The Tamer v1.3 - The Other Tamer

Chapter 11 - Return of the Trickster

It was so quiet that all Kari could hear was her own heart beating inside her chest.

Kari just stared at where Tamer had been just a moments ago - through the tear into the Digital World where he reached out to them. She couldn't forget the blank, mindless stare that overtook his face as he lost the last vestiges of himself to the infection that overtaken each of their digimon. The reset happened with their digimon on the other side of the gate - they were gone. It was hard to imagine what any of the others were thinking in that moment.

Kari wanted to believe that it wasn't too late - that there was still a chance that their digimon were fine. But who would she be fooling if she did? Their digimon were all in the Digital World when the reset happened. Which meant they were gone. And Tamer was there, too. Did that mean he was gone?

Was the last vestige of her brother gone forever?

Why did he do it? What did putting them all into the Digital World accomplish? Why?

Why?

WHY!?

"We have to go to the Digital World," Sora said quickly, reaching for her digivice. She fumbled through her pockets for it when her D-Terminal beeped. All of their D-Terminals beeped at the same time. It was Davis reaching out with a single message - 'Is everything okay? Timer hit zero and I haven't heard anything.'

The silence continued as they all read the message off their D-Terminals. None of them knew what to say and the fact they all hesitated for so long led to the next message.

'Guys! The timer hit zero and nobody's said anything. Are our digimon okay?'

It was obvious just from his message that Davis was panicking. And if Kari knew anything about him, he'd already figured out what happened. He just didn't want to say it. None of them wanted to either. Kari put her D-Terminal away and looked up at the others, seeing that they were all standing there in shock, "I'll go talk to Davis."

"I'll come with," TK joined quietly. "I…I don't…think you should…"

TK was barely able to hold himself together as his sentence hung unfinished. In the end, he choked on his unfinished sentence as he broke down into sobs. TK started sinking down to the ground, hands over his face. Matt hurried to his brother's side to hug him, patting his back while choking back tears of his own.

Kari recalled when the others talked about the first time TK lost Patamon. It seemed the wound was just as fresh for him as losing Tai was for her. That thought hung onto her. How did it still hurt after all this time? How did seeing Tai die again hurt so much!? First, when he died all those years ago at Highton View Terrace. Again at New Year's. But every time it hurt as much as the last time. It was like a horrible nightmare forcing her to relive the same event over and over again.

She just wanted to wake up from this horrible dream. That's what this had to be, right? Just a horrible dream.

No, it was real. This was real. Denying that reality…running away from it wouldn't help anything.

Kari's head began to spin and the ground beneath her feet began to shake. She almost toppled over if it weren't for the fact that Sora rushed towards her and caught her. "Are you okay?"

Kari tried to answer but couldn't get the words to come out of her mouth. She was barely able to keep herself standing. If Sora hadn't been standing there, Kari was sure she would've collapsed onto the grass by then. Her mind raced. Her breathing became fast and shallow. The world around her darkened.

And then there was darkness.

Meiko sat in her bed, staring down at her digivice and burying herself in the guilt of feeling so useless. If she had been stronger, or smarter, or…anything, maybe none of this would've happened. Meicoomon would've still been here and not infected like all the others. If the last few days taught her anything, it's that she truly was helpless. She couldn't even find Meicoomon when she went missing.

She wished she were like Kari. Her digimon could actually digivolve and she seemed so…mature. The moment everything went to crap, Kari didn't just lock up in terror. She might try to run to get herself out of danger, but she would also go back into help.

The fact that so many of the digidestined were younger especially made Meiko feel so…pathetic. These were middle schoolers! And they just seemed so…much braver than her.

"Hey! Don't be so down. Things were out of your control. That's not your fault! You weren't supposed to win…or succeed. Not much you can do about destiny."

Meiko looked up from her digivice to see a strange boy with spiky brown hair wearing a white robe over a skin tight black suit. He sat casually on her desk - literally on the desk and using her chair as a foot rest. He swatted away a few notebooks and pencils to make room for himself. Meiko froze, completely taken aback by the boy in front of her. How did he get in her room? The door was locked and the window was closed! A big toothy smile appeared on his face, contrasted only by a twisted look in his eye, as he stared down on her. He leapt off her desk to land at the foot of her bed, his arms raised above his head. "Be not afraid! For I am your savior, come to show you the way to salvation! Will you not partake of the absolution that I offer?"

Whatever fear she felt gave way to the patent absurdity of whatever was happening in front of her. Why was this kid talking like one of those preachers she'd see asking for money? More importantly, why was he dressed liked one? He couldn't have been more than ten. Eleven at the most. Whatever the reason, she wanted to make sure he didn't find her purse or wallet. Maybe she should hide her piggy bank too to be safe.

He noticed her reaction and his shoulders slumped to the side, "Too much? Yeah I thought so, too. It feels kinda silly now. Boy, hindsight, huh?"

As he said that, he sat down on her bed and crossed his legs while leaning backwards. "Anyway, how you doing? Feeling in the slumps over everything?"

"Who are you?" Meiko finally managed to blurt out a little louder than she intended.

The boy blinked a few times as he stared at her, "Oh, did I skip that part again? I thought I was getting better at introductions! Hang on!"

He leapt back off her bed, took a moment to straighten out his clothes and smooth out his hair before turning around to face her, "Hello, Meiko! You can call me The Trickster and I'm here to help!"

And now Meiko was back to being fearful and distrusting of the boy in front of her. What the hell kind of a name was Trickster? She scooted away from him, leering as the boy offered her his biggest and friendliest smile. Trickster either didn't notice her uneasiness, or didn't care as he continued. "Help you become a stronger person! Help you become who you were meant to be! And, more importantly, help you reunite Meicoomon!"

"Meicoomon?" Meiko repeated, now finally giving her full attention to the young boy in front of her. Without realizing it, she'd stood up from her bed but stopped herself short of approaching the boy. He was close enough as it was to her.

The Trickster nodded and his smile grew wider. "Of course! Your little partner is more important than you realize. Than anyone realizes, I think! Which is why I am going to help make you sure you two find each other!"

"Why would you help me? Better yet, why should I trust you? Your name is literally The Trickster!" Meiko asked, pointing an accusing finger at them. Trickster frowned and furrowed his brow, but his smile remained plastered across his face and unflinching before her.

"You're right, you can't really trust me. But then again, what choice do you really have? Unless you want to just sit here and keep crying over Meicoomon and how useless you are?" The Trickster taunted her. "You can keep sitting here if that sits well with you. Moping. Wallowing in teenage angst. Personally, I don't see why you'd want to keep on doing it but I don't know why you humans do what you do."

Meiko dwelled on that for a moment - she didn't want to just keep sitting here, feeling helpless and useless. But she'd have to be an idiot to listen to anything a kid named The Trickster would have to say. Unless he wanted her to not listen to him? The harder she thought on it, the less sure she became of what this boy was trying to do. Her head began to spin as she tried to make sense of what he was after. But a new question came to mind as she tried to unravel his intentions. "How could you even help me? You're just a kid!"

Trickster's smile continued to stare back at her, as if to reassure her that he could be trusted. But Meiko didn't find any comfort in that smile, just more doubt and uncertainty. The fact that he sounded amused by her question certainly didn't help. "Did you miss the part where I said 'you humans'? I'm not human like you or the others. I'm a Digital Agent. My species predates yours by a long time you underevolved pond scum. So how about you stop doubting me for a few minutes and consider that the being of incredible power and intelligence beyond your comprehension is just trying to help."

"You're trying to help me but your name is The Trickster," Meiko pointed out matter of factly, seriously doubting just how intelligent this boy was claiming to be.

"And my name is The Trickster! And! Grammar is very important," he said as if he were correcting her. Now she was definitely sure he wasn't as smart as he claimed to be - unless he was mocking her for being skeptical. It was really hard to tell where things stood when it came to this boy. No matter how she considered the situation, the fact was that she just couldn't quite figure out what he was trying to accomplish. "It's a good thing you're following along! I was worried because your kind can be kind of slow when it comes to this sort of thing. So how about getting the gang back together? You and Meicoomon against the world! With my help, you'll be able to get to the Digital World and reunite with little Meimei!"

That caught her attention, and Meiko's eyes narrowed, "How did you know that name?"

Trickster stared at her blankly, "That is what you call her, isn't it?"

"It is. So how do you know that?" Meiko asked. "That was my nickname for her. But I've never met you before. And she's never mentioned you. So how do you know that?"

Trickster blinked at her, staring as if she'd started drooling in front of him. After a moment of being stared at like she was an idiot, Trickster finally answered, "What part of intelligence beyond comprehension did you miss? Maybe I gave you too much credit. You're not as smart as I thought you were."

"All the intelligence in the world wouldn't let you know her nickname. Especially not a nickname only I used," Meiko hissed at the boy standing before her. "So how do you know that name?"

"That's why I said intelligence beyond comprehension. You must pay attention if I'm going to keep helping you. Do try and keep up," Trickster insisted, continuing to treat her like she was stupid. But she wasn't going to fall for…whatever this was. No, she'd made up her mind now. She wanted nothing to do with The Trickster or anything he could've been up to.

"I don't know what you're after but you can get out," Meiko said, pointing towards the door.

Trickster merely scoffed, placing a hand to his chest in mock offense, "I come here offering help and a chance for you to be reunited with your best friend. And you repay my generosity by asking me to leave? How rude yet totally not unexpected."

Meiko frowned, "You literally appeared in my bedroom! Uninvited, by the way! You were rude first!"

Trickster grunted his disapproval and his smile finally disappeared, replaced with a grimace. The twisted look in his eye remained, proving to her that his smile had never been genuine. Although, now he seemed genuinely more dangerous than he had a second ago - like someone who no longer had anything left to lose. That was when he reached into his back pocket and produced a digivice - only it was older and the markings were more faded than hers. "I just want you to know that I didn't want to do this. But you forced my hand."

He pointed the digivice at her and Meiko gasped as she prepared for whatever he was about to do to her. Only instead he pointed it towards her door and uttered the phrase, "Digiport open."

A bright white crack appeared before in the air between her and the door, slowly expanding open until it was the size of a large door. Brilliant white light poured out from the other side, illuminating her room like the sun. She threw up her hands to shield her eyes from the blinding light, but it also blocked her from seeing whatever that brat of a kid was doing.

"You'll change your mind. And when you do, I'll be there," the Trickster uttered angrily, stepping across the threshold into the light. As it faded away, Meiko could vaguely make out the small boy leering at her from the other side of the door way he'd made. And then it slammed shut with a gust of wind that sent everything flying off her desk and knocking over a few things from her bed side table.

Meiko was annoyed at the mess Trickster left for her, but she was at least relieved that he was long gone. He was so determined to get her to go to the Digital World. But with a name like the Trickster, how could she even think about trusting him? No, the sane thing to do would be to stay here in her room. But what if that was what he wanted? To keep her here.

No, that wasn't right. She could sit here in circles trying to figure out what he was doing, but the truth was she was out of her depth and she'd never be able to figure it out on her own.

No, there really was only one thing to do in this case. She'd have to reach out to the digidestined and see if they knew what to do. She hurried towards her bedroom door but stopped short of the handle, her hand hovering the handle fearfully as a single thought crossed through her mind. Would they even want to talk to her? Especially after Meicoomon killed Leomon?

They probably wouldn't. But that didn't mean she shouldn't try. She turned the handle and hurried out the door.

Kari cracked her eyes open to see her mom leaning over her. A relieved smile crossed her face as she sighed, "Good, you're awake. I was worried when Sora brought you in."

Kari sat up, taking her surroundings in carefully. She was back in her apartment, on her living room couch. Sora and Jun were sitting on the other side of the living room. And on seeing them, her mind went back to Davis and the Digital World reset. Their digimon were gone because Tamer took them all to the Digital World.

Kari felt a vast emptiness inside of her chest as she recalled the sight of all their digimon turning feral and mauling each other.

"How are you feeling?" Jun asked, stepping to her side and putting a hand to her head. "It looks like your temperature's down so that's good."

"Like I was hit with a shit ton of bricks," Kari said absentmindedly, before remembering her mom was the first face she woke up to. Thankfully, her mother chose to either ignore it or to pretend to not have heard it. Either way, Kari was just grateful that her mom wasn't on her case right now. Kari adjusted on the couch to face Jun, surprised to see her here of all people. She expected her to be with Davis back at the hospital. "How's Davis?"

"Probably still freaking out about you to be honest," Jun smiled jokingly. "You know how that kid gets. He's freaking out about you and Veemon and the other digimon. He's mad that he couldn't be there and even madder when he found out you passed out. But forget about him. Are you okay?"

"I'm…fine I guess," Kari said quietly, running a hand through her hair to get the strands out of her face. She could still feel the sweat from her brow, and realized she must've been feverish while unconscious. She hadn't gotten like that since she was younger. Which was odd because she wasn't as sickly since she'd gotten older. She finally realized how dry her throat was and looked to her mom. Could I have a glass of water?"

"Sure thing. I'll put a bit of lemon in it to make it extra refreshing," her mom said. Kari was sure she wasn't. Then again, the stress of everything was likely getting to her. The glass of water was the best thing she'd ever tasted and she drank the whole thing in a single go.

"I've never seen you drink anything I've made so fast. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I you didn't actually like the taste of my food," her mom joked. Kari took great care not to respond, giving her mom the glass back and massaging the bridge of her nose.

"How long was I out?" she finally managed to ask.

"About a day. You should message Davis when you get a chance so that he chills out. He's going to be happy to know you're up but that probably won't stop him coming over first thing tomorrow," Jun said, placing her hands on her hips and tilting her head up disapprovingly.

Kari was surprised, "Tomorrow? Are they discharging him?"

"Yeah. He's all better now, but mom wanted him to stay another day just to make sure he actually was okay. You know how mom's get," Jun said, eyeing Kari's mom as she fetched another glass of water. That was a relief to hear - Davis was better. He was probably throwing a fit and trying to sneak out of his hospital bed while his parents wrestled him back in the head. It put the smallest smile in her face, and she really could use something to smile about right now.

"How are the others?" Kari asked, trying not to dwell on TK's barely restrained sobs.

Sora took a deep breath, sighing as he paused to answer. After a long while, she finally broke her silence, "Matt is with TK right now. He took everything pretty hard. Poor guy was really broken up. Mimi and Izzy are…well, they're both pretty broken up, too. Mimi's upset about Palmon and Izzy is blaming himself for not being able to prevent the digimon from being infected. Joe went back to work but I think he's just trying to distract himself. Ken is…well, I can't really read him well. I don't know if Yolei is comforting him or if he's comforting her. As for Cody…well, I've never seen him lash out like that so I think it's safe to say that he's mad."

It sounded like everyone was taking it hard and trying to process it in their own way. But it seemed like she was the only one who fainted which Kari couldn't help feeling just a little bit embarrassed. This wasn't the time for her to wallow in embarrassment though. They had to go to the Digital World. If it had been rebooted, that meant that their partners were alive and well, right?

Or at least, some version of their partners had to be alive and well, right? That had to account for something. She looked up to Sora, "So when are we going to the Digital World?"

"I don't know. I think everyone just needs a little time," Sora said quietly, her eyes going downward. Sora's eyes glazed over but she took a deep breath to stop herself from breaking down entirely. Jun came up to the girl and hugged her close. Sora returned the hug, and Kari heard just the smallest sob finally escape from the older girl. Kari's heart sank lower as Sora did her best to maintain her composure in front of her.

"Once we're all set, we're going to the Digital World to find our partners. We don't know what's going on with the Ternary Virus, but we're not going to leave our partners there to deal with it alone," Sora said. Kari nodded along, relieved that they'd be going to save their partners soon. Hopefully, they weren't infected by the virus again - Kari couldn't bare to imagine what would happen if their partners were infected and lost themselves to the infection again.

But then there was also the fact that Tamer was in the Digital World when the reset happened to. The last vestige of her brother…was he rebooted back in the Digital World too?

She was pulled from her thoughts by a knocking at the door, and she looked over to see her father greeting Meiko at the door. Meiko bowed to her father and asked, "Excuse me, sorry. Is Kari here? I'm a friend of hers."

"Yeah…uh," her dad stammered and looked over his shoulder, "Kari? Do you know this girl?"

"I do, let her in," Kari said, watching in confusion as Meiko quietly came into the apartment. She made a display of leaving her shoes as the door and apologizing for entering, before joining them in the living.

"Sorry for coming over unannounced like this. I didn't mean to be a bother," Meiko said sheepishly.

"It's no bother at all. Would you like anything to drink?" her mom offered cheerily.

Meiko waved her hands off, "No, thank you."

"What are you doing here all, Meiko? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Sora asked.

"Before that, how did you know where I lived?" Kari said quickly, watching as Meiko opened her mouth to answer only for nothing to come out. Meiko stared blankly at Kari for a moment, losing herself in thought for an uncomfortably long time.

And when Meiko finally spoke, her answer was far from reassuring. "I have no idea how I knew where you lived. It's weird…it's like I just knew to come here."

Kari didn't like the sound of that and looked over to Sora. It was plain to see that they were both thinking the same thing. Meiko knew to come somewhere she shouldn't have known. Another possible change to destiny. Jun must've noticed the exchanged glance and leered, "Hey! Do you two wanna clue me in to what's happening?"

Sora put a hand on the girl's shoulder, "Sorry, we'll fill you in later. So, Meiko! What brought you over?

Jun grunted her disapproval but sat back down on the couch, crossing her arms and looking to Meiko. Meiko eyed them all nervously, suddenly becoming very self-conscious of whatever she wanted to say. She'd probably just realized how absurd it was that she knew where to find Kari's apartment even though she didn't actually know where it was. The poor girl shifted nervously in her seat until she could finally bring herself to answer, "A really weird kid appeared in my bedroom calling himself The Trickster."

Kari's eyes widened at the sound of that name - the last time the Trickster showed up was when digimon started appearing all over the world. So why would he be appearing now? Their expressions were hard to miss and Meiko asked nervously, "Is something wrong? Do you guys know him?"

"Yeah…he's an Ancient, like Tamer," Sora said quietly.

"I think he called himself an Agent," Meiko pointed out sheepishly. Sora and Kari both groaned, surprising the poor girl. "Sorry! I didn't think it was that big of a deal!"

Sora waved it off, "That's the problem! It really isn't. They go by so many names that it really shouldn't matter but they always make a big deal about using the correct phrase."

Sora paused to cool down when she noticed Meiko flinching. Kari was quick to add, "All you need to know is he's like Tamer if Tamer was actively trying to make things worse."

"Didn't he point a gun at your head?" Meiko asked, bringing up that memory which Kari didn't need right now. But there was no point trying to explain it, because nothing could really justify having that gun to her head.

Thankfully, Jun changed the subject by grumbling, "I swear, you guys must be making some of that stuff up. Ancient? Agent? How many other names are there?"

"So what did Trickster want?" Kari asked quickly, trying to change the subject as quickly as possible.

"He wanted to help me go to the Digital World and reunite with Meicoomon," Meiko answered. Once again, Sora and Kari exchanged anxious looks and both girls were on the same train of thought. Should they go to the Digital World or would it be better to stay in their world? Trickster wanted them to go…but was that part of some plan to keep them from going by making them think he wanted them to go, or was that because he had something waiting for them when they got there. Either way, Kari wasn't sure what she wanted to do now.

"If you two are going to keep doing that, you could at least fill me and Meiko in!" Jun protested, slapping Sora with one of the couch pillows.

Sora caught the pillow before it hit her and sighed nervously, "Sorry, it's just…his name is literally the Trickster! If he wants you to do something, it's probably better to not do it."

"Unless he knows you know, then it's because he's counting on you not wanting to do it so you have to do it," Kari added. "This is confusing."

"Ugh, I know," Sora said, pinching the bridge of her nose.

Jun's mouth hung open and she went cross eyed as she tried to comprehend, "What the hell kinda mind games is he playing?"

Kari retrieved her D-Terminal. This wasn't something that they need right now. "This makes things more complicated. I'll let the others know. I don't think this is something any of us should have to talk about alone."

The digidestined met the next day under the same bridge as they had before. The mood was somber and everyone hung their heads quietly as they gathered there one by one. Only Davis came with an air of determination to him, but that was likely because he'd spent so much time cooped up in the hospital and was ready to do something - anything - to get their partners back. Once they were all there, Meiko explained her visit with the Trickster again. After which, Sora cleared her throat, "So what do we do? Are we still going to the Digital World to save our partners?"

"Of course we are! Why are even discussing this! I'm going to find Palmon no matter what!" Mimi protested angrily.

"That's right! I was out for everything! There's no way I'm just gonna sit back again because of what some creepy kid said!" Davis added, pumping his fist with the same fiery determination he always demonstrated. Kari had to admit that it was just a little bit hot to see, but she pushed those thoughts from her mind as she reminded herself that she needed to be thinking about their digimon.

"It's not that simple. Remember, Homeostasis said that the Digital World would be restored from a back up. A previous version of the Digital World. We have no idea if our partners will be there. And even if they are, we have no idea if they'll be the same partners we remember," Joe pointed out, ever the one who was being both reasonable and bringing down the mood.

"And even if we went, it's obvious that The Trickster wants us to go," Cody added. "For all we know, us going means us walking into a trap."

"To be fair, he met with Meiko which means he only wants her to go," Matt argued. "That had nothing to do with any of us."

"As far as we know. Maybe he met with Meiko on her own because he knew she'd come to us," Joe countered.

"And that's the problem. If he wanted us to know, that can only be part of his plan," Ken said. "The problem is what is his plan? Did he want us to not go? Or did he want us to think he wanted us to go, so that we would think he didn't want us to go, so then we'd end up going anyway."

"Was any of that supposed to make sense?" Mimi complained, now massaging her temples. "So wait, his plan is for us to go by making us not want to go by telling us he wants to…okay, yeah, this is getting dumb. What is happening?"

"We're trying to figure out if this is a trap or not," Izzy clarified for her, taking her hand in his and giving it a small squeeze. Mimi appeared to relax and smiled softly.

"We're not going to find out by just sitting here all day talking to each other! I'm going to go save Veemon! If any of you want to come, awesome! Everyone else can sit back and watch us kick some serious ass!" Davis said proudly, if perhaps just a little too eagerly to volunteer himself and others for uncertain danger. Then he turned to Kari with that big toothy grin of his. "You'll come too, right Kari? We'll find Gatomon and Veemon together!"

Kari felt at least a little reassured hearing Davis talk to her like that. But then saw his bandaged arm and remembered he'd gotten mauled by Gatomon after the infection had taken over her. And she couldn't bear to see him get hurt again for sake. Last time, Gatomon put him in the hospital. There was no telling what would happen if they went to the Digital World now without their partners there to protect them.

The thought of Davis lying dead in front of her made her heart stop. And she was only snapped out of it by Davis lifting up her chin with his finger, "Hey. Don't leave me hanging. We'll do it together!"

Kari wanted to nod. The idea of Davis getting hurt, or worse dying in the Digital World made her freeze up again. No, she wouldn't be able to bare his death. But she couldn't stop him from going. She had to know that better than anyone - once Davis set his mind to something, there wasn't much that could dissuade him. Which meant there was only one thing she could do to protect him. And that was to go with him and make sure he didn't do anything to get himself hurt again.

"Yeah. We'll go," Kari finally managed to say.

"I'm in too," Matt agreed too, perhaps a little too quickly since Sora shot him a glare. Matt quickly added, "Look, maybe there is a trap. Maybe there isn't. I'm not really in the mood for any destiny or Ancient crap right now, especially since Tamer was completely blindsided by that virus. What I am in the mood for is getting our friends back, no matter what."

"I'm one hundred percent the same!" Mimi said excitedly. "I'm going home right now to pack some stuff for the trip."

"Pack? How long do you think you're going to be there?" Joe asked incredulously.

"Well, last time we were there for a couple of weeks. Maybe months. I don't really remember. What I do remember is spending a long time wearing the same pink dress and living off of nuts, berries, and whatever our partners could forage for us! Which I am not doing again! If we're going, we're going prepared!" Mimi said quickly, hurrying back off towards her apartment. At least, she was until she stopped in her tracks and pointed a finger at Joe. "Wait one second. What did you mean you? Joe, are you staying behind?"

"N-no," Joe stammered quickly. "But I'm not an idiot who's planning on not coming back any time soon. I mean, we have digivices and the means to open the gate between our worlds whenever we need to. The way I see it, we just come back each night so that we're not out camping all the time."

"I…uh…" Mimi paused, as it became obvious that it didn't occur to her that they could just go back and forth between the Digital World and their world.

Joe caught on to this and added, "See? It pays to give these things just a little thought."

"And what's going to happen if we can't come back? What if that's The Trickster's end game? To get us all to go to the Digital World so that we get stuck there?" Ken reasoned. "There's no harm in bringing along at least a light amount of clothes and food just in case."

"Okay. So quick show of hands: who's all going?" Sora asked, while raising her own. Kari reluctantly threw up her own hand along side Davis, and felt just a little bit ashamed that the others weren't as hesitant to throw up their hands. Even Meiko threw up her hand quickly, although it was obvious she was nervous about it. Sora nodded, "Okay, then it's settled. Everyone head home and pack a change of clothes and some snacks. We'll meet back here in an hour and head out to the Digital World."
