I had just finished cooking dinner and was setting the table before he came home. Each utensil had to lay perfectly. He would be pissed if it wasn't. As soon as the door opened, the dog, Thunder ran to him. I despised this man with a passion. He ignites every ember of hate in my body. I should have never listened to my so-called father when it came to this man. It doesn't matter how much money the stupid man has.

By the time I woke up, he was gone. It doesn't surprise me anymore. I walked to the kitchen and found a note on the counter. Burnt in the top right corner. It was his signature mark so I knew it was him. We have another stupid business gathering. Not that I had anything important on the agenda but I hate getting dressed up and acting like his perfect, little wife. The note read of him wanting me to wear a short-sleeved, tight, black dress. I decided that I'm not ready for him to see my scars. Instead, I decided on a long-sleeved solid black dress that let my blonde hair shine against it.
