"TRICK OR TREAT?!"
"Arrrrrrggggghhhhhh!"
Lucy screamed at the top of her lungs. She was utterly freaked out by the large sneering pumpkin which had jumped at her from out of nowhere. It grinned sinisterly at the blonde, its narrow eyes and crooked smirk all aglow.
"Ha! Gotcha!"
The voice which had jeered at her ceased Lucy's shriek. Her terrified look disappeared upon realising she had just been pranked. There was no amusement in her gaze as it scrunched into a glare. She directed it towards the pumpkin as it was lowered down to reveal the familiar face which had been hiding behind it.
"Nothing like a good scare on Halloween!" Natsu grinned mischievously. "Eh, Lucy?"
Lucy narrowed her brown eyes at the boy. He never failed to drive the blonde mage nuts with his antics and immaturity. She should've known he'd have some trick planned for her at this time of the year.
"What d'you think of my pumpkin?" Natsu asked, placing what he'd scared Lucy with into her hands. "Good, isn't it?"
Lucy stared at what Natsu had given her. She took in the eyes and mouth which the pink-haired boy had carved into it. She could see that candle that was lighting them up flickering on the inside. The frown on her face made it clear that she was not impressed.
"No," Lucy muttered bluntly.
"No?" Natsu repeated, surprised at her comment. "You don't like my pumpkin?"
"No. It has such a dumb face - just like yours!"
Lucy blew out the candle inside the pumpkin before raising it above her head - to bring it down with all her strength onto Natsu's, splattering it into pieces.
With a huff, the girl folded her arms and marched away, leaving the boy covered in bits of orange skin as thick juice poured down his hair and clothes.
"Geez…" Natsu muttered. "Happy Halloween to you too, Lucy…"
