Chapter 04

Cleolei

The mummy/werecat opens the door to the bedroom that Bloodgood had said she could use. She slowly walks in, feeling as if she was an intruder. Cleolei has many memories here even though this is the first time the fusion had set foot in it.

It was with this room that Toralei first felt like she was welcomed as family.

"I've brought you a change of clothes," Bloodgood walks in carrying a set of pajama shorts and a shirt with the sleeves torn off. The woman then notices the tears on the mummy/werecat's face. "Cleolei…" the headless woman walks up to her. "Are you all right?"

"This… was her room," the fusion sniffles while covering her face.

Bloodgood sadly looks upon the ghoul and sets the clothes on a nearby vanity. The woman then walks up to the teen and embraces her. She just remained there until Cleolei's crying stopped.

"I cannot pretend to know what you're going through. But I am certain that things will get easier," the woman breaks away then looks around at the room. "Other than Abbey's and my own, this is the only room already set up. I did not think about how you'd feel. I can ready a different one for you if it's alright."

"No, no," Cleolei wipes the tears away. "It's fine. I got passed it from being in Cleo's room, I'll do so with Toralei's. This is just a lot to take in," the ghoul walks over to the vanity to pick up the change of clothing. "I, I just need some time to adjust."

"Very well," the headmistress goes to walk out of the room. But stops when the fusion starts speaking again.

"I know she never told you this," the mummy/werecat refused to meet the woman's gaze. "You meant a lot to Toralei. Truly."

Hearing this, Bloodgood gives a sad smile. "She meant a lot to me as well," with that, the woman finally left.

Cleolei gazes at the set of clothes and runs her fingers over the print of four claw marks on the shirt. "This was her favorite," instead of getting dressed, the ghoul goes over to the vanity to open a drawer and pulls out a diary. A diary that contains the memories that no longer mean anything and the hopes and dreams that will no longer be. All belonging to a ghoul who no longer exists.

The fusion hugs the book as she starts crying once again.

Lagoonafire

The sea monster/dragon stretches after changing into one of Lagoona's pajamas. "After all he and Lagoona had been through, I can't believe he said those things!" she walks over to her hydration chamber and sees her pet piranha swimming around in it. "Neptuna, luv," the ghoul sighs while placing her hand on the side of the chamber and the pet nudges its head on the glass where the hand is as if getting a head pat. "I don't know what I was expecting. I knew he'd be upset about Lagoona. Who wouldn't be upset at that? Just didn't think he'd bring up the prejudice between fresh and saltwater Monsters. He reminds me of…"

Unbeknownst to Lagoonafire, her body starts to emit heat, causing the water in the take to warm up and Neptuna flinches from it.

The teen takes a deep breath. "Best I just get some rest," she suggests before climbing into the chamber. As soon as her body entered the water, steam rose and once it vanished, all liquid had evaporated.

"Neptuna!" Lagoonafire quickly grabs the distressed fish and rushes to where she keeps the fishbowl and drops Neptuna in it. "I'm sorry, luv," the ghoul couldn't apologize enough. "I guess you'll have to sleep in there for the night," she then sighs as she turns back towards her hydration chamber. "Now where am I going to sleep?"

Clawvenus

Howleen was having a hard time sleeping giving the light. "Ugh!" she rises up out of bed and turns to the source. "Will you just…" but the youngest wolf sibling stops as finds the fusion going through pictures on her iCoffin with a desk lamp on beside her bed.

"Huh?" Clawvenus looks up from the book. "Sorry. I was just looking through the old pictures."

The younger sister worriedly looks at the older with concern. She climbs out of her bed to go over and sit next to the werewolf/plant monster. "Are you all right, Clawvenus?"

"It's just weird," the fusion looks back down at the picture of all the Wolf siblings together. "I have memories of living through all of this. Of both Clawdeen…" she swipes to show a photo of Clawdeen and her ghoulfriends during the flashion mob. "…and Venus," Clawvenus finds herself caressing the image of the plant monster. "But at the same time, I know that they ain't my own. Same with every moment Clawdeen spent with you and her family."

Howleen nods, attempting to understand her older sister's dilemma. Then something occurred to the pink haired ghoul. "Hey! What about Venus' parents? Do you plan on letting them now about all this?"

At this, Clawvenus leans back with a heavy sigh. "They already know."

"So, you already told them?"

"Didn't have to," the fusion shakes her head.

"Huh?"

"It's like this," Clawvenus grabs her sketch book and draws simple drawings of plants. "Plants are all connected. And I don't mean by a root system," she draws lines to connect them. "Not entirely sure myself if it's magic or spiritual but it is there. Venus explained it to Clawdeen once, but she thought it was some phony mumbo jumbo. But I can feel it," she closes her eyes. "And sometimes I can see it," then, they open. "The moment Clawdeen and Venus completely merged into me, Venus' place in this connection changed into mine. They took that to mean that she's gone despite her being a part of me," the fusion places a hand over her heart. "I can feel them mourning Venus' loss."

Howleen looks sadly at her older sister. "Hey! I'm sure it'll be alright. Perhaps we can contact them and clear things up," she tries reassuring the fusion.

"Thanks, Howleen," Clawvenus smiles briefly before sighing. "I'm more worried about clearing things up with Jane."

"Jane?" the youngest Wolf tilts her head. "What does she have to do with this?"

The werewolf/plant monster's eye widened. "Uh… nothing! It's late! Time for bed! Good night!" the fusion quickly turned the light off and uses the covers to hide herself, leaving the younger sibling confused.

Dracubecca

Kline was unsure of what to expect from the lady's new form. He spent some of his free time reading up on engineering maintenance and scaredevils. None of that prepared him for the next morning to find his charge not in her bed but lying on a thin layer pallet on the floor with an empty pitcher and glass next to her.

"Lady Dracubecca?" the butler calls for her.

The vampire/robot's eye flutter open before letting out a yawn and stretching. "Morning, Kline," the ghoul raises up while rubbing the remainder of sleep from her eyes.

"Forgive me if I'm overstepping my boundaries, Lady Dracubecca. But why are you on the floor."

"It's funny," the fusion lifts herself. "That bed is still the most comfortable one I know. But for some reason it's too soft. I couldn't sleep a wink last night until I gave up and just settled on the floor."

Kline looks down at the pitcher and glass. "And what about the pitcher?"

The ghoul looks down at them. "I kept getting up for a drink of water. After the fifth, I decided to grab a whole pitcher to keep beside me," she looks back up and the butler. "I noticed yesterday that I was drinking more than usual but I did not realize exactly how much."

Kline holds his chin in thought and glances over where those shoes the ghoul had on yesterday when attempting that stunt. "You are steam powered now," he starts recalling the books he read while looking back at Dracubecca. "It would only be natural for you require large amounts of water to help keep functioning."

"Huh! I never thought of that. You'd think I would have with my Robecca side."

"As Draculaura, had you ever taken notice how often you drank tomato juice or about how you turn into a bat whenever you transform?"

The vampire/robot just shook her head. "No."

"There you have it," the butler announces. "Things that are second rarely have thought put into them when doing it. Robecca was used to the amount of water she consumed on a daily basis. It was a part of who she was. Just as being a vampire was part of who Lady Draculaura was."

Dracubecca looks down. That was the first time she actually paid attention to when Draculaura and Robecca being used in past tense. "Exactly how alike and different am I to them?"

"You can check for yourself, Lady Dracubecca," Kline gestures to the mirror. "That would be a start."

The fusion lets out a giggle. "Oh, Kline. You know that vampires can't…" she turns to the mirror but stops at the sight of an image of herself.

"Vampires are incapable of viewing themselves through reflection. But you as a fusion is a different matter."

The ghoul hardly paid attention to the butler as she was more enamored with the mirror. Even though Draculaura and Robecca had be fused for two days now, this is the first time the teen actually looked into a mirror. The vampire side of her is amazed at the sight of it.

Dracubecca walks up to the mirror and places a hand on the mirror.

"Perhaps I should leave you alone to yourself," Kline suggests. "Just do not take long as you are due to leave for school shortly." With that the butler left the ghoul alone in her room.

Dracubecca started examining every inch of her reflection and soon took notice of something. "Is one nostril bigger than the other? How come no one's ever told me?"

NOTE: Bet most of you thought I forgot about this story. I don't easily forget about any of my stories. I just tend to get distracted by other stories and life. I'll get back to them eventually. I just can never promise when.
