Chapter 3 'Overwhelming Rage'
Synthe's rage upon learning of Sharky's kidnapping far exceeded Elarion's anger. She even vented her frustration on Luna for her perceived negligence. Synthe eventually calmed down, reassured by Elarion's continuous promises that they would recover Sharky.
Aragorn, too, was infuriated. Though he had given up his hopes of becoming king when Sharky was declared as the heir, he had grown fond of the young prince. Sharky's curiosity and innocence had endeared him to the entire Sylvarion Kingdom.
Preparations were quickly made for their journey. A line of Nature Ships, followed by Nature Bikes, and the grand World Ship, reserved for King and Queen, stood ready. Inside the World Ship, Elarion and Synthe occupied the royal seats, with Elysia and Freya nearby.
The army took a step forward as they soared toward Somtar Kingdom.
Somtar Kingdom was known for its relatively chaotic state, despite being ruled by King Natwar. The king, often preoccupied with his amorous pursuits, had limited control over his kingdom.
As Natwar was interrupted by a knock at his chamber door, he was initially furious. However, upon discovering it was his Prime Minister Siddhu, he understood the gravity of the situation.
Natwar, attempting to quell Siddhu's panic, inquired, "Siddhu, calm yourself. Why are you so alarmed? What has happened?"
Siddhu explained, "King, our watchtower reported a massive army approaching us. They are dressed like Elves, and the only Elven kingdom in proximity is Sylvarion."
Understanding the severity of the situation, Natwar knew it was a dire predicament. Elves were more powerful than humans, and the Human-Elf Peace Accord dictated that they couldn't attack humans without just cause.
"Well, we'll see why they've come to us. Despite their strength, they can't breach the peace agreement without a legitimate reason," Natwar stated, well aware of the terms of the Human-Elf Peace Accord. It specified that no human kingdom could kidnap an Elf, nor could any Elven kingdom attack humans without valid justification.
Natwar swiftly summoned his ministers to prepare for the grand reception of the Sylvarion Kingdom, not yet fully aware of the reasons behind their visit. He hoped that a warm welcome would help defuse the situation.
As the World Ship approached Somtar Kingdom, Elarion and Synthe descended from it and were greeted by King Natwar.
"Elven King and Queen, why have you graced our kingdom with your presence? If you had given the word, we would have been at your service," Natwar said, emphasizing his readiness to cooperate.
"King Natwar, we didn't wish to burden your kingdom, but our son was kidnapped by a group of slave traders. We require their information," Elarion explained, maintaining a calm and polite demeanor despite his underlying anger.
"What! Someone dared to kidnap your son? Who has the audacity? Please give me some time; I will locate them," Natwar exclaimed, showing concern for his own kidnapped son, knowing that the Elves held their kin in high regard.
"You need not waste any time; we already know their attire," Elarion replied, displaying the emblem of the Bajra Dal mace.
"Siddhu, find out who they are and where they can be found," Natwar instructed Siddhu.
Siddhu discreetly moved to the corner to share information with the king about the Bajra Dal.
"What's wrong, Siddhu? Do you need more assistance?" King Natwar inquired.
"No, Your Majesty, but you are aware that the symbol is of the Bajra Dal, a group that often supplies Elven slaves," Siddhu informed King Natwar.
"So what? Even if they are a sizable group, it's the Elves' concern. My only task is to provide their location," Natwar responded, attempting to ease Siddhu's worries.
"No, Your Majesty, the Bajra Dal is not a large organization, but their manager is a member of the Vishwa Parishad Kingdom," Siddhu elaborated.
Natwar was taken aback by this revelation. He knew about the Vishwa Parishad Kingdom's might, and its reputation for engaging in dubious activities. He realized that he couldn't simply hand over the Bajra Dal's information. So, he needed a plausible excuse.
"Elf King, just now my Prime Minister Siddhu explained that in my Kingdom, there is no group with these symbols," Natwar provided a plausible excuse, hoping to deceive the Elves, as he believed they had no detailed knowledge of his kingdom.
However, as the saying goes, a woman's intuition can be keen. Synthe promptly employed her Time Power on Natwar, observing their recent conversation.
Natwar felt a mix of amazement and guilt as he noticed a screen materializing on the table, displaying the conversation between Siddhu and himself.
Elarion's anger intensified as they discovered that Natwar had been concealing information. "I will tell you one more time: give me the information, or no one will be as fearsome as I am," Elarion warned Natwar.
"Elf Queen, according to the peace treaty, you cannot attack us. You have no proof that your son was kidnapped in our kingdom; perhaps he ended up in another realm," Natwar retorted, displaying unwarranted confidence. He knew the Elves couldn't assault them without cause.
"The peace treaty? How laughable! Here, my son is missing, and you are concerned about some flimsy agreement," Elarion raged, activating his Time Power to freeze everyone in their tracks. "If you had just returned my son, I would have dealt with the slave traders. But since you attempted to hide my son's information, it's time for you to learn who I am."
Elarion harnessed his Time Power, effectively freezing the entire Somtar Kingdom. "Haldir, go retrieve my son. You have just one hour," he commanded with urgency.
"As you command, my King," Haldir replied, appearing and then vanishing. Haldir, a trusted agent of Elarion, often operated discreetly using his Shadow power, which allowed him to conceal himself within shadows.
While the kingdom remained frozen, its inhabitants were fully conscious but unable to move. It took less than 20 minutes to uncover the whereabouts of the Bajra Dal and locate Sharky.
Sharky was confined to a room, seated on the ground without a bed or chair. He felt fear but did his best to hide it.
Spotting Haldir, Sharky knew his father had come to rescue him. "Haldir, Uncle Haldir, I'm here!" he exclaimed.
Amit, the leader of the Bajra Dal and a member of the Vishwa Parishad Kingdom, realized his grave mistake upon seeing the Elven warrior.
"Yes, my prince, I came here for you. But wait a few moments. This scum has kidnapped many of our kind, even if they weren't from our Kingdom. Still, they share our race," Haldir reassured Sharky as he initiated the confrontation with the Bajra Dal.
Each henchman watched helplessly as their lives slipped away. Amit, the leader of the Bajra Dal, fell to the ground.
After freeing Sharky and the captive Elves, they returned to Elarion.
"My King, your command has been executed," Haldir reported, then vanished, a habit he'd maintained for many years.
Sharky ran into his mother Synthe's arms, crying as tears flowed freely.
Synthe, enraged by Sharky's ordeal, first comforted her son. "Elarion, leave none of them alive. These vile individuals dared to harm our son and withhold information," she declared. With Sharky in her embrace, she flew back to the World Ship, leaving the situation behind for Elarion to handle.
"Destroy Somtar Kingdom," Elarion ordered, and his Elven warriors dutifully carried out his command.
Natwar never anticipated that his kingdom would be razed to the ground. Had he known, he would have shared the details about the Bajra Dal. He wished to beg for mercy, but the Time Freeze left him powerless.
The entire Somtar Kingdom was obliterated while its inhabitants could only watch helplessly. Time power was incredibly potent, and those who mastered it were considered exceptionally dangerous. This is why Time powers had become the exclusive domain of the Elves. Elves dedicated most of their lives to studying and enhancing their Time Power, making it a coveted and closely guarded secret.
As the Elven army returned to their kingdom, the world became aware of the immense power wielded by someone who could manipulate Time. The destruction of Somtar Kingdom went against the Peace Treaty Act, but the fact that it was their own actions that led to their demise was a bitter lesson.
On the World Ship, Sharky continued to cry, his tears soaking his mother's clothes. "Calm down, my dear. See, my love, both dad and I came for you," Synthe comforted him.
"Yes, dear. Look who kidnapped you – their existence has already been erased," Elarion added, doing his best to soothe his son.
After shedding tears of relief and pain, he now felt hungry, for he had not eaten anything since he wanted to open her mother's dress to release her breasts. Synthesizing his situation, she freed her breasts, allowing him to drink her milk. After drinking his fill, Sharky finally fell asleep in his mother's embrace.
Upon their return to the kingdom, Synthe carefully laid Sharky down in his bed, and both she and Elarion joined him, hugging him tightly as they wanted to ensure he wouldn't suffer further trauma.
A week had passed since the traumatic incident. Sharky hadn't entirely forgotten the scars, but he was a resilient child. Surrounded by the continuous shower of love from his parents, he knew he was safe and protected.
Over that week, he was never left alone. His father, mother, and sisters made sure he was always in their company, determined to prevent any such situation from happening again. Security measures were increased significantly.
The news of the incident had spread, and the warning sent out by Elarion was taken very seriously. It wasn't just their kingdom; all the neighboring realms, including the Dwarven, Goblin, Ork, Giant, Human, and other Elven kingdoms, now feared Elarion. The message was clear: any harm to their citizens would be met with swift and uncompromising retribution.
