnis; apparently, he thought Terry was watching the cartoon and I can see it. I'm also open to any suggestions for fancasts for Terry, if you have any.
In the comic, Earth Prime Hero's Twilight, Mia was shown with a metal arm having lost her original arm in 2049. I wondered why, but I guess it will to remain one of the many unanswered questions in the Arrowverse.
