Anybody who ever knew Snow White would say that she must have been cursed since birth. Her mother passed away shortly after childbirth, her beloved father also passed on when she was only nine years old, and since then her monstrous stepmother has made her into a servant in her own castle. Despite their fear of the wicked Queen's wrath, the servants of the castle and citizens of the kingdom had nothing but pity for their poor princess. They would whisper to each other "An angel was born in hell."
Yet those who knew her, or were lucky enough to come across her, never saw her broken. Even though she had been stripped of her rightful status as princess and forced to live in rags and sleep in a dreary cramped room, she always acted like everything was perfectly normal. The servants and townspeople would wonder to themselves "How can this be? This is a girl who lost her status, her father, and has known little happiness in her life. How can she still be so calm and full of hope?"
Unknown to everybody, Snow White didn't feel alone. While her beloved father was still around, he taught her to pray to the Good Lord and her dearly departed mother every night. One night when she was just eight years old, she asked him why he was so devoted to praying. This is what he had to say:
"Being King and a single father isn't easy. Everybody looks to you for guidance or relies on you to solve all of your problems. Many times you just have to make the best of situations and try to make the right choices in life. When I pray, I don't feel so alone. I feel like the Good Lord is with me in my struggles. Plus, it allows me to feel close to your mother's spirit since she is no longer with me physically. So, if I'm not here for you, trust in God. He will stand with you throughout your journey until you rejoin me and your mother in heaven. Promise me, Snow, that you will never lose faith."
Papa was such a wise man, so of course she made a vow with him at that very moment. Yes, she was a princess who had been made into a servant in her own castle but she felt the love and guidance of the Lord and her parents every time she prayed to them before going to bed. Later on in life, she felt that by believing in them, her life had indeed turned around. They led her to become part of a new family with the dwarves and even found love with Prince Florian. She will continue to keep faith as she now rebuilds her father's kingdom and restores hope in their citizens.
