In this chapter, we will see Blake, Trinity, Ruby, Max, Bryce, and Shylow give new students tours of the school. We'll meet some interesting people. One of which is Lila Barton, the daughter of Clint Barton, whom I understand is canonically NOT a mutant but folks this is fanfiction, sometimes weird things happen here! We also get to see some of the new roommate pairings and check in with a few people's summers.

Blake Misaki was lounging with her friend, Ruby Milton, on the front steps of the Xavier Institute for Gifted Children. It was the Thursday before classes of the 2010-2011 school year would begin and also happened to be the new student arrival day. Trinity Sekler and Max Martin were expected back that day and their two friends had opted to wait for them on the lawn of the school. Blake had already volunteered the four of them, as well as Ruby's boyfriend Bryce, to help with new student tours today and her friends had happily agreed.
"So, Kurt is supposed to be here on Sunday?" Ruby asked her friend, who nodded her head, "When is he flying back in?" She added, looking confused when she saw the other girl's expression.
"He's sort of already back… just not at the school yet!" Blake told the other, "He's spending the weekend with Dari!" She added, seeing the other girl nodding her head.
Before Ruby could reply she felt another body drop-down at her side. They both turned and spotted Bryce, her boyfriend, seated on the step beside her.
"Who're we talking about?" Bryce questioned looking at the two with a smirk.
"Kurt… He's at the Prime house and he'll be here Sunday night!" Blake told the boy, "He's spending a few days with Dari before he gets back!" She added with a yawn.
"So, he already flew back?" Bryce asked receiving a simultaneous 'Yes' from Ruby and 'Nope' from Blake.
Bryce and Ruby looked at one another before they both turned, giving her a confused glance.
"He didn't exactly fly here!" Blake elaborated, making Ruby's eyes go wide.
"He ported here from home!" Ruby exclaimed softly, she had known Kurt since they were twelve and he had never been confident in blind teleportation.
"Impressive!" Bryce added with a smirk, proud to hear that his friend had accomplished something like that.
"How'd you and Darius convince him to try that?" Ruby asked her friend, who shook her head before answering.
"I had been talking to him about trying it for a couple of weeks, then when I just about had him, he tried to back out and Envy got involved!" Blake explained, "She made some comment about him not being willing to teleport from the living room to the kitchen much less 6,000 kilometers… I guess he took it personally!" She added seeing Bryce scowl at the mention of the other girl.
He had never particularly cared for Envy after seeing her challenge Kurt all the time, but after she had gone after River, that was crossing the line for him. Outside of the fact that River had literally saved his life, they were just a kind and thoughtful friend, and seeing this hateful person try to challenge them had struck a nerve with Bryce.
"One minute he was on the phone, saying he didn't think it was a good idea and the next he was standing behind me in the living room of the Prime house!" Blake continued seeing the look on Bryce's face, "Then when she tried to say something, he barked something at her in German and ported him and Dari away…" She added making both of the other teens smirk.
"Good for him!" Ruby stated, shaking her head slowly, "Someone shoulda told her to stick it where the sun don't shine a while ago!" She added making Blake laugh a little, making a note to share that with Kurt later.

Blake, Ruby, and Bryce had been joined by Max and Trinity about an hour before on the lawn. In the time since, Blake had filled them both in on what had happened with Kurt in the weeks prior. Max was very impressed, and Trinity had made similar comments to Ruby's from earlier that day.
"So, how'd the single life treat you over the summer Maxie?" Bryce asked the other boy who shrugged his shoulders.
"I actually saw a guy for a little bit…" Max countered casually, making them all look over with interest, "Relax it was just a summer fling… it ended when the summer did!" He added at the end trying and failing to hide his disappointment.
"Well tell us about him!" Ruby insisted, looking intrigued.
"Even if you did know him I couldn't… he's not really out and he's too nice of a guy to do that too!" Max stated looking away for a moment.
Bryce gave him a look of sympathy, nodding his head slowly.
"That's fine!" Bryce stated calmly making the three girls look over surprised, "But when he is comfortable sharing that part of himself with everyone, we wanna hear about him!" He added, each of the girls nodding quickly.
The group had been waiting in the dining room for Judah and River to join them. Dante had told them via text that they would be helping Judah and River set up groups of students with their new uniforms, before giving school tours.
The group turned when they heard a group of voices entering from the kitchen into the dining room. It was Judah and River, joined by Shylow, Nat, and Nicky Crestler. They were each carrying large boxes that they deposited on a dining table near the back wall.
"Sorry to be tardy to the party folks!" Judah told the teenagers as he grabbed a clipboard from the top of the closest box, "We've got a couple extra hands here… Nicolas and Nathaniel are helping me and Riv with uniforms, Shylow… you're giving tours, right?" Judah asked the telepath who nodded.
"Mel and Hubby are getting all the new kids in the foyer and will be bringing them down soon… they'll be coming in by grade level… we have five new grade seven girls and four new grade eight, one of the sevens is rooming with a group of grade eight girls so whoever takes those groups will probably just go together…" Judah began hearing several giggles at the mention of Dante, "Trin, B, you all wanna take the grade seven and eight girls?" He asked the two girls, who looked to one another before nodding.
"Sound's good… do you have their doors marked off upstairs?" Blake asked the teacher who nodded before looking back at his husband's younger sibling.
"Riv was supposed to do that earlier… you and Luca got that done, right?" He asked the younger who nodded.
"Yeah bro… we're Gucci 5000!" River stated awkwardly with a thumbs up, making Bryce roll his eyes and both Nat and Trinity snort with poorly muffled laughter.
"M'Kay so I… I don't even know where to go after that, to be honest…" Judah stated with a heavy sigh making the rest of the teens struggle not to laugh.
"Anyway… so Max and Shy, we have seven new grade seven boys and one grade eight… you both got a handle on that?" Judah questioned the younger two, after taking a minute to collect his thoughts.
Max nodded, taking the piece of paper handed to him, before looking at Shy who nodded simply and took what he was handed. Judah then passed Trinity and Blake lists of info about their students.
"Ruby, there are five new freshman girls, and Bryce you'll have the freshman boys… looks like you have four of them, we have, one sophomore who will be joining us tomorrow and has already had a tour!" Judah told the remaining two teens.
Ruby and Bryce took a list from the teacher before they both went to use the bathroom, knowing that they would have some time to kill.
"When you all get done with the tours and pass them on to the correct teacher for Sub basement stuff, meet me back here and I'll get you guys your roommates and schedules!" Judah announced before the teens who would be going later all disbursed, taking care of business before time to go.

Trinity and Blake's group of middle school girls were currently gathered at the top of the stairs on the third-floor girls' dorm wing. Trinity was holding the list of grade eight girls, While Blake had the grade seven list in her hand.
"Alright folks, if I call your name come stand on my left-hand side, please…" Blake called getting the attention of the group of nine middle schoolers, "Ashleigh Mendel… Miranda Lewis… Michelle Barker… Zoey McEllis!" She spoke seeing four girls head to her left side.
"You four will be bunking together for the rest of the school year, go ahead and look for the door with your names on it… they should be hanging on the door!" Blake explained to the four teens, who all got acquainted quickly before spreading out to look for their names, "When you find your door go ahead and take your stuff inside and pick a bed… I'll be over to show you the room in a moment!" She added before looking to Trinity.
"Ok cool… I need Dawn Marshall… Eleanora Marshall… Sisters?" She asked them, getting shaken heads in response.
"Paternal Cousins!" One of the two girls clarified, "But born within a week of each other!" She added seeing her cousin nod at the older teen.
"Awesome, last with ya'll is Kimberly Sickles!" Trinity replied before getting the final member of their group together, "Ya'll are roomed together with… Fuckin' yikes guys!" She continued, seeing Blake and the three middle schoolers look over concerned.
"Ya'll are gonna be roomed with Janie Mae Andrews, she was here last year!" Trinity clarified quickly, "We've butt heads with her and her sister a lot… Don't worry about it though!" She added trying to calm the other teens.
"Ya'll find the room with your names on the door and I'll come by to show you the room in a minute!" Trinity finished before gesturing from the last two girls to Blake.
"You both are Naoko Sasaki and Lila Barton, right?" She asked looking from one girl to the other.
One girl was medium height and skinny with dyed teal hair, she was Japanese based on her name and her looks, and she looked over at Blake in slight surprise.
"Nice pronunciation!" Naoko commented with a curt nod and a thick Australian accent.
"Blake Misaki!" The elder girl announced offering her hand to the other who chuckled and nodded.
"Just half, right?" The younger asked getting a nod from the older.
"Yeah, my mom!" Blake told the girl before turning to the youngest of them, "That'd make you Lila then?" She asked the other girl who nodded with a small smile.
Lila shared a lot of features with Hawkeye, sandy blonde hair with a fair complexion, and sharp eyes in a soft hazelish-green. Her mutation was an obvious one, on her back were two large bird-like wings. The wings were a very muted brown in color and speckled with darker spots, they were like the wings of a Mourning Dove.
"Nice to meet you!" The youngest girl told her shyly, waving a small hand.
"Likewise!" Blake told her before the two younger girls shook hands, "So you both are gonna be roomed with two girls who were here last year, Raelaea and Dani!" She added offering her hand to take some of their bags.
"What are they like?" Naoko asked casually as the three approached the door with their names.
"Raelaea and her friend Sarah are alright… they keep to themselves mostly!" Blake explained as the two girls took the bunk bed on the left side of the room, "Dani and her roommates from last year are close, they'll all love you both though, so don't worry!" She continued before going over the shpiel about the shelves in place of nightstands and the locking desk drawers.
"While you folks take a minute to get situated, I'm gonna go check on the others, we'll start the tour of the rest of the school in five to ten minutes!" She told them before stepping out to head to the room of the four grade seven girls.

After they had finished with new student tours, Blake and Trinity met up with Judah, River, and the twins in the Dining room. Judah had been joined by Dante, who was standing close to his side, Judah had one hand lightly resting on the other's shoulder.
"You two are so married!" Trinity declared with a chuckle as she approached the two teachers.
Dante looked at her with a light blush on his face and Judah just rolled his eyes in response.
"You should've seen them this summer… it was really something then!" They heard Shylow's voice state as he and Max joined the group.
"Gross!" Max added, making Judah laugh lightly.
"Oh yeah, it's awful!" Judah told the other teasingly, making even Dante chuckle.
"The worst!" Dante added making the students all giggle, "So I'm guessing you all are here for your roommate assignments and schedules?" He added, turning to grab a stack of papers from the table behind him.
"That's the plan!" Max told him, briefly looking at his phone and frowning slightly.
"Fantastic… Trin you are paired up with Phoebe this year!" Dante told the blonde before handing her a copy of her schedule, "Miss Misaki you are with Kitty, and here is your schedule!" He added handing the other teen a piece of light blue paper.
"Cool… I'll text her and let her know!" Blake stated looking up and waving over Bryce and Ruby, who had just returned.
"Ruby Milton… you are roomed with Mari and here's your class schedule!" Dante told the newest girl to join the group, "Bryce, you and Riv are bunking this year!" He told the boy who nodded, taking his schedule and looking at his friend.
"You got gloves on?" He asked the elder who nodded, "High five then!" He added, making the other laugh but give in, slapping palms briefly.
"K… Max you're with Bobby…" Dante continued after a moment, pausing to look up, when he heard the sound of a phone hitting the floor, "That's cool, right?" He asked the teen who nodded quickly.
"Yeah, sorry I thought I clicked on a risky link… my bad!" Max told the teacher taking his class schedule, Trinity giving him a look that clearly stated she didn't buy that excuse.
"Shylow, you and Evan are bunking…" Dante continued going through the students with him, "Nat, Nick you both want yours too?" He asked turning to the two sophomores.
Both boys nodded and approached, Nat gravitating over to Shylow, leaning lightly at his side.
"Nat, you are paired with Kaimen Hilton!" He told the raven-haired boy whose face paled briefly before going back to his normal neutral state.
"And Nick you are with… fuckin' shit!" Dante cursed aloud, surprising all the teens with his candid demeanor, even River looked shocked, "You are rooming with Avalanche!" He added pinching the bridge of his nose, multiple students looked up with looks of confusion and concern.
"What do you mean he's rooming with Avalanche?" Max asked with narrowed eyes, "How is he allowed to go to school here if he's in the brotherhood?" He continued to question.
Nat and Nicky exchanged a look, before casting an annoyed gaze on Judah and Dante.
"He claims to be done with the brotherhood!" Judah started looking as irritated as his students, "Just don't start any fights with him, ignore him and when he fucks up, he'll be gone!" He added quickly.
The students looked pensively at each other before nodding to their teachers. Upon saying goodbye, the group of teens all left to go compare schedules and discuss the new 'student' situation.
