No Such Luck…or Destiny's Deceit?

Ch 9: Strangers Along The Way

After Roberto, Lori, and Lincoln reunited, somebody came into the scene and it was…

"Luna?" Roberto said, his tone laced with irritation. "What the frick are you doing here, bitch?"

"N-Nothing…" The *not so* musician replied.

Lincoln scoffed and rolled his eyes. "How's the punishment given to you? Was it good?"

Luna shook her head.

"See? That's the result of your rude actions…" Michael replied, his tone sprinkled with a bit of venom.

Lincoln looked at the wall clock. "Darn it…" Lincoln said as he spat on a nearby trash bin in irritation. "30 minutes until the torturous pains of school will start…" He went to the lockers to get some books he will utilize for class.

Class…

Lincoln opened the door, and he had this look of irritation on his face when Fritz asked him. "Lincoln? Are you in a bad mood or something?"

"I'm in a bad mood today, Fritz, so please…just mind your own business." Lincoln said sarcastically as he grabbed his Mathematics textbook.

Fritz had a look of concern plastered on his face, upon Lincoln's change of personality. "Ronalda?"

"What is it, Fritz?" Ronalda said as she turned to Fritz.

"Do you think that Lincoln's…a bit, y'know, sarcastic today?" said Fritz.

"Maybe he's in a frustrated mood today…" Cassidy said.

Their substitute teacher Mr. Harrison then rushed in the door. "Sorry, I'm late, kids…your bone-headed principal told me off again…"

"I HEARD THAT!" Said Principal Jones from outside.

Alexander Harrison just scoffed in response, then put his stuff on the table. He then took a piece of chalk and wrote his name on the board. "Hello, kids, my name is Mr. Alexander H. Harrison, and I will be your substitute for today since Mrs. Johnson is on a vacation trip to Japan."

"Hello, Mr. Harrison!" The kids greeted their substitute teacher.

Mr. Harrison grabbed his Mathematics book and said. "First subject for today…Mathematics." The teacher said. "Turn your books to chapter 5, which is on pages 7 to 10."

The students did as told, and the teacher then said, "OK, kids, I will explain the topic first so you all can understand and know about the subject."

Mr. Harrison explained the decimal place value, much to the students' dismay because of the complexity of it and every place value is a power 0f ten.

"For example, twenty-five and nine hundred thirty thousandths." He wrote the respective digits of the decimal on the board.

Then he kept explaining for the past 3 minutes, and then sat on his table.

Lincoln then answered all 10 questions in his textbook. Fritz, Ronalda, and Cassidy are having private conversation and it is about…Lincoln.

Later at lunch…

The students rushed to the cafeteria. Lincoln went and paid for his food, and started eating. Later, he finished eating and put his food tray on the counter, and went to the corridors, peacefully walking around.

Lincoln was humming a tune, so as to keep his frustration at bay. And damn, dealing with his superstitious sisters must have been a pain in the ass for the 11-year-old Loud.

Later, he came across Lana and Lola. The 11-year-old Loud sighed in and out. "Hey, guys…"

"H-Hey, Lincoln…" Lola said. "We just want to give you an apology…"

Lincoln's discomfort changed to annoyance and irritation. As such, he scoffed and walked away from the twins, putting his hands into his pockets.

"He didn't let us apologize to him…" Lana said, with tears falling out of his eyes.

Cassidy and her younger brother Gabriel came into the scene.

"Hey, Gabriel…"

"Hey, Lana and Lola…" Gabriel said, irritation running through his veins. "…how was the good luck Lincoln brought you?"

"W-Wait, Gabriel, h-how did you know?" Asked Lola, shocked upon what Cassidy's little brother had just said.

"I check the security feed at your home…" He smiled. "It's a good thing, your sister Lisa put hidden CCTVs everywhere around your house."

Cassidy then fished for her tablet, and showed the video feed to the twins.

In the first footage, at 7 AM, a few weeks ago on Monday, Lola was shown telling Lincoln to put on the suit, because she had a test she didn't study hard enough for.

In the second footage, a few days ago, Lana was shown hog-tying Lincoln and asking him to go to her alligator-wrestling tournament.

In the last footage, which was recorded on the same timeframe, Lynn Jr. was shown telling Lincoln to keep the suit on for good luck.

"What a bunch of heartless monsters…" Cassidy said.

The bell rang, meaning they should head back to class. Lincoln sighed, knowing that he will suffer the pains of class for the next 2 hours.

Home-time…

The students got on the bus, and zoomed off straight home.

In the Emily residence…

They ate dinner, and the Emily parents engaged in a talk with Lincoln.

"You have been here since Monday…"

"I know…but it's to take a break from my sisters…they're the source of my frustration…"
