Chapter 1
I watched as Zira told her plan to the other lions.
"I need to do something," I thought, "but they wouldn't listen to a one year old lioness." Father had chosen Kovu as his heir. Not his own daughter, Kovu. Turns out he met my cousin Simba's daughter. Zira's plan involved her. I had to warn them. I turned around.
"Where are you going, Kala." I stopped. It was Hasira. She was a cold hearted, rotten, angry lioness. And my guardian.
"No where." I muttered.
"What was that?" She growled.
"No where!" I growled back. I was about to leave when she grabbed my scruff and threw me across the cave.
"Then why are you leaving?" I gasped for breath. "Zira!" Hasira roared. I finally got up, heaving. Hasira pushed me down, claws digging into my side. I cried out in pain. "Zira!"
"What!" Zira yelled walking up.
"I just caught Kala trying to sneak off." Hasira hissed. I squirmed, trying to get away.
"Is this true, Kala?" She said, oddly sweet.
"I was just going to get some fresh air." I squealed, still having Hasira's claws in my side.
"Really?" She answered gently. "Hasira! Let her go." She growled. Hasira slowly let go. Gasping for breath, I stood. As soon as I did, Zira clawed my eye. I roared. "You still could have told your guardian!" She swiped at me, hitting my thigh. I tried to fight back but then Hasira joined in. Two against one. How quaint. I ran for the nearest exit.
"Run you coward! Just like your mother!" Roared Hasira. Hot tears stung my eyes. I saw Kovu. He looked at me in horror. I ran. My legs protested. Blood streaming from my wounds. But I kept on running. Running away is better than being killed. I headed for Pride rock. I had to warn Simba.
Finally I made it. Rain had started to fall. Simba looked at me.
"Who are you?" He demanded.
"I am Kala, daughter of Scar and Aina."
Everyone gasped.
"Scar was never proud of me because he wanted a male heir. After he died, My mother tried to protect me from Zira and failed, losing her life." I grimace. Pain filling my side. I felt dizzy. "I've been living with the badland lions and they have planned something involving your family."
"What have they planned?"
Spots went across my vision. " I-I don't know…" I answered. Then I collapsed.
