Chapter 1

A Week Before Bella Comes to Forks

Secelia's P.O.V

It was a week before Bella was due to come to this little town. I asked Charlie if he would mind if I crashed at his place while I looked for a place of my own. "You could always stay here if you want." He had offered. "No thanks, Charlie, while it's a nice offer I don't want you to wake up to my screaming." I didn't have to explain. Both Bella and Charlie knew of my past. They knew a lot, Me being a hybrid, The General, and The wars. They don't know the extent of the southern wars and hybrid wars. They knew that I have been blind almost all my life. Then there are things they don't know, Aphrodite my inner beast, They don't know of the loss of them, and They don't know that instead of three parts of me there used to be four before Santiago and I merged. I shudder that merge wasn't peaceful as it should've been. It was painful and intense.

"Not there anymore." Aphrodite my inner beast reminded me. He comforting rumble soothes me.

"She's right Lia, breathe, focus, change is coming." The General rumbled. 'You know this Gen?' I asked in amusement. The General snorts in my mind. "Course I do' I force myself to relax as the plane touches down in Seattle. The sunglasses hide my eyes so no one questions how I am blind but can move swiftly through the crowded airport. I sense that soon I am behind Charlie and being me, I poke him. He turns quickly. "Hiya Charlie!" I exclaimed. He laughed startled," You scared me,Secelia!" He fake scolds and we both laughed and embraced. Charlie's hugs reminded her of home. It reminded me of my brother and sister. They weren't biological but still they were mine. We let go and make our way to the cruiser. The drive is silent except for mild commentary about Bella and answering Charlie's queries. We got to the house and I take my things inside. I use the guest room. I unpack and head back downstairs and decide to run perimeter. I grab my jacket. "Where you going now, you just got here?" Charlie asked. "Running perimeter," I say with a smirk. "Same old Lia," Charlie chuckled and being mindful of my discomfort with touch he gently ruffled my hair. I shake my head back out and walk out the door before starting a run. I run the neighborhood and school grounds checking everything out. Just because I was blind didn't mean that I couldn't sense when things were off. I sent out the school and become familiar with the territory. I debated scouting the woods but decided to leave it for another day. I make my way back to the house but stop at the store along the way. I grabbed two sandwiches and two beers. I make my way back to the house. Walking in I hand Charlie the sandwich and beer. "Thanks kid." He says. I acknowledge this with a nod as a small smile makes its way onto my lips. Maybe this place wasn't so bad.
