"God damn it," Roman mumbled.
Seth looked in Roman's direction. Roman had his back turned towards Seth and had no idea Seth was there. Roman sighed and sniffled, and Seth already knew what this was about. Only one person could make Roman sad this way. Seth snuck up behind Roman and looked over his shoulder. Roman was reading an article on his phone.
YES, WE ARE DATING
Seth read the headline and moved his eyes to the first line of the article.
"Baron Corbin and Eliana Astrea are the newest couple in the world of wrestling."
Seth knew it had to be something with Eliana. She hadn't done anything wrong. Roman had been the one to dump her and had since regretted it. He regretted it the second he did it but his pride was in his way and he had been selfish.
"Are you okay?" Seth asked.
Roman jumped startled and turned his phone upside down.
"No need to hide it. I already saw it," Seth said.
Roman sighed and turned his head to look at Seth.
"I'm the biggest idiot to have ever walked this earth," Roman said.
"You fucked up," Seth said.
"I fucked up," Roman agreed. "And now she's moved on with Baron apparently."
"He's a good guy," Seth said.
"But he's not me!" Roman sneered. "He has my woman and the life I want!"
"You don't get to blame him for your choice. You left her, Roman. You broke her heart and she healed and moved on. She's got every right to date anyone she wants," Seth said.
Roman sighed and nodded. He knew Seth was right.
"I got caught up in my own ego," Roman admitted. "I got so angry when she said she didn't want to be part of the bloodline storyline and I couldn't control that anger. The words just flew out of my mouth and I was too proud to take them back or even apologize."
"Like I said, you fucked up," Seth said.
"I fucked up," Roman nodded again. "Do you think it's too late to apologize now?"
"Yes and no," Seth said.
Seth sat down next to Roman and tried with a little smile.
"She deserves an apology for how you ended things and you should give that to her, but nothing more than that. It's too late to get back together with her. She's moved on. She's happy with Baron. Look at that picture of them together. Look at her smile and her eyes. She's happy, Roman," Seth said.
Roman looked at his phone and sighed again. He could see how happy Eliana looked in the picture. Her long, wavy, dark blonde hair was put up in a messy bun, and her light brown eyes were glowing. She looked good.
"Apologize and move on," Seth said. "She'll forgive you. I'm sure she already has. She's not one to hold a grudge but you still owe her an apology no matter what."
"I still love her," Roman said.
"I know," Seth patted Roman's shoulder. "But you can't tell her that. Apologize and wish her the best. You broke up with her so you don't get to mess with her life from now on."
Roman nodded and pulled Seth in for a sideways hug.
"Thank you," Roman said.
"And you don't mess with Baron either," Seth said.
"I wasn't gonna," Roman said.
"Yes, you were. I know you, Roman," Seth chuckled. "No messing with any of them. Apologize and move on. If you can't do it alone, get some therapy. Make sure you're fully healed before finding someone new, and don't ever make the same mistake again."
"I won't. I've learned my lesson the hard way," Roman said.
Roman looked at his phone again and smiled tiredly at the picture of Eliana and Baron together.
"They make a great couple," Roman said.
"They sure do," Seth said. "It's okay to be sad and cry. It's healthy to get it out of your system."
"I'll drink my sorrows away tonight," Roman said.
"I'll stop by your hotel room with a bottle of something strong," Seth patted Roman's knee. "I'm not giving up on you, Roman. I'm here for you."
